A new best friend
In the streets of Canterlot down the steps of canterlot palace during a rainstorm, a group of male unicorns were picking on a small unicorn. One slammed him one the ground spilling the contents of his saddlebag. He was unicorn filly with gold eyes, a dark blue coat and a silver and black mane that was cut short and combed back around his left ear and His tail was bushy, unkempt and had the same colors as his mane. He also has no cutie mark. As he got up with tears in his eyes, the largest male filly had a white coat and a golden mane and blue eyes with a cutie mark of a silver star.
He laughed, “Look every pony the great Chronos is crying. He's top of the class and he still won’t use magic to defend himself.”
The other ponies laughed. The large male slammed him into the puddle again then he with his magic took his saddlebag and dumped all of his books into the water. Chronos just starred at the falling rain then out of nowhere a unicorn with a white mane with blue eyes and and a long blue mane with a scruffy blue tail with a cutie mark with a shield and a red star in the middle. The new comer came forward and slammed his hooves into the lead unicorn and threw him to the ground and then he came to Chronos’s side.
He shouted, “If any of you want to stay and fight that’s fine. However, you should all know I am training to be captain of the royal guard one day if I ever see any of you picking on a filly again, I’ll make sure my teacher knows about it and he’ll tell your parents, got it!”
The ponies all got terrified even the large male who was their leader.
Shining Armor shouted, “scram!”
As they bolted down the street, he turned to Chronos who as watching the raindrops hit the cobblestone.
Shining armor came up then said, “Are you okay?”
Chronos sighed, “I’m fine but my books aren’t.”
Shining armor starred at his books then said, “I’m sorry.”
Chronos got up and replied, “It’s not your fault… By the way thank you for helping me.”
Chronos trotted over to the wet books and his saddlebag and started to use his magic to place all of his wet books into his saddlebag.
Shining armor said, “What’s your name?”
Chronos looked up then said “Chronos."
Shining armor then said “I’m Shining Armor.”
As Chronos clasped his saddlebag on his back, shining armor saw a book near his hooves it read, “Psychic powers are they real?” Chronos lifted the book in the air and placed it in his saddlebag.
Shining Armor replied, “You’re into some weird books.”
Chronos stammered, “Please don’t mention it to any pony. I’m already a freak.”
Shining armor replied, “You’re not a freak.”
Chronos scoffed, “Tell that to my class mates.”
He then started to trot down the road.
Shining armor replied, “Hey my house is nearby want to wait out the storm there?”
Chronos sighed, “My parents are expecting me. I’m already late.”
Shining armor replied, “Don’t worry about it you can a write a letter to them and when they write back then maybe you can stay over for a bit.”
Chronos sighed, “Fine.”
He followed Shining armor down the roads and he then comes upon a house it was small with four windows white door and small yard. Shining armor opens the door and then so does Chronos. Twilight Velvet come to greet them with a smile she has light blue eyes coat white mane stripped white with purple and a cutie mark of three purple stars Little Twilight Sparkles was trotting by her. Over the blue carpet with a purple coach and a warm hearth with pictures of their family throughout the house, over the hearth was a family photo of twilight velvet and Night light holding an infant twilight and a toddler Shining Armor next to them. Shining Armor smiles as he rushes his mother smiles and hugs him
Twilight Velvet smiled, “You’re getting the carpet wet.”
She then teleported a towel to where she was standing and then dried him off then she said, “How was school?”
Shining Armor smiled, “It was great we went over formation and drill and my teacher said I was the best.”
Twilight velvet ruffled his mane then she looked up to see Chronos standing in the doorway.
She got concerned, “Shining armor, who is this?”
Shining armor trotted over and put his right hoof around Chronos’s neck and said, “This is Chronos he had some trouble coming back from the academy.”
Chronos bowed and said, “Would it be okay if I can borrow some paper and ink so I can tell my parents that I’m here.”
Twilight Velvet smiled and then she threw placed the towel over Chronos and dried him off as well.
She replied, “Of course you can, I’ll bring some paper and an ink pot and a quill you just stay there.”
She headed out of the living room with the wet towel in her magic. The toddler Twilight Sparkle went up to Chronos and starred at him with awe.
She smiled then said “Who you?”
Chronos then said, “I’m…Just a friend.”
She then said “Friend.”
She hugs his leg .
Shining armor snickered then said, “She usually doesn’t warm up strangers that easily.”
Chronos replied, “How old is she?”
Shining armor replied, “She just turned three the other day. We had a huge birthday party.”
Chronos nods then takes the toddler Twilight off his leg with his magic then she began to cry and then she hugged his leg again then Chronos sighed
Shining Armor laughed then said, “I guess you’re stuck there.”
Chronos and said “Yeah I guess so. Anyways why did you help me?”
Shining armor replied, “What those ponies were doing to you was wrong I had to stop it. But, why didn’t you fight back? or at least get help? “
Chronos then said, “I don’t know. I think I just got used to the bullying.”
Twilight then said “Bully?”
Chronos then said, “No you’re not a bully you’re a friend.”
She smiled and continued to hold on his leg. Twilight Velvet returned from downstairs with the quill and some paper then she smiled as twilight. She giggled then she trotted over to Twilight velvet she smiled as she magically put the ink pot quill and paper on the desk in front of the purple coach then she picked up Twilight.
Twilight Velvet then said “Were you bothering our guest?”
She giggled then said “Story time!”
Twilight Velvet nuzzled her then said, “Alright I’ll read to you. Go pick out your favorite story. “
She turned to the two fillies and nods as she leads Twilight Sparkle upstairs then Chronos sat down on the coach and wrote a letter to his mom.
As Shining, armor sat down then said “So? What do you like to do beside read?”
Chronos then said, “Well I like working on my magic skills and I love card games. I’m also working on...”
Shining Armor said, “Is it about that book on psychics?”
Chronos then said, “Shining Armor I don’t know why but I want to trust you. Can you keep a secret just between you and me?”
Shining armor nods then Chronos said, “Well just recently I’ve been getting weird dreams. I wake up in dark world and everything is different. I mean I am still in my bed but everything is black and grey and I can see shapes and strange creatures floating all over the place. The first few times I woke my parents from my screaming. They of course think they were just nightmares. Then I started to read up on my dreams. I don’t know for sure but I don’t think it’s a dream.”
Shining armor then said, “That sounds cool! You have to try it out.”
Chronos then said “I don’t know...”
A letter appeared then Chronos read it in fancy script it said, “Ok how did you do on your test?”
Chronos then took out his saddle bag and picked up a soggy paper with runes and questions with a giant red 100% on it. He rolled it up slowly and teleported it.
He turned to Shining armor then said,” Sorry about that.”
Shining Armor then said, “You must be smart?”
Chronos then said, “I just study a lot. More than most, I don’t really have any friends.”
Shining Armor then said, “You know, I don’t have any real friends either.”
Another scroll appeared then said “Good job Chronos! I am so proud of you. If you want and if shining armor’s parents allow you can spend the night.”
Chronos replied, “Hey shining armor my mom said it will be okay if I spend the night tonight.”
Shining armor then said, “Alright I’ll ask my mom and dad if it’s okay.”
He then galloped out of the living room and up the stairs.
Later that evening the family with Chronos was sitting around a long dining room table. A small chandelier was overhead with beautiful white tile underneath. Twilight Velvet sat far down with little Twilight sitting on a booster seat as Twilight Velvet watched her eat. Night Light with his light blue coat and a smooth dark blue mane and tail with a cutie mark of a giant crescent moon with a smaller crescent moon inside the big one. They were eating salads as Chronos ate slowly used a fork plunging it into the bowl of lettuce cauliflower carrots onions and some dressing drizzled over.
Night Light said, “So Chronos You’re the top of the class in Celestia’s school of magic?”
Chronos then said “Yeah. I just past my rival Silver Star.”
Twilight Velvet said, “Wow and you’re only how old?”
Chronos then said, “I turned eight earlier this year.”
Night Light then said “Shining armor didn’t you pass your drill test too?”
Shining Armor nods then said “Soon we’ll be going over basic fighting and first aid.”
Twilight Velvet then said “That’s my colt.”
Twilight blurted “colt.”
They all laugh
Twilight Velvet turned to Twilight Sparkle then said, “That’s right Colt.”
Twilight Sparkle giggled then said “Colt.”
Chronos said, “So uh Twilight Velvet you were a student of princess Celestia as well?”
She turned to Chronos then said, “I was for a long time and I was the top of my class as well.”
Night Light rolled his eyes then said, “I was close.”
Twilight Velvet giggled “Of course my love.”
Then Night Light said “Chronos we should met your parents tell me would it be okay if we come over tomorrow when we drop you off?”
Chronos then said, “Yeah sure, I don’t see why not?”
Twilight Velvet then said, “So Chronos do you like learning magic?”
Chronos then said, “I use to be. I mean I do not know now. I want to help ponies with magic I just don’t know how yet.”
Night light replied, “It will come naturally you’ll find you calling.”
Chornos nodded then continued eating then he took his cup of grape juice and drank some.
Shining Armor said, “Hey mom are psychics real?”
Chronos coughed on his juice
Twilight velvet said, “No, I don’t think their real.”
Night light then said, “Why did you ask that question.”
Shining armor then said, “Just wondering.”
