Transformation
Sneaking into Canterlot Castle
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe first thing that I heard was the noise of nature in the background, it was really peaceful. I opened my eyes to see nothing but dense forest. My carry-on was next to me as I moved my body to stretch. When I relaxed, I felt very parched. I grabbed my bag and went through it to find my bottle of soda. It was one of the bottles that I had for the trip to the University. I opened up the bottle and drank it greedily, I knew I had two more left after I finished this one. After finishing the drink halfway, I ate a granola bar and a bag of chips for breakfast. I recollected myself after my meal and glanced at my surroundings.
Again, just dense forests all around. There was no human trail anywhere, also no sign of the vines or plants being cut. In any case, I really could get lost if I just go a few feet and never find where I was before. I lean back and looked up the tree, the sun shined through the leaves as I came up with the idea. I got up and nearly trip due to my legs feeling numb from what happened at the gas station. Then a memory flashed into my mind of the crashing wave heading towards my helpless body. My grip nearly slipped on the branch from what I was feeling. I was internally freaking out from this entire experience and my body couldn't stop quivering when I moved my body.
I finally reached the top of the tree and looked at my surroundings. There were mountains to the north, flat plains to the south, more forests to the west and a small glance of an ocean to the east. I couldn't recognize the terrain at all. Out of all the places in the world, Japan, England, and Europe, there was nothing familiar that registered into my memories. After getting a glance at the land, I had to look for structures so I could head in that direction.
My eyes widened when I saw something unbelievable. A white castle sitting on the edge of the mountain and a glistening purple crystal castle in towards the north. It was the same castles in the show that I watch with my sister. I nearly fell back into the forest because my body became numb from the realization. What... How... When... An important question popped into my head, 'Why me?' I thought.
I was still quivering from the overwhelming feeling. Sitting on a thick branch, I calmed myself with a deep breath. I collected my shattered mind and feelings to think about what was going on. When my body was calmed through my breathing exercises, I spoke aloud and list what happened to me.
"I was in a gas station with an earthquake and tsunami that killed my family. I faced a death-crushing wave a few feet away from me. The crystal that Clover gave me glowed and it teleported me to Equestria...." I thought of what I just said to only ruffle up my hair in frustration and shouting, "THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!!" The word sense echoed throughout the forest and some birds flew away into the sky.
I sighed in defeat because the power of magic in this world couldn't be explained. I climb down the tree, opened my laptop to find a map of Equestria. Eventually, I found my location with the memorization I saw from above the canopy. I had three choices to choose from; go to Twilight's Castle and explain what happened, go to Canterlot Castle and try to locate the princesses, or stay here and fend for myself against mythical creatures.
Pros for Twilight's Castle, instantaneously get connected with a Princess and establish that I'm here in Equestria. Cons, avoiding Ponyville will become a pain because I would stick out and will cause panic. Twilight's friends, especially Rainbow Dash, will see me as a monster and I would have to run for my life. Pros for Canterlot, again, establishing myself to this world and I can become friends with the two ruling Princesses. Cons, the Royal Guards might see me as a threat if I wasn't sneaking carefully. Then there is to fend for myself, and not get help whatsoever became an instantaneous answer of 'fuck that shit.'
I powered down and closed my laptop, put it away in my bag after deciding to head to Canterlot instead of heading to Ponyville. Putting my backpack on, I headed north towards the white castle. I was somewhat grateful for not having my suitcase with me because the wheels would have been gone with the vines, roots, and rocks that I had to dodge along the way. After an hour, I eventually reached the end of the forest and saw railroad track. I looked to my left, then to my right, there was no train in sight. However, I took a precaution and put my hand to feel the rail for any vibrations. Luckily, there wasn't any sign of a train coming my way.
Making my way down the tracks, I walked on the wooden planks to put some ease on my feet. I was able to walk faster towards the tunnel that was close by. I stopped at the entrance of the tunnel and looked up the mountain to see Canterlot Castle above me. I gulped again and looked around the tunnel to see if there was any 'pony made' trails that lead up to the castle. A few minutes, I found a set of stairs that was a bit steep, but I could take it. There was a moment where I thought I should leave my bag because it's gotten somewhat heavy. I asked myself why I brought it along with me and realized that this is what's left of what I have. This backpack or carry-on is the last possessions that I have from home. I shrugged as I decided to carry my backpack and walked up the stairs...
