//-------------------------------------------------------// Dimensions -by Calibra2- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// I - Mysterious Mare //-------------------------------------------------------// I - Mysterious Mare The storm had passed, and the citizens of Ponyville were aloud to go outside. The grass was mucky and wet, and the pavements were slippery, but everyone seemed to enjoy running around in the fresh air, and not be cooped up in their houses. Twilight stepped outside of her castle, almost slipping on the first step. After taking a few steps, her friends came to join her. When walking around the town, no pony seemed to question the unexpected weather. Ponies almost immediately saw her. A weird mare in a cloak. At first glance, the ponies of Ponyville thought nothing of it, thinking it was Zecora in her robe again from when they first saw her. But, after wondering around the town for a little bit, the ponies soon realised that is wasn't who they thought it was. The mare was pure white, and had no stripes on her, so it could not be Zecora. Upon further inspection, the mare was just wondering around, watching every pony else. A few grabbed their fillies and ran indoors, but the others didn't seem to be as alarmed as others. Instead, they found Princess Twilight and asked her about it. Many complained, many thought that Twilight would know who she was. But she didn't. The new mare wondered around the place for ages, observing others and the place around her. She seemed confused at the sight of ponies. No pony had the courage to talk to her, so the only information Twilight knew is that she was never seen before. Twilight and her friends were walking towards the new mare, whom had turned back and was heading towards the Everfree. Dash had pointed out that wherever this new pony goes she leaves a trail of drops of blood, so this just made them more concerned and curious. As the unfamiliar mare stepped into the entrance of the Everfree Forest, she noticed she was being followed by Twilight and her friends, so she turned towards the forest and ran. "Hey! Wait up!" Dash yelled after her. Zipping through the forest, the new mare managed to refrain from falling or hitting anything whilst she ran. It had seemed like she knew the place by heart, as behind her Rainbow Dash had already ran into a tree and Starlight and Spike fell over not long ago, trying to catch up. The mysterious mare vanished into a bush of thorns, as if she didn't care about the sharp things that come out of the bush. Everyone that was chasing her stopped in front of the bush, pondering how they were going to go around it. They soon figured out that the only way was to go through it. Twilight carefully lit up her horn and removed as much of the bush as she could. The ponies went through it one by one, following the mare that had came through. Once they were all through, they looked up to see a small shack, and behind it was a graveyard. They had never came across this before, and they haven't been in this part of the forest either, so they had to stay alert for any monsters that they were unfamiliar of. Trotting towards the torn-apart house, they came up to the door and gently knocked on it, scared that the whole house will come down. "Come in." Said a slightly robotic voice coming from inside the house. They slowly opened the broken door, and galloped inside. The shack was bigger on the inside, and there stood the mare that they were chasing. They stood inside the house, staring at the mare, until their attention was drawn by the sound of the door loudly shutting by itself. The main six and their two friends soon looked back at the mysterious mare, who took off her cloak and revealed herself. //-------------------------------------------------------// II - Midnight //-------------------------------------------------------// II - Midnight This mare was pure white, from her mane to her coat. Her hair was as long as her body, and she had a fringe that covered only one of her eyes. She opened her eye, which was also white. Looking at her flank, her cutiemark was an eye with a scythe behind it. When Twilight and her friends saw her, they gasped. They didn't know that behind a black cloak would be an innocent earth pony. "Greetings." She announced. Twilight looked around the shack. It was surprisingly neat and their was a bookshelf filled with books that she had never seen before behind the mare. The house seemed bigger on the inside than it did on the outside, and despite being one-floored on the outside, there were stairs leading upwards and downwards. After looking around, she turned her attention to her friends, who didn't know what to say to the new mare. She soon stepped up and talked to her. "U-Um..." Twilight stuttered. "Hello...? My name is Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship..." "I already know who you all are." The mare replied. Her voice was robotic and deep, and only slightly feminine. "Oh... You do?" Twilight was startled. "H-How..? I mean - What's your name?" "I know because I have seen you all before, and I know what you do." She responded. "You are the elements of harmony, and you have a dragon assistant and your unicorn pupil." "Uh... Oh... So, you've heard about us..?" Twilight muttered. The mare nodded. "Yes. I have heard the stories. You could say I 'know you better than you do'." Starlight Glimmer glanced at the mare's cutiemark. "A-And you are..?" She asked nervously. "My name?" The mare cleared her throat. "Midnight." "Right, so Midnight..." Dash retorted. "Yes, I know, I've creeped some ponies out." Midnight sighed. "And I'm sorry for that. I was merely doing research." "Research?" Twilight grinned. "Of what?" Midnight glanced at Starlight, and then looked back at Twilight, keeping the same dull expression. "Just research." Midnight looked back at her books, and all of a sudden a blue glow surrounded one of the books she had. It lifted itself off of the shelf and gently into Midnight's hoof's, where she opened the book and began to read. "H-How did you-" Rarity gasped. "Hm?" Midnight interrupted. "What's the matter?" "Y-You're an earth pony..." Fluttershy whispered. "How did you... Lift that book..?" "Telekinesis." Midnight explained. "I'm a new breed of earth ponies, one that can learn telekinesis. It is far more powerful than alicorn and unicorn magic combined. But do not fret, I do not use it to harm others." Spike turned his attention to a huge gash in Midnight's side, which was dripping with blood, and he could see her bone. He tugged on Twilight's wing, and once she looked at Spike, he pointed to her injury. Gasping, Twilight folded in her wings. "A-Are you okay!?" She yelled. "You've got a massive hole in your side!" "I know that." Midnight said, unalarmed. "I've had it since I was born." She continued flicking through her book, and then rolled her eyes over to the group of ponies that were waiting for an explanation. "I guess I should tell you some things, huh?" Putting her book on her shelf by hoof, she turned to the large group. She flicked her fringe so they could see her other eye, which was red and had a nasty scar on it. After, she covered it back up with her hair. Midnight walked back to the centre of the room, eye-balling each pony and looking into their minds. "I am a God." She said, with absolutely no verbal filter. "The God of dimensions, time and space. I have came here because there has been a glitch in the dimensions, and I have tracked the source to here. I plan on staying here for a very, very long time. I must destroy the glitch, before bad things start happening. Even if it means killing some ponies along the way." She jerked her head to Starlight, who was still in awe from the moment she saw her. Midnight didn't look impressed. "I have already fixed a time error in here already." She said, aiming it at Starlight. "But dealing with dimension glitches are far more dangerous. If I am not careful, or if someone gets in the way, this dimension as you know it could crumble." Starlight Glimmer felt a little bad. The fact that she now knows that someone had to fix her mess up made guilt wash over her body. She tried lifting her head to apologise, but she couldn't find the guts to speak up to a God. Looking around, she saw that almost everybody had their jaw dropped. "I don't understand." Applejack tilted her head. "You're a God? Why not just say that in the first place?" "I did not want to start a panic." Midnight replied. "Announcing myself as a God would probably make them all laugh anyway, so I didn't bother. I knew you ponies would understand, since you have dealt with other unbelievable situations, like the Crystal Empire, or the alicorn baby." "That is true." Rarity admitted. "But can we back up a bit? You said 'even if it means killing some ponies'... What do you..?" "It means I might have to kill someone, or I might of done it by accident." Midnight explained. "Why would ya need tah kill somepony?!" Applejack shouted. "Like I said, it might of been on accident." Midnight rolled her eyes. "Besides, would you rather have a few casualties or a whole dimensions erased from existence?" "Good point..." Spike rubbed his head. "But.... Can't you heal yourself if you're a God?" Midnight knew he was referring to her wound. She gently twisted her head to look at it, smiled softly, and then looked back up at the baby dragon. "I had this when I was born, Spike." She sighed. "I cannot get rid of it, nor the scar on my eye. It was just how I was meant to be." "Oh..." Spike slumped to the floor. "Sorry..." "I am sorry." Midnight spoke. "I wish I could tell you more, but I do not know what I am hunting, nor what had happened to make the glitch happen." She glanced at Rainbow Dash. "And no, you cannot help me." "How did you know I was gonna ask that?" Dash asked. "I can read your mind, idgit." She snorted. "Maybe come back tomorrow. I might have new information for you then. But for now, please keep as calm as you can, and report any weird happenings to me." "Well, there was the weird weather..." Rarity murmured. "That was my fault, sorry." Midnight explained. "I accidentally broke the weather system upon my arrival." "No problem, Mid!" Dash snickered. "Just be careful next time, kay?" "Don't call me that." Midnight muttered, squinting her eyes. "We'll come back tomorrow, then?" Twilight looked around at her friends, who were nodding. "Thank you for letting us know about this. We will be in touch!" All of the ponies trotted out with Spike following behind them. Looking up at the outside of the shack, it was smaller than it was on the inside. They looked at each other in great concern for their world, and then walked away, back into the Everfree. Midnight walked to the door and slammed it shut with her telekinesis, and then walked back to the bookshelf. She then opened a book about glitched creatures. //-------------------------------------------------------// III - God of Chaos //-------------------------------------------------------// III - God of Chaos Fluttershy held a little tea part between herself and Discord. Whilst he was sitting at the table, Fluttershy opened the oven for her cookies and a large cloud of steam flew into her face, almost choking her. She wiped the steam away from her face, and proceeded to take the baked goods out of the oven. She set the warm plate on the table, and poured some tea for Discord. She then sat opposite of him. During this, she had been telling him about what had happened in the Everfree. "What a fascinating story!" Discord smiled, drinking a bit of his tea and imitating a posh pony. "So she just told you she was a God and you went along with it?" "She was an earth pony, and she lifted up a book and closed the door!" Fluttershy squeaked. "Honestly, I was too scared to disagree..." "Hm... Maybe I should meet this... 