Sweetie Belle
Chapter 4- Eating some pie
As she walked away from Blooky, her friends broke out into chatter, occasionally bringing up the subject of his sudden happiness. He had recognised something in her, but what? She had only been imitating Rarity. Rarity... Her thoughts floated back to when she had first fallen, the darkness, the blankness in her mind. She shuddered and then looked up, not wanting to bring attention to herself. After making sure that her friends hadn't noticed, she put her smile on her face.
The first thoughts, memories were of her sister and the need of her comforting. The embrace and sweet smell of her shampoo. Had she noticed her sister had disappeared? Or was she to busy making the dresses for Sapphire Shores? Had she just assumed that Sweetie had gone to her friends for a sleepover? No, Rarity would have noticed... right?
Rarity could never understand why she hung around Discord and Pinkie so much. Neither could Apple Bloom. Especially Apple Bloom. The one of them that had a large loving family. She could never understand how everyone in such a large family always knew what to do, in what situation. Like when the Clan had built a barn... in a day! They were so united! They would never comprehend how, for instance, her parents had said a week or two when they left for vacation and now it had been half a year since they had last been in contact.
Pinkie was one of those ponies that could always bring a smile to everypony, even the grumpy meanies! She knew every technique and would never stop. Discord? Well, he was Discord. His antics would always distract her from life. When she had been searching for her Cutie Mark, she had been distracted but now she had to keep herself occupied. She started to run forward, there was a crossroad ahead and going onward first seemed like a grand idea.
The room she had ran into was pretty much empty except two cobwebs and a sign. She sighed as the annoyed shouts of her friends echoed beyond the arch. Approaching one of the cobwebs, she noticed something shiny in the corner of the room. With curiosity, she ignored her friends attempts at getting her attention, and picked the sparkle up. On closer inspection, it was a bit. Overhead, on the ceiling, were some spiders.
They seemed out of place and then she noticed it. A big bag made of cobwebs had split, causing the bits inside to slowly fall out, one by one. Carefully she prodded one of the spiders with her magic and gave it back the bit.
"Mr Spider, you're bag split and... and this fell out." The spider in question nodded, grabbed the bit and leaned into his friend. It immediately scuttled off before returning with 3 donuts. It and a few others lowered themselves, giving each filly a donut. While her friends were bemused, Sweetie thanked the spider. She was going to put it away before realising she had nowhere to put it. The spiders picked up on this, giving her a bag. It was similar to the one that had split but was much older. She once again thanked the spiders and turned to her friends.
"Make sure to keep an eye on that bag and don't give up hope for whatever you're doing!" she called over her shoulder as they left. She carefully placed all the donuts inside of the cobweb bag as well as the 7 bits they had collected thus far.
"I'll carry it" Scoots swung the bag onto her bag, the 'strings' around each wing.
"Ah you sure Scoots?"
"100% sure Bloom!"
They continued on their way, carefully talking and acting their way through enemies that had not received or completely ignoring Roberts word. They now only had 2 donuts and 15 bits. However they had gained a lot more friends.
Their adventure ended with a game of tag with the 3 of them and some Froggits, before they ran into a room with a giant tree in the middle. There was Toriel beside it, dialing a number on the phone. She looked up, surprised when she noticed them. Then she noticed the Froggits and death-stared them. Scootaloo waved sadly when they hopped away.
"Are you alright? I should not have left for so long, of course you would get bored eventually. It took a long time to get all the ingredients."
"Ingredients! Are we going to be baking something?" Apple Bloom loved to bake, it was like a Apple Clan thing.
"I have already made you something, oh, oops. Well I might as well show you now. Follow me." Toriel turned towards the house behind the tree. It was a nice little place, simple and practical but with a certain charm to it. Perfect for someone like Toriel. The outside of the place was deceiving, the inside was massive.
"Woah!" Scoots growing up... Wait, where had she grown up? It wasn't that she didn't want to know, it was essential to know things like this. It was just that whenever they asked Scootaloo would go awfully quiet and would just change the subject. All they knew was that her current home was an orphanage. They had agreed it just wasn't worth ruining the mood and had stopped asking.
"It is not as big once you get used to it, my dear, now follow me, I would like to show you something before we eat." Toriel turned right and went down the hallway. Eager to explore the mysterious house, the girls followed. To say the least, they were disappointed when she came to stop at the first door they reached.
"Surprise, a room for you 3 in the house! Do you... you like it?" Toriel looked at their reaction nervously.
"A room? Were staying?" The three of them shouted in unison but each voice saying it in a different tone of voice. Surprised, excited and confused voices echoed along the hallway.
"Yes? Wait, is that something burning? Make yourselves at home!" Toriel ran off, although no scent reached their noses.
"Girls, were staying?"
"Of course not!" Apple Bloom stomped her hoof. "We have families to get back to..."
"Well, Miss Apple, not everypony does. Plus we can't, it would break her heart! After everything she's done for us?" The sound of hoof against floor echoed down the hallway. Scootaloo was enraged.
"Scootaloo! Apple Bloom! We are all tired! We should take a nice, long, relaxing nap." She had only been saying it to distract them but after she had said it she realised how tired she was. She yawned and soon they all were yawning. They slowly trotted into the room. They all collapsed onto they only bed in the room and fell asleep, a new HOPE in they're hearts.
