Into the Swing of Things

Rex looked up at the tall brick building and then over at Obsidia, a disgusted look on his face. "Welcome to Hell." Obsidia muttered, shrugging her shoulders.
"You're crazy, right?" he asked, running a hand through his short hair and swinging a back pack onto his shoulder. The former tyrannosaur unicorn stallion was now a strong teen with a little bit of facial hair on his chin. His clothes were not the prettiest sight to behold either. He wore grit covered jeans that might've once been blue, though you wouldn't be able to tell. Rex's shirt was a brown t-shirt that he wore underneath a thin, dirty, black plaid jacket.
"Wish me luck." Rex declared with a sigh as he followed Obsidia into the school.
"Good luck." she replied with a giggled. "I'll see you later!" Obsidia called after him as she went to meet up with her friends.
"You must be Mister Rex!" a voice said, startling him. On instinct, he swung around and went to bite the person. "WHOA! I didn't mean to scare you there, bud!" a bearded man said. He wore a tag with a photo ID and a red vest with yellow swirls. His skin was a pale grey and his eyebrows were quite bushy.
"DON'T call me bud." Rex growled.
"You should be lucky I'm not the principal anymore or you would already have a detention for that attitude. Fortunately for you, I'm just the science teacher." the man said. "Now then, my name is Discord." he continued, holding out a hand. Rex lifted an eyebrow in confusion. "You're supposed to shake it." Discord said, rolling his eyes. Rex grabbed the man's hand and slowly shook it.
"Rex." the dirty teen said.
"Nice to meet you." the teacher replied, pulling his hand away. To his surprise, hid hand was covered in mulch. "Now, you might want to wash your hands." Discord said slowly, choosing his words carefully.
"Mm. Where am I supposed to go?" Rex asked, not really listening to what the science professor said.
"Your homeroom." Discord replied flatly, as if it was obvious.
"Where is that, exactly?" he asked, starting to become annoyed.
"Go to the main office and go get your schedule to find out." Discord replied, pointing toward the room with the door marked "OFFICE." Rex nodded and jogged over to the room.
-Twenty Minutes Later-
Rex rested his chin on the desk and allowed his eyelids to drop slightly as he listened to the teacher ramble on about something to do with some kind of war among monsters. 'Monsters don't exist.' he thought to himself, rolling his eyes as he fiddled with a pencil.
"Mister. Rex, would you mind telling us what kaiju were involved in Operation: Final Wars, since you seem so interested?" the teacher asked, catching the teen off task.
"Yes." Rex replied flatly, sitting upright.
"Really? Let's see what the principal has to say about that behavior." she replied, placing her hands on her hips.
"Let's not and say we did." he grumbled. The other students looked over at Rex with shock written all over their faces. "What're YOU lookin' at?" Rex growled at a student beside him. The student swiftly turned her head away from him.
"To the office. NOW." the teacher commanded, grabbing Rex's sleeve and making her best attempt to pull him from his seat. When Rex finally did rise, the teacher fell to her rear. The students stifled back laughter as he pulled the teacher back up.
"You okay?" he asked her, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm fine, Rex. Please go to the office. I don't want to fight with you about this." she said, brushing off her skirt.
-The Main Office-
"You don't seem like a bad person to me. A bad person wouldn't have helped her up. You may head back to class." the woman said. "It was nice meeting you." she continued as Rex let himself out of the room.
"Rex!" a voice called. The former unicorn turned to see Obsidia approaching him with a smile on her face. "Did you get in trouble already?" she asked him with a smirk.
"Wasn't my fault she expected me to know about monsters." he said defensively, putting his hands up as the bell jingled loudly.
"C'mon. I'll take you to the cafeteria." Obsidia said, taking his hand and pulling him along.
-Several Minutes Later-
"This is Rex." Obsidia told her friends, introducing her boyfriend. Rex waved a hand as one teen looked up at him with disgust.
"He looks like he just got done bathing in cow crap." she said. Rex held back a growl and sat himself on a chair with his lunch tray. Obsidia grimaced apologetically.
"Don't mind her, Rex. My friends call me Rhino." a young man with side burns said with a grin.
"Your boyfriend's cute." a lady whispered into Obsidia's ear, a devious smile on her face as she turned to Rex. "Hi, I'm Lavender. You remind me of Obsidia's father." she told the former saurian. Rhino began to cough loudly, soon explosively, at the words.
"ONYX?! Are you crazy? This guy seems a lot more fun than ONYX!" he coughed, not even giving himself time to catch his breath. "Rex. Lemme tell ya something. You're the first guy who's managed to get this close to Obsidia without her father trying to KILL you! Talk about defensive! I met the guy once. If looks could kill, I wouldn't be here!"
Rex chuckled and Obsidia frowned.
"When he caught me sleeping with Obsidia he almost DID kill me." the teen chuckled, planting a kiss on Obsidia's cheek. Her face flushed slightly before returning to it's normal hue.
