Here It Is. Here Is The End

The world turned tense that day when the Changelings put Equestria under siege. It was on the radio: half an office of workers captured by the other half of workers. Changelings.

Then it spread in minutes. One of them was my neighbor, and to this day I am glad I did not know him well. Others were not so lucky. I saw parents devoured by what they thought was their child, or friends picked off one by one at a party.

Bombs went off to contain the threat. Raiders and riots tore down building to get what they wanted. It could be called chaos, but it was all common place. I looked at it, and it was like the disaster was nothing at all.

No, the apocalypse was not silent or chaotic. It was tense. The ringing in your ears when the streets of the biggest cities are empty, but you knew it could change the moment the wings of the enemy began buzzing through the air. It was that kind of tense. No silence was truly silent.
