A second chance
Sorry for the weird formatting I'm playing around with the settings to see what I like. Hopefully all will turn out right. My thanks goes to ToaOfTech for editing the story and helping me fix my grammar.
Chapter 1. Second chances
Darkness, darkness everywhere I looked, no matter which way I turned my head. I shivered as I felt a sudden chill coming from nowhere yet everywhere. I exhaled and saw my breath, looking at what I hoped was the ground. Soon I could hear the sounds of someone or something getting close. Hooves clopping against a hard surface echoed around me as what looked like a pale horse or pony with wings and a horn stood in front of me, shaking his head. It looked me dead in the eyes and I shivered once more as I stared back into its dead hallow eye sockets.
It then spoke in a deep voice that made the hairs on my back stand up:
“It seems we meet once again Lein, but unlike last time you will not be returning back to your world, no my dear boy. This time your soul belongs to me; your days as a god are over.”
I tried to stand up but I felt nothing. None of my limbs would move. I tried again but with the same results. I grunted as I would begin to growl
“Samuel J. Thanatos what in the name of the gods happened to you, you look ridiculous.”
He chuckled as he got close to me, placing his muzzle right next to my left ear and whispered
“The same thing which is about to happen to you, I will give you three days to run in that time I will come for you.”
He then backed up as his horn began to glow and his wings flared out. He let out a blinding flash of light, forcing me to close my eyes.
As the light would die down Samuel would look at the spot where Lein once was. He shook his head,
“I am truly sorry it has to come to this my friend, but it is time to move on and forget your petty quest for revenge. It has been over three hundred years since she has died. Enough blood has been shed, it’s time you remember who you really are.”
He then turned around and began to walk back into the darkness. After a few steps, the void shimmered and was replaced with the interior of a throne room. Two Alicorns would be seated on thrones: Princess Celestia on the left and her younger sister Princess Luna to her right.
Thanatos walked towards them, bowing and sighing. “My Princess, I bring news of a new threat that has come to endanger Equestria.”
Celestia looked him in the eyes and shook her head “If it’s not one thing it’s another, what is it this time Thanatos?”
He righted himself and sat down,
“The best I could describe is that he’s a danger to everypony here. He is violent, dangers, insane and must be stopped at any cost. I do not know what he looks like but I can sense his powers and he is coming here soon. Many others call him a god killer for he has killed several gods and left many places in shambles and chaos only to move on to the next and repeat it over and over again. His sights have now been set here on Equestria and you two the Goddess of Night and Day.”
He then glanced at Luna then got up and turned away.
“Now then, I must go. I am behind on my schedule for soul collecting.”
He then walked off and vanished.
Luna turned to Celestia with a worried look in her eyes.
“Sister, can we truly take on somepony dubbed ‘The God Killer’?"
Celestia sighed as her horn began to glow, a quill and parchment appearing in front of her.
“I don’t know sister but we will have to find out. I’ll gather the Elements of Harmony and you should go see if any of the books mentions this alleged God Killer.”
Luna got up and made her way to the Royal Archives as Celestia wrote a letter to her most faithful of students Twilight Sparkle.
In the dead of night a terrible storm was raging over the Everfree Forest. A single bolt of lightning streaked down from the sky and scorched the ground, lighting up the dark night. Lying in the scorched grass was a young blue alicorn. His eyes fluttered open for a second. He tried to move, but only cried out in pain instead. The world around him darkened as he fell
unconscious.
A tree above the alicorn would rustle then stop as a silhouette of a Pegasus pony would drop down in front of him. The pony would give off a dark chuckle and circle around keeping it's eyes on it's prey.
It would then smirk showing off rows of sharp jagged fangs then in a dark voice he spoke,
"Oh how the mighty have fallen you may have been on the top of the chain where you were, now you're nothing but a lowly maggot here."
He then began to chuckle
"Oh you got nothing to say for once what a pity you would have been so surprised to see me here. You tortured me, hunted me then banished me like they did to you ironic isn't it."
He then raised a hoof then brought it down hard and with a sickening crack he broke one of the alicorns wings.
"So long pup I'll be watching you."
His eyes flashed red then he flew off into the darkness of the Everfree.
As the night grew quiet and the storm passed over the forest several beams of pale moon light would surround over the alicorn as if imprisoning him in the one spot or rather leading a very curious princess of the night to the one how has been plaguing her thoughts all day.
As she flew from her room in Canterlot she was falling the beams of moonlight she soon saw Ponyville below her and noticed the beams were heading deep into the middle of the Everfree Forest.
She shook her head and kept on flying When she was directly over the spot she began to descend she let out a small gasp when she saw the beaten and battered form or a Pegasus pony laying on the ground.
Luna began to get closer to him and took several steps back and looked around
"What Trickery is this another alicorn here of all places?"
She then shook her head
"No something isn't right ."
She then walked back over to him then gently placed a hoof onto his head as her horn began to glow "Be strong little pony I'll get help for you soon."
In a small flash of light both of them were gone, Luna had teleported them back to her room in the royal castle in Canterlot.
She then placed him in her bed and walked to her door and quietly opened it
"I don't know if you can here me it seems you are too far gone but just know you are safe here for the night."
She then walked out and closed the door behind her a small click could be heard as it locked itself keeping the blue alicorn trapped inside not that he could complain or anything about the matter.

