"UGGGH! Come on, girls, we have to think of something sooner or later," Scootaloo, an orange pegasus filly stated. The other two nodded in approval. They had to do something. The last time they tried 'Scootering' Sweetie and Apple didn't make a single inch through the course.
They tried doing their own things, but devastated Apple Bloom. They tried singing, but Scoots and Apple might have cracked the windows. Then Sweetie had to give up half her allowance that week to window repair, which Apple Jack helped with.
Now they realized, the Cutie Mark Crusaders are nothing without each other, and had to do something they all enjoyed together. The task was not going to be a slice of cake, though.
"Ooh, ooh, I got it! How about we... uh.... take a walk! In the park!" Sweetie suggested. The two shrugged, Scootaloo grabbing her scooter and helmet, and the three set off..... to the local park.
By the first twenty minutes, they were bored out of their own fur. Apple Bloom seemed to have a light bulb appear over her head, as she waved a hoof to Joe's Donuts.
"Guess we might as well take a rest. I don't know about ya, but I sure worked up an appetite,"
"So, uh, who wants to pay?" Scootaloo inquired, showing her empty saddle bag.
"I'll pay. Lucky for you, I just got my allowance last week," Sweetie said, trotting ahead of the rest to the donut shop down the street. The sun moved from behind a cloud, brightening up the streets. Though... these fillies are not the only ones with a problem here...
Her Rainbow mane swished across her face as the alicorn held the stopwatch in her aurora. She smirked as she set the time.
"Ready, Dash?" she asked. The cyan pegasus smirked back fiercely, her body low to the ground, wings flared and hooves planted to the cloud below her. Her tail flicked as she raised an eyebrow.
"And......... GO!" Twilight yells, a cloud of dust and, well, cloud come up as the pegasus disappears. The lavender alicorn watched carefully, as Rainbow Dash sped through the entire course in unspeakable speed. A long, lengthy rainbow trail followed her behind, as she increased her speed by the second. She made a hard U-turn, then an immediate front flip, and bucked a cloud in her course, speeding back to the start.
She panted heavily as sweat ran down her head and neck, wings folded back against her sides.
"34 seconds, Dash. You may want to cut down on the ice cream, though," Twilight stated, a flat expression crossing the pegasus' face. She grunted.
"Aw, come on! I've been training for 2 hours everyday! And a mere ice cream cone stops me?!" Rainbow said, her cheeks puffing out like a grumpy filly.
Looking at the stopwatch time, Twilight shook her head and sighed. She tapped her chin with a purple hoof, then brightened up.
"Rainbow, I might be able to help with your little.... uh, problem..."
Scootaloo munched on a strawberry frosted donut in her hooves, as the other two CMC had their own flavor. She licked her lips, then dug into the donut, taking a huge bite, filling her mouth.
"So... now whut? Schyabe we should trwy to-" Scootaloo's mouthful of donuts was covered by a yellow hoof.
"Scoots, how many times do ah have ta tell ya! Don't talk with your mouth full!" Apple yelled, other mares staring blankly at her. Apple cleared her throat, wiping her mouth with a napkin.
" At Sweet Apple Acres, it's unpleasant to do so, and ya shouldn't be told that, Scoots. How old are ya anyways?" Apple asked, Sweetie sharing to look on the farm filly's face.
"Uh, I'm like 11 years old! How'd you not know that?" Scootaloo said rolling her eyes. Apple Bloom scratched the back of her neck, blushing.
"Sorry, ah never asked before..." she said, finishing her apple sauce munchkin donut. She crumpled up the bag, tossing it in the nearest trash can, then sighed.
"Come on, girls, we better hit the hay,"
"But.... it's only 2:00...."
"Ah know, but we batter rest. We've tried too much already,"
"You mean eating ice cream? Man, that's tiring. Just lifting the spoon's a workout."
"Quiet, Scootaloo!"
Twilight and Rainbow trotted through the Ponyville Mall, making three rounds around the entire thing. Rainbow's fur felt cold and her hooves were sore from walking. She had not a single clue how Twilight got her into this mess, nor did she know how long ago they had started.
"Uh, Twi, when do we stop?" Rainbow asked, trying to hide the sound of defeat in her voice.
"Getting tired, finally? Maybe we can stop for some fruit samples," Twilight suggested. Rainbow Dash shrugged, and headed towards the pony holding a tray of fruit sticks. Rainbow took one up then before it even entered her mouth, something caught her eye. A mini shack with an irresistible smell rising from it's oven. They way it stood out in front for all to see made the pegasus drool.
"Cinnamon.... pretzels?!" Rainbow mumbled, the sample pony looking at her with a confused expression. Rainbow then trotted up to Twilight who was sitting by the wall waiting for her friend.
"Uh, Twi, may I use the filly's room?" Rainbow lied, Twilight nodding.
Rainbow noticed that the line wasn't too long, so she stood there behind a colt who turned to look at her.
"Ooh, hello young mare. Wanna hang out?" he said, a gentle, but creepy voice. Rainbow's eyes went pin point, as she galloped off into the filly's room, leaving the pretzels behind. Twilight smirked.
"Nopony escapes Twilight Sparkle. Nopony at all,"
"Checkmate!" A cross-eyed grey mare shouted as a light blue mare grunted.
"Aw, come on! How do you win three fluffin' times in a fluffin' row?!" Colgate asked, banging her head on the chess table. Derpy smiled.
"I've had practice. Lots of it. Doctor's a pretty good player if I do say so myself. He taught me a thing or two." Derpy was cut off by a smell of fresh muffins coming from the oven. She flew out of her chair, bumping her head into a lampshade, the trotted towards the source of the smell. Colgate, however, took out a book and stated reading it.
A green unicorn pulled out a fresh batch of muffins, steam erupting from it in a graceful manner. Derpy drooled over them, them before the muffin could cool down, she scooped one up in a hoof, tossing it into her mouth. It was warm and soft, freshly baked as if it came from heaven. Lyra rolled her eyes, and went into the fridge for a glass of milk.
"Derpy, did you take my carton again?" she asked. The pegasus stopped in mid-bite of the blueberry muffin, then shrugged. She continued to enjoy the fresh pastry in her hooves. Lyra sighed, and checked the freezer. No milk there. She grunted, tossing her apron across the room, then headed for the guest bedroom.
Doctor Hooves was reading a 57 chapter novel, laying on his double-mattress bed. He sipped a glass of orange juice with a bagel, then fell asleep before Lyra came into the room. She checked the glass.
"Orange, not milk. How am I gonna have breakfast now?" Lyra complained.
She checked the attic.
"Spiders, not milk." She told herself, a tarantula crawling towards her, as she shut the latch. Climbing down the ladder, she decided to go outside. Her worst fear. She shivered at the thought, but then brushed the thought away.
The green unicorn put on her hoodie, hood covering head, then threw a couple bits in her saddle bags, trotting outside. The light hit her clothing, but she didn't feel the warmth. Just coldness of her clothes. She sighed again, heading to the market down the street from the house.
Her aurora lit around her saddle bag, taking out a sack filled with bits. She approached a small stand with a stallion who was selling small milk cartons. Lyra dumped the whole sack of bits on the counter, pointing to a shelf of milk, next to boxes of farm eggs.
"B-but it's only two bits!" the stallion said, taking the money. He gave the hoodie mare a stack of milk in a box, sending her off in full speed.
"Who was she anyway?"
Lyra burst through the door, throwing the hoodie on the carpet.
"Guys, a new stock of milk!" she exclaimed Derpy, Doctor, and Colgate entering the kitchen right away.