'Midnight'?" Discord suggested. "I've never heard of her, and surely neither has Celestia or Luna, so maybe I should check her out?" "That might make her mad..." Fluttershy trembled. "Oh, come on Fluttershy!" Discord chuckled. "She's probably a fake anyway." He sipped the last of his tea and bit into a cookie. "I.... I guess that's... Possible..." The pegesus tipped a little bit of tea into her mouth. "But..." "Don't worry." He reassured her. "I'll come with you the next time you go!" "All right..." Fluttershy tapped her hoof on her chin. "But only if Twilight says you can." "Yay! Road trip!" Discord laughed. "This'll be fun!" A day passed, and Twilight had already messaged Celestia and Luna about this new mare claiming to be a God. She got a message almost immediately, regarding their thoughts about the situation. They haven't heard about Midnight either. Twilight heard from Fluttershy that Discord was coming, just to check her out. Reluctantly, she agreed, thinking that the God of Chaos could make some sense in the situation. Everypony met up at the Everfree entrance, and Discord turned out to be the first one there. His curiosity got the better of him, so he was eager to see this mare. Starlight and Spike were the late ones, trying their hardest to keep up with Twilight's schedule. After some inpatient minutes, they began entering the forest. "Oh goody!" Discord exclaimed. "Time to meet a fake!" "Uh, not to be rude, Discord, but we dunno if she's a fake or not." Applejack sighed. "Be careful when ya'll talk to her." "Or what? She'll throw me into another dimension?" Discord mocked. "Don't be rude, Discord." Fluttershy whispered, but with a stern look. Twilight looked through the map of the Everfree that she found in the library. "Um..." "What's the matter, dear?" Rarity asked. "I don't..." Twilight turned the map a couple of times to see it from a different angle. "Um..." "Are we lost?" Spike face-palmed. "Cause if we are..." "No, we're not, Spike." Twilight announced. "I know where we're going now. I think." After a while of following Twilight, Discord began to feel bored. He looked around the place for something to do, until he turned to Fluttershy. "How long are we going to walk in this place?" He put the back of his hand on his head, over-dramatically. "Well, when we first went to her house, we ran." Fluttershy explained. "But I imagine it isn't too far now." And she was right. They came across the thorn bushes that act as a defence to Midnight's shack. Twilight carefully focused her magic to make a bigger hole in the thorn bush than the last time. One at a time, ponies (and Draconequus/Dragon) walked through the bush and focused their attention to the small shack before them. "See? Not too far!" Fluttershy smiled gently at Discord. The door opened by itself as soon as Twilight stepped near it. They all entered on at a time, only to see Midnight sitting on a chair at a table, reading a book that had no title. Discord impatiently looked around. "This place is bigger on the inside!" "Of course it is." Midnight slammed her book closed. Discord jumped at the sound of her robotic voice. "Bigger-on-the-inside technology. Stole it from the Doctor Who dimension." "The, uh... What now?" Applejack raised her eyebrow. "Right, Doctor Who is only a reference here." Midnight looked up, and angrily eye-balled Discord. "Oh, so I see you're here." "Me?" Discord pointed at himself. "You're the only God of Chaos here, aren't you?" Midnight stood up from her chair, and furiously marched towards Discord. "You worthless, sorry excuse for a Draconequus! How dare you! Do you know how long it took to fix what you did?!" Discord looked confused. "What are you-?" "I can't believe you got so jealous that you decided to open a fucking portal to another dimension without thinking about the consequences!" Midnight's voice went a little bit demonic. "It took me a month to fix your stupid mistake you pathetic welp! I gave you one job as the Chaos God, and you waste your useful power! I should just rip the power and your job straight from your soul essence!" Midnight cleared her throat, and turned towards her bookshelf. She trotted to the shelf stacked with history. She lifted some books with her telekinesis and ordered them correctly back on the shelf. Glancing behind her, she saw the expressions on everypony's faces. She rolled her eyes and continued re-ordering her books. "You... Know about all that?" Applejack tilted her head. "She might actually be a God." Discord whispered to Twilight. "I don't know about you, but I'm going to be more careful when around her." Twilight nodded in agreement, then turned to the white mare. "D-Do you have an update on the dimension thingy?" "Mhm." Midnight hummed, and twisted her whole body to look at the ponies. "I have found out what is doing all of this, but I still do not know if you can be trusted. You have already told my secret to Discord, Celestia and Luna, and who knows who they would tell." "Sorry, sugarcube." Applejack lowered her head. "But we weren't sure that-" "-That I was a God?" Midnight interrupted. "I get it if you do not believe me. Most people- or, uh, ponies - think I am delirious. I do not like calling myself that anyway. I prefer being called my own name, and not my title." "Right, sorry." Rarity apologised. "But I promise you can trust us." "Fine then." Midnight sighed. "But I shall only tell you a little bit of information. I will tell you anything that might afflict your life." She cleared her throat. "This dimension is dying, but you will not notice until the 10th day. Unfortunately, it is the 5th day." Starlight and Spike gasped, as the others stood in silence. Midnight flicked her fringe, revealing her scar once more before the piece of hair falls back into place. She levitates some books and stacked them up on the table, then opened a back door. She jerked her head back towards the ponies stood before her, and stared at them with her blank, emotionless eyes. "Perhaps you should follow me." Midnight told them. "There is much more I should say to you." //-------------------------------------------------------// IV - The Graveyard Shift //-------------------------------------------------------// IV - The Graveyard Shift Walking through the back door, Twilight and her friends looked upon a huge graveyard that was behind Midnight's shack. Each gravestone had a name that they had never heard of before, not even Pinkie Pie knew them. Midnight led them to the back of the graveyard, where there was another small shack, but this time it was as big on the inside as it was on the outside. It was a tool shed, and the mare opened it. "W-Why is there a graveyard here!?" Rainbow Dash asked, slightly creeped out. Midnight turned to look at the rainbow pegesus. "I work here." She took a shovel out of the shed. "I decide who lives and dies in this world." "Like that isn't ominous." Applejack tipped her hat, and eye-balled the shovel that Midnight was carrying. "I'm not going to kill you, idgit." Midnight snapped. "I need to dig up something." "What do you need to dig up?" Twilight tilted her head. "A book." "You buried a book!?" Twilight's vein popped out of her head as she tried to calm herself. "Why!?" "Well, keeping the book on my bookshelf isn't a smart idea." Midnight rolled her eyes. "Especially if it could kill you all in one go. It's a spell book, but it works with black magic." "So you're a witch?" Dash suggested. "Awesome-" "No, it is not 'awesome'." Mid interrupted. "And I am not a witch. This book is extremely dangerous." Midnight headed towards one of the gravestones marked as 'Fry McCry'. It was obvious it was a fake name, and Discord had only noticed that it wasn't a pony when Midnight started digging up the grave. She took out huge chunks of dirt at once, digging up half of the grave in under thirty seconds. Once she was done, she levitated a box that she put under there and covered up the hole that she made. The box was a brown one, with three locks in it. Once the hole was covered, Midnight trotted back towards her shack. "Not to be rude, but why do you have a book about..." Rarity paused a little. "Black magic?" "I didn't create it. I just find it fascinating." Midnight informs Rarity. "Plus, I had to hide it from getting in the wrong hooves. This could literally destroy Equestria with enough practice." They arrived back at Midnight's old shack, and the white mare sat at the table and flicked open the book, starting to memorise the pages. She scanned the book carefully and kept a close eye on everypony else to make sure they were not looking in the book. As Midnight was reading, Rarity impatiently looked around, and began realising how old and 'boring' Midnight's place was. "Not to be a critic or anything, dear..." Rarity nervously chuckled as Midnight glanced over at the unicorn. "But this place could use a little bit of a touch-up, couldn't it? I mean, if you wanted, we could-" "No." Midnight slammed her hoof on the table. She shook her head and bolted her eyes towards the book. "I mean... No, I like it how it is. My house does not need any improvement." "I see." Rarity stood back a little bit. "S-Sorry." Once Midnight was finished reading, she closed the book and darted her head towards the group of ponies behind her. She stood up and walked towards them. "This dimension is falling apart." Midnight announced, not caring for what they think. "I am trying my hardest to fix it, do not worry." Just to make their worrying better, the back door swung open without Midnight even wanting it to be open. Everyone jerked their heads towards the slamming of the door opening on the wall, and waited to see who decided to enter the shack. They saw a dead pony dragging its own dead weight, making its way towards Midnight. It groaned in pain as it tried to talk to her. Spike saw the pony, and fainted on Starlight's back. Rarity did the same, but on to Pinkie and Applejack, who kept her from falling on the floor. The others stared at the crawling corpse with their jaws on the floor. "Mid.........Night........." The dead horse groaned. "Oh, greetings, Z." Midnight slowly stepped towards the crawling pony, not surprised at all. "What's the matter?" "Took......... Legs........." Z gurgled spit in his mouth. "Who did?" Midnight crouched down, meeting Z's eye level. "Sa............Rah..........." "Sarah?" Midnight mimicked. "I thought I told her to stop doing that." She closed her book tight, then turned to the ponies. "Excuse me, I have to sort out an issue. Wait here if you'd like. I will only be a moment." The white mare trotted out of the shack, with the rotting corpse dragging itself behind her. Once the door had shut, Discord quickly turned to Fluttershy. "What." Discord yelled. That was all he could say at the moment. "She does own a graveyard..." Applejack admitted. "I don't know what we were expectin'." "I was expecting a fake!" Discord snapped. "But she is an actual God! I don't know how that is possible! I thought I was the only one!" "She said she was the God of dimensions..." Starlight suggested. "Maybe she's from another dimension?" "Possible." Twilight tapped her chin. "That means that there are dimensions out there... And, as Mid said, ours is falling apart." "Should we