Then Night light said, “I believe there are things that can’t be explained through magic or science. I studied some of that and came across some amazing books explaining about ponies that can see in the future or be able to read your mind.”
Twilight Velvet then said, “That’s why I was top of the class honey.”
Chronos then said “Night Light did any book talk about weird dreams like visions?”
Night Light shakes his head then said, “No, I only learned about what I said before. But my wife’s right it’s probably a waste of time it’s a subject better left forgotten.”
Shining armor rolled his eyes and continued eating
As Chronos then finished his salad.
Then Shining armor saw that Chronos was done and he hurried up and ate up the rest of his food then shouted, “Can we be excused?”
Twilight velvet then said “Honey?”
Night light nods then said, “All right you two you can play until nine then its lights out.”
Shining armor then said, “Alright, come on Chronos.”
Chronos nods then he bowed and said “Thank you twilight Velvet and Night light.”
Twilight velvet then said, “Your welcome.”
Night Light bows his head then said, “Any time.”
Chronos smiled and trots upstairs with Shining armor they co up the stairs and turns a left here was a small room with a bed with a large blue blanket over it he had the same blue carpet and there was a desk with a paper and a quill in a ink pot. On the left side of his room was a training sword and both of their saddlebags. There was also padded armor on a pony mannequin with a wood dresser on the left side of the room with a large mirror.
Shining armor said, “This is my room, your saddle bag is right next to mine. When you’re ready I’ll grab the extra sleeping bag from the closet downstairs.”
Chronos nods replied “Okay.”
Shining armor closes the door and muttered, “Alright are you ready?”
Chronos laughed, “You really want to see it?”
Shining Armor nods.
Chronos sighed “Okay but you can’t tell any pony…Not even your parents.”
Shining armor apologized “I’m sorry I thought they may know more.”
Chronos then said, “I’ll let it slide. You’re still my friend, anyways this will freak you out for a bit alright so don’t scream and don’t worry.”
He then knelt on the floor he breathes through his mouth then his horn glowed slowly then he opened his eyes they turned to pure white.
Then Shining armor said “Chronos?”
He felt something combing his mane he jumped back and into his dresser then the voice said “It’s me.”
Shining armor gasped, “No way your invisible.”
The voice laughed then said “No not invisible I think I’m in another world. Well it’s the same but everything is grey and black. It’s so weird.”
Shining armor then said “This is kind of creepy.”
The voice said “Alright I’ll come back.”
Chronos eyes closed then they he opened them and they were gold again he then shakes his mane and shivers.
He then said, “It’s always cold when I come back.”
Shining armor replied, “I don’t know much about magic but I don’t think that’s dreaming.”
Chronos shakes his head then said, “I don’t know what it is.”
Shining Armor then said, “Did you ever tell princess Celestia.”
He shakes his head, “You’re the first pony I ever showed this too.”
Shining armor replied, “Well if you ask me that’s the coolest thing Iv’e ever seen.”
Chronos bowed then replied, “Alright now you show me something.”
Shining Armor sighed “Okay.”
His horn glowed and then a small shield went around him
Shining armor then said, “I can make these powerful shields.”
Chronos eyes grew wide he said in awe, “No unicorn in my class can do that, not even me.”
The spell shield vanished.
Shining armor rubs his horn and replied, “It gives me headaches though.”
Chronos replied “Well what do you want do for fun?”
Shining armor replied, “Want to play knight vs dragon?”
Chronos laughed,“Yeah why not?”
Chronos took his saddlebag on top of the bed then he climbed on it and said “Alright I’m the dragon and the bag’s the princess. You got to try to rescue her without waking me up.”
Shining armor nods then said “Alright I got this."
Time passes as the two were going to bed.
Shining armor replied “you cheated you used magic the whole time.”
Chronos laughed, “Okay you got me but you cheated you used your spell shield twice on me.”
Shining armor replied, “Alright well were tied 5 to 5. Next game we break our tie.”
Chronos nods and replied “Okay, but next time i’ll be the knight.”
Shining armor nodded , “deal.”
Twilight Velvet opened the door then replied, “Time for bed you two.”
Shining armor slipped in his bed then Chronos rolled under his sleeping bag.
He replied “good night Twilight velvet.”
Shining armor then said “Good night mom.”
She replied “goodnight.”
She flicked the light off then closes the door.
Shining armor whispered “So are you going to do that weird thing again?”
Chronos then “I can control it now. It won’t happen again.”
Shining armor replied, “I don’t mean to be a little worried but I don’t think you should do that again until you know more about it. Who knows what happens to you when you leave your body like that.”
Chronos replied, “Hey you’re the one who wanted to see.”
Shining armor said, “Yeah your right, but I’m just saying.”
Then Chronos said, “Well that’s why I’m researching psychics and strange phenomenon because both my spell and science books don’t explain it.”
Shining armor replied, “It could be something new like my spell shields.”
Chronos replied “maybe, but anyways… enough about that. I have a question are you really okay being my friend?”
Shining armor said “Yeah I don’t mind.”
Chronos said, “Also is there anything I can do to repay you for helping me?”
Shining armor sighed, “Its fine Chronos, real friends help each other and expect nothing in return. Besides you’re also my first friend so I say were even.”
Chronos then whispered “Thank you Shining armor and goodnight.”
He then slowly places his head on his pillow and closes his eyes
Shining armor said, “Good night Chronos.”
He fell on his pillow and went into a deep sleep.
Chapter 2 the many doorways
Chapter 2
“The many doorways.”
One bright afternoon a few days after his sleepover with Shining armor he was waiting outside the barracks of the palace. He watched as Shining armor was grappling another white unicorn on the dirt ground. Then he looked up to se Chronos and smiles, then the coach came forward, he was a huge earth pony with a brown coat and a short crop of a black mane and a small scruffy tail with a red shield and a sword, he blows his whistle then the ponies got into formation.
The coach who was watching them then shouted, “Good work all of you especially you shining armor, trainees you’re dismissed.”
Then the ponies salute the coach he salutes back then as they dispersed and talked amongst themselves
Shining armor then said, “Alright I have to go see you all tomorrow.”
He then gallops over to Chronos he then said “Hey Chronos.”
Chronos smiled then said, “Hey Shining.”
Shining armor and Chronos started to trot off then Shining Armor said “So Chronos everything doing okay?”
Chronos nods then said, “Gold star backed off.”
Shining Armor then said, “That’s good. Any more luck on your ability?”
Chronos then said, “Yeah I have, I also found out more about yours.”
He then takes a book from his saddlebag.
Then he said, “Open up it’s yours.”
Shining armor then places it in Shining armor’s saddlebag
Then Chronos said, “That book is a history of spell shields and how to use them. I even highlighted the chapter on why they cause headaches and how to cure them. I can’t cast the spell yet but I’m sure any unicorn can if they practice it enough.”
Shining armor then said “Thank you.”
Chronos then said, “No problem. Anyways I was thinking what if Canterlot was attacked?”
Shining armor then said, “Well, we would fight back I guess?”
Chronos then said, “That’s it?”
Shining armor then said, “I honestly don’t know. I mean Canterlot hasn’t been attacked in over five hundred years.”
Chronos then said, “Well I think you should learn more about that spell shield it could be useful.”
Shining armor sighs then said, “I’ll try.”
Chronos then said, “I’m sorry did I say something wrong?”
Shining armor then said “No it’s just that… well I have a lot on my mind. I like trying to know more about my ability, but I think it will take more time than necessary.”
Chronos then said, “Well what if I helped you. I mean I can’t create a spell shield yet but I can sustain your shield with my magic and strengthen it.”
Shining armor then said, “That would be nice. You know I told you you didn’t have to pay me back.”
Chronos then said “it’s not I’m helping you. It’s what friends do right?”
Shining armor nods then said “Yeah your right.”
Chronos then said, “So, let’s try it out.”
Shining armor then said, “Okay where do you want to do it?”
Chronos saw they were nearing the front gates leading to the city then Chronos looked up at the palace and then said, “Let’s try to make a shield that covers the whole palace.”
Shining armor laughed then said, “I can’t make it that big yet.”
Chronos then said, “Come on just try. Even if you can’t make it that big we can keep on working on it until you do.”
Shining armor then said “alright.”
He then paused and then he breathed slowly then Chronos said “alright when you cast your spell I’ll do mine.”
Shining Armor then said, “Okay.”
He then squinted his eyes then his magic shield formed around him then Chronos squinted his eyes then his horn glowed and then he powered Shining armor’s shield and it grew around them and then the shield reached quite big surrounding a lot of the outer courtyard. Then the shield disappeared as Shining armor fell to the ground.
Then Chronos galloped to him then as he helped Shining armor get up he then said “Are you okay?”
Shining armor got up and then he laughed and then said, “I’m great, I didn’t think I can make it that big.”
Then Chronos separated from Shining Armor then Shining armor rubbed his horn then Chronos said, “Wait.”
His horn glowed and then Shining Armor’s eyes became green then Chronos’s stopped then said “How about now?”
Shining armor then said, “They’re gone, the headaches are gone.”
Chronos nods then said, “I’ve been researching the last few days and been practicing and memorized the spell.”
Shining armor then said, “Now I have to ask, why are you doing all this?”
Chronos then said,” Because like I said before your my friend. I think that together, we can keep Canterlot safe and if able all of Equestria.”
Shining Armor then said, “You should have joined the guard.”
