The Return of Nightmare Moonby ZeydarxxChaptersThe Return of the NightmareCelestia's ImprisonmentThe Control of Twilight SparkleThe End of EquestriaThe Return of the NightmareIt was a beautiful evening in Equestria. All the ponies were going to bed as Princess Luna lowered the sun to make way for the moon. Whilst doing so, Luna felt a pulse in her head. She grimaced and moved a good to her head. After a few seconds, she assumed it was nothing and went back finishing the task at hoof. As the moon rose to dance with the stars, she stared at it and smiled. Then, whilst only for a brief moment, the alicorn could have sworn that she had seen a silhouette of a mare in the moon. She blinked and, after coming to the conclusion that her mind was playing tricks, she headed back inside the castle. She trotted back to her bedroom, smiling politely at the guards in the hallway, who saluted or raised their heads in return. She said goodnight to her sister and climbed into her four poster bed. As she did, she felt a small itch in her back. The itch then turned into a stinging sensation that spread throughout her upper body. It quickly spread through her body and turned into a burn. She couldn't scream or even speak; she was overpowered by the pain. Luna darted to the mirror. As she did, the alicorn saw herself glowing blue. Suddenly everything went blue, then black. Luna was gone. The mare standing in front of the mirror was none other than Nightmare Moon herself. Nightmare chuckled to herself. "Now," she muttered to no one whatsoever, "where's my old friend Twilight Sparkle?" End of chapter 1. Celestia's ImprisonmentCelestia stood in the throne room of the castle. She knew her 'sister' would show up. She told the guards to leave the palace and protect the citizens. Sure enough, Nightmare Moon showed up. "Hello, sister," she said in a sly tone. "You are no sister of mine!" Celestia shot back at the mare that had just flown in through the window, smashing it in the process. "You're a monster." Nightmare Moon just laughed. "I'm a monster?" She yelled, her voice echoing around the room. "You were the one who trapped me in the moon for a thousand years!" "It was your fault I did that." Celestia sounded like she had just remembered something she wanted to forget. Nightmare ignored her. "Well, my dear sister," she said in a tone of fake sweetness. "I'm just here to return the favor. As I was trapped in the moon and I raise the moon, I think it's only fair that, as you raise the sun, you get trapped in the sun!" Celestia scoffed. "The sun's a ball of gas. I can't be trapped in it." "Exactly. You'll die the second I send you there." She turned to face the broken window. "Here, Twilight." A purple alicorn with bright red eyes flew in, smashing even more of the glass as she did. "What is your wish, master?" She said, as if in a trance. Oh, wait... "What have you done to her?!" Celestia screamed, stepping forward. "Twilight, stop her from moving." Twilight then fired a bolt of magic at the princess of the sun. Celestia, now with a purple glow around her, could move nothing but her face. "You won't get away with this, Nightmare!" Nightmare Moon laughed again. "Oh, but Celestia," she paused and grinned. "I. Already. Have." She shot her own bolt of magic at Celestia, who vanished instantly. The mare of darkness laughed for a third time, stopped, told Twilight to join in, and then continued. "Equestria is mine. All mine." Her face went darker. "All mine to destroy!" She then realised Twilight was still doing an 'evil' laugh. It sounded like a robot having a heart attack. Nightmare turned to her and said. "You were a good help Twilight," she paused, "but you are no longer needed. Say hello to my sister for me!" She shot at Twilight, making her disappear too. "Now, back to Equestria..." The Control of Twilight SparkleTwilight was just getting into bed. She'd reorganized the books for the third time in one day. Thee first time she needed to, and the other two were 'for fun'. She stood at the balcony to the library and watched the moon rising into the sky. She then saw something dash across the sky. 'Bit late for birds to still be up.' She thought. She then headed back inside. She climbed into bed and shut her eyes. "Hello, Princess." Twilight jolted upright. Who said that? Where did that voice come from? She opened her eyes. A sinister looking mare was glaring back into them. "Nightmare Moon!" Twilight screamed. "The one and only". With that line, Nightmare grabbed Twilight in a dark blue cloud of magic, slamming her into a shelf of books, causing several to fall to the ground. Just then, Spike entered the room. "Hey!" He shouted, appearing to forget who he was talking to. "Let her go!" The princess of darkness turned from giving a struggling Twilight a sharp stare to glare at the baby dragon. She laughed. "Haha haha no." She smirked slyly. "What are you going to do?" Spike charged at her, not realising it was a trap. Twilight knew that Nightmare was happy he'd charged at her. Twilight tried to warn him. "Spike, no!" Too late. A bolt of magic shot from the alicorn's horn, hitting Spike. He made a noise that could only be described as a cross between a scream of pain, a gasp and a goose choking on a mint imperial. There was a flash, and Spike was gone. In his place was a pile of dust. "Spike..." Twilight could only whisper, tears racing down her face. "Oh don't worry," Spike's murderer said in a tone of mock pity. "You'll forget about him soon enough." She then cast a spell on Twilight. The purple alicorn gasped. Her eye colour changed to grey. She felt her brain burning, her memories flashing right in front of her before... Twilight fell to the ground. Well, it was Twilight's body, but Twilight wasn't inside. She was gone. What inhabited the body of a purple alicorn was a red eyed empy shell, completely under Nightmare Moon's control. The evil alicorn led the horse (which, to prevent confusion, I will still refer to as Twilight) out of the library. Just before they flew into the night, the princess shot a bolt of magic at the library, causing it to burst into flames. She chuckled. "Come on, Twilight," she said, both evil and satisfaction flaring in her voice with every syllable. " let's pay my sister a little vist..." The End of EquestriaWith the whole of Equestria at her disposal, she knew what she wanted: to get revenge on the land for being stuck in the moon. She hated the fact that the ponies in the town rejoiced when she was locked away, and forgot all about her. She'd make them pay. Pay with their land and their lives. She flew to the fountain in the heart of the town and screamed, "You all forgot about me when I was imprisoned, so I'm going to make you all suffer!" With that, she fired magic at a real coloured pony with a harp for a Cutie Mark into a potato. The rest of the crowd screamed and ran. Nightmare Moon turned some more horses into vegetables before she got a little more violent. One pony spontaneously caught fire. Another started to shrink until they had disappeared. Two others were turned into wood as the burning pony darted past. A grey pegasus with bubbles on her flank was turned into a rock, smashing on impact with the ground. She got even worse, one pony straight up exploded. Another started melting. After the massacre, and after a few houses were set alight, the new ruler of Equestria then shot a ray of magic at the moon. Slowly it began to move forward towards the land. Nightmare Moon knew full well that she would die too, but she couldn't care less. She just wanted Equestria destroyed, no matter what the cost. With a final laugh, the moon hit.
