The Return of the Mad God
Without a Reasonable Doubt
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI trotted down the halls of Canterlot Castle in the night, thinking over the events that happened while I was gone. First of all, Equestria is now at war with the Griffon Empire along with the Dragons, and the biggest threat is the dragons, so that's an issue that I'll deal with in due time. Another thing is that my daughter has been going to school in Ponyville, since she didn't like the noble children in Canterlot school as they always flirted with her and made her uncomfortable. As much I am comfortable with tearing the flirtatious children's hearts out, Luna told me not too, which I agreed to reluctantly.
Finally, there is what happened to all my friends while I was gone. Chrome was now working for the Royal Guard and eventually became the Captain since then. He also got married to Applejack, much to Big Mac's chagrin. And Ace Jack is dating Twilight, probably too scared to take it to the next level. Ace is also a teacher now in Ponyville, just wonderful. Bastard better not antagonize my daughter purposefully.
Other than that, everything's still the same; Equestria is trying to be as peaceful as possible, thieves run amok in Manehattan, and I'm still lazy as fuck. Just wonderful.
I sighed internally, knowing of the many things I had to put on my To-Do list. I'll probably deal with the dragons first by talking to Kaleth, the Champion and King of Dragons. If he doesn't stop what he's doing, I'll just use the near-lethal way to get him to knock it off.
Suddenly, I heard my daughter shout at me, "Dad! Wait up!" I turned and saw her rushing down the hallway.
Smirking, I asked in a humored tone, "What are you doing up this late, sweetheart? I thought mom put you to bed."
She caught up to me, smiling back happily, "I know, but I want to spend time with you since I've never actually got to spend time with you, dad!"
I rubbed my chin with a hoof, looking down at my daughter questioningly, "Isn't it a school day tomorrow?"
She bit her lip, looking down at the ground, "Uh... yeah, it is." She looked back up to me, "But I wanna spend time with you!"
I smiled, crouching down and hugging her, "You know what?"
"What?" She asked, hugging me tighter.
"How about I go with you to school tomorrow morning? And afterwards, you could introduce me to all your friends!"
She pulled away from the hug, looking up at me hopefully, "Really?"
I nodded, "Yep, really. Besides, we're royalty, right? And I got nothing better to do tomorrow, so why not?"
She hugged me, catching me off-guard as I fell to the ground, "Awesome!"
I hugged her back while I was on the ground, "Good, now go to bed, sweetheart. Got a big day tomorrow."
She stood up and looked at me curiously, "Don't you need to sleep?"
I shook my head, standing up, "No, mainly because I'm a literal God, and my need for sleep is very, very small."
She rubbed her chin, deep in thought. Whatever she was thinking about was beyond me. Then her face suddenly lit up, "Then does that make me a demigod?"
I shrugged, "I suppose so, sweetheart. Now get to bed, don't want you to be tired by tomorrow." She hugged me then quickly ran off, hopefully to bed rather than running around the castle.
I arose and began walking to the throne room, where Luna was waiting for me. Like days past, I'm going to spend time with Luna by being in the Night Court. Then a thought crossed my mind; why don't I just teleport? I rolled my eyes, face-palming for my own stupidity. However, when I tried to, I couldn't. Then I realized, those giants didn't give me my magic back.
"Shit..." I whispered to myself, sighing in defeat. I hate walking, even if it is a rather short distance. Hell, the secondary throne room doors were a few meters ahead. Ugh, felt like whole minutes until I finally made it. God, any longer and I may have collapsed from exhaustion.
Pushing the doors open, I saw Luna was speaking to a crowd of Nobles while sitting on her throne, her hoof buried into her right cheek. She was bored obviously, so I needed to make her a little bit more interested in this kind of crap.
I gave the Nobles a look as I walked up on stage. It was a look that blatantly said, 'say a goddamn word about me being late and I'll hurt you'. Of course, one of them didn't see it and spoke up rather pompously, "Well it seems that somepony is late."
I instantly began walking toward him, glaring daggers. The Nobles that were sitting around him stood up and moved away from him, worried that I may hurt them if they got in my way. The Noble looked on in fear as I neared him, baring my sharp teeth. "Say another word and I'll rip your horn off and shove it up your-"
"Tyrant!" Luna shouted at me, and I turned to see that she was blocking her face with a hoof, pretty much embarrassed of my actions. "Take a seat, please."
I snorted, turning back to the Noble, "Speak to me like that ever again without one of the other Princesses around, and I'll tear your heart out." I turned on my heel, heading back to the throne. Upon reaching the throne, I sat next to Luna, glaring at the disruptive Noble. He avoided my cold gaze, and he was very lucky that he did.
"Alright, now everypony, please take your seats." The Nobles all sat down, a few murmuring things about me. Luna, however, continued, "Now that we're all seated, let's start with the requests all of you have. Las Pegasus?" She pointed to a Pegasus with black shades on along with a tuxedo.
He stood up, adjusting his tie and speaking calmly, "The citizens of Las Pegasus have no requests, Princess." He sat back down.
Luna nodded, "Alright. Next, Stalliongrad?"
A very pompous, 'I'm-To-Good-For-You' unicorn stood up. "Stalliongrad has a simple request that we receive more troops to protect our city."
Luna raised a brow, "Protect from what, exactly?"
He gulped, wetting his lips, "There have been recent raids on our city during the night. The raiders are a mix between dragons, griffons, and ponies, each one more dastardly than the other."
Luna nodded, "Alright, I'll talk send a few extra troops to protect your city."
He bowed, "You have my thanks."
"Next, Fillydelphia."
A... griffon stood up? Really? Huh, thought we were at war with them. "We have no requests, Princess. Please continue." He sat back down.
This whole thing continued like that. One after another, each city would either ask for things, or simply pass. I thought that they would make radical requests like 'We need more bits for our new casino!' or 'We must kill off all the dragons so that they are not a threat!'. But no, all I heard was simple, almost minuscule requests.
As it ended and everyone left the room, I felt Luna lean on my shoulder, sighing, "Orion, do you think you could do a favor for me?" Wow, never heard use my name in a thousand years, must be serious.
I wrapped a wing around her, "Sure, what is it?"
"I want you to go with the troops to protect Stalliongrad tomorrow evening." She let out a big yawn, closing her eyes while leaning on my shoulder, "Okay?"
I smirked, "Alright, I suppose so. By the way, I'm going with Twinkle to Ponyville and visit during school."
She nodded sleepily, "That's fine by me, but promise me you'll support the troops."
I nodded, "I promise." And so, Luna fell asleep on my shoulder and I put her over my back and carried her over to her room, using my magic to set her on the bed. I followed suit, yawning before I got into bed. She snuggled against my chest, and I smiled happily at her. If this was what it was like to be the semi-good guy, then I officially call myself a dumbass for not going good before. I closed my eyes and let the embrace of sleep take me, sending me into a moderately good sleep.