Chronos then said, “No, I can’t fight. But I can learn more about magic and I want to do my part.”
Shining armor then said, “You want to be my partner? Fighting dragons, saving princesses”
Chronos then started to trot off as Shining armor followed.
Then Chronos said,” That would be nice, but what would be cooler is making sure the dragon never steals the princess in the first place.”
Shining Armor said, “You think we can do that?”
Chronos nods then said “Well why not?”
Shining armor hen said, “Do you like learning about magic?”
Chronos then said, “A little I mean I used to really enjoy learning new spells and I still do. But I think I’m coming to a point to where I feel like it’s only a step to my journey in finding my destiny.”
Shining armor then said, “So this is your house.”
Chronos nods then Shining Armor looks up at his house it was smaller than Shining armor’s then he opens the door with his magic then as they step in they saw the white carpet with a beautiful gold satin coach with a giant hearth. A picture with his mom a unicorn wearing a suit she has a gold coat with a long black mane and blue eyes. She had this sly smile and she was holding Chronos in her right hoof she wore a beautiful silver dress that flowed around her elegantly. His dad was a earth pony with a dark blue coat with a combed back silver mane and a long flowing tail that fell on the ground with a cutie mark of a silver balance scale and he wore a tuxedo, he held himself highly standing next to his wife with a wide happy smile.
Then Chronos then said, “My dad he’s a banker and he’s probably still at work and my mom is a realtor as she’s at an open house right now trying to sell a house.”
Shining Armor then said, “Does it get lonely with your parents being so busy?”
Chronos then “Sometimes but I don’t mind it.”
Then they go upstairs then they turn a right here a small room with a bed with a giant white blanket and a large bookshelf on the left side full of books. On his desk was an inkpot and four quills in it with a container full of scrolls.
Chronos then said “Welcome to my room.”
Shining armor nods then said, “It’s clean.”
Chronos then said, “I don’t like clutter.”
He then looked at his bookshelf then he said, “I read every book on this shelf.”
Shining armor then said, “Already?”
Chronos nods then said, “After I learned to read when I was five all I can do is read. Of course there are some books with big words that I don’t understand yet but I have a dictionary and I’m learning every day.”
Shining armor then said, “You make learning sound like fun.”
Chronos then said, “I know reading is not for every pony. I just like it.”
Shining armor then said, “Okay so what do you want to show me?”
Chronos then said, “I just learned today I can bring other ponies to the together world. I read it in this book right here.”
He then took a book off from the shelf.
Then he said “The thing is Shining I feel like I have to go again into this other world. I can feel it.”
Shining armor then said “Are you sure you can get us back?”
Chronos nods then said, “It will be only for a few minutes we go there and come back that’s all.”
Shining armor nods then said, “Alright.”
He then trots forward then Chronos closes his eyes then the world became black.
Shining armor opens his eyes but he see’s everything was now a greyish blur with Chronos’ room. A puff of light flew by shining armor jumped back.
Then Chronos said “Hey don’t go too far.”
Then Shining armor saw their bodies both were on the floor with their white eyes opened then
Shining Armor gasped and said, “This is crazy.”
Chronos nods then he said, “Look out there at the palace.”
Shining armor turns to the right side of the room where Chronos’s bed is and a little window was peering outward was the palace but it was vacant and was white in the palace was one hundred doors with locks on them.
Shining armor then said, “What’s with the palace?”
They look down and saw shadow creatures some were big with spikes and claws but they just stood by the unicorns that past them.
Then Chronos said, “I told you there’s monsters but so far they seem harmless.”
Shining Armor nods then said, “Alright let’s go back.”
Chronos then said “Okay.”
They then went back to their bodies then Chronos said, “Hold my hoof.”
Shining armor does then they entered their bodies.
Shining Armor felt a cold chill go through his body he shivered than Chronos rubbed his body. Then Shining Armor said, “I can’t believe that. What about the palace why does it have all those strange doors?”
Chronos shrugged then said, “I feel like I have to open them somehow.”
Shining armor then said, “Does that book say anything else?”
Chronos shakes his head “It’s all theory and speculation. I only asked you to come so you can understand what I’m trying to do.”
Shining armor nods then said “Alright.”
Then they heard the door open then Chronos said, “I bet that’s my dad.”
He then trotted down the stairs. Chronos’s dad was closing the door came in with his business suit. He sighs as he collapses on the coach he smiles as he sees his son trot up to him.
He then said “Chronos how are you doing?”
Chronos then said “Hey dad, I’m doing fine.”
Then he hugs him then he said, “Hey dad this is my new best friend Shining armor.”
Shining armor then bows then said, “It’s nice to see you.”
Then Chronos’s dad got up bows then said, “It’s a pleasure to meet you I’m Silver Dollar.”
Shining Armor nods then Chronos said, “Uh dad is mom still at the party.”
His dad then goes back on the coach nods then said “Yeah she is. She wants me to join her, I got a go but I want to sit here for a second.”
Chronos then said, “You heard about me getting a hundred on my test.”
His dad then said, “I heard I’m proud of you. Come here.”
Chronos gallops to him then he hugs him.
Then as silver dollar kisses Chronos on the forehead then he gets up and said “Come on I’ll make you some dinner.” He then said “Shining armor want to join us?”
Shining armor then said, “I got a go.”
Chronos then said “Okay.”
Chronos then sticks out his right hoof then Shining armor sticks out his then they shake then Shining armor went out the door. As it closes Chronos followed his dad to the kitchen. Here they came to a nice long table with white tail underneath. His dad went to a cupboard and pulled out a small white bowl and then he opened the fridge and took out some bread, lettuce and cheese. He then made a sandwich then placed it where Chronos was sitting.
Then his dad said, “It’s great that you’re finally making friends.”
Chronos nods then said, “Shining armor is great.”
His dad then said, “You know what, I’m more then proud of you. It’s been rough and you kept your grades up and you’ve been doing a great job.”
Chronos then said, “Dad thank you.”
He then came over kissed Chronos on the head then said “Alright I got a go.”
He then trotted up the stairs then Chronos continued to eat his sandwich.
Chapter 3
“A meeting.”
A few months pass and Chronos was sitting in class it was a large classroom with a wooden floor and desks neatly arranged in rows, young unicorns sat in their desks listening to a female unicorn with a white coat and a dark green mane and green eyes with a cutie mark of a book with green star on it. Chronos was listening to the teacher and writing down notes
She replied, “Alright who can tell me what we call a spell that changes an object or an organic being called?”
Some ponies stared blankly at her Chronos rolled his eyes and shot his right hoof in the air. The teacher smiled and said, “Yes Chronos.”
Chronos then said, “It’s called a transformation spell. When you change an object from one thing got another like an apple to an orange you change its properties and its function but depending on how large the object is and how complicated it is. It will be up to the experience and the ability of the unicorn on how much power they need to use this spell.”
She replied, “Very good Chronos you can sit down.”
She does then she said, “Yes Chronos is right. Transformation is just turning one object to another. However, changing objects is difficult and should only be done with the proper training. Remember, no matter how powerful you are, if you do it wrong it can be disastrous. Now were out of time today but tomorrow we will practice. For homework today and you are going to go over pages one through five and you’re going to read the passage thoroughly and answer the questions.”
Her horn glowed then each student was given a piece of paper most of the students groaned.
She then replied, “Now don’t give me that. It’s due by tomorrow, if you don’t do it you’re not going to practice the spell tomorrow got it.”
The ponies then replied “Yes miss Evergreen.”
She then said, “Alright class your dismissed.”
The ponies all got up then started to walk out of the room and down the hall in the palace. Chronos stayed behind then he trotted up to miss Evergreen.
He then asked, “miss Evergreen can I ask a question?”
she smiled then said “Of course Chronos.”
Chronos then replied “Well I want to speak to princess Celestia about something…”
miss evergreen then said, “Chronos princess Celestia is busy if it has something to do with school you can ask me.”
Chronos sighed then he looks around then he said, “Well it has to do with something I’ve learned about myself. It’s a special ability.”
Miss Evergreen laughed, “Is this some kind of role playing game?”
Chronos shaked his head, “Let me show you, then I need you to get me an audience with princess
Celestia. Please it’s really important.”
Miss Evergreen then got concerned and said “Okay Chronos you can show me.”
Chronos then said” it’s a bit scary so please don’t freak out.”
She nods then he sighs then kneels down on the ground then his eyes went white and then miss Evergreen stepped back then a voice said “Don’t freak out. This is why I need to speak to her.”
Miss Evergreen nods then she puts a hoof to her mouth as he renters his body. He shivers
Then miss evergreen said, “Don’t worry I’m going to tell princess Celestia right away.”
Chronos then replied “Can you keep it a secret though. I don’t want the rest of the class to know”
She then replied “Trust me this is going to stay a secret.”
Chronos nods then she said, “Do your parents know?”
Chronos shakes his head then she said “Alright when I tell princess Celestia I’ll give you the time to meet her and where.”
Chronos nods his head then said, “Thank you.”
She then said, “Chronos you shouldn’t do that anymore. Not until we know more about it can you promise me that?”
He sighs then nods and said “Yeah.”
He then he trots out of the classroom.
That night Chronos was doing his homework. He had his textbook open and his homework he was writing the answers down. Then his mother entered the room with her long smooth black mane her deep blue eyes and her golden coat with a cutie mark a house on a scroll.
