Son Goku had never even dreamed of a place like Equestria or its inhabitants (mostly because the majority of his dreams consisted of him becoming the greatest martial artist of all time, or eating, or some combination of both). But after an unknown set of circumstances lands him in the magical world (and a decent fight based on misunderstanding) he almost immediately makes new friends, especially with a little purple and green dragon by the name of Spike.

Despite being a bit of a wimp, Spike tells him that he seeks to uncover the truth about his heritage by seeking out the dragons of the land, many of whom are bigger than any creature Goku has ever seen.

So, without a second thought, Goku offers to tag along and watch over Spike for Twilight and the other elements, swearing to them that he’ll bring Spike back safe and sound and karate chop and ki-blast anypony (or dragon) who gets in the way.

And thus, he and Spike hop aboard the flying nimbus and begin a grand journey of discovery spanning the globe with more twists and turns than that stupid maze in Muscle Tower built by those Red Ribbon Army jerks.

A makafushigi adventure, if you will…
