Band and Fluttershy have been good together so far, now. There's been arguments, of course, but they always seem to be resolved to make up afterwards. But now, Fluttershy must bring herself to tell Band something that she never thought about.

What Should I Do?

"Oh no," Fluttershy said, looking at the pregnancy test. Positive. She begins to tear up with fear and worry as her hand holding the object trembles.

She, instantly, grabs her phone off the bathroom sink and Band knocks on the door, "You okay, sweetie?"

Fluttershy hesitates, "Y-Yeah, I'm okay." She looks at her contacts and taps on Rainbow Dash's. It rings.

"Ring... Ring... Click."

"What do you need, Fluttershy?" Dash answers happily surprised that she called, "I'm in the middle of coaching a game, but I got some time."

Fluttershy lowers her voice to a whisper, "I... Um... I'm pregnant."

"What!?" Dash yells, even more surprised, "Really?"

"Y-Yeah," Fluttershy sighs. She had thought of Dash would be worried too, but she seemed happy for her, "Could you come over?"

"Yeah, I can get someone to fill me in."

"Okay thanks."

"No problem, bye."

"Bye," Fluttershy hangs up and quickly stuffs the phone in her pocket as she exits the bathroom. As Fluttershy comes out, Band is standing outside the door with Blue Ray and Angel on his sides. All three seemed concerned, but didn't know about Fluttershy's situation.

"Bubblegum, you okay?" Band asks.

She pauses, "Yeah. Dash and I are going to hang out. Okay?"

"Alright," Band says, "but can you be home no later than ten?"

"Yeah."

Fluttershy waits on her porch and Dash soon makes it. Dash decides that they should go see their friends and Fluttershy softly agrees.

"What's up?" Pinkie asks, seeing that this get-together is a bit strangely appointed. Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie, and Applejack were all waiting for an answer. Everyone was sitting on two benches in the park. Fluttershy chose the park for a comforting environment.

"Fluttershy needed us," Dash explains.

"What's wrong, Fluttershy?" Twilight asks, seeing Fluttershy shift in her seat uncomfortably.

"I... Um..," She hesitates again, "You guys know how me and Band have had a relationship for a year now, right?"

All of her friends, except Dash, nod.

"Well," Fluttershy continues, "me and him have done what couples normally do together and... Well," She twiddles her fingers.

"And what, dear?" Rarity asks.

"Yeah," Apple Jack adds, "You can tell us."

"I'm pregnant," Fluttershy blurts out quickly.

Everyone, then, seems shocked, but Pinkie who looks like she's going to explode with joy.

"I knew it!" Pinkie screams, "All of those cravings!"

"Oh yeah," Fluttershy says softly, remembering all the times she asked Pinkie for strange and new cupcake flavors.

"Sweetie," Rarity says to Fluttershy to comfort her, "have you told Band?"

"No."

"Well you shouldn't keep it a secret from him," Twilight explains, "It is his baby too."

"Well, how should I tell him?" Fluttershy asks. Everyone was struck speechless. None of them had any experience in this. In fact, they didn't quite expect Fluttershy to commit to sex to get pregnant, ever.

Dash tried to make some sort of plan for her, "Tell him at dinner. Think of some way to bring up the subject." She rests her arm behind Fluttershy's neck to comfort her.

"Yeah, okay."

Apple Jack walks over to Fluttershy, "Just don't push yourself too hard."

"Okay."

That night, when Band and Fluttershy are at Band's home sitting at the dinner table, Fluttershy feels her heart racing with anxiety. She's trying to stay calm as she eats.

"The pasta's good, Bubblegum," Band says and Fluttershy looks up to him as he smiles, "You're really good at making this."

Fluttershy's heart slows back down a little from her lover's kind compliment. She gives a smile and a nod and goes back to eating. Band takes note of this as strange for her to be even this quiet.

"Fluttershy, are you okay?"

This is it. She has to tell him.

"Um, Band?" She starts.

"Yeah?"

"You know when we... Um... last made love?"

"Yeah." Band says feeling this is, indeed, strange.

"Well, I took a test today to see if I'm pregnant."