She smiles a small smile then Chronos looks over and smiles then said “Mom!”
He gallops into her hooves she hugs him and then said “Hey sweetie.”
She kisses him on the forehead then said, “I’m sorry for not being here for the last few days I’ve been so busy.”
Chronos then said, “Its okay.”
She then said “Hey guess what?”
He then said “What?”
She then said; “I sold my fifth house today!”
Chronos then said, “Congratulations mom!”
She then said, “Hey for celebration I brought home some cake.”
Chronos then said “What kind.”
She then said “chocolate your favorite. Because I know how much you studied for that test last week and got another hundred we both deserve to let go for a night.”
Chronos giggled, “I’ll be down I want to finish my homework first.”
She kissed his forehead then said, “Don’t be too long.”
She then trotted out of the room then Chronos continued to do his homework.
Silver dollar saw his wife coming downstairs then he said “Golden Sweet, your already home.” She then kissed him then said, “I sold the house.”
He nods then said, “We need to talk. “
She nods then she comes around the corner into the kitchen.
She said, “what is it?”
Silver Dollar then said “I found this in the mail.”
He then opened a letter that said “Dear silver dollar and Golden Sweet your son Chronos is my top student and is doing great but he will not go to school tomorrow. Have him stay home with you two I am going to give him special instruction and it’s vital you two are with him. Please don’t be alarmed he is not in trouble I’m just giving him some special training. sincerely princess Celestia.”
Gold sweet then had tears coming down her face then she said “Our son is going to get special training from princess Celestia herself.”
Silver Dollar then said “This is amazing more then what we ever thought possible...” Chronos came down stairs then Golden Sweet came forward and then she said, “Hey Chronos you ready for some cake.”
He then said, “Yeah and can we have some hot chocolate? It’s kind of cold.”
She nods then they head into the kitchen.
Golden sweet placed a pot on the stove then she opened then fridge and then poured the milk into the pot as Silver Dollar placed the pieces of cake along the table.
Chronos said Thank you dad.”
He nods then sits across from Chronos then he said “So Chronos how was school?”
Chronos then said “It was fine I mean were going to learn transformation spells tomorrow. I already practiced so I’ll be ready.”
Golden sweet then said “That’s my colt already ahead.”
Silver Dollar then ate some cake with Chronos then Golden sweet put down some cups of hot chocolate in front of her husband and son.
She sat down next to silver dollar then said “Chronos we want to tell you something.”
Silver Dollar then said, “Chronos we were given a letter by princess Celestia.”
Chronos then said “When?”
Golden sweet then said “Just a few hours ago. It was in our mailbox we just want to say how proud we are with you.”
Chronos looked up then said “Mom, Dad, I want you to know how happy I am. I wouldn’t have gotten his far without you two. Even when I had a bad day at school, before I met Shining Armor. I would come home, I would be happy just to see either of you, and you would be there for me. I couldn’t ask for better parents.”
His mom cried a bit then Silver dollar nods then said, “So how’s the cake?”
Chronos then said, “It’s Delicious.”
He then drank some more hot chocolate
His mom replied, “So are you going to tell us what did you do to get an audience with princess Celestia?”
Chronos then said, “I have a secret mom and dad. I never showed it to you because I don’t even know what it is, but I don’t want either of you two to freak out.”
He then gets off from the table then he kneels on the floor then his parents stare at each other than
Chronos’s eyes went white then his parents gasped.
Then a voice said “This is why princess Celestia wants to talk to me.” Then he goes back into his body.
He shivers then he gets up then his mother said, “How long did you know you can do that?”
Chronos then said “For half a year now.”
His father then said, “Chronos are you okay I mean does it hurt?”
Chronos then said “No, but my teacher told me not to do it. So did Shining armor but I know that neither of you would believe me if I didn’t at least show you.”
His mother then said “your nightmares.”
Then Chronos nods then said, “That was the first time I did it.”
Silver dollar then said, “Alright well princess Celestia will tell us what this is?”
Chronos nods then he climbs up to the table and continued to eat his cake then after he talked more to his parents and finished his cake.
After he said good night to his dad, his mom lead him back to the bed then as she tucked him in he then said “hey mom, what should I do when princess Celestia comes?”
She then said, “Just remember your manners sweetie you bow when she comes and give her your upmost respect.”
He nods then she kissed his forehead then said, “You’ll do fine. But you have to promise me for real this time.
Please don’t use that ability not until princess Celestia tells you. I don’t want you getting hurt.”
He nods then said, “I think princess Celestia will know what it is.”
She then said, “Alright get some sleep you got to get up early tomorrow.”
He nods then said, “So I should wear that nice suit the one you got me for heartwarming eve?”
She nods then he groans she then said, “I know you don’t like it. But it’s your best suit.”
He then said “Okay.”
She then said “”Good night my sweet colt.”
She turns off the light then he gets deep into the covers then said “Good night mom.’”
She then left the room and Chronos fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning came and Chronos was ready with his parents. Silver Dollar wore his tuxedo and Golden Sweet wore a puffy gold dress. Her mane fell elegantly over both shoulders and she wore very light makeup to cover her blemishes. Silver Dollar had his mane combed back as well and his tail was combed and it fell perfectly to the floor. Chronos wore a stuffy business suit sized for a filly, It itched all over and his silver and black mane was combed perfectly around his ears. His mom was fussing over him tying his tie.
Then Silver dollar said “Honey it doesn’t have to be perfect.”
Golden sweet then said, “Princess Celestia is coming and I’m going to make sure my son looks presentable.”
She then stepped back then said, “His tail needs to be trimmed. I wished we had more time.”
Chronos then said “Uh mom.”
Silver Dollar then said, “He’s fine honey.”
Then there was a knock at the door. Then Golden Sweet looked around the house then she gulps then Silver Dollar said, “I’ll get the door you two stand in front.”
Golden Sweet took Chronos by the hoof and then as they came to the door.
Silver Dollar opens it then princess Celestia comes in.
Golden Sweet bows as does Chronos princess Celestia then said “Thank you for allowing me in your home Mrs. Golden Sweet.”
She then rises as does Chronos then she said “It’s an honor having you here princess Celestia.”
Princess Celestia stepped inside she then turned to her two guards and said “Stay outside.”
They both nod then Silver dollar closes the door.
Golden sweet replied, “Do you need any refreshment?”
Princess Celestia then said “No thank you I’m fine.”
She then starred at Chronos then smiled then said, “Hello Chronos”
He then said “Hello princess Celestia.”
She smiled as he looks at the picture above the hearth then she turns her head to Mrs. Golden Sweet then said, “Mrs. Golden Sweet is it okay if we go into the dining room?”
Mrs. Golden sweet bows her head then she said “Yes I will.” Then they enter the dining room.
Then Silver Dollar and Golden Sweet sit on either side of Chronos while Princess Celestia sat across from them.
She said “Chronos what I’m going to tell you is important, what you can do no pony recorded in history has done. But only from what I’ve heard, you can enter what is known as the corridors of magic. In these corridors there are doors you saw them correct?”
Chronos nods then she said, “In this world the corridors connect and flow between us from the source whatever that is even I don’t know where the source is or what it is. But what I can tell you that those doors are doors to other worlds locked away by this land. It seems the palace is built over amass of corridors ones that connect to other worlds and other dimensions. Chronos, you can enter these doors see what lies beyond, but only through your spirit, and yes it’s dangerous you saw those monsters.”
Chronos nods again then princess Celestia said, “Those monsters are guardians if a foreign entity entered this world one who tried to disrupt the flow they will attack. So to you they see you as normal but in any of those doors they’ll see you as a threat.”
Chronos replied “So why can I only go there. Why me?”
Princess Celestia then said “I don’t know, but…Chronos I’m not going to lie to you, I believe you need to go in those doors.”
Chronos then said “Why?”
Princess Celestia then said “Remember what I say here can’t be spoken outside these walls no other pony can know.”
Chronos nods then she sighed and then said, “My son and his daughter are missing.” Chronos then said, “You mean Prince Sun Dancer we were all told he went east.”
She replied, “He did, my son and his daughter were destroying other labs set by an evil unicorn named Abyss. But they went missing ten years ago.”
But Mrs. Golden Sweet then said, “I’m so sorry.”
Princess Celestia then said, “Chronos this has to be your choice. The first choice is you never use your ability again and keep on going with your life or two you come live in the palace with me and we together travel these corridors of magic to find my family. Because this is selfish of me, so I can’t force you to do this.”
Every pony was silent then Chronos gulped then said “I need to ask, if I do enter these corridors will where I go what will happen if those monsters attack me?”
Princess Celestia starred down at the floor then she said, “You could die.”
Then Chronos looked up and then said, “Can I have practice? you know get used to it under your supervision and work at it slowly.”
Princess Celestia then said, “It’s what I have in mind.”
Then Chronos said “Mom, Dad this is my decision this is what I was born to do.”
Mrs. Golden Sweet who was distraught asked, “Will we be able to see our son?”
Princess Celestia then said, “Yes of course you will. You can see him every day, but you have to understand if he decides to keep using this ability it has to be under my supervision to make sure he is safe.”
Silver Dollar then said, “Chronos if you do this you know you can die.”
Chronos replied, “I know, but I’ve been wondering what to do with my life for a while. I need to do this.”