help...?" Fluttershy asked. "If she needs it, dear." Rarity nodded. "But I think she can handle this on her own." "I still wanna help." Rainbow Dash crossed her arms. "I mean, she can't do it on her own. That's hard." "Probably not fer her, sugarcube." Applejack tilted her hat. "She seems like a strong pony." "Not as strong as me." Discord mumbled. Fluttershy put her hoof on his shoulder, smiling softly. "What should we do, then?" Spike frowned. "We can't just sit around doing nothing!" "Maybe I can talk with Celestia to get any books about dimensions, or any spells." Twilight told them. "The best thing we can do is prevent anyone else from finding them, so it makes Midnight's work a lot more easier." "Yeah! So nopony can go through dimensions and mess something up, and make Midnight have to go over there and fix it and might make our dimension burn in Tartarus!" Pinkie blurted out, not even taking a breath. Every-pony nodded at the plan, and then started to think about what Pinkie Pie had said. Yeah, she's a bit on the 'loopy' side, but she had a point. If anyone where to mess with dimensions, Midnight would have to fix it. And, if she did that, she could put their dimension in great danger. If she didn't, then the other dimension would collapse. Either way, one of the dimensions would die. Everyone's face went dull, thinking about what would happen to them if they were erased from existence. //-------------------------------------------------------// V - Flinching //-------------------------------------------------------// V - Flinching The sound of hooves galloping echoed through the dark cavern, as well as drips of water coming from the ceiling. A pony trotted through the cave, aware of any wall or obstacle that comes in front of her without needing to see it. She was an earth pony, but not like the others. Her cutiemark was replaced with an 'error' sign, and the only vibrant colour on her was her mane, tail, and the tears that were affixed to her face. She edged closer to the end of the damp cave, yet she knew what to do when she reached her destination. She grinned, showing yellow, disgusting teeth that had been destroyed by sweets that were stuck in between them. As she came up to the wall, her eyes glowed a deadly red colour. She stomped with one of her hooves, creating a small sound wave that pushed away some dust. After a small pause, the earth started quaking. Rocks shuddered and the drips of water poured down faster. The wall before this earth pony began to crack and rumble. All the pony did was smile as she watched her plan go into action. As the cracks became larger and larger, a white light brightened up the cavern. After the light had faded, there before the pony was a portal. Grinning, the earth pony stepped one hoof at a time into the new world that she had opened up. She looked as if she had been their before. On the other side, everything was white. No living thing in sight. What use could this new world be? Midnight walked back into her shack, closing the door behind her. She turned to her guests, and then sat back down at her chair, and began reading once more. "I'm sorry for the wait." Midnight pursued. "Just a little bit more reading, and I will be able to tell you some more." "Yeah, we've been thinking..." Dash hovered in the air. "We wanna help." "No." Midnight felt like slamming her hoof on the table again. "I don't need-" "Our help? Yeah, we get that." Rainbow landed, folding in her wings. "But we're helping whether you like it or not." Midnight stared at the group of ponies. "And your friends agreed with this?" "We want to help." Starlight Glimmer argued. "It's our world too, not just yours." "And I know how we're going to help!" Twilight smiled softly at Midnight, giving her a reassuring look. "Please, just give us a chance?" Midnight looked side to side at the ponies, the dragon and the draconequus in disappointed. She knew that they would end up helping her in the first place, but it them helping could put everyone in danger. Midnight didn't tell them even one of the possible horrible things that would happen to them if they were killed by the dimension glitch. Or what the result of protecting a dimension leads to. "I'm guessing I have no choice here..." Midnight sighed, glancing over at her book. "Fine. I guess." "Thank you for giving us a chance." Twilight smiled with glee. "You will not regret-" "Spare me your long monologue." Midnight rolled her eyes. "Just know that it won't be me that will regret this decision. It would most likely be you." Midnight turned back to her book. "Hey! I have a couple of questions about dimensions." Discord put up his hand politely. "What would someone like you want to know about dimensions?" Midnight was obviously still angry at Discord. "Well..." He started sweating nervously. "What are they like?" "Most dimensions are nice. Most are bad. It's 50-50, I guess." "Oh..." Discord frowned. "Can you be a little specific?" "Some are good, some are bad." Midnight repeated. "I created them to be so." "Why did you create bad ones, then?" "To keep it balanced." Midnight turned away from her book. "It would be a bit bland if all dimensions were good." "Good point..." Discord tapped his chin. "But what else can you tell us about dimensions?" "Some dimensions are simply games or T.V shows for other dimensions. For example, we could be a T.V show for one dimension, or a game for another. Heck, this whole thing could be a fan-fiction on a website for people that like said T.V show." Midnight said, ignoring the author's silent attempt to stop her from breaking the fourth wall. "Though-" Before Midnight could finish, she flinched, and toppled on to the floor. Spike and Applejack ran over to help her up, but as she got up half-way, she flinched again, and fell once more. She rubbed her head, and started to get a migraine, as the ringing in her ears became louder and louder. Finally, her eyes twitched, and she stood up straight as her eyes started flashing different colours every millisecond. Everyone covered their eyes, as the flashing lights almost gave them seizures. Finally, Midnight blinked, and stumbled back on to the ground, shaking her head as the ringing leaves her eardrums. "Are ya okay, sugarcube?" Applejack helped her up once more. "Y-Yeah..." Midnight squeaked, regaining her balance. "Wha... What happened..?" Fluttershy whispered, quivering in the corner. "Nothing good, I don't think." Twilight yelped, turning to Fluttershy, and then back to Midnight. "That one.... Was a doozie...." Midnight panted. "Something's happened...." "What do you mean, darling?" Rarity asked, still covering her eyes. "This dimension... It's corrupting even faster than I had expected..." Midnight gasped for breath. "It... This... It's going to be harder than I thought...." Everyone looked around at each other, and then back at the whimpering white mare. She wasn't scared, and she had managed to regain her breath quickly, but she looked more angrier than scared. Now, everything has gotten more serious. And Midnight cannot wait around much longer to fix this. //-------------------------------------------------------// VI - Error //-------------------------------------------------------// VI - Error Twilight and her friends were sent home by Midnight after her little incident. They were all given small gemstones attached to a string, each with the colour of their element, as Discord, Starlight and Spike had a greyer coloured one. They asked her why she was sending them away, and why they needed the gems that she gave them. Midnight only said one thing, and then shut the door on them. "Error." Why did she say 'error'? Is that a pony? Or is it because of what happened to her? Questions were running through Twilight's mind as she led her friends out of the Everfree and back into Ponyville. Once she had first sight over her sunny town, she remembered that she and her friends had only 5 days until signs of the dimension falling apart will show. Deciding to take action, she quickly turned to her friends, making them know that she was about to say something. "We need to help." Twilight said with enthusiasm. "We have to." "And how do you expect us to help?" Spike asked. "All she said to us was 'error', and I'm not even sure what that means!" "Exactly!" Twilight pointed out. "Maybe that's what she wants us to do! Find out what this 'error' thing is!" "How do you even know it's a thing, deary?" Rarity uttered. "I mean, Midnight is very robotic-y. Maybe she was saying that because she was... Er... Malfunctioning?" "I doubt it." Twilight continued. "I bet it's a thing she asked us to find out about!" "Well..." Starlight coughed. "The least thing we can do is try... Wouldn't hurt, would it?" "Not at all." Twilight grinned. "Come on, my library must have something! If not, I can send a message to Princess Celestia to ask if she can look in the Canterlot library!" Everyone nodded in agreement, then ran towards Twilight's castle. When they got into the large palace, they frantically looked for any books regarding the word 'error' in her library. Spike sent a message to Celestia for Twilight to urge her to do the same thing, in which she replied saying that she and Luna would do the best they can. After a few hours of finding nothing on the word, Discord threw a book down and slumped to the ground. "This is pointless!" He grunted. "There's nothing here!" "No!" Twilight yelled. "There has to be something! Anything!" "Twilight, ah think we've looked enough." Applejack carefully set a book down. "Hm... What about a book about glitch monsters!" Pinkie Pie blurted out. "Glitch is like an error, and error is like a glitch, so they're basically the same exact thing but with a different name!" "Pinkie, you're a genius!" Twilight levitated the book Pinkie had out of her hooves. "This could actually be useful!" Opening the book, pages filled with weird black creatures and their information were revealed. It looked like a journal, as the pages were clearly written on and the pictures were stuck on using masking tape and blue tack. Twilight flipped to the back and front of the book, hoping to get the name of the author. All that was written is 'this book belongs to M.D.L.G'. No one knew who this was, so they presumed that the 'M' stood for 'Midnight'. "This is probably hers, then..." Fluttershy pointed out. "I get that." Twilight tapped her chin. "But what are these black creatures? The language written is unrecognisable." "To you, maybe." Dash smirked. "But if it is Midnight's, we should probably give it to her. She might tell us what it means." "What if she doesn't?" Starlight suggested. "I think we should ask Celestia." Twilight closed the book. "Maybe she or Luna would be able to read it." "If I can't read it, I doubt they would." Discord crossed his arms. Twilight turned to Spike. "Send this book to Celestia, and send a message asking her if she could translate it." Spike nodded, and stared writing a letter to send with the book. Twilight looked at the others in concern. "If one of the monsters in this book is loose in Equestria, then we have to find it." "But how?" Fluttershy whispered. "We don't even know how to stop it..." "I still don't see why we can't ask Midnight." Rainbow Dash groaned. "It would be easier!" "And she might not tell us what it means, Dash." Starlight sighed. "Please, this is the best option right now." Dash grunted. Twilight paced around the library thinking about what to do with the monsters. Spike wrote his letter, and then sent the book to Celestia and Luna. Hopefully they would