//-------------------------------------------------------// The Guardian Angel -by RegalCrescent45- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Back Again //-------------------------------------------------------// Back Again Two figures stood in the void, both the size of a pony though one had a horn while the other looked to be an earth pony. "If I have to die to stop you from destroying this world... then so be it!" The earth pony shouted at the unicorn in front of him. Then there was a massive flash of white light and both figures were gone. As the world drifted into view, Raoke blinked his eyes trying to focus the world in front of him. looking around he noticed he was back on The Platform (http://legacydbz.forumotion.com/t27-kami-s-lookout). He originally wanted to call it The Lookout to remember his fellow Guardian on earth. However The Platform was his second choice. He had modeled if directly after its twin for that reason. Getting up he moved over to where the main building stood in the middle of the giant floating platform. Walking into the building he noticed the thick payer of dust that covered nearly every surface. Wondering how long he's been gone for. he's long since come to terms that he didn't die back then but merely transported somewhere. Now that he has arrived he knows he was apparently sent to the future. The big question now is... how far? Leaving the structure he walked at a leisurely to the edge. Reaching the edge he peered over and observed the world that spread out below him. Being this planets guardian gives him certain abilities, one is kinda useless but anyway, but now... he looked down at his charge and saw everything. The inhabitants going about their everyday lives unaