The Lemonade Scratches
Meet Vinyl
Load Full StoryA great battle had begun. The Canterlot Wondercolt team yelled a battle cry and charged out to face the enemy. Gunshots filled the air, the sound of running footsteps had begun, and.... Paint began to splatter. This was all happening in a game of paintball. Classmates and friends joined together to form their own paintball teams, and they faced other school teams in the warzone. Canterlot High School students had come to play paintball to defend their team and school. But little do their enemies know that they would slowly emerge and defeat them all.
Two members on the team, one Indigo Zap and a Lemon Zest were running through the open area of land and ran right into a shed. Lemon then took her mask and wiped the sweat off her forehead as she breathed heavily from the run. "Whew... that was close." Indigo stated. "Too close Indy." Lemon replied. Suddenly some other members came charging in, this time running in was Sunset, Flash, Tox, and Aria.
"There's no way we can reach the ridge, the Cloudsdale Pegasi have us all cut off!" Flash panicked.
"Well, what about the bridge that crosses the small river?" Indigo asked.
"The Everfree Timberwolves call that spot. They're all basking in the nature of the forest around them." Tox replied.
"We need a plan guys, why not Operation Battle of the Bands?" Sunset asked.
"Which one is that?" Lemon asked.
"We ambush them near the wooden castle walls with the stereo and music to keep them off guard" Sunset replied.
"No, bad idea. The castle walls are part of the Manehatten Jewelers, they've got some of the best weaponry, and they've never been taken down. Because they're rich." Aria responded.
"Well why not just charge towards the Crystal Gardens?" Lemon asked.
"The Crystal Gardens belong to the Shadowbolts, they never take their eyes off it." Tox finished.
Indigo gave a bit of an evil smirk. "Well, maybe today we can get their eyes off of it? Give them something to chase, and then we take it."
Everyone then gave evil smiles except for Sunset. She may have enjoyed playing paintball, but she never enjoyed being evil or getting evil ideas due to the Fall Formal incident.
"I like your thinking Indigo. I say we take it." Aria stated.
"Anyone on board?" Tox asked. Then everyone gave a resounding "Yes", and so they had a plan. "Alright everyone, on three. One, two, three. GO!" They all then charged out of the shed giving a battle yell except for Lemon who paused for a moment, only for Indigo to run back to check on her. "You coming Lemon?" Indigo asked.
"I'll be there soon, I just need to tie my boots before I run out."
"Alright well don't be long, don't want any of the enemy to come in." Indigo finished before leaving. Lemon then finished tying her boot, but someone else came into the shed. The person made a ninja roll into the shed and then standing back up pointed her rifle at Lemon and she froze in surrender, and waved her hands up. "I surrender, don't shoot dude!"
"Lemon, I'm on your side."
"Oh Vinyl, its you."
It was Vinyl Scratch who had rolled into the shed. She was one of the most popular kids at Canterlot High, mostly for her contribution to helping the Rainbooms fight against the now formerly-evil sirens. Plus she hung out with Lemon Zest near the end of the Friendship Games, when it was nearly time for the Shadowbolts to pack up their things and head back to their school.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I thought you were someone else."
"Its alright. I'm glad to see its just a friend, and not an enemy."
"So, where's your squad?" Vinyl asked while wiping the sweat off of her forehead.
"They went to charge down the Shadowbolts at the Crystal Gardens. Apparently what they plan on doing is getting them to run out of their safe house and then once they're out they'll open fire and shoot them. Where's your group?"
"They all got shot down by some of the Everfree Timberwolves. Tavi, Lyra, Bon Bon, Trixie, they're all down."
"I'm sorry."
"Its okay. They weren't good shots anyway. And Trixie constantly gave away our position with her yelling about herself in third person." Vinyl replied.
"I bet that can get a little annoying?"
"Yeah, but I deal with it. Sometimes my friends can think I'm a bit of an annoyance. Either because I'm not listening or my headset is up too loud."
"My friends are like that too. They can get irritated if I'm not listening to them."
Both nodded in agreement, and both paused in a moment of conversation. And in a second, they both flinched at the sound of more paint-balls going off, but the only collision they made was with the shed wall.
"Geez, can these guys aim straight?" Vinyl stated.
"I have no idea. Anyways... I take it you like music?" Lemon asked trying to get the paintball war out of their minds.
"Yeah I do. I love a majority of music. Electronic, rock and roll, heavy metal, just don't feed me any classical stuff. I can't stand it."
"Neither can I! I almost fell asleep in a concert because of that kind of music. And, wait, you like heavy metal?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Sweet! I love that kind of music! I can never go by a day without that playing on my music."
"Well if you like that kind of music you should stop by my store and see the rest that I got."
"Wait, you've got more?" Lemon was practically beaming with joy.
"Yeah I do. How about this, tomorrow after school, swing by around the music store, and I'll show you some of my stuff."
"Sweet! You got a deal!" Lemon replied. Then the two of them paused to listen in on the firing shots of paintballs again, this time they heard yelling coming from their allies.
"Lemon! Come on, we're kicking the Shadowbolts butts! I still got Neon Lights here if you want to shoot him!" Indigo yelled.
Lemon and Vinyl both looked at each other with smiles, placed their helmets on and charged out back into the battlefield to join their allies in claiming victory.

This is my first romance fic, so it probably won't be good. Leave positive criticism if you can!