know what to do, and they would know what the words mean. So far, this was their only hope. //-------------------------------------------------------// VII - Three Princesses //-------------------------------------------------------// VII - Three Princesses A royal chariot carried by pegesi landed on the ground in Ponyville. Out stepped three alicorns that were riding on it; Celestia, Luna and Cadence. Twilight was baffled by the unexpected visit that her jaw dropped and no words spoke out of her mouth when she went to talk to them. Celestia chuckled at her pupil. "I know we came without telling you..." Celestia levitated the book that Twilight had sent her. "But we must discuss this." "Why? It's in some sort of forgotten language." Twilight pointed out. "Discord couldn't read it, and we only sent it to you in hope that you could." "That's just the thing." Luna looked side to side, before leaning in a little and lowering her voice. "We can't." "Seriously?" Rainbow Dash smacked her own face. "I thought you could translate anything!" "Not this." Cadence sighed. "The language is too diverse, and nothing that Equestria has ever seen." "We wish to talk to it's maker." Celestia told them. "You told us that this Midnight character wrote this?" "We think, yes." Rarity nodded. "It had her 'M' initial on it." "I see." Luna tapped her chin. "Then we must see her at once." "I don't know..." Dash squinted. "She lives in the Everfree. That's kinda dangerous for a princess." "We'll have my guards to protect us if anything happens." Celestia smirked. "Do not worry about our safety." Knocking on the door, Twilight patiently waited outside the shack that belonged to Midnight. When she didn't get an answer, she knocked again, almost immediately answered by a slow creak of the door unlocking. Opening it, Midnight peaked through a crack and saw the three princesses. She sighed, and opened the door wider for everyone to come in. Almost immediately, Cadence, Luna and Celestia realised that the house was bigger on the inside. Despite it being a messy shack on the outside, it was surprisingly neat on the inside. Midnight didn't look happy to see the three princesses, so the two guards kept a close eye on her in case she made a move on them. "Hm." Midnight grunted. "I hope you know that I hate guards." Before anyone could react, Midnight's body started generating energy, her veins pulsing with blue electricity and her eyes slammed shut. The guards raced towards her, thinking she was going to attack the princesses, but before they reached her she opened her eyes and let out an enormous field of telekinetic energy that made everything go white. Once vision was restored to everypony, they realised that the guards were gone. The three princesses, however, were remained unharmed. They looked at Midnight, who sat there with a blank stare, as if she was 100% done with this bullshit. "I told you." Her emotion didn't shift. "I hate guards." Celestia tried to speak, but was left speechless. She had felt the energy on her body but was not conflicted by it in any way. She felt how strong Midnight really was, enough to push back two guards and no one else. "Where are they!?" Princess Luna shouted. "Back in Ponyville." Midnight informed her. "Do I need to repeat myself? I. Hate. Guards." Dash tilted her head. "We get that." "Then why do I have to repeat myself?" Midnight's eyes darted at Dash, leaving the pegesus trembling at her intimidating stare. Celestia cleared her throat. "So, you are Midnight?" Midnight jerked her head in a robotic-like fashion. "Do you see anyone else called Midnight around?" "N-No." Celestia frowned. "But please, do not talk to me like that." "Why?" Midnight's voice went a tiny bit demonic. "Because you're a princess and your mane runs on batteries?" Celestia got a bit annoyed. She inhaled and exhaled. "We need to speak to you." "I know you do." Midnight turned towards her bookshelf. "About my book, right?" "Um... Yes." Cadence stepped forward. "We want you to translate it." "You want me to?" Midnight repeated. "Excuse me, but who do you think you are?" "We are the rulers of-" Celestia informed her. "Rulers of bullshit." Midnight interrupted. "And who do you think made this place? Show me a bit of respect next time you ask." Midnight levitated the book out of Twilight's saddle bag that she put on before heading into the forest. Celestia was surprised that she could actually use telekinesis. "I will translate it. But only one page." Midnight looked up and smirked at them. "That's hardly fair." Discord pointed out. "Maybe." Midnight's eyes darted back towards the book. "But this does belong to me, doesn't it?" "All right, then..." Luna sighed. "But may I ask who's initials are carved into the book?" "Mine. And my friend's." "Oh... Could you tell us what they stand for?" Luna asked. "Midnight Dewdrop." She told her. "That is my full name. The other name I am not aloud to say." "I see." Celestia looked at her mane, questioning if it actually runs on batteries. Midnight gave the book to Twilight. "Give me a page to translate." "Which one is something mostly to do with Equestria?" Twilight grinned, feeling proud of herself for asking a smart question. The white mare flicked through the pages, finding one page that had no pictures in it. The blue aura settled the book against Twilight's hoof and then vanished. "This page." "Translate this one, please." Twilight desperately asked her. "As you wish." Midnight began running memories through her brain about every translation she has ever made, skipping from dimension to dimension to find out what she had written this in. She finally came to a conclusion. "Error Pinkie Pie." Midnight told them. "Hey! That's my name!" Pinkie said in joy. "Do I have a sister I didn't know about?" "No. It's a creature that I could not find." Midnight informed her. "Errors are creatures that are born every time I make a new pony or creature. They are monsters in the anti-void, and their main purpose is to destroy timelines. This is actually the thing I am looking for. Sometimes I manage to kill these creatures, but some got lucky and got away. Error Pinkie Pie managed to find a way to crack into dimensions. That's why my eyes went funky earlier." "That doesn't sound good." Luna stepped back. "It isn't good." Midnight sighed. "I have to kill her." "Can't she be reasoned with?" Fluttershy suggested quietly. "No." Midnight gritted her teeth. "They do not care for mercy, nor kindness. They hate friendship altogether. Error Pinkie will do anything to destroy this dimension." Everything was white, except the black and pink mare standing in the middle of it all. Her mane was poofy, and she had tears stuck on her face. She had errors as her cutiemark and replacing one of her eyes. Her coat was black and a tiny bit of blue. Her eyes were a deep red. This was Error Pinkie. Standing in the anti-void, she chuckled as she looked upwards at her trophy collection. She had kidnapped Bon Bon and Colgate. She thought that they had a nice personality, so she decided to keep them. They were tied to puppet strings that tied them in mid-air. The anti-void had no ceiling nor walls, so it was unclear what the strings were attached to. Grinning, she showed off her yellow teeth that had rotten bits of candy stuck in it. "This is going to be so much fun!" //-------------------------------------------------------// VIII - The Visit //-------------------------------------------------------// VIII - The Visit "Where did you get this, anyway?" Midnight coughed. The mare turned towards the group of creatures. She stepped into the middle of the room, then flicked her fringe, once again revealing her injured eye. Once the piece of hair flopped back into place, she stared at them with a dead expression. She expected an answer right away, but instead she was greeted by silence. "Well?" "Um..." Twilight wiped some sweat off of her head. Midnight's face intimidated her greatly. "My bookshelf?" "Why would something like this be on your bookshelf, Miss Sparkle?" Midnight turned her head slightly, half facing her back door and half facing the group of friends. She awaited her answer. "I don't know." Twilight sighed. "We just found it there." Midnight jerked her body to face the back door. She thought for a bit, and then frowned. She then turned towards the group which stand nearer and nearer to the corner every time she looks. "Take me to your library." "Woah, woah!" Dash interrupted. "She said nothing about a library!" "Rainbow Dash, I recall telling you that I know a lot about you all." Midnight tilts her head, still keeping her lifeless emotion. "I know that Twilight has a castle with a big library. Correct me if I'm wrong." Dash stayed silent, since she knew that Midnight was right. The mare smirked, and then levitated a saddle bag and cloak. She put on the black cloth and then layered the bag on top of it. She kept the hood of the cloak down, and then turned towards her quivering guests. "Take me to it." Entering Ponyville, the four princesses were at the front of the group with everyone else following behind. Midnight was in the middle of the princesses, as they didn't want her to slip away and cause trouble. Midnight knew they still didn't trust her, but she didn't care at all. She was more worried about the threat upon the dimension they lived in. Everyone could see the castle in the distance. As it came closer, Twilight sped up her walking and opened the large door to let everyone in. Midnight didn't bother thanking her. As they entered the castle, Midnight immediately headed towards the library, knowing every twist and turn of the castle. The ponies watched in awe as she easily found her way around the castle on the first try. Starlight was disappointed, as she lived in the palace and still didn't know her way around. Midnight entered the library, and quickly rummaged through the bookshelves. During this, she took off her cloak and saddle bag with ease. Twilight came in and coughed, trying to grab Midnight's attention. The mare ignored her, and every time someone else tried to get her attention. She waited until someone asked for her attention politely. "Midnight, do not ignore us." Luna warned. Midnight cringed. She didn't want to listen to them, but she did anyway. She put the book she was carrying back on the bookshelf perfectly and turned towards the group of creatures. "What were you looking for?" Luna asked. "You didn't ask politely." Midnight crossed her arms and smirked mischievously. She watched in delight as Luna grew angry and impatient at the white mare. "I was looking for anything else that you shouldn't have here." "What shouldn't we have here?" Celestia put her hoof over Luna's mouth as she spoke. Midnight turned back at the bookshelf. "Anything that's mine, books about dimensions, porn..." Midnight turned towards them with the same dead expression. "Stuff like that." "I see." Celestia ignored the last statement. She could tell that Midnight didn't take them seriously. "Listen. If anything is happening to our world, we have the right to know." Midnight paused. She then grinned. "I'm sure you do." "Ya'll said we can help." Applejack pointed out. Midnight frowned at her. "I guess I did say that." Midnight snorted. "Fine, then, I'll tell you some more things." "Thank you." Celestia nodded. "Error Pinkie wants to kill this dimension." Midnight told them. "And if that happens?" "You will cease to exist." Midnight had absolutely no verbal filter. "But you should be careful; Errors like to take souvenirs. You should make