Shortly after Tycho usurped Princess Celestia and gained control of Equestria. The entire country is still adjusting to the new leadership. Small rebellions arise and most of Equestria's military is being used for putting down rebellions. However, the Wonderbolts continued their operations as normal.

One day Wonderbolts start going missing in the deserts of Saddle Arabia. This is concerning to Spitfire so she accompanies a squad in a search and rescue mission. They discover a cave which contained an ancient evil.

Later Spitfire finds herself in unexpected circumstances on a cart bound for the newly established military run prison known as Iron Holt.
