Leveling Up

“Behold! The glorious town of Snowdin!” Panini said as she presented the snow covered town to Veronica and Trixie. The two would blink in surprise as they see a small town filled with a mix between ponies and monsters walking around as if nothing was wrong and without a care in the world.

“Reminds me of Ponyville. Only some of the ponies in Ponyville aren’t freaked out by the monsters appearing in their town last time I went there.” Trixie said as she continues to look around a bit before looking over at Veronica looking at the town with starry eyes.

“Wow, this place is so cool looking. I wouldn’t mind living in a place like this. Especially seeing how it feels nice here.”

“You’re undead. The cold doesn’t bother you anyway...why does that sound over used?” Shalltear said as she noticed the three of them making their way into Snowdin as they followed after the skeleton girl.

“Before we head over to my place, let's head over to the store so we can get you fitted and restock on supplies. After all, I can't have my best friends get hurt or anything.” Panini said before walking over to the right to a building with a sign that says shop. Once there, she opens the door to the shop as Veronica and Trixie enter inside after Panini enters. Upon entering, they would see various types of items, gear, swords, and armor type plastered around the store. They soon notice the store owner making her way to the front counter of the store as she grins at the newcomers in her store.

“Welcome, to snowdin’s magical shopping store! I am Vritra. How can I help you today!?” She asked before noticing Panini. “Ah, my favorite skeleton girl. How can I help you today?”

“Hi Vritra! Mind helping out my new friends today?” She asked while motioning to Veronica and Trixie as they waved at her, which took the Servant Displaced by surprise.

“Wow...I was not expecting to see another displaced...let alone a human soul sharing a body with a vampire soul.”

“She knows! Quickly servant, kill her so she doesn’t try to attack us or worse!” Shalltear ordered as Veronica rolled her eyes and walked up the Vritra. “It’s a long story with the problem I’m having, but right now I’m here to get some better gear. Mainly because the stuff I have on isn’t any good.”

“I’ll say.” She said looking between her and Trixie as her eyes glowed. “We’ll have to fix that won’t we?”

“What’s wrong with what Trixie has on? Trixie will have you know that what she has on was made by very highly crafted unicorns.” Trixie said as the servant displaced deadpans before speaking.

“Your garments are nothing more than cloth with nothing special added to them. Other than the staff...it’s crap.”

“Hey!”

“Anyway, given the way you two are dressed. I take it one’s a mage, while the other is a knight, correct?”

“I guess? I know Trixie is a wizard, but I don’t know about myself.” Veronica said as she looked over herself. “I’m going to assume yes.”

“Alright, what would you two like for me to get then?”

“Trixie requires new clothes to help suit her in this cold environment.” Trixie said as sneezed slightly.

“I wouldn’t mind a new weapon and garments.” Veronica said as Vritra placed a hand to her chin to think of something. She soon snapped her fingers as she quickly headed into the back of the store. In a matter of seconds, she returns with two boxes and a pair of weapons. One was a staff for Trixie, while the other was a blue colored sword for Veronica.

“Try these on in the dressing booth on your left. If you like them, then they’re yours to keep. I’ll just put on Panini’s tab like I always do.”

“Hey! I paid off the last tab I had with you!” Panini yelled in anger as Vritra rolled her eyes.

“Playing me with pasta is not going to pay off your tab bone girl. You should know that by now.” She said before looking at the vampire and unicorn as she levitated the box over to them as they took them. The two looked at the boxes they had before looking at each other with a shrug as they both headed into different changing booths. In a matter of minutes, Trixie exits from the booth with a grin on her face, showing off her new attire with confidence.

“Now this is something Trixie can get used to!” Trixie said before looking over at the other booth where Veronica was in as she noticed a light flashing within the booth, followed by a sign that said level up and her screaming which took Trixie by surprise. “Veronica, are you okay?”

“Um...I think so...but...um….I think I might’ve changed a bit compared to how I was before.” She said which caused Shalltear’s soul to float out of the booth with a shocked expression on her face.

“You, Shalltear. What did you do to Veronica?”

“....She’s dead to me.” She answered which caused Vritra, Panini, and Trixie to look at each other in confusion. “Look at what she did to my body! My glorious figure is now ruined by that human’s soul!” They all looked over at the booth as Veronica exits from inside it. Upon revealing herself they were all taken by surprise by her new appearance.

“I...Think I leveled up or something like that?” Veronica said as Panini appeared in front of her which caused Veronica to flinch backwards a bit.

“Wow, I didn’t know changing your clothes would change the way you look. I should give that try when I get home!”

“That’s not how it works, bonehead. I added a bit of an exp boost for when they change into their attire...though I wasn’t expecting for the kid to grow into something like that.” Vritra said before casting a scan spell on Veronica. “Huh, looks like you got a class change given the attire I’ve given you.”

“Really...wait that’s possible?”

“Sometimes. It usually happens depending on the gear you have on. Seeing how I’ve given you gear that would classify you as a knight and you must have learned a dark attribute of something. You’ve unlocked a specific class that only your race can use.” She said before pulling up a chart with Veronica’s status on it.

“Huh...wasn’t expecting that, but thanks!” Veronica said as Shalltear glared at her in utter disgust.

“When I find a way to get my body back. I am going to kill you in your sleep.”

“I’m pretty sure by the time that does happen, I’ll be way stronger than you.”

“Hell would freeze over before something like that happened.” She said before going back inside of Veronica’s body. “If you die, I will kill you.”

“How can you kill someone if they’re already dead?” Veronica asked as she only received silence from her partner. “And silence...should I be worried about this?”

“Maybe, but worry about it later. Right now you got what you need from me right? Don’t need anything else?” Vritra asked as she heard Trixie speak up.

“Trixie requests items for healing purposes...Mainly because she doesn't have the means to heal with magic.” Trixie said as Vritra used her tail to grab a carrying bag with a good set of curative potions ranging from healing, magic recovery, and ailment healing. “Oh, um. Thank you?”

“Don’t mention it. I’ll add it to Panini’s tab as well.” She said which caused the skeleton girl to pout in outrage.

“This is disrimagation towards skeleton people! I don’t see you doing this to my brother!”

“Because he doesn’t break stuff in my store and pays his tabs on time and properly.” Vritra said as it caused Panini to turn around and exit the store.

“Whatever, I know when I’m not wanted! You’re just jealous of how great I am!” She said before slamming the door as she left Veronica and Trixie looked at each other for a moment before looking at the store owner who had a smug expression on her.

“Funny thing about it. Her brother already paid off her tab and doesn’t want me to tell her about it?”

“Do I dare ask why?”

“He enjoys pulling pranks like this on her. And I like seeing her act like this.” The displaced servant said before walking into the back of the store. “Anyway, you don’t have to worry so much about paying for the stuff I’ve given you. Consider it a welcoming gift to the underground. But don’t expect free stuff from me after this. Ya’ll gonna have to pay me to give or make you stuff, got it?” She asked as Veronica and Trixie nodded. “Good, now you might want to follow Panini to wherever you’re going...lord know that girl is hard to find when she gets lost.”

“Right, thank you very much for the gifts!” Veronica said as she and Trixie quickly exited the store and followed after Panini.
