He sent me...here?
A REALLY stronger loving world.
Load Full StoryThe Antarctic winds and chills whipped around him, the one he was facing off against could feel nothing. Literally, the one known as Jon Osterman once, now Dr. Manhattan hadn't felt the sensations of cold or heat in years. Standing before him, the one born as Walter Kovacks, now only knew himself Rorschach was screaming. "Go on do IT!" While unmasked, his true self begging to protect a secret that could alter the whole world drastically. Manhattan raised a light blue arm and felt only indifference as he focused his energy, something he'd do ninety seconds or so later, he only hoped they wouldn't be seeing each other soon. With a blinding flash and zap of Tachyons, His fellow Watchman was gone.
He never questioned what would happen when he eventually died, only that he knew it would happen. He had spent his entire life around death, everything that been leading up to this event was triggered by death. He didn't wonder if he would see The Comedian or Moloch on "the other side." He always imagined it would be the end, nothing. Everything he had done in his life meant nothing after feeling the flash, but it wasn't like that. At first he though Jon had teleported him like he had done to so many others, because he could still feel himself breathing, still felt a pulse in his veins. 'Not dead? What did Osterman do?' He thought to himself as his nose sucked in...grass?
His muscles felt stiff and sore, like he'd been lying down on ground for God knows how long. His 'face' was still in the pocket of his brown trench coat, if he was still alive, he'd better put it back on. He got up and was blinded by another flash of light, 'Manhattan must be messing with me, must have developed a sense of sadism after Adrian blasted him apart.' He though as the light washed over his eyes, but it wasn't a light that destroyed him, it was sunlight. 'What the hell?' He thought raising a hand up to shield his eyes. Finally they adjusted to the light, he took in all his surroundings. Grass everywhere, trees in bloom, apple trees. Butterflies and birds flying about and flowers. For once not roses placed on someone's grave, but real flowers. 'What the hell did you do to me Osterman?' He thought to himself as he began to walk off into the unknown of the sunny meadow. A far cry from the grimy alleys and dirty streets of New York.
Some distance away from him, a strange (to him) creature was busy. The creature on earth would have been considered an equine, a relatively young one, a pony. She was standing beside a flower basket she had taken with her into the grass to place flowers in. Yes this pony was smart and congnitive enough to know to pick flowers with her muzzle and place them in a basket. "Mhhh I love the way the buttercups leave a creamy taste in my muzzle." The yellow pony said as a few butterflies landed on her nose. "Hehehee, hello my little friend, come to keep me company...while..I...I" She paused when a strange figure stood over the crest of hill, it wasn't like anything she had ever seen before, and she was an animal expert. It had a brown skin on most of its body save for black and white stripes on its legs. It took her a while to realize these were clothes it were wearing because of how she had never seen such a thing. The feature that made her freeze with fear was its "Face." It was all white, with swirling black shapes that seemed to constantly change as it got closer.
Rorschach conversely was baffled a bit by seeing this creature. He had never seen horses up close, save for the carriages in central park and the mounted cops in a few places like the park. He never had enough money to pay for one of those buggy rides, and frankly he never really cared. Too much in the world to focus on, mean streets to clean, evil to punish. It seemed like there wasn't any here. He approached the tiny frightened creature cautiously, his history with animals wasn't a very good one. It was then, only THEN that things got weirder. The pony began to lift itself into the air on wings! He had seen some things in his world that were hard to swallow, Manhattan probably being the most garish of them all, but this was beyond his belief. "Easy there girl...I'm not gonna hurt you." He said softly holding a hand out and clicking his teeth the way the handlers in central park had done, though he often wondered if that really did anything. To his surprise, the pony spoke.
"mmmm mmm..MONSTER!" She cried out as her wings carried her away from him, defying everything that would have indicated Manhattan had teleported him someplace on earth. Rorschach made a signature 'hurm.' that he often made when a situation baffled him and felt the latex of his 'face.' reminding himself that most who saw it didn't take kindly to it.
"Where am I? Why did I end up here?" He said aloud to himself, he wished he still had his Journal, that was the one place the world...any world, mad sense to him.
"Now just calm down and tell me slowly and clearly Fluttershy, what did this "Monster" look like?" Twilight Sparkle said as she used her magic to pour a cup of tea to calm the wily pegasus down. She had come charging into the princess of friendship's castle screaming, huffing, and puffing about some monster with a face of shapeless white and shifting black, and those clothes he wore. Twilight gently patted Fluttershy's head and levitated the cup of tea to her muzzle. Fluttershy slowly sipped the tea before calming down enough to continue.
"I hope to Celestia that horrible monster." She was interrupted by the arrival of a royal guard. His coat was disheveled and sweaty, his armor dinged in a few spots, and he was out of breath.
"Pppp...Princess Twilight...we...I...Agent Bon Bon has...captured the creature Ms. Fluttershy encountered in the meadow. He was bruised and in a feew breaths he began to bleed a bit through his nose." The sight of said royal pony guard and his news made her uneasy.
"Oh....Great." She said with a huff. Her wings folded back and she floated back to the ground, unlike her friend Rainbow dash who could easily stay aloft.
"Come on Fluttershy, you told off a dragon once, how bad can two legged creature that doesn't even have magic or claws, or even very sharp teeth do?" She asked in her usual smugness.
"RAH!" Rorschach shouted at the creamy coated mare as she slammed the cell bars on him, his red hair was disheveled and he had a lot of old bruises and marks from previous encounters. Bon Bon adjusted the shades that had gotten knocked askew in the scuffle, she had seen some pretty tough monsters in her days, but this guy was enough to give her a run for her money! He and her had a face off as he saw her place his "face" in a drawer, for evidence. "You got guts...whatever you are, I'll give you that." He said in a gravely, harsh voice as Bon Bon only chuckled and smirked.
"Well you're pretty tough for a small monster." She said cracking her haunches and then flicking his nose like a school filly, this only seemed to anger the monster more. He growled and rattled the cell bars hard.
"Lemme outta here! I swore I'd never be locked again after Sing-Sing!" He snarled and rattled his cage wildly, Bon Bon knew animals and monsters inside out. He'd run out energy soon, but she'd be ready in case he didn't.