....To only regret it towards the end. My body wasn't really built to carry bags up a steep staircase up against a fucking mountain. I was only built on going to school and carrying my bag into my classroom. However, I did reach the top with what strength I had to only see a stone wall. There was a wide rocky and somewhat flat area where I could place my bag. When I did, I looked up and the castle was a few hundred feet above me. There was this sheer vertical cliff from the castle to where I was and I asked myself, "How in the world am I going to climb up there?" I didn't have any sort of mountain climbing gear and due to my body structure, I didn't have enough strength to climb up there.
Clearing some rocks aside to sit down to admire the sunset? I shook my head lightly as I realized this whole journey took a whole day to accomplished, but it was all for nothing. I sighed deeply as I let the sunset warm my body up before another night gets it cold. I scratched the back of my head as I thought about the convenient stairs that lead up to here and it only leads to a dead end. I opened my eyes and glanced at the flat vertical surface of the rock to see there was a faint glow on it. I slapped myself for my stupidity. This was a secret door that was kind of like Thorin's entrance to his castle from the Hobbit. The only difference was there was no keyhole, only a button that was next to a white illuminated wall that was shaped like a door. I pushed the button and the wall organically sunk into the cliff. The door split opened in the middle to open up an entrance. The wind rushed behind me as I grabbed my backpack and rushed into the dark and damp mountain.
The hallway from the door wasn't cramped as I thought, it was actually pleasant. The 'dark' hallway was lightly illuminated with some glowworms, which I wasn't too fussed about. When the hallway ended, I entered a small room where there was a hatch on the roof. Luckily, I found some rocks that were big enough to climb on to unlock this door. I unlocked the door and saw a set of stairs going up. I sighed as I moved my suitcase and carry-on up the door so I could carry them up more stairs. 'This beats trying to climb a vertical wall.' I thought as I tried to keep my eyes opened from the tiredness.
I didn't know how long I was climbing the stairs, but now I kind of feel like Mario climbing the endless stairs on Super Mario 64. I chuckled at my own misfortune when I finally saw the door illuminated with some wood burning torches. I quickly made my way up to stop suddenly to think about the situation. There could be a Royal Guard guarding the entrance to this entrance. With my free hand, I opened the door and peeked inside. To my surprise, there was nopony to be found. Either this was a secret entrance or the Royal Guards are on break. I walked inside and found out that the door, was in fact, part of the marble wall.
When I closed the door lightly and made sure I found the handle in case I needed a quick escape. Examining the room, I put my free hand over my mouth as I nearly gasped in astonishment. The room that I was in, was in fact, the Royal Throne Room for both the Day and Night Court. I gazed at the glass panes that explained the adventures that the main six were on. I placed my suitcase and backpack behind the royal seat but heard the double doors open from the front entrance. I held my breath as I sat right behind the seat. It was either the Royal Guards on their patrol or it could be the princesses themselves.
"Tell me again why you must assist me on the Night Court?" A familiar voice asked.
"You know as well as I do, last evening, something foreign came from the Everfree Forest. While you were waking up, I had to inform Twilight about it so she could investigate." A warm motherly tone explained.
'Holy crap.' I thought. The Solar and Lunar Princess are in the same room with me. My heart was beating repeatedly as I tried to calm myself down from the nervousness and excitement of this situation. I literally had to hold my mouth with my hand so I could breathe lightly so they couldn't hear me. They continued.
Luna sighed, "I understand that you're trying to protect me from this anomaly, but shouldn't you be worried about the creature who used our secret exit?"
I nearly exploded the word 'HOW?!' by letting out a big sigh. How could they have found me so soon? Though to be fair, I didn't take a shower last night so I might smell like sweat and a bit of forest. I decided to not avoid the problem and spoke my mind.
"You are very perspective Luna and I respect that very much. Celestia, I might be that foreign being you're looking for." I said.
"Who are you?" Luna spoke first.
I sighed, "I am nobody, to be honest, I was somehow teleported to your land of Equestria from my world that is suffering a huge disaster on a tectonic level."
There was silence between us until the solar princess spoke, "Can you reveal yourself to us? We're curious about you."