sure no one has gone missing... Or you will be close to your... What do some ponies call it? Judgement day?" Midnight went back to searching the bookshelves, but the ponies behind her dropped their jaws. They take souvenirs. Judgement day. Ceasing to exist. This all sounds a bit too extreme. Maybe too much for them to handle. Still, they were all determined to help her. Even the three princesses that had only just entered the scene are willing to help. "Bon Bon! Bon Bon!" A mint green mare yelled out. "Has anyone seen Bon Bon?" Running through the streets of Ponyville, Lyra called out for her earth pony friend. Many other ponies have joined her, such as Sparkler and Doctor Whooves. They wondered the streets like worried parents, they ran into the familiar town drunk, Berry Punch. "Who're you lookin' for?" The alcohol-addicted pony stuttered. "Bon Bon." Lyra squeaked. "She's been missing for ages! She told me she would meet me for a daisy sandwich, but she didn't show up! She is never late for a lunch!" "I, too, have looked everywhere." The Doctor continued. "She isn't in her house, nor at her regular hangouts." "And I've checked anywhere she wouldn't be." Sparkler joined in. "She is, literally, no where to be found." Berry Punch twisted a bit of her hair with her hoof. She hiccuped, and then concentrated on the topic. "I'm looking for Colgate." She smirked. "She... She's hidin' somewhere. She knows I hate hide-n-seek." "Are you sure she isn't missing too?" Doctor Whooves sighed. "This all started when that mare came into Ponyville!" Lyra snapped, with some tears in her eyes. "That could be a reason." The Doctor tapped his chin. "I saw her go into Twilight's castle not long ago." "They've taken her under arrest!" Sparkler squealed. "Hopefully they find Bon Bon and Colgate." "I didn't see them with her." The Doctor informed them. "What if they're gonna kidnap the princess?" Berry Punch hiccuped. The four ponies gasped, and started bolting towards the castle. It was guarded by two pegesi, who saw these ponies charging towards the door. They pulled their spears in front of them, stopping them in place. "Halt! Royal meeting is in commence." One of the guards yelled in a gruff voice. "B-But you don't understand!" Lyra told them. "Bon Bon and Colgate's gone missing! The pony who took them might be in there!" The guards paused for a moment. They looked at each other and then back at the ponies. One of them went inside the castle, and the other stayed put, still pointing the spear and the four pony's necks. The guard stared them down, and waited for the other guard to finish what he was doing. He gestured to the four friends to sit down and wait, in which they did. Lyra's ears pointed straight down, wondering if she was too late. //-------------------------------------------------------// IX - Told You //-------------------------------------------------------// IX - Told You The white mare was still rustling through Twilight's books. As everyone was talking to each other, waiting for her, Midnight turned her head towards Spike, who was standing right next to the door. She concentrated on the baby dragon, and her telekinesis aura surrounded him. She lifted him up, and quickly moved him out of the way just as the door slammed open with a guard rushing through it. When she put him down, he mouthed his gratitude to her. Midnight turned back towards the bookshelf and concentrated more telekinetic energy on the books, lifting a variety of them up in the air, checking every book like a timelord from Doctor Who. Whilst doing this she eavesdropped on the conversation the guard was having with the princesses. "We have four ponies outside claiming that a kidnapper is in the building." The guard told them. "A kidnapper?" Twilight slowly turned her head to Midnight, who was glaring at the guard. "N-No, it's just us lot." "They're sure that there is a kidnapper in here." The guard explained. "They saw the pony come in with you." Midnight turned her whole body towards them, smirking. Celestia met her gaze and then reassured the guard. "Don't worry, she's not a kidnapper." "They said that their friends went missing as soon as that pony came into town." He informed them. "How many?" Cadence asked. "Two, ma'am." The guard replied. "Two have gone missing." "Then we shall act immediately." Luna turned to Midnight. "What shall we do about this?" "Well, I told you." Midnight shared a small grin. "Pinkie likes to take souvenirs." The pegesi guard looked at the pink pony standing behind the three princesses. He frowned, and looked as if he was ready to attack the earth pony, before Celestia put her hoof in front of him and shook her head. "She does not mean that Pinkie." Celestia told him, hoping he would understand. She shot her head towards Midnight with a stern expression, in which she replied with a roll of her eyes. "Bon Bon and Colgate, correct?" Midnight asked the guard. "Y-Yes." "Error Pinkie likes unicorns and earth ponies. Like I said;" Midnight exchanged glances with the princesses. "Told you." Midnight was being very smug with everyone. When she turned back towards the bookshelf, Celestia leaned forward and whispered something in the guard's ear, who replied with a nod and trotted out. He seemed more calm about the situation now. Discord switched his attention back on to Midnight, who had pulled out a book and flicking through the pages vastly. "So?" He asked her. "What are we going to do? Sit around eating books?" "You're a vile creature." Midnight sighed, carefully putting a book back in its place. "Eating books? Seriously, what is wrong with you? Books provide information, resources, facts.... They are not a piece of gum you can chew up and spit out." "You don't have to tell me twice." Twilight snickered, but hiding her smile. She wanted to remain serious, but still wanted to share her passion for books. "But what do we do?" "You lot? You guys need to wait." Midnight glared over her shoulder, sharing an intimidating stare with Luna. "Wait for my signal; then go to the middle of Ponyville." She turned her body around, but kept her eyes on Luna. "That is where it will take place." "Where what will take place?" Luna insisted she'd answer. "I cannot say now." Midnight looked over to the books. "There is not a lot of time for me to explain; I must prepare myself. Meanwhile, you all need to preserve your energy. Do not use your magic, stretch your wings and prepare for a battle." "A battle? In the middle of Ponyville?" Fluttershy repeated. "Why would the battle take place here?" Dash asked. "Shouldn't a battle take place somewhere where there are not four princesses around?" "Just trust me." Midnight looked over to Starlight and Spike. "Error Pinkie will attack there. I'm sure this time." "This time?" Starlight gasped. "I have miscalculated things like this before." Midnight told them. "But, this time, I'm sure." "Why should we believe you?" Celestia puffed up her chest. "Would you rather have your land plummeting into the abyss with no trace of your life ever existing, sun butt?" Midnight kept her dead expression, but for some reason it looked more scarier. "N-No..." "Then trust me." Midnight reassured her. "I know what I am doing. I will get your pony friends back, and I will kill Error Pinkie." "It's weird when you talk about her." Pinkie Pie giggled. "It sounds like you want to kill me, but who in Equestria could survive if I was dead? No one! Ha ha ha!" Midnight chuckled. "You should probably sort out those four ponies outside then." Midnight put her cloak and saddle bag back on. "I didn't see any more of my books. Thank you for letting me look, though." "Thank you for reassuring us and warning us about this." Cadence weakly smiled. "No problem. Now, I must go home and prepare. Errors are quite hard to kill if they have had time to gain more power." And, with that, Midnight's body glowed with blue telekinetic energy, and, with a flash, she disappeared from the spot she was standing in. Turns out that telekinetic ponies can teleport. You know, why not? They all looked at each other, and told each other through facial expressions that they should check on the worried ponies. They left the room to find out what they were fussing about. "Finally, I'm growing in strength. She doesn't stand a chance. I'll get her for what she did to my brothers and sisters." The anti-void cried in agony as the glitched creature started glowing a faint white colour. Her body and mane grew a tainted grey colour, and then, there was no sound heard. A large explosion erupted from the middle of Error Pinkie, turning the void to a pitch black room. All that glowed was Pinkie's red eyes and blue tears. She giggled. "I'm coming for you, Midnight." //-------------------------------------------------------// X - Prepare Yourself //-------------------------------------------------------// X - Prepare Yourself "She does not pose any threat." Princess Celestia told the four ponies awaiting outside. "Why you would think she kidnapped someone, I do not know." Lyra was breathing heavily, a vein had popped out of her head. She knew that Midnight had something to do with it. As for the other three, they were calm. They sat down and steadily held their ground, waiting for the order to leave her presence. Doctor Whooves glanced up at Lyra, who refused to sit with them, and told her to calm down. "As soon as she came into the village, both Bon Bon and Colgate went missing!" Lyra protested. "You have to listen to me!" "We are listening to you, Lyra." Twilight said, calmly. "But you have to understand; she's... Er... Helping us with the missing pony cases." Lyra held her breath. "Um... B-But I'm sure-!" "I think you should go home and get some rest." Cadence suggested. "Maybe the worrying has gotten to your head." "I... I guess you're right..." Lyra looked to the ground, and then saw her friends get up. "We'll go home now." "Sorry for, uh, bothering you." Berry Punch hiccuped. "See you around!" With that, the four worried ponies trotted off. They seem convinced that Midnight had at least something to do with it. Discord stepped out, as he was told to stay inside, and put his hand on Twilight's head and leaned on her. "So, what's the drama?" He asked cheerfully. Twilight moved away from Discord. "Nothing. We should just focus on what comes next." She turned towards Celestia. "Midnight told us to preserve our powers. I suggest that we don't do anything with our magic; no levitating, no teleporting." "And what about us?" Rainbow Dash asked, pointing at herself and Fluttershy. "Midnight told you to... Er... Stretch your wings?" Twilight informed them. "So, yeah, do wing exercises or something. I'll do the same?" "All right, nothing I don't do everyday!" Dash said proudly. "This is gonna be easy!" "Do not underestimate what we may face." Celestia told Dash. "Midnight used the term... 'Judgement Day', correct?" "Yeah, so?" "Judgement Day; the end of the world..." Twilight defined. "For all we know, this could be Armageddon." Applejack trotted a few inches away from them. "Ah'm gonna check on tha apple family. Ta check if they're all right." "Good idea, darling." Rarity put her hoof to her chest. "We should all check on our families and friends. To make sure they haven't been taken! Oh, I hope Sweetie Belle is okay..." "Yeah, I should check up on Scootaloo." Dash sighed, then puffed her chest up again. Nodding their heads, everyone split up to check on their loved ones. Twilight already knew that Spike was all right, but she wanted to know if her mother and father is, so she sent a letter to them. She found out that writing with her hooves is extremely hard, so she just asked Spike to do it. Cadence checked up on Flurry Heart and Shining Armour, who she found out were secured in the Crystal Empire. Rainbow Dash found Scootaloo, who was safely with the crusaders, so she went to find Applejack and Rarity, who already found their fillies and were having a snack in the Carousel Boutique. Fluttershy was hidden in her cottage, checking on all of her furry friends. Celestia and Luna wrote a letter to the Canterlot guards to tell them if anyone went missing. Pinkie Pie checked on the Cakes, who were baking goodies in the kitchen whilst the twins were upstairs sleeping. She then bounced around Ponyville, counting all of the ponies and made sure no-one was missing. She already knew that her family was all right, because if they weren't then she would get a Pinkie sense, which she didn't. As for Starlight, she wrote a letter to Sunburst to make sure that he was also okay. He was, thankfully, and then she wrote a letter to Trixie. She was delighted to know that her two best friends were okay. After that, she went back to Twilight's castle, were she met everyone standing there waiting for her. They had already checked on their loved ones. Midnight paced around her broken shack, lifting up multiple books on the most powerful method to delete the glitch from existence. From black magic to rituals, she couldn't find anything strong enough to at least be able to paralyse Error Pinkie. She thought about if her own power was enough to stop her. Maybe she can get rid of some of Pinkie's coding? It should cause her to glitch out, but she decided to use that as a secret weapon if all else fails. All of a sudden, Midnight's head jerked, and she fell backwards, hitting her head on the table and making a huge gash at the back of her head. Her eyes flickered in multiple colours, making anyone have a seizure if they saw it. Her cutiemark started glowing a faint grey colour, and her neck and hooves twisted like an owl's head. After a while, her eyes went back to normal, and her cutiemark stopped glowing. She stood up, and twisted her head and hooves around in the correct position. Since she was half robot, she could survive a neck break and walk on broken hooves. She held the back of her head to stop the bleeding, as she was standing in a puddle of her own red liquid. Looking around, she knew what had gone wrong. "You little bitch." She mumbled to herself. "You broke the anti-void, didn't you?" //-------------------------------------------------------// XI - Anti-Void //-------------------------------------------------------// XI - Anti-Void The next day, and everyone was woken up by a loud rumble. The ground was shaking, and ended with an extremely loud bang. It woke up half of Equestria and caused cracks in the earth five times larger than Canterlot. Twilight struggled her way out of bed when she heard the pop in her ears. Running from her home, she raced towards the Ponyville town hall, meeting her friends there. They didn't wait for the other princesses, nor Discord or Starlight or Spike. When Twilight arrived to see the other five, they were screaming and panicking on what would happen next. The purple alicorn quickly tried to silence the girls, to stop panic from spreading. When they wouldn't shut up, she fired up her horn and used a spell on there vocal cords to quieten them. Once this happened, they stopped moving around and turned towards Twilight. "Finally." She sighed. She cleared her throat. "I get that something has happened, but we need to go at this calmly. Do you understand?" She saw their heads slowly nod. "Good. Now, when I add back your voices do not panic." Twilight told them. "Okay?" They nodded again. Twilight's horn lit up once more, adding back their voices. Pinkie took a deep breath, as if she was going to panic again, but only responded with a long exhale. Looking behind her, Twilight realised that there was a large crack going through one of the houses. The ponies that inhabited that house were standing outside, looking at their broken home in disappointment. "What do ya'll get from all this?" Applejack asked, tilting her hat forwards. "I'm not sure." Twilight sighed, then perked her ears up. "But I'm pretty sure I know who might." "Discord?" Pinkie joked. "Midnight." Twilight rolled her eyes. "We should go to her shack; and quick." She was pacing again, burying her hooves into the wooden floorboards. She was memorising every spell that could possibly at least slow down the glitched creature, and was awoken by the trance from a knock on her shabby door. Marching towards the door, she flung it open and walked towards the middle of the room to let them all in. Only the elements of harmony were there this time. Midnight flicked her hair, and turned towards the herd. "What's up?" "Have you not looked outside?" Rainbow Dash snapped. "There are cracks in the earth!" "That's called an earthquake, Dash." Midnight informed her. "You think I don't know that?" Dash argued. "We don't normally have earthquakes, you know?!" "I know that." Midnight smirked. "Don't worry, it just means that Armageddon is coming." "Yeah, that really lightens the mood." Applejack spat. "Calm yourselves." Midnight rolled her eyes. "Something bad has happened, I get that, but it just means that it is getting closer to Judgement Day. We have bigger problems on our minds." "Really!?" Twilight frowned. "Bigger then Armageddon!? What could possibly be bigger than that!?" "It's Error Pinkie." Midnight turned away from them, and opened up a book on her table. "She sucked the life out of the anti-void." "The anti-what now?" Dash murmured. "The anti-void. It is extremely powerful. Each dimension has one to itself. Sucking the power out of it can cause you to have an enormous increase of power. Luckily, she had only captured three quarters of it. I think she save the last quarter to store something in it... A pony, perhaps." "Great." Dash said sarcastically. "This just makes her more powerful, yet not enough to beat me. If she has been corrupting this dimension, then she could find a way into another, and suck the life out of that anti-void." Midnight swished her body back towards them. "Doing that could add a humongous amount of power on to her shoulders. If she consumes the right amount, that is. Consuming all of the anti-void from another dimension could cause her to explode, but if she's smart enough to know what'll happen..." "How big of a chance do we have on catching her early?" Twilight asked, adding up statistics in her mind. "Not a big one." Midnight responded. "Increasing her powers like this makes her chance of beating me increase as well. And if she beats me..." "We're not going to let you die." Fluttershy puffed up her chest, but then quivered back down. "You're going to make sure I don't die!" Midnight raised her voice. "I won't. Error Pinkie knows what'll happen if I do; she'd probably suck my power out of me or enslave me." "Wait, what'll happen if she kills you?" Rainbow Dash asked out of curiosity. "If she kills me, if anyone kills me, every dimension will collapse; cease to exist." Midnight flicked and piece of her mane that got caught in her mouth. "You will all perish. But Error Pinkie knows that, that's why she wants me alive." Twilight nodded, and lowered her body closer to the floor. She didn't realise how big this was. Not only was Equestria's life was at stake, but so was every dimension that existed out of theirs. If they let Midnight die, that'll be the end of it. No buts or ifs. Twilight spun her head around like an owl, seeing her friends shiver in fear about what's about to come. She sighed, and stepped forwards. "As long as she knows that..." Midnight nodded. "As long as she knows that." //-------------------------------------------------------// XII - Weapons //-------------------------------------------------------// XII - Weapons Another day passed, another day they could not do anything about what was going to happen. With the end of the world right around the corner, Twilight was busy preserving her magic and keeping Ponyville calm about the current earthquakes. If only she could tell them what was actually happening, but she couldn't. Midnight told her not to, and it would just spread more panic. Soon, Midnight called for the alicorn, and told her to bring only herself. Twilight knew that something shady was going to happen, so she ignored her orders and told her friends to come along. Luckily, Midnight knew that she was going to do that... So she prepared the same thing she did to the royal guards when the princesses brought them along. Arriving at her shack once more, Midnight opened the door before Twilight could knock. She and her friends stepped into the shack, and the first thing they saw was her disappointed face. "I told you to only bring yourself." Midnight angrily spat. "You have forced me to do this." Midnight crouched down, and started building up energy. Her body glowed a faint blue and telekinesis built up in her. Twilight reacted quickly, firing up her horn and making a sheet of protection over her and her friends. Midnight squished her eyes shut, saving her energy and then finally releasing it, causing the whole room to appear white. Once Twilight's vision regained itself, she soon noticed that her friends were gone from the shield. She looked confused, and powered down her horn, taking away the shield and then quickly jerked her head towards Midnight and opening her wings to make herself look more intimidating. "What did you do!?" Twilight yelled. "Why didn't my shield work!?" "I told you to come alone, and you didn't listen." Midnight felt more calmer now. "Telekinesis can easily overpower magic, no matter how strong of a shield you have. But since you tried to counter my energy, your friends might of had a more painful trip back home then the royal guards did." "What!?" Twilight gasped. "Don't blame me, it was your fault." Midnight turned away towards her book. Twilight felt angry, sick with rage. She quickly lit up her horn with as much magic she could handle and fired a beam at Midnight. The white mare teleported away just in time, and appeared next to Twilight. She put her hoof on the alicorn's shoulder and attempted to calm her down. "Enough!" Twilight screeched, powering up her horn once more, and making a shield around herself, forcing Midnight backwards. She then made the whole room turn a faint purple colour, and kept firing beams at wherever Midnight went. She broke the table, destroyed the bookshelf, made multiple holes in the walls and blasted down a door, but she wasn't able to hit the white mare. Finally, Midnight got close to Twilight, and touched her horn, sucking the magic out of her. Instead of transferring the power to herself, Midnight pulled out a jar and put it all in there. With her alicorn magic sucked out of her, the only thing she was able to do was fly, and even then she felt too weak. "Please tell me what the hell you were thinking." Midnight told her calmly, lighting up every broken thing with blue and fixed everything, then set the jar of Twilight's magic on the fixed table. "I..." Twilight laid down, weakly. "You're just sitting around... Telling us we shouldn't care about the end of the world... Why won't you do anything about it..?" Midnight crouched down to Twilight, lifting up her chin to meet her gaze, then smiled softly. "I'm not doing nothing, Twilight... I'm doing my job. I'm tracking down the Error. I'm trying to fix the