Chapter 20-Never!

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Apple Bloom stared down, glad she had discovered a way to vent her anger. Her heart had felt much pain, much hardship since falling down into the underground but she had been right in the beginning. Don't get attached and trust no one. Then, when they left this cursed place behind, it would be painless and easy.

What was the point of making friends if they were leaving so soon? What was the point to trust anyone? To trust Sans! She had had no reason to do so! Why?! Why had she been so foolish?! He is responsible!

"Are you just going to stare at me with a blank expression on you're face?" rudely said her victim, a single hoof-made arrow pinning him by a sliver to the wall by his top right petal. "You are, aren't you?" She faced him, a rude answer to get rid of at least part of her bottled up feelings. However, he had other plans. He rolled his eyes, a bored act masking the panic he held behind his eyes. He had been caught by her and boy was she proud!

"Is that Sans' scarf? Golly! That's so absolutely amazing! Not! How did you even get your hands or hooves on that?! Doesn't he keep that hidden ever since... Hey! So that's where I recognise you from! You look just like Apple Charm, a big loss that one!" He looked at her, his eyes black pits, a cruel smile on his face. He glanced at Scootaloo again. "Where did you get that?"

"Bonnie" Scootaloo spoke while Sweetie cowered behind the pair of them.

"Why'd you tell him?" The both of them however ignored her as they stared at each other, their expressions were unreadable.

Finally, Flowey laughed. "I really doubt that! An Illusion gave you that for sure!" He turned his 'head' towards the cowering figure behind them. "Talking about Illusions... there's one on your back..."

Sweetie jumped as he laughed again, a cold, merciless smile. They spun around to check what they meant. Nothing... that little... She turned to give him a piece of her mind but found only the arrow stuck in the same position. He had ripped most of it, whatever was left of that petal was unfix-able. Although she had given him a head start.

She shouted as she plucked the arrow from the wall, angry at being fooled by such a trick. "Yo! Calm down!" Apple Bloom jumped at the voice talking from just behind her. She spun around holding the arrow in defense. "Woah! It's just me! Kid! Ya know, the monster that helped you out earlier?"

"Oh, that's right! Sorry... Kid was it? I'm just so jumpy cause..."

"Yo! I'm jumpy too! I'm about to see the most awesome person ever! I'm guessing you are too cause why else would you be jumpy?!"

"And that person would be?"

"Ha ha, good one! You're joking... right? I mean how could you not know about Undyne?!"

"Uhh... no?"

"Yo! That's impossible! You'd have to live on the surface for you to not at least know her name! She's amazing! She's the captain of the royal guard! She beats up bad guys and capture pony's souls! Yo! If I was a pony I would be like... Super scared but I'm not..."

"Right..." She started only to be interrupted once again. Ponies were so rude these days... Celestia she sounded old saying that...

"Do you're parents know? That you're here I mean..."

This caught the little monster of guard."M-My parents? Of course they know! Totally! Yeah, my parents..." He smiled and Sweetie shrugged but Scootaloo had a knowing smile on her face as she turned and walked. Sweetie slowly fell into step behind her as they approached the familiar station. Apple Bloom turned towards Kid and smiled.

"So, you're joining us I guess. Wouldn't want you getting hurt or lost! Least we can do for earlier!"

"Yo! Really? Awesome!" He ran off towards the other two, tripping in the process. "I'm Okay!" Apple Bloom rolled her eyes but Flowey's words were still at the back of her mind... What had he meant 'an Illusion did it?'

Author's Note

Golly! That took a while but here it is! And I'm even nice enough to give you a warning for the future:

Don't fall into the trap as deep
as the mountain they keep,
Instead keep in mind something told
in a tale of old,
Don't fall into the trap
of a mere illusion in the dark

Gee, aren't I nice! This makes no sense to you and it might never but just keep it in mind, do that for me... please?