I chuckled slightly and I said, "Can I have your word that you won't hurt me in any way?" There was silence, I gripped my knees to where my knuckles are turning white and I continued, "My mind is trying to settle down after what happened last night and if I was put into the dungeons of this castle, I don't think I could stay sane for very long."
"I don't sense any harm coming from you and I have no reason to strike upon a creature that is defenseless," Celestia reassured me.
I sighed as I stood up and carefully walked towards them. As I made my way, I noticed that the goddesses were the same height as I was, except for their horns of course. I was shaking when I stood in front of them and didn't know what to say. I just looked at them in awe as the world seemed to slow down around me.
"Are you alright?" Luna spoke to end the silence.
I breathed in and out to calm down, "I don't think I am."
"What do you mean?" Celestia asked.
I smiled a bit, "I don't think I've introduced myself, my name is Trey, I'm a human from a planet named Earth and I've somehow teleported to your world through a near traumatic death experience."
They looked at one another as I continued, "My family lived near the coast and I was on my way to a University. When we stopped by the nearest city, there was a huge earthquake that shook everything and I was meeting face to face with a wall of seawater." I held out my crystal that was hiding under my shirt, "This crystal glowed and teleported me into the Everfree Forest and I wanted to find you to immediately so I can tell you that I'm not a threat whatsoever."
There was a nice silence between us three and they seemed to take it well. Celestia showed her warm smile as she headed towards me, "I suppose you had this all planned then?"
I nodded, "Yes, but I really didn't expect to walk into a secret entrance of this wonderful room."
Luna giggled lightly, "Celestia and I used that room when we were fillies and young mares. We would usually disguise ourselves as our subjects to see how our world would be evolving."
"Lulu, not so loud near the guards," Celestia warned.
Luna stuck out her tongue to her, "There are no guards near here, they're in a party with Shining Armor."
I raised my eyebrow, "I'm sure not all the guards are there to have a party, surely there has to be some left to guard the castle?" I wondered.
Celestia nodded, "Shining Armor is on vacation and needed to get away from being a Prince of the Crystal Empire for several days before returning to his wife."
"Cadance?" I asked.
"Yes..." Luna answered, "I'm curious about how you know about us so much because I don't sense any kind of magic on you that could read our minds."
I blushed a bit from embarrassment, "Well, I know you all from watching, to be honest." They raised an eyebrow as I continued, "I suppose you have theater plays?" I wondered.
"Yes, but I don't see how this will explain anything." Celestia wondered.
I cleared my throat, "Let's just say I've been watching you play out a story with Twilight as the main character of the play. She became friends with Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Pinkie Pie to eventually defeat Nightmare Moon. I've followed all of their adventures with you both and Cadance watching over Equestria. The last time I watched this 'play' was when Twilight became a Princess when completing Starswirl the Bearded's spell. Then the disaster happened and now here I am with knowledge of this world." There was silence and before Celestia or Luna could ask I raise an arm up and spoke, "Am I a threat to you? No, I am not. Will I be using this information for evil use? Nope, I'm not that kind of guy whatsoever."
Luna had her jaw dropped from my explanation as Celestia looked at me right in the eyes, "I can sense that you are an honest gentlecolt and I don't see why you shouldn't stay here and be our guest until you get settled. Don't you agree, Lulu?"
Luna shook her head a bit, "Sorry, Trey's explanation seems a bit unreal. It might take me a while for me to take this in."
I raised my hand, "I'm just as confused as you are."
Celestia looked at the sun and nodded, "Let's lead you to a guest room so you can settle down and rest for the next day."
It took us several minutes to walk around the castle to the living quarters where the guest rooms were. We walked up the stairs when I recognized the room that I was going into. It was Rarities room when she was staying at Canterlot that one time, but the furniture was rearranged a bit. I looked around the room to see a half bath (toilet and sink room) to my left, a king size bed in the middle and a desk to my right.
"Will this be alright until we find a permanent solution for you?" Celestia asked.
I nodded as Luna brought my bag into her magical grasp and placed them next to my desk. I could tell that she was curious about these items, but she was stopped when Celestia cleared her throat. Luna composed herself and trotted along out the door saying, "I'll be starting Night Court Tia."