natural disasters. But, if you come here, bringing you friends, trying to attack me... I won't have enough power to beat her. You just need to trust me." Twilight nodded. "Can I have my powers back, please?" "Promise me you will not attack me." Midnight stood up. "I promise." Twilight responded. Midnight switched her body towards the table, lifting up the jar of magic with her telekinesis. She lifted it near Twilight's horn, then opened it. The lavender aura swirled around Twilight's horn in a mist-like fashion, before absorbing itself into her horn. Twilight's colour regained, and she was able to stand up again. "What did you call me for?" Twilight asked, stumbling around a little bit. "I have found something that may be of use to you." Midnight told her, levitating a large box next to her. She opened it, revealing a sword. "A... Sword..?" Twilight said, confused. "It's not just a sword, dumbass." Midnight rolled her eyes. "It might seem and work in a similar way to a sword, but if you stab an Error with this, they become paralysed." "So... It won't kill them?" Twilight was disappointed. "No, but it can paralyse them." Midnight slammed the lid shut. "Use this on it, and it can give me time to kill her once and for all." "Why are you giving me this..?" Twilight asked. "I can only trust you to do this for me." Midnight informed her, levitating the box in Twilight's face. "Please, protect it, and use it in battle." "Of course, anything." Twilight took the box off of her, and levitated it to her side. "S-Sorry again for attacking you." "I get it all the time, really." Midnight told her. "No one likes or prefers to trust me. It's as simple as. But I guess not everyone likes some wacko that claims to be a God, then is proven to be right in the future." "Y-Yeah, guess not." Twilight took off, exiting the shack and the Everfree. She hid the box from anyone who might be concerned what was in it, and managed to sneak past her friends. She made it to her home, and put the box underneath her bed, a place where possibly no-one would find it without feeling wrong about being in her room in the first place. //-------------------------------------------------------// XIII - Evacuation //-------------------------------------------------------// XIII - Evacuation Hours flew by, and the dawn of the next day awoke Twilight through the crack through the curtain. She crawled out of bed and noticed Spike coughing up a letter in the corner of her eyes. The paper was a weird colour, damp and had many things engraved into it, usually images of an eye. Twilight used her magic to open up the letter. "Twilight, I am writing to you to tell you some important information. To save your time, I wrote a letter instead of talking face-to-face. I have an important task I ask of you; evacuate Ponyville. You may think that I am being silly, but I am serious. I was thinking about the Ponyville citizens, until I was able to take a glimpse at the future if we did not evacuate. I saw nothing but corpses, and only few were spared, but only to become souvenirs. Please, listen to me. I do not want to be held responsible for any casualties, and I do not want to be taking souls from their bodies. Midnight." Twilight tilted her head, then looked at Spike, setting the letter neatly down on the table. Spike looked back at her in surprise, as she read the letter out loud. They looked at each other in silence. Finally, Twilight decided to break the silence. "Spike, do you know what this means!?" She asked him, spreading her wings and flying towards the top of her bookshelf. "No, not really." Spike mumbled. Twilight sighed, then levitated her own paper and quill, handing it to him. "Take a letter." She flew back to the ground. Spike nodded, still confused, but he followed his friend's orders. Twilight cleared her throat. "Dear Princess Celestia, I have recently received a letter from Midnight telling me to evacuate Ponyville, as she fears that the battle may cause casualties. If this is true, than the battle that we are going to be apart of might be bigger than what we had expected. I am just checking with you to confirm this, as we should evacuate them to Canterlot. From, Princess Twilight Sparkle." Spike finished writing, then settled the quill on the table. He rolled the paper into a scroll and then blew green fire on to the letter, surrounding it in a blaze and sending it to Princess Celestia. He then turned to Twilight. "Do you think the Princess would let you evacuate everyone to Canterlot?" "I'm not sure, Spike." Twilight admitted. "Knowing her, she would probably take every pony to the other side of Equestria. Then again, we don't want to spread panic..." "What do you think the ponies would think about the evacuation?" Spike questioned. "Like I said, I'm not sure. They would start making accusations if we don't tell them, no doubt." As she finished her sentence, Spike coughed up a letter that was sent by Princess Celestia. Spike held tight on to it, and then opened the scroll. He read it out loud. "Dear Princess Twilight, if Midnight had told you to evacuate everyone, then so be it. Please make sure that the Ponyville citizens do not know why they are being evacuated, just get the job done even if you have to tell a white lie. From Princess Celestia." Twilight nodded. Quickly, she started packing a saddle bag filled with scrolls, quills and other essentials, like lists. She then signalled Spike, who jumped on her back. Without saying a word, they set off out of their library and out of the castle, where Fluttershy was waiting for her. Twilight walked down to her. "Good morning, Fluttershy." Twilight greeted. "Oh, good morning..." Fluttershy whispered. "What brings you here?" Spike asked. "I just wanted to be with someone, really..." The yellow pegesus murmured. "I'm scared about what's about to happen." Twilight smiled softly, wrapping her arm around Fluttershy. "Don't worry! We're evacuating the town... Do you wanna help?" "Why?" Fluttershy kindly asked. "Is something going on?" "Don't you remember?" Twilight sighed. "The fight is taking place here! We have no choice..." Fluttershy lowered her ears. "What...?" "But don't spread panic." Twilight quickly interfered. "We're just going to tell everyone that Parasprites are going to attack again, and we need to get them to Canterlot." "O-Oh..." Fluttershy squeaked. "S-So we have to lie..?" "It's not like we have a choice. If we tell them what is actually going to happen, everyone will panic." Spike told her. "I guess that's true..." Fluttershy nodded. "I'll join you." "Me and Spike have to go to the town hall first, why don't you round up all of your animals?" Twilight suggested. "Meet us by the train station." "O-Okay..." Fluttershy whispered, then crouched down and launched herself into the air, spreading her wings and taking flight, heading towards her little cottage. Twilight raced towards the town hall with Spike clinging on to her mane in hopes that he wouldn't fall off. The saddle bags clinked together as they ran. Avoiding pedestrians, they came upon the large building, slowing down before they enter it. Hopping inside, they charged towards Mayor Mare. The lavender alicorn memorised what she was going to say, repeating it again and again, going through every possible thing that the Mayor might say to her, and making sure that she had a comment for any response she gives. When they approached Mayor Mare, Twilight stopped in her tracks and took a deep breath. "Good morning, Mayor Mare." Twilight panted. "I have some news." Mayor Mare watched as Spike climbed down from Twilight's back. "Oh, what's wrong?" "We have to evacuate the town." Twilight told her. "Parasprites are heading towards Ponyville." "What?" Mayor Mare tilted her head. "Who told you that..?" "Um..." Twilight stuttered. "Princess Celestia! And she said that there is going to be a big swarm." "Yeah, like, really big!" Spike exclaimed, trying to help. "Oh dear." Mayor Mare gasped. "We need to evacuate quickly, then! But where to?" "To the train station." Twilight ordered. "We'll get a train to Canterlot. The Princess will be waiting." Mayor Mare nodded, heading out of the town hall. Twilight heard her ordering ponies to head towards the station. Spike and Twilight nodded at each other as many other ponies started to leave the town hall. Spike climbed back on to Twilight's back. They exited with them, then Twilight unfolded her wings and took to the sky. She flew towards Sugar Cube Corner, hoping to find her friends there. Landing in the bakery, she quickly gained the attention of Pinkie, Dash, Rarity, Applejack and Starlight. Stumbling a little bit, she maintained her balance and stood up straight. With that, she coughed and began talking. "We're evacuating the town." Starlight's eyes widened. "What?" As the other girls started to mumble, questioning Twilight's decision. "Why are we evacuating, darling?" Rarity asked. Twilight rolled her eyes. "You don't remember what Midnight said, do you?" Dash shrugged. "Not really." "She said that the fight would take place in the middle of Ponyville, correct?" Twilight raised her eye brow. "Correct." Starlight nodded. "How many ponies do you think'll be caught in the crossfire?" Twilight asked them. She folded in her wings. "I dunno." Pinkie shrugged. "A lot?" She said this with her casual voice, but then realised how bad that was. "Oh." "Fluttershy's at the train station waiting with her animals. Mayor Mare is evacuating ponies. They think a Parasprite swarm is heading towards Ponyville." "You lied to 'em?" Applejack squinted her eyes. "Not like we had a choice." Spike interrupted. "How do you think they would react if we told them someone is gonna try to destroy this dimension?" Applejack sighed, agreeing. "Ah guess that's true." "We don't have much time." Twilight told them. "The train will arrive soon." "Do you really think that one train would fit the whole of Ponyville, dear?" Rarity frowned. "Of course not." Twilight smirked. "I've calculated that in my head, it would take around two trains and a half." "Oh." Rarity huffed. "Ah'll grab the apple family. Meet ya'll in a jiffy." Applejack tipped her hat, then ran off towards the farm. Twilight sat down and wiped the sweat from her forehead. Starlight looked at her in confusion as Spike toppled off her back. "You all right?" She asked her mentor. "I've been running around for a while." Twilight coughed. "That's all. Oh, and yeah, the end of the world." "Right." Starlight grunted, watching Pinkie, Rarity and Dash exit the building. "We're going to win. The world won't end." "You know that Error Pinkie has gotten two civilians already, right?" Twilight snorted. "No doubt she'll try to get more." "We'll save them too." Starlight reassured her. "I know we will." Twilight lifted up her head. "Just-. Try to find everyone, get them to Canterlot." With that, Twilight lifted herself up, with Spike bouncing back on her back. They trotted off, leaving Starlight in the bakery. The unicorn turned to walk upstairs where the Cakes were, and instructed them to go to the train station due to a Parasprite swarm heading to Ponyville. It may be a white lie, but it's better than the truth. //-------------------------------------------------------// XIV - The Meeting //-------------------------------------------------------// XIV - The Meeting Canterlot greeted the Ponyville citizens as if they were royalty. They were shown to the castle, where they would all stay in guest rooms. Fillies were aloud to play in the halls and gardens, as long as an adult and a guard