Band drops his fork in his pasta and he stutters, "Y-You did? What was the results?"

She begins to tear up again, "It was positive," and begins balling.

Band sits there, shocked, but soon puts back on a kindhearted smile. He stands up and walks around the table to her. He gives her a hug as she stops crying and whispers to her with tears of joy coming from his eyes, "This is beautiful."

She sniffs, "R-Really?"

"Yes," Band answers, "This is what we wanted. Right?"

She stops hyperventilating, "Yeah."

"It's okay, Bubblegum. What was wrong?"

She looks up at him, "How-sniff-How are we going to take care of it?"

Band gives her a softly surprised smile, "Isn't Fluttershy's deal kindness? And you do care for animals. This'll be no problem."

"And what about you?"

"I'll be there."

"You're not going to leave?"

Band seems struck harshly by the idea, "I'll be there," He says, determined, "I won't leave. I want to be with you. I want this."

She smiles and begins to have tears of joy as well. They sit there and hold each other close until they both head to bed.

Fluttershy

It was the day of Fluttershy's baby shower, where Band was elsewhere still finding a second job while Fluttershy sits at Sugarcube Corner with her friends. He belly has grown a little since she had told Band about the newcomer and she has gone to wearing blouses.

"Who's ready for cake!?" Pinkie asks, bringing out a big red cake topped with white frosting.

"I could have some," Fluttershy says.

"I'm sure you could," Rarity agrees, "I've heard that girls who become pregnant tend to eat more then they usually do."

"Oh," Fluttershy says, feeling a little concerned.

"Oh, but don't worry, dear. It's natural."

"Okay," She says. Pinkie walks over to them and places the cake on the table in the middle of everyone and slices a piece of cake for Fluttershy.

"Just save some for me," Pinkie jokes. Fluttershy looks at her cake and remembers Band for a reason.

"Girls," Fluttershy says. Everyone looks to her, "do you think Band could be an okay dad?"

It's silent for a moment and Twilight says, "Well, that's not our place."

"Oh, sorry."

"Fluttershy," Dash comes in to the conversation, "if you had to ask me. I'd say that, based on past experiences and challenges he's overcome, Band may surprise you."

Fluttershy smiles, "He might. Thank you, Dash."

Band

"I need a job, Derpy," Band said to her at the front post office counter.

"Well, we may have an opening that opened recently," She said, picking up a notepad and flipping through the pages. One eye fixed on the notepad, "Yeah, right here. We need a deliverer that can drive through town correctly. I can't really drive." She blushes slightly.

"Great," Band sighed, "So when can I apply."

"Just write out this application," Derpy places a paper on the counter that she got out of her desk, "and you'll see if you're hired."

"Kay, thanks," Band grabs the paper and fills it out to hand it back to Derpy.

"Alright," She says placing it in an empty basket labelled "Application", "You're halfway there."

Band walks out and Bulk Biceps calls. Band answers as he walks to his car, "Yeah?"

"Dude! Are you coming to hang out, or what!?" Bulk screams enthusiastically.

Band cringes and pulls his head away from the phone. Bulk always screamed into the phone, "Yeah, man. I'm on my way," He opens the driver's door and gets in, "Just be less loud. Kay?"

"Will do!" Bulk yells a little quieter.

Band hangs up and calls Fluttershy.

"Ring... Ring... Click."

"Yes, Band?" She asks.

"Just wanted to check on you," He says, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," She says happily, "Thank you."

"Kay. Just call if you need me."

"Did you find a job, yet?" Fluttershy asks.

"I found a place and signed an application, now I'm going to Bulk Biceps' party he's throwing me."

"Alright, love you."

"Love you, too."

"Click."

Fluttershy

Fluttershy hangs up and stuffs the phone in her pocket.

"What'd he need?" Apple Jack asked.

"He was just checking to see if I'm okay," Fluttershy answers.

"See there," Applejack says, giving a smile, "That shows how much he cares."

"We're out of cake," Pinkie says, "but I can make more!" She gives a gleaming smile.

"No," Fluttershy declines, "that's enough cake."