Princess Celestia continued, “Chronos if you do this you need to know something else. Since I’m going to teach you what to do under my wing. You’re going to be expelled from my school.”
Mrs. Golden Sweet shouted, “What!”
Princess Celestia raised a hoof and replied, “What I mean is it won’t be fair to any other unicorn. I can’t teach over five hundred unicorns who are in my school and if I’m giving Chronos magic lessons one that are far beyond his peers, it won’t be fair to the rest of the students. This is something I would never do unless I have good reason for it. This time I do, I’ve been at war with Abyss since I became princess of this kingdom and he’s been good at covering his trail. He’s created labs where he was making armies of Alicorn. He’s been using ponies as test subjects, My son and his daughter were able to destroy most of them but they found out that some of these labs weren’t just in our world. There are labs in other worlds and that’s when I lost contact with my family.”
Chronos then replied, “So I’m the only pony who can track them down find out which corridor they used. But how?”
Princess Celestia replied, “I’ll teach you, but are you sure Chronos knowing you will be expelled?”
Chronos nods and said, “Magic really wasn’t my forte I know I have to do this.” Mrs. Golden sweet then said, “My son will still get recognition for what he’s doing.”
Princess Celestia then said, “No, what he’s going to do is top secret and I can’t allow any pony to know. But he will be given a special title one that I haven’t used in hundreds of years.”
She smiled and said, “He’ll be known as a “protector of the royalty” he will have all his meals and room payed for he will be given special privileges and be given the authority, when he’s older, to organize the royal guard. He won’t be recognized for saving my son, but he will be respected and loved by all.”
Chronos then said, “princess Celestia that’s all I’ve ever wanted. My whole life all I wanted to do was to find a way to keep you and every pony safe. This may be my only chance.”
Mrs. Golden Sweet looked down on the floor Silver Dollar then said, “How can you put all this on my son!”
They all starred at him he looked up then said “ He’s only eight years old and you’re telling him to go risk his life in some war we barley know anything about!?”
Princess Celestia then said, “I know… I know this is hard and he won’t do anything dangerous not until I know he’s ready.”
Chronos then hugged his dad then Chronos said, “Dad I’m not going to die.”
His dad swore then he hugged him back.
Chronos got up then he rubbed the tears from his eyes then he hugged his mom who bent low and kissed him on the forehead.
Chronos got up then said “Princess Celestia is it okay if you give me some time?”
Princess Celestia bowed her head then said “Of course. Take as much time as you need.” She then got up, then without a word she left the kitchen.
After a few minutes after the door shut, his mom got up in tears and then she left the kitchen then Silver Dollar stares at his son then said “You don’t have to do this.”
Chronos then said, “Dad you told me a few years ago when I asked how to get my cutie mark to follow my passion. Dad this is it, whatever this ability to enter other dimensions to find princess Celetsia’s son, this is a part of it. Dad I’m not doing this because I have to I’m doing this because I want to.”
Silver Dollar then held his son close then said “I’m going to go talk to your mother. We’ll talk more later.”
He gets up and then he trot up the stairs then Chronos sighs then he bows his head on the dinner table.
Chapter 4
“The first door.”
Chronos was in the tower of the palace the place has a wood floor and stonewalls in the middle was a circle drawn with and of Canterlot. It has been a year after Chronos’s move to the castle. He then sets up in the west tower of the palace. Here a white circle was drawn and princess Celestia was holding her power with her horn then Chronos reappeared in the circle then said, “How was that?”
Princess Celestia smiles then said, “That was excellent. You can stay in the corridors of magic for a lot longer than I expected.”
Chronos then said “Thank you.”
Princess Celestia replied, “Alright I think you’re ready for the first door.”
Chronos breathed slowly and said, “Alright, did shining armor get the message?”
She nods then shining armor enters the tower.
Chronos then said “princess Celestia.”
He bows then she said “Rise Shining armor,”
He does then he shouted “Hey Chronos!”
Shining Armor rushed him and hugs him.
Chronos replied, “Shining!”
Chronos then hugs him then Shining Armor breaks off then said “So princess Celestia I think we are ready.”
Shining armor replied, “Were more than ready.”
Princess Celestia then said, “Alright you two this isn’t a joke I need you both to concentrate. The door that I marked with the sun symbol is the one you enter only enter that one once your there if you find my son and his daughter then you can extract them. But if you are overwhelmed by the monsters then you need to leave.”
Chronos nods and replied,“Alright Princess Celestia you have my word.”
She nods then said, “Alright, you can enter the world.”
Chronos then goes to the center circle with Shining Armor.
Chronos replied, “Shining are you ready?”
He nods then he teleports both himself and shining armor into the other world.
The two were now in the tower but everything was a greyish hue as before.
Shining armor then said “Wow this place is still creeps me out no matter how many times you’ve entered.”
Chronos then said “At least I learned how to teleport our full bodies.”
Shining armor then said “Yeah you did which to me still surprises me. Then Chronos went over to the door that princess Celestia marked."
He then said, “She said she senses Sun Dancer presence in this door.”
Shining armor then said, “What will happen when we enter this door?”
Chronos then said, “I don’t know.” Then he opens the door with his magic and then the two steps inside.
Chronos opens his eyes then he saw the world was bright and then he saw that it was dead. The palace was gone and what is left was a barren wasteland with rubble and ash. Then He saw a giant collapsing domed building with dead shadow Alicorns laid all over the dirt.
Chronos replied, “This was one of the labs Sun Dancer and Astra destroyed.”
Shining Armor nods then replied, “What happened in this dimension?”
Then they looked into the sky and saw nothing no sun or stars just a dark blank sky. Then they turn to a giant obelisk sticking out of the ground on the left of them.
Chronos galloped to it then said, “This obelisk can tell us something about this dimension.”
He then saw a shadow and then it said, “this is dimension one abyss reports on findings and records them. This world was a world run by Chaos. If Necro defeated North Star and summoned Chaos this would be the result. Princess Celestia and Luna would have been killed and then his power hunger would have consumed the world until everything including himself died. This world is perfect for tests subjects. I can use the lost souls as potential power energy.”
The Shadow disappeared then Chronos said, “Who’s Chaos?”
Shining Armor shrugs then Chronos said, “So this is his first lab.”
Chronos said, “Let’s go there’s nothing here.” Then he and Shining Armor went back through the door.
Chronos appears before Princess Celestia with Shining armor.
He said, “We found a destroyed lab and a bunch of dead shadow Alicorn and nothing more.”
Shining armor then said, “Abyss left something saying something about chaos.”
Princess Celestia then said “chaos the monster that killed my mother.”
Chronos replied, “Well that world is dead and it’s also a dead end.”
Shining Armor nods then said, “I’m sorry Princess Celestia I wish we could have been of more help.”
She smiled then said, “It is okay you two we just have to keep working.”
Chronos then started to get drowsy.
Then Princess Celestia said, “Chronos go get some sleep that must have taken a lot out of you.” Chronos nods then he trots off,
Chronos went to his new room in the palace it was Sun Dancer’s room with his giant bed and his blue carpet and his side mirror and his desk.
Chronos climbed onto the bed and into the covers, he then yawns then Shining Armor enters the room.
Chronos smiled, “Hey Shining Armor.”
Shining Armor replied, “Hey I just wanted to ask, do you want to come over to my house tomorrow?”
Chronos nods and said, “After my training with princess Celestia I’ll ask.”
Shining Armor nods “Ok and Chronos good job.”
Chronos replied “Thank you for coming with me.”
Shining Armor then said “No problem.” Then Chronos drifted to sleep…
Chronos woke up and then he saw a shadow it then said “Chronos, my dear Chronos how much you’ve grown.”
Chronos then said, “Who are you?”
The shadow then said, “I was once called Nova then I changed that name to Abyss. This is my new form a shadow looking for a new host.”
Chronos shouted, “Where’s Sun dancer and Astra!”
The ghost chuckled then said, “Why would I tell you? You have no right to talk to me like that. Tell me Chronos why did you enter the corridors of magic? Is this to save a few Alicorns? Or is it because you want to test your power?”
Chronos then said, “I don’t want power I just want to protect those I love.”
His horn glowed then said “You should leave,”
Abyss then said, “You are me Chronos. You have the same ambition and power you want to save others yet you cling to princess Celestia she can’t teach you anymore since yes your ability to use magic in essence is small. You can become so much more and protect those you love at the same time.”
Chronos replied, “You’re saying, if I join you, my family won’t not be harmed?”
Abyss nods and said, “I swear on it.”
Chronos’s eyes flared white then shouted, “No all you say are lies! Princess Celestia told me all about you how you used her sister! how you destroyed an entire village! How you betrayed her mother! You’re a monster who deserves to burn!”
Chronos then shot a a energy blast at Abyss.
Chronos shouted, “Leave now!”
Abyss said “we will met again next time I won’t be so light on you but let me show you a few dimensions. The deal is if you decide to forsake my power and my knowledge, I will give you the location where Prince Sun Dancer and princess Astra are. But after you are shown these dimensions and you forsake princess Celestia instead then I will make sure your family and Shining armor and his family are sparred when my true master takes over.”
Chronos paused and said “Alright.”
Then Chronos opens his eyes he sees his parents in a room his dad and mom were older and both were across the kitchen table
His mom then said, “You heard about the other day what twilight sparkle did. She saved Shining Armor and his wife from an army of changelings.”
His dad replied “she’s the daughter we should have had. Instead we get a traitor of a son.”
His mom then said “I can’t believe I used to love him. Look at Twilight she was top of her class she made friends and she’s saving Canterlot and Equestria and where’s our son?”
His dad replied “Let’s forget about him. He didn’t even show up for Shining Armor’s wedding. I doubt he’s coming back at all its best we forget about him.”
The clouds fade away then Abyss said that is not all.
Chronos saw another image of Shining Armor with princess cadence in the bedroom in the crystal palace.
Shining armor said, “Tell me did he leave anything a note? A reason?”
Princess Cadence with tears in her eyes said “no there isn’t she’s dead shining and we need to accept that fact.”
Shining armor swore “I can’t I won’t she’s not dead. She is not dead.”
He fell on the ground
Princess Cadence said “This is Chronos you know this is him. He is the one whom did this he did this
because he was angry with you. You need to have your sister go find him.”
Shining Armor then said, “I’ll find him alright. He’s going to answer for our daughter’s death I swear to that.”
Chronos then said, “His daughter?”
Abyss replied, “These possibilities may or may not happen I’m just showing you how the world will remember you because of Princess Celestia.”
Then he saw the last image then he said “This is you,”
He sees a large Alicorn with a blue coat a combed silver and black mane and he has a cutie mark with a circle and a dark line through it.
Abyss then said, “You win. If you join me, I will make sure Shining Armor’s daughter never dies and you will be given the recognition you deserve. I swear to you that you will be given everything you ever dreamed of and on top of that power of an Alicorn. Princess Celestia ways will only lead you to death and ruin.”
Chornos then said, “I don’t believe it.”
The shadow then said, “The facts are clear. Princess Celestia is using you don’t you understand your just a tool to her. To me you’ll be a god.”
Chronos shouted, “Tell me, I would never harm a pony or Alicorn much less my best friend’s daughter. Tell me, if you were the one in that future to do such a horrible act, then why would I even consider following you? Leave now!”
Then the shadow disappeared then Chronos looked up into the shadow then his cutie mark appeared it was a gold infinity symbol.

Chronos’s Decision
A year and a half later
Chronos was in the west tower again he was kneeling on the floor as the door slams open.
Shining Armor shouted “Hey Chronos!”
Chronos wakes replied, “Shining Armor you broke my concentration.”
Shining armor said, “I’m sorry but I wanted to know if you would come to Twilight’s birthday party?”
Chronos then sighed, “I’m sorry I completely forgot.”
Shining armor replied, “Yeah you seem too do that a lot.”
Chronos turned his head then said, “I’m sorry alright.”
Shining Armor said, “Chronos...”
Chronos replied, “Its fine, anyways I got her a birthday present.”
Shining armor replied, “Alright where is it?”
Chronos then got up and said, “It’s in my room.”
He then galloped out of the room with Shining room then they came to Sun Dancer’s room then he uses his magic to pick up a rectangle package wrapped in purple wrapping paper
Shining armor said, “Did you go into another door without me?”
Chronos shakes his head then said “Of course not.”
Shining armor then said, “You know I worry.”
Chronos replied “Shining, do you think I would hurt another pony?”
Shining armor shakes his head then sighed, “No of course not, why would you say that?”
Chronos then said “You know when I got my cutie mark I told princess Celestial how I got it. But I couldn’t tell you.”
Shining armor then said, “I know it was a secret.”
Chronos then said “Well... I was visited by Abyss.”
Shining Armor then said, “You actually saw him?”
Chronos replied, “Only what’s left of him, he was just a spirit.”
Shining Armor replied, “So what happened?”
Chronos started to cry.
Then Shining armor then said, “Chronos I’m sorry? It’s okay you don’t have to tell me.”
Chronos then wiped away the tears then said, “He told me that I would become like him. I don’t… I don’t want to, and I told him to go away. Then that’s when my cutie mark appeared.”
Shining armor then said, “Hey come on I know you. You saved my life more times than I can count.”
Chronos nods then hugs Shining armor again.
Shining Armor replied, “Come on let’s get out of here.”
Chronos nods then picks up his present for twilight then trotted out of the room with Shining armor.
Chronos was with Shining armor and Twilight Velvet and Night Light with Silver Dollar and Golden Sweet. The adults were talking as Chronos and Shining armor were with Twilight in the living room.
Twilight was opening Shining armor’s present then said “Another Daring Do book! Thanks Big brother!”
She magically put it in a pile with the other books her parents got her.
She then said “Chronos did you get me something?”
Chronos then said “Yeah I did.”
He took out the giant package.
Chronos placed it in front of Twilight. She giggled then she opened it then said, “Wow the magic of the new age. A list of spells by Master Grey Beard”
Chronos then said, “That’s a special spell book. I know you’re going to try out for Celestia’s school of magic this year so I got you something you can learn on the side.”
Twilight then said “Thank you Chronos.”
She hugged Shining Armor then she hugged Chronos.
She then looked at her parents
Twilight Velvet replied “Alright Twilight let’s have some cake.”
Chronos got up with Shining armor
Shining armor then said, “How much bits was that book?”
Chronos then said, “Don’t worry about it.”
Shining armor then sighs then they enter the kitchen with a giant purple cake was full of icing and six candles.
Then Twilight got on the chair then after they sang happy birthday she blew out the candles the ponies clapped then.
Then Twilight Velvet cut the cake and then served it to a piece to her daughter then to each pony.
As they sat down and ate their cake,
Twilight Velvet said, “So Chronos how goes the special training?”
Chronos then said, “its fine, Shining Armor and I made a lot of progress I honestly wouldn’t have done this without him.”
Shining Armor chuckled then said, “Well other than that, you all should know that I’m the top of my class at the military academy. Soon in four more years I’ll officially be part of the royal guard then from there I’ll climb the ranks to captain.”
Night Light said “Alright Shining Armor.”
Twilight then said, “My big brother is going to do it, I know it.”
Then Chronos said, “So you ready for the test?”
Twilight blushed and then said “I don’t know?”
Golden sweet then said, “Chronos I tell her how you passed maybe it will help her.”
Chronos then said, “I just had confidence I mean I barley past my test was to make a small tree grow and it took all my energy to grow an inch. The test really isn’t about how good you are it’s just to see if you have enough raw talent to pass."
Twilight looked up then said, “You think I can pass?”
Chronos then said, “I bet you can. With all that reading you can probably do better than me.”
Then she laughed and said “I hope.”
Shining Armor then said “you’ll do fine little sis.”
Chronos replied, “What about the daring do books I’m actually far behind…
Night Light came and Chronos’s parents were talking with Shining armor’s parents then Golden sweet said, “Chronos come here.”
Chronos trots with his parents outside of Shining Armor’s house.
Silver Dollar then said, “I know I’ve said this every time you come by. But are you doing okay?”
Chronos then said, “I’m fine dad. In fact I’m doing better than I was while in school.”
His mother then said, “I’m still angry it’s not fair...”
Chronos then said “Mom! Not out here.”
She then said, “Sorry I know it’s supposed to be confidential.”
He nods her then hugs him then said, “You’re growing up too fast.”
He chuckles then said, “I’m still only a filly mom.”
She kisses him on the forehead then said, “You’re so much more than that.”
Then his father came up to him and hugged him then said, “You keep up the good work. Alright?”
he hugs his dad back then cries a bit.”
Then his father said, “What’s wrong?”
Chronos then said, “Nothing, I’m just happy.”
Then his mom said “Goodnight my beautiful colt.”
She then trotted off with her husband she fell into him. Then Chronos goes back into Shining Armor’s house. Chronos was on the ground in his sleeping bag. He then breaths slowly and then he enters the corridors of magic. He then enters Twilight’s room and sees her asleep. Then he turns to see himself an older version of himself. This Chronos’s mane was now pure silver and his eyes were silver as well, with a cutie mark of a circle with a line going through it.
Than the evil Chronos shouted “What the hell is this? Abyss assured me that this place would be vacant.”
Chronos then said, “Why did you become evil?”
Then this Chronos chuckled, “You don’t need to know that?”
Chronos replied, “Yes I do! I need to make sure I don’t turn into you.”
Then the older Chronos replied, “It doesn’t matter what we do evil or good I swore to destroy her.”
Chronos cried “I don’t care! I won’t let you kill her!”
Then the older version shouted, “What difference it will make! She’s just one unicorn!”
Chronos replied, “It does matter! All life is precious and has to be kept safe and saved from those like you.”
Chronos then said, “You mess with things you barley understand you don’t even know that by saving this life you could be killing hundreds later on your so naïve.”
Chronos then shouted, “Leave now. This is your final warning.”
The evil Chronos replied, “You would fight me to save her wouldn’t you?”
The young Chronos replied, “I’m not you, I know who I am. I love my mother, I love my father, I love Shining Armor, I love his little sister and their parents and I love princess Celestia. I’ve been tracking you following your movements for months and I knew you would make this move ready yourself when I become older. The thing is I will always be here making sure you never touch her.”
Then the evil Chronos replied, “Meet me in the door marked with the symbol of a circle with a line going through it. There I will meet you and we will settle our dispute there. I’ll give you time you’re going to need it, but prince sun dancer and princess Astra may not have that luxury.”
The evil Chronos’s horn glowed and he was gone…
Chronos returned to his body he then gasped and fell into his sleeping bag then Shining Armor came over then he said, “You told me you wouldn’t go without me.”