looked after them. There was an all-you-can-eat buffet held in the middle of the castle, and Princess Celestia and Luna made sure to watch over all of them. Discord came to the party not long after, wondering what was going on. Once the Princesses explained what was happening, and telling him that they think they're here because of a Parasprite attack, he played along with the charade. He mainly played with the fillies, making sure that they wouldn't freak out, but eventually resorted to looking after Fluttershy's animals. Not long after the arrival of Ponyville's citizens, Canterlot ponies started questioning what was going on. They were told before this that it was a Parasprite crisis, but they got suspicious after realising how they were being treated. Eventually, to avoid more questions and suspicion, Celestia opened the buffet for Canterlot ponies as well. A day passed, and a letter appeared in Celestia's face. It had the same encryptions on it as Twilight's letter did when she received a letter from Midnight. Upon opening it, she read it carefully and studied the symbols on the paper. The letter commanded for Celestia and Luna to go to Ponyville. When the two Princesses saw who wrote it, they sighed and took to the air. Twilight Sparkle was waiting in the middle of Ponyville, along side Starlight, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Spike and Princess Cadence. The two alicorn Princesses landed next to the lavender alicorn, tilting their heads in confusion. Before they could speak, a spark glinted behind them, and Discord stepped forward, looking around. "Did you get that letter, too?" Discord asked, standing next to Fluttershy. "We did." Twilight nodded, then turned to Celestia. "What's going on?" "I do not know." Celestia informed her. "But it was Midnight who wrote the letters, wasn't it?" "Yeah." Pinkie giggled. "Look! My paper's got funny drawings on it! She must be an artist!" Pinkie held up her letter. "Tomorrow's the battle, isn't it?" Spike retorted. "That must be why she called us here." "But it isn't till tomorrow, dear." Rarity kindly told him. "Why did she call us here now?" Fluttershy looked off into the distance as they tried to figure out what was going on. In the blurry background of the village, she could see a white figure slowly trot towards them. She rubbed her eyes to see clearer, resulting in seeing the black cloak around the white figure. It was obvious that it was Midnight. This time, the cloak wasn't around her face. Rather, around the gash in her stomach. "Look!" Fluttershy squeaked, pointing towards Midnight. They all turned their attention towards the figure. As it trotted closer, they saw who it was. "Hey!" Dash yelled out to her. "What gives? The fight isn't till tomorrow!" As Midnight came closer, they all saw that her cloak was wrapped around her stomach. She calmly walked into the middle of the huddled group, clearing her throat. "I see you have gotten my message." Midnight said in a soothing, robotic voice. Her white eyes sparkled in the sunlight. No one really saw her in proper light, so when the sun reflected off of her mane, it almost blinded one of them. "Yeah, we all did." Twilight sighed. "But what's wrong? Why are we here?" "You did well." Midnight nodded. "You have cleared the town, and made way for the battle. Hopefully the battle will not change location. As of now? You need to stay with me until tomorrow. Prepare your weapons, raise your energy... I will also explain weak spots of Error Pinkie." Luna rubbed her arm. "This... Is going to be a really big battle... Isn't it?" "And bloody." Midnight added. "This will probably give you nightmares... If you survive." "What do you mean, if?" Dash yelled. "I told you that you didn't need to help me." Midnight explained. "Know that this is your choice, not mine. You can back out now, but tomorrow? No surrender." "We understand that." Starlight coughed. "Really?" Midnight snapped in a calm voice, turning to Starlight. "I don't think you do." After a short minute of silence, Cadence broke it. "So, where do we start?" Midnight saw Discord rubbing his arm and sweating. She smirked. "This way." They walked out of Ponyville and into the Everfree. Following the white mare, they came upon the old shack again, this time, more beaten-up. Opening the small door, they entered into the bigger-on-the-inside house. After stepping in, Midnight quickly pulled herself towards the book shelf like a magnet. Using her telekinesis, she levitated multiple books and chests from around the room, stacking them in a neat, orderly pile. She then huffed, sitting down and turned to Twilight. "Where is the weapon that I gave you?" Midnight asked her. Everyone swished their heads to Twilight, who replied. "In my room, under my bed." "That's the safest place you put it?" Midnight smirked. "I have a trillion hidden compartments in my shack. Would it kill you to make one yourself?" Twilight smiled, jokingly. "Heh..." "Well go get it, then!" Midnight winked. Twilight nodded, spreading her wings and racing out of the shack. The others turned to Midnight in need of an explanation. "What? Do you think I'd let you know about that weapon? Half of you are thinking curse words about me." Dash immediately flinched, knowing that one of the ponies was her. Midnight flashed a mischievous grin, then continued to stack books and chests neatly around the room. Around ten minutes later, Twilight came back into the shack, carrying a box in her hooves. She set it down next to Midnight, then returned next to her friends. They were asking what was in the box, and why did Midnight give it to her. Unfortunately, she couldn't answer all of the questions at once. Midnight stomped her hoof hard on the ground, gaining the attention of all of the ponies due to the loud rumble that she made. Midnight glanced down at the box. "It's a sword." Midnight explained. "It can paralyse Error. I gave it to her because I think she can get close enough to the bitch so I can destroy her once and for all." Midnight trotted over to the stacks of equipment. Using her telekinesis, she opened a couple of chests and looked over her shoulder at the group of ponies. She then rotated her body around and pointed at the boxes. "Pick one or two." Spike was the first to step forward. He quickly walked over to a box and peered inside. There were multiple metal bracelets in there. He picked one up and put it on his wrist. He then looked up at Midnight in confusion. Midnight smiled softly at the dragon. "It will be useful for the battle. Error's can create strings that they can attach to you, and control you like a puppet. The bracelet will prevent the strings from attaching themselves to your body." Everyone else quickly raced to the boxes, putting a bracelet on their wrists. Midnight chuckled as they were gathered around the box, walking back to her bookshelf. She then turned back around at the group, who had the bracelets on and now looking at her. "Do you remember those gemstones attached to a string I gave you?" She asked. Twilight nodded, levitating hers up, and the rest followed. Midnight then looked at Celestia, Luna and Cadence. "I didn't give you one, did I?" Midnight realised. "What are they for?" Cadence asked as Midnight levitated a small box and lifted three gemstones out of it. One was a dark blue, another was a creamy, sunlight colour, and the last one was a calming blue crystal. Midnight carefully attached them to a piece of string, then gave the three Princesses one each. "Keep these as close to you as possible." Midnight coughed. "They prevent the Error from mind-controlling you." "But we've got the bracelets..." Discord mentioned. "Why do we need the gemstones?" "This is a different type of mind-control." Midnight explained. "Error's show you your deepest nightmares. The first stage is paralysis, the second stage is where you start seeing things in reverse. The bad become good and the good become bad. The third stage is insanity... Where you start going on a rampage and try to kill everything you see. The fourth stage? Suicide." "That's.... Terrible..." Fluttershy murmured. Midnight looked at Fluttershy, who was quivering on the floor. "The third stage lasts until you have killed at least three ponies. There will be time to get the gemstone to the pony before they suicide." "Hopefully that doesn't happen to us!" Rarity gasped. The words 'hopefully' echoed in Midnight's head. She turned to them again. "Like I said; keep them close. Don't drop them." "We won't." Celestia reassured her, tucking the gem into her mane. Pinkie looked down at the cloak covering Midnight's gash. "What happened there?" She asked, cheerfully. Midnight looked at her injury. "It was bleeding a lot, I had to stop it." She lied. As the day went on, Midnight taught the others about the Error's strengths and weaknesses, explaining as much as she could to them. When it was time for Luna to raise the moon, Midnight told them that it was time to sleep. They needed to raise as much energy as they could. She told them that she would watch over them, as she literally cannot sleep. During the night, Midnight concentrated on the sleeping ponies, trying her hardest to see into their future. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't see what would happen to them during the battle. Midnight sighed, hoping that everyone would be okay. Flicking her fringe, she began coughing. Her eyes lit up a little, and she stumbled. Putting her hoof to her head, she felt the pounding of her brain. Tomorrow will not be a good day. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue A storm was brewing in Ponyville. Trees were coming off of their hinges, the rain hit harder than hail and any-pony who stepped outside got blown away by the wind. Everyone remained indoors until the hurricane calmed down, so ponies had to hide in the nearest shelter they could find if they were outside. Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Starlight Glimmer and Spike had to hide in the crystallite castle that Princess Twilight was living in. The storm was strong enough to blown down some trees, but not a castle. They were all in the castle thrown room. Half of them were standing up, half were sitting on their chairs. Pinkie Pie had baked some food to pass the time, and so everyone could have something to eat. As a loud thunder noise zapped through the hallways, Rainbow Dash had realised something quite odd. "It wasn't supposed to rain today." She pointed out, hovering in the air. "And I didn't get any memo that it was..." "That is strange..." Twilight tapped her hoof on her chin. "Maybe they forgot to tell you?" "I don't think they would of forgotten." Dash crossed her legs. "It would be a pretty low chance if they did." "Do you think something else is going on?" Rarity asked. "Boy, I hope not." Applejack frowned. "This weather'll knock down all mah apple trees! It better stop soon." Fluttershy nodded. "Starlight, do me a favour?" Twilight asked her new pupil. "Go down to the library, get anything that is related to 'unscheduled storms'." "Sure thing, but I still don't know my way around this place..." Starlight chuckled. "I'll go with you." Rarity insisted. Twilight watched as Starlight and Rarity trotted out of the throne room. She then looked towards Dash, who was flying in place. The alicorn wondered what was going on, and hoped it wasn't anything too bad. They were planning on having a break from all of the things that had been happening, and then the storm hit unexpectedly. Hopefully it was just a weather mix-up.
