Chapter 1.
The sunrise from Ponyville, a beautiful daily gift, was always welcomed to the vast majority of townfolk. Its gentle embrace was comforting as well as invigorating. Birds singing their morning tunes echoing throughout the town, while a rooster in the distance performed his daily cock-a-doodle-do to accompany the sunrise. In town, the scents of just-baked muffins and other delectable treats by the Cakes waffed through the vents of Sugarcube Corner, permeating all of town, including a humongous crystallized tree near the center of town.
The Castle of Friendship seemed so out of place--personally it would be something from a certain fashionista’s brainstorms. Strangely enough though, the crystal tree castle seemed right at home among the numerous humble other residences and businesses. How would it be at home, you say? Well, the crystal tree had became a bit of a tribute to a former tree library that also was close to the center of town, a fitting tribute to the former Golden Oak Library, destroyed by previous enemy attacks at a time which Equestria was in great peril. Another reason that the crystal tree was so well received by the townsfolk was that it was not simply a replacement, but it became a loved home for two residents that over the years since their initial arrival in from Canterlot became pillars of the community, along with five other well-known Ponyville residents. Together the seven of them are better known as the Elements of Harmony, not to mention that without those seven the Castle of Friendship would not exist.
But enough about the past. Let’s talk about the present.
Currently the Castle of Friendship is now home to three residents--a lovely alicorn princess by the name of Twilight Sparkle, with a new title--the Princess of Friendship. Makes sense, a Princess definitely needs a castle. With Twilight, she is joined by her trusty assistant Spike the Dragon, and the newest boarder was Twilight’s very first student, a very powerful and gifted unicorn named Starlight Glimmer. Starlight was once considered evil due to the loss of a dear friend and for a lack of better judgment, she became evil. But thanks to Twilight getting her to see that it is in her best interest to try to make new friends even when old ones are lost or fade away, Starlight has finally started to see the light side of it and to take friendship to chance.
Today was starting to be a typical Tuesday morning inside the castle of friendship. The slight glare of the approaching sunlight creeped through the open window, reaching a sleeping Starlight Glimmer’s closed eyelids. Groaning in a little disgust, she struggled to open her eyes thanks to that glare and sat up, revealing part of a quite sensual translucent nightgown that accented a quite attractive package of young mare that any young stallion would be proud to call his own. A twinkle of her turquouis-colored magic highlighted the window blinds, and magicked them to close, preventing any possible straggling peeping pegasi or even the somewhat perverted sun from getting an unexpected and free peep show. Yawning, Starlight stretched her arms over her head to stretch, then sat on the left side of her bed. Standing up from the bed, she could fill a slight pinch in her lower abdomen.
“Looks like before I do anything else, I have to answer nature’s call. I should have plenty of time to find a bathroom before things could get critical.”
That little statement had become a bit of an inside joke among the three housemates, as well as the rest of the Mane 6. Simply put, Starlight had an atrocious sense of direction. It was at least a weekly basis that she tended to get lost inside the Castle of Friendship. For a tree, it had a surprisingly large amount of space. One could even say that it looked like there was more room and space inside than what it shows on the outside. It’s almost like a pocket dimension considering the dozens of unexplored rooms and secret passageways. And of course, every door was the same. Wouldn’t hurt to put some signs in. So it came to pass the first attempt, the first door Starlight opened….
A broom closet. This time the brooms and other cleaning equipment wouldn’t avalanche on Starlight like the previous time where she was buried in them. Well…time to check on door number two.
This one, Starlight looked at first glance, was different from all the others. For one, it wasn’t closed, just ajar a bit slightly. Starlight could see that it was indeed a bathroom, and a very welcome one. Welcoming that since Starlight got from bed the need to answer nature’s call had gradually increased as she journeyed from room to room, and at the point, it wasn’t quite to bursting, but the call was more intense than at wakeup. And this was a call that pretty soon would not be put on hold.
Considering this was a palace bathroom, every detail was exquisite. The wall constructed with blue crystal, the vanity also made from crystal with twin basins built into it. The toilet, just like everything else made from crystal, with an twist--it also warms the seat for anyone that wanted to use it. Opposite from the toilet stood a shower stall which was large enough to accompany three beings comfortably, and finally a large Jacuzzi bath to complete the works. Not to forget, thanks to Spike, the bathroom was fully stocked, with toiletries, bathing cloths, loofah, and more. This bathroom even had products for dragons, such as scale sharpeners, grinding stone, and more. And most of all, this bathroom also had a rather dashing and ripped purple dragon with green belly scales and purple head spikes, accompanied by a shapely alabaster unicorn with purple mane and a hourglass figure that would make a supermodel like Fleur-de-Lis jealous.
Wait.
A purple and green dragon? And an shapely alabaster unicorn? In the same bathroom that Starlight was about to relieve herself in?!
None other than Spike and Rarity were there in the bathroom...oblivious to the fact that Starlight came in unannounced.
Now normally that would be fine and dandy, sometimes there would be more than one person in the restroom, usually because of quick first-aid. Even the simple "I'm in here" would suffice and allow the user his or her wanted privacy.
Apparently these two either failed to notice the message or just didn't care.
Even though this was a surprising sight to Starlight, the first thing she noticed were that Spike and Rarity were--for a lack of words--making out, plain and simple.
Second thing that she noticed were that she apparently was the only pony that actually was wearing nighwear at the time, because both the newly discovered couple were in their collective birthday suits, or au naturale, as Rarity would say it. They were in the bathroom, but not taking a bath nor a shower.
"Spike and Rarity are actually dating? When did this happen? I though that they were just good friends," Starlight mused to herself. "Even better though, how would they even kept it secret for this long? If anything I would think Pinkie would already know about this. And since Twilight lives here I would think she's seen Rarity and Spike a bit closer than normal."
At this moment, a slight pang came through Starlight's heart. Apparently Spike was taken now, but that wouldn't harm the growing friendship between Spike and herself. She did wanted to have her shot though, just that Rarity swept in first.
But there's time to mourn about missed opportunities later. Right now, Starlight had stumbled into Spike’s personal bathroom by mistake.
Spike turned to his left and saw Starlight in her nightgown, jaws slightly dropped, a growing blush on her cheeks as well as a slight twitch in her left eye. Following to where her eyes were focused on, he squeaked, which startled Rarity.
"Spikey, I was enjoying that, it is rather rude to interupt."
"I think that we have bigger issues than me breaking a kiss, Rare. We've got company."
Rarity twisted her head to Spike's direction, also realizing Starlight standing in the bathroom opening.
"Oh dear. Starlight darling, how long have you been here?"
“Uhhhhhhh…..long enough.”