Celestia lightly nodded her head, but smiled as well, "I'll leave you for tonight."
I bowed a bit to her, "Goodnight, Celestia."
She smiled from that, "Goodnight Trey."
I closed the door when she left the room as I stood next to the dresser to take in what just happened. It was then I noticed the carpet of Luna's Moon and Celestia's Sun in the center of a twilight colored background.
"Unfucking real." I sighed as I walked forward to my bag that was placed near the desk.
I grabbed my carry-on, opened it, to only find a note and a medium sized gift box. I started to tremble when I saw the familiar wrapping paper that was used for my families Christmas presents. I looked at the note and read it's contents:
'Trey,
We are so proud that you made it this far so early in your life. We love you so much that we decided to give you a gift for the days your not studying. Make sure you get out there to change the world for the better.
Love,
Mom and Dad.
P.S. Hey! This is your sister Clover! Don't forget to skype me so we can watch MLP episodes together.'
I nearly crippled the note and dropped it to the floor instead to form my hand into a fist. My breath was shortened, my heart as pounding, tears were streaming down my cheeks as my knees buckled and I fell to the floor. I sobbed into my hands as my body naturally curled up into a ball. My carry-on fell to its side and the gift fell next to my face. I lie there on the floor, staring at my present that we stuffed into my backpack, the image of my family still in my memories. It was then the door opened and I kept my eyes shut, I looked like a pathetic loser whoever is coming to see me.
"Oh." It was Celestia's voice sounding surprised at me, "What happened?" I turned my body to the other side and looked at her.
"I-I..." I tried to speak, but my throat wasn't cooperating. I covered my face with my hands and started to sob into them as I heard her walking towards me.
I felt a magical glow warming my body I opened my blurry eyes to see Celestia's sympathetic face as she covered her right wing over me. She sighed, "You've been through so much in your first hours here and I believe you need rest." I didn't feel tired at first, but then I yawned like I haven't slept for so long. My eyes got heavy as I fell into a deep sleep.
The moment Trey went to sleep, I levitated him to the guest bed. I glanced at his face with concern, even though he didn't show it through his resting face, he was suffering from the inside. Once the final blanket covered his body, I picked up the gift-wrapped box to the desk with the note next to it. I didn't read the note because I respected his privacy. After everything was settled, I trot out of the room so I could meet up with Luna.
It didn't take me long to enter the two front doors of the Night Court. Luna sat on the Royal Chair with her Thestral Royal Guards by her sides as I walked up to her.
"How's our guest?" Luna asked as she looked through some paperwork.
I closed my eyes, "I didn't want to bring it up to him when we first sensed his distress," I sighed, "However, we should have talked to him about his grief. Trey was crying out of sadness and grief." I looked at my sister, "Could you visit his dreams and give him some comfort?"
"Tia," Luna spoke as she set the papers aside with her aura, "I've been concerned about him when he first came into our Castle. Not only is he in distress, somehow he knows about us and our world, but he is clearly holding back a secret that has peaked my interests." She sighed and looked at the glass window to her left, "To answer your question, I'll see what I can do when I'm in the dreamscape in a few hours."
I smiled to what she said, "Thank you, sister," I covered my mouth with my hoof as I yawned, "Oh before I turn in for the night, have you informed your Night Royal Guard about our guest?"
Luna nodded, "I've already informed them and they understand the situation." I nodded as she continued, "Now you have to inform your Day Royal Guards and the Maids for the morning."
"Thank you and goodnight, Lulu," I said as I turned my back to trot towards the doors.
"Goodnight, Tia," Luna said as I heard the sound of ruffled papers.
As I made my way to my room, I glanced at the tower where Trey was sleeping at. I just couldn't help but wonder what kind of experience that he had to go through. 'That will be for another day, Tia.' I thought as I entered my living quarters. I took off my regalia and crown with my magic to set them aside on the dresser. I used a fire magic spell on the fireplace to set the new logs, that was put by the maids, and ignite them to warm up the area. Once that was finished, I lie down on my bed as I looked at the starry sky before I finally went to sleep knowing that my little ponies are resting and relaxing for the evening.

What do you guys think? I think I'm doing very well in rebooting this. Here is a comparison for this chapter. A lot more dramatic in this one isn't it?