Chronos then said, “I lied."
Shining Armor shouted “Why! “
Chronos replied, “Because I was fighting myself. There is another version of me working for Abyss the last few months I’ve been tracking him. I finally cornered him. He was going to kill your sister.”
Shining Armor then said “The more reason you should have brought me! You can’t do this by yourself.”
Chronos replied, “I know... I am sorry I just didn’t. I just don’t want you to think I’m... I’m…”
Shining Armor sighed, “You don’t want me to see your evil self.”
Chronos then in a whiny tone said, “I’m sorry.”
He falls on the ground and starts to cry.
Shining Armor replied, “Chronos He’s not you. You know that.”
Chronos then said, “I know.”
Shining Armor shouted “Then get up and stop crying because if he’s trying to kill my sister I’m not going to have you fail her!”
Chronos looked up then Shining armor came forward then said “Were going to defeat him together.”
Chronos smiled then he got up and said “Yeah your right.”
He hugs Shining Armor then Shining Armor hugs him back then he said, “Thank you for getting my sister that spell book. It was a better than my present.”
Chronos then said, “Don’t sell yourself short. Your present was just as good.”
Shining Armor replied, “So you know where Prince Sun dancer and his daughter located?”
Chronos nods and said, “He told me, but I know it’s a trap he wouldn’t have told us the location without having a reason.”
Shining Armor then replied, “We’ll discuss it with princess Celestia and have her help us. This time you’re not going to do this alone you got it.”
Chronos nods, “Alright let’s tell her in the morning.”
Shining armor went into his bed then Chronos fell into his sleeping bag.
Shining armor then replied “Thank you Chronos for saving my sister.”
Chronos then said “No problem Shining Armor.”

A few months later….
Chronos was sitting in Sun Dancer’s room he was looking on the ground Princess Celestia came in then said “Hey Chronos.”
Chronos jumped to all fours then bowed then said “Good Morning princess Celestia.”
She then said, “You missed me raising the sun this morning.”
Chronos then said, “I slept in.”
She then said, “Hey are you doing okay? I know I’ve been pushing you, I need to know if you can do this without cracking under the pressure.”
Chronos looked up and replied “I’m ready. You know, it’s different between Shining and me. He thinks there is an out once we find your family. However, I know the truth this doesn’t end with me finding your son and granddaughter. I’m going to be bound to the other world for the rest of my life.”
Princess Celestia then said, “Chronos I was planning to have this conversation for a while. Not all cutie marks are given to us by choice like me, you were chosen for this destiny by my mother.”
Chronos then said, “Why?”
She then said, “Because some of us have hard paths with hard choices. You may not like it but in the end the effort you put does pay off in the end.”
Chronos then said, “Tell me how you deal with a difficult decision?”
Princess Celestia replied, “I know making a difficult choice is hard. However, you have too also realize that even if you’re not known for having to make that choice. The only pony who needs to know that you made the right decision is yourself.”
Chronos said, “Does that mean I will have to die?”
Princess Celestia then said, “I don’t know yet.”
Chronos got up and said “Alright then, Shining armor is here right?”
Princess Celestia nods and said, “He’s ready.”
Chronos then said, “I’m ready to do this.”
Chronos then came up to the west tower where the white circle was drawn. As the two enter Shining armor bows.
Princess Celestia said “Rise shining armor were ready.”
He nods then he smiled to Chronos then Chronos gave him small smile then he trots right next to him.
Princess Celestia said, “Alright before we go let’s go over the plan just to make sure you two stay safe.”
Chronos then said, “I open the door. I’m the only one who can.”
Shining armor replied, “I put up a shield immediately watch for shadow monsters or other traps.”
Chronos said “Then you princess Celestia will do the fighting we just stay behind and make sure nothing gets through the door.”
She nods then said, “I know you two have experience but I will not endanger your lives. If anything, I will die for any of you”
They both nod then Chronos sighs then said, “Alright let’s do this.”
They then enter the corridors. Then he enters they trot to the white center with the floating doors then the three circle the rotating doors.
Chronos came onto one door then he said “This one.”
They then saw it the door with a giant circle with a line through it. Then Chronos opens the door with his magic then they gallop inside…
Princess Celestia flies into the room and sees a single white hallway. Then they saw a mass of swirling shadows in the shape of an Alciorn with two black eyes and he has two Alicorns wrapped in chains. Sun Dancer on the left with his blue eyes and his shaggy purple and a black mane fell over his face with a cutie mark of a sword and shield with the sun and moon behind it. While on the right was princess Astra a female Alicorn with a dark grey coat and mane that fell wildly around her with blue eyes and a cutie mark of a solver spear with a crescent moon behind it.
The Alicorn made of swirling grey shadows then said, “Welcome Chronos, princess Celestia and Shining Armor. You arrived as anticipated.”
The door closes behind them then princess Celestia fell down asleep as did Shining Armor then Chronos saw the floor moving under him he was now in front of the Alicorn made of swirling grey shadows.
He then said, “I’m going to kill Shining Armor and Celestia that’s a fact but not you. You we can still use.”
Then the evil Chronos appeared then the young Chronos gulped.
Then the Shadow Alicorn said, “You want to know a secret?”
Chronos then said, “I don’t care.”
The swirling shadows said, “He’s not real. He is just a puppet I created a being made from your DNA and with something, I call a fake soul. You see, the dimensions you’ve entered these doors this world all of it is my creation.”
Chronos then said, “Why are you telling me this? Who are you?”
the mass of swirling shadows then said, “I’m Erebus.”
Chronos then said, “What do you want?”
The shadow Alicorn then said, “You wouldn’t understand.”
Chronos then said, “You want me to turn. You want me to fail.”
Then Erebus replied, “Your failure is far from what I want.”
The evil Chronos jumped into Chronos then Chronos screamed as he fell on the ground. Then Erebus looked upon Chronos as he fell on the ground his eyes turned black.
He screamed then Erebus said, “You fear the evil within you.”
Chronos got up and shouted, “Screw you!”
Erebus then said, “You feel it the pain the loss. What you feel is my power if you let it consume you, allow it to let it in, you will become more powerful than I am, your power to unlock the corridor of magic is one that has never existed before until now. Yet I don’t understand why?”
Chronos replied, “You won’t turn me.”
Erebus chuckled “Come on Chronos you saw who’s going to get all the credit twilight she‘ll out shine everything you do.”
Chronos shouted, “I don’t care!”
He got up then said, “Like I said, before I no longer care about magic my only concern is destroying you!”
Chronos shot an energy blast at Erebus. Then a giant black shield came up and blocked the attack.
Erebus said, “I was hoping to turn you. Now I’ll have to kill all of you.”
Chronos saw the chains snap and that both princess Astra and prince Sun dancer were now on the other side of the hall. Then Shining Armor had up a shield protecting all of them.
Chronos then shouted “princess Celestia get out of here!”
She then shouted “Chronos don’t do this!”
Chronos turned back then said, “This is my destiny I know what I have to do.”
Shining armor then said “No… we can’t.”
Then Sun dancer got up and said, “I thought we killed him.”
Princess Astra got up and swore, “He’s going to stay dead this time!”
Princess Astra fired her horn into Erebus but his shield stayed up then giant black chains attacked them but shining armor put up the shield with Princess Celestia holding it up. Then Chronos wrapped in chains but he blasts through them and he jumps off the hall and then he teleports above Erebus. Erebus then flew upward and shoots a wave of shadow into Chronos who gets hit by the full blast and then falls to the floor below.
Princess Celestia with her energy back saw Chronos’s body was twisted and he has a giant hole in his stomach. Shining armor trotted back as Princess Celestia she swore then he flew at Erebus who sent a wave of energy. She blocks it then he slams her down with a giant blast on the floor.
As the floor collapses a giant white platform saved all of them. She saw Chronos was back on a white platform he then said “ this is my world.”
He looked up and then he fires his body into Erebus and kept teleporting and firing his horn into Erebus. Then Erebus with all of his chains wrapped around Chronos as he surged energy into Erebus.
Erebus then said, “Too bad you would have been my greatest disciple.”
Princess Celestia was trying to recover and princess Astra and Prince Sun Dancer were to tired and weak to stand, and Shining Armor is using his shield to keep them safe. Then as Chronos felt a surge of pain as if his nerves were on fire. He just screamed as princess Celestia got up then she blasted the chains shattering them then Chronos fell she flew to meet him but he was stabbed through the gut and then Erebus threw his body aside. Then princess Celestia placed a white sphere under him then Erebus was going to summon all of his dark chains to slam into princess Celestia a giant wave of energy hit the chains shattering them.
Erebus shouted “What the hell!”
Chronos woke then his eyes were glowing as he looked up then he teleported behind Erebus and with all of this new energy he teleported every pony out of the strange dimension.
Chronos woke in prince sun dancer’s bed. Chronos then said, “What happened?”
Prince Sun Dancer had his mane combed around his ears letting flow around him.
He chuckled then said, “You saved our lives. That’s what happened.”
Princess Astra entered the room then Chronos said “princess Astra right?”
She nods and said “Thank you for saving my life and my Dad’s.”
Princess Celestia enters the room then she gallops into the room and hugs her son.
She said, “Twilight she’s the one who saved us.”