The Reason
(Changing it up a bit here, this chapter will be from Leins POV. Then it switches to Lunas)
THE REASON
“Warmth, softness and darkness well now this is new well not the darkness part I wonder what part of the void I am in this time”?
As the thought ran through my mind I opened my eyes and sat up only to let out a soft yelp then lay back down
“Ok new idea how about I just lay here for a bit”.
I begin to look around the room from what I could see by turning my head.
“Ok let’s see he have a detailed star map on the ceiling, wait a second those stars are moving and shining maybe a projection of some kind”?
I then looked at the bed sheets.
“Let’s see here the sheets are incredibly soft almost like a cloud and they have the phases of the moon for the pattern on them”.
I began to chuckle. “I wonder if the person likes to watches the sky at night”?
I then went to raise my hand up as if the reach and grab some of the stars only to gasp as I looked over my new appendage.
“Well now a hoof that’s new. No wonder I couldn’t feel my fingers must be the same with my toes then. Hooves how exciting this could be fun”.
Then I grin and begin laughing out loud. “Oh Sammy what have you dragged me into this time”?
I then stopped as I heard a knocking sound coming from in front of me only for it to stop followed by a small click and then the door opened. My heart stopped in a instant as the most wondrous sight enter my vision a mare black as night with a mane that sparkled as the night sky.
I shook my head “Hmmm I bet this her room”. Blushing a thought came to my head “Which means I am in her bed”.
That’s when I noticed her mouth was moving but I wasn’t hearing anything so I shook my head and looked her dead in the eyes.
“Would you kindly repeat what you have just been saying I’m sorry but it seems I wasn’t fully awake and I just missed everything you have just said”.
She laughed oh by us it sounded like bells ringing to my ears she looked back at me and smiled.
“I said hello my little Lein it has been a while you may not remember me in this form by my name is Luna here”.
Growling she walked over to the bed and grabbed me by the neck lifting me off the bed. “AND YOU HAVE A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO”!
I winced as my ears were violated by her yelling. The next thing I know she had let me go and I hit the ground hard and painfully. I was on my back whimpering as she placed her hoof on my throat.
“This world should have been cut off from you I don’t know how you got here but give me one reason why I should finish you off”.
She backed away from me as I muttered on single sentence to her that seem to scare her.
“Do it…kill me, I have failed to so many times already to do it myself… let’s see if you have better luck.”
I watched her go pale as she began to back out of the room. She then closed the door and shook her head as she turned away.
“You’re a broken pony now Lein I know what the others have done to you was wrong and unjust but killing them was just as wrong. I can see now how it has effect and broken you”.
Luna closed her eyes “The time in the void didn’t help either, Oh Thanatos I hope you know what you are doing”.
She then began to make her way to the throne room where she knew her sister was “Now all it comes down to is confronting Tia and telling her I have found the one we have been searching for”.
She then entered the throne room and walked over to her chair and sat next to her sister she took note that only the guards and her sister were present.
She turned to face her sister only to meet a cold glare from Celestia “Where did you find him, How long has he been here and Why did you not tell me sooner dear sister”.
Celestia was prepared to say more till she was silenced by Luna placing a hoof against her mouth
“Oh hush dear sister. I found him in the Everfree of course you know that place has always had a weak barrier. He’s been here for a few hours at the most when I came across him he was nearly beaten to death and by the looks of it somepony or thing broke his wing he has a very slim chance to be able to ever fly again, As for telling you I was going to as soon as I heard his side of the story as to why he is here”.
She then hung her head “I know this stallion Tia for the looks of it and from his condition he was forced here he even begged me to kill him he’s not fit to talk yet”.
She then looked back at Celestia meeting her stare “He’s no monster Tia a broken pony yes but he never meant harm on any one he was the kindest and caring pony I had ever met until the accident”.
Celestia looked at Luna “Accident Luna…what are you talking about”?
Luna sighed “It’s not my place to say but it needs to be said so that you know his plight”.
She then looked down at the ground beneath their hooves.
“As you might know by now out guest is not from here he was once a normal mortal being living his life to the fullest and as he grew older and had may ventures his actions caught the eye of a certain goddess. Now this goddess has always watched over him and protected him form anything to harmful but as the years went by she noticed she began to have feeling for the mortal and against her rulers judgment she met the mortal and well you can say after a few months with each other they fell in love. Now as you might have guessed this angered the goddess ruler, Alpha as he is called. Alpha then sent some of his subjects to confront our guest. They gave him two choices, Forget about his lover or Die.”
She began to cry “I did my best to help the two but in the end Lein chose to be killed rather then turn his back on her as the killing blow as to be struck she teleported in the middle of it and took the blow in her last few moments in life she gave up her powers and gave them to her lover. With so much power overwhelming his body when went berserk and started to hunt down and kill the ones who in his mind killed his lover. He then confronted Alpha who without breaking a sweat easily batted him to the sided and towered over Lein then instead of killing him he did something much worse he cursed Lein with immortality. I have in his lover stead been watching over him watching as he tried over and over again to take his life only to come back to life a few hours later”.
Luna then shook her head having run out of tears to shed “After a while I lost him to the void and no longer could see him. I don’t know what happened in there but it must have been worse then what he went through already”.
Celestia looked at her sister in disbelief “And how is it that you know all of this my sister you have never left the castle and the other place you have been to is the moon”.
Luna looked at her sister and gave a small smirk “You can see a lot from the moon my dear Tia”.