Chronos replied, “You mean that strange blast of energy she made it.”
Princess Celestia nods.
Chronos then said, “Today was her test?”
princess Celestia then said, “We were lucky. I couldn’t tell her but she did save my life and she’s amazing, she even hatched the egg... “
She sighed then said, “I’m just happy were all alive.”
Chronos the said “Does she know about… us”
Princess Celestia shakes her head then Shining Armor galloped in the said, “Chronos you heard the good news!”
Chronos chuckled then said “Yeah I did Twilight she’s going to learn magic.”
Then princess Celestia said, “Prince Sun Dancer princess Astra let’s leave these two alone. Then Shining let him rest”
Shining armor nods and then as the royalty left.
Shining Armor replied, “Hey are you doing okay?”
Chronos coughed blood then Shining armor stepped back then Chronos said, “I’m fine just a cut in my mouth.”
Shining armor then asked, “You’re going to be okay right?”
Chronos nods and rasped, “Enough about me, I’m happy for your sister. I really am, actually she’s the one who saved us not me.”
Shining Armor then said, “Both of you saved us.”
Chronos chuckled, “Shining... Thank you for coming here to see me.”
Shining Armor replied, “No problem, I’m going to be back at my place for twilight’s celebration. When you’re feeling better would you come?”
Chronos nods and said “Yeah I’ll be there just let me have a few moments.”
Shining Armor left the room then Chronos waited until he could hare the distant sound of trotting hooves then he galloped to the bathroom and started to puke blood into the toilet.

chapter 7 chronos and Celestia come to terms
Chapter 7.
“Chronos and Celestia come to terms.”
Chronos, princess Celestia, Prince Sun Dancer and princess Astra in princess Celestia’s chamber Sun Dancer sat on her bed princess Astra was standing by the door and Chronos was near the back wall.
Chronos then said, “what about that thing whatever it was.”
Prince Sun dancer then said, “That thing is powerful more powerful then Omega and Abyss he’s the shadow he’s everywhere he’s … He’s planning something big something huge and all of us are involved. He is the one who caused the fall of the Alicorn he twisted Nova’s mind. Nova made the decision to follow him but ultimately he’s been the cause of all the evil that’s happened here in our world he’s fixed on this world and I bet it’s because of twilight. “
Chronos replied, “why her?”
princess Astra said “The elements of harmony, She may be the next pony to use them.”
Chronos then said “all of them?”
princess Celestia shakes her head then said “Only the element of magic. “
Chronos replied, “Then we need to keep all of this quiet from her.”
Princess Celestia then said, “That’s not our decision to make.”
Chronos then said, “You have no idea what it will do too her. Tell her now that if she fails everything ends and everything dies. She is going to end up like me.”
They all look at Chronos.
He then said, “I can’t be here any longer my whole life now is going travel the multiverse and block this shadow from entering this world. Tell me, do you want the same for her? What’s happening to me?”
princess Celestia looked at the ground then said, “That’s not up to her…”
Chronos then said “Yes it does, the world isn’t going to end in a second this darkness needs a link to this world and I’m going to destroy every link that bastard has so Twilight can live a normal life for at least now.”
Prince sun dancer then said “princess celestia you should also know what me and princess Astra were doing. “
Princess Astra then said, “We found a secure door one that led us straight to the world where the shadow originated from. The thing is we can’t stop him from coming but we can continue what we are planning to do before we were caught. We will monitor that world keeping me posted on the darkness and those who follow him

prince sun Dancer then said “We can find out his plans and give them to Chronos then he can give this intel to you.”
Chronos then said “Yet having a link can have him come.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “There will always be a link he will come that’s inevitable what we can do is be prepared and limit his movements before the war begins.”
Chronos nods then said, “Alright then where can I focus my power?”
prince Sun Dancer then said “Omega’s tower in the south. There the power to the other dimensions is strongest.”
Chronos replied, “I’ll leave immediately.”
Princess Celestia replied, “Chronos wait… This isn’t necessary we don’t even know if he will attack again we can wait him out.”
Chronos then said “This isn’t about me, this is about Twilight. She needs to have this life a good filly hood one where she isn’t forced to fight evil. I’m going south because I know that’s where my destiny lies.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “Mother, Chronos is right this is bigger than all of us we all have to do our part to keep Equestria safe.”
Princess Celestia then said “Chronos you can’t go south alone. Sun Dancer you’ll escort him there won’t you?”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said, “Of Course I will.”
Princess Celestia then turned to Chronos and said “You’ll be alone for years. I can’t condone such an endeavor knowing how it will affect you. So this has to be your decision is you going to do this are you ready?”
Chronos replied “princess Celestia, I don’t know if I’m ready but I know what I have to do.”
Princess Celestia then said “Take all the time you need Chronos then when you’re ready I’ll send you with my son to the south with an escort.”
Chronos nods and said “I’ll take this time to visit my family and Shining armor he can’t come with me.”
princess Celestia then said “I know it will be more difficult to dissuade him. He’s very fond of you.”
Chronos then said, “I’ll worry about shining armor you make sure Twilight doesn’t follow my hoof steps.”
He then leaves the room.
Then prince Sun dancer said, “I fear for Chronos he’s too young to understand what he will be losing.”
Princess celestia then said “He knows, I pushed him too far but he is the only one who can destroy the doors that are linked to the darkness we can’t allow the chance for the darkness to come into our world again.”
Chronos was with his parents they were in the kitchen. As they talked,
Chronos then said “Mom dad, you need to know that what I’m doing. I’m leaving Canterlot in fact I’m leaving Equestia.”
His mother shouted “Is this princess celestia forcing you to do this!”
Chronos then said “No this is my decision. You don’t understand there’s more at stake here than just my life. The world is in danger and I need to keep it safe, it will cost me it already has. But I’m willing to do what’s necessary; I need you two to understand.”
Chrono’s father then said, “I think I understand. Golden Sweet we can’t stop our son. Look at him; he’s been through more than both of us have have then our entire lives. He knows what he’s doing.”
Golden Sweet and Silver Dollar went to their son and hugged him then he hugs them back. He then said “Thank you both of you.”
They kissed him and then he got off the chair and trotted to the door.
Then his dad said “So this is goodbye?”
Chronos turned back to his parents then said “For now it is.”
Then his mother said “Goodbye Chronos.”
She hugs him again then his father bows his head then said “Good luck.”
Chronos then let’s go of his mom who was in tears then he turns to the door opens it and as he leaves, he slams the door shut.
Chronos was with Twilight and Shining armor in their house he was hugging Twilight he then said “You study hard and when we met again you’re going to have to show me all the spells you learned. Okay?”
She nods then said, “I will.”
she backs off then shining Armor said “I can’t let you go alone.”
Chronos sighs then said “Shining, while I’m gone you’re going to be the one who will be in charge of Canterlot’s safety on top of that you have a great life ahead of you. If you go with me that life will be gone forever.”
Shining Armor then said “I don’t care! You’re my best friend.”
Chronos nods then he said “I know I am but you need to understand that as a friend you need to know when you have to let me go. We may be hundreds of miles apart but we will find each other again soon I promise you that.”
Shining armor then said “Just don’t die.”
Chronos then said “I’ll try not to.”
He turns to them and then said “Twilight.”
She looked up then he said “Don’t ever give up. And Shining be on your guard especially on your wedding day.”
Shining armor chucked then said “What’s that supposed to mean.”
Chronos then said “That wasn’t a joke.”
He then trotted through the living room
Shining replied “Chronos ... what happened in the other dimension I mean…”
Chronos then said “Shining you don’t want the answer to that question. “
He then opens the door and strides outside.
Prince Sun Dancer was now strapped in blue armor with a new sword at his side he strides out of his room and then he sees princess Astra in silver armor and a silver spear strapped to her back then princess Celestia came forward and said “I can’t believe you’re going again.”
Prince Sun dancer then said “Mom, were allowing an elven year old colt to go fight in a war were not going to abandon him.”
Princess Celestia then said “I know I’m not here to stop you I just came to say goodbye.”
Prince Sun dancer swore then said, “I’m sorry I was out of line.”
Princess Celestia then said, “No you weren’t we are letting an elven year old colt fight and he may die. So I deserve some thrashing for that.”
Princess Astra then said “He won’t die we’ll be with him going back and forth brining him food and water and we’ll be protecting Equestria at the same time. In fact I believe he will benefit much from the experience.”
Princess Celestia then said, “princess Astra why do you have to be so analytical?”
princess Astra blushed then said “It’s just who I am.”
Prince sun Dancer then said “Trust me mom you have no idea what flying the multiverse with her is like.”
Princess Astra then said “whatever dad you’re the one who got us caught.”
Princess Celestia then said “Alright stop acting like bickering fillies and save the world.”
Prince Sun Dancer hugs his mom and princess Astra hugs princess Celestia as well. Then the three head down the stairs.
Chronos was now at the palace with Prince Sun Dancer and princess Astra,
She then said “Hey Chronos ready to go?”
He has two saddlebags packed and he was more determined than ever before
He then said, “Yeah I’m ready.”
They go into the carriage with the two white pegasi in front then they are lifted in the air then Chronos looks down on Canterlot.
He then sighed, “I wonder if I’ll ever see Canterlot again.”
Prince Sun dancer then said, “You will Chronos don’t ever lose hope.”
Chronos nods then continues to look at the ground wondering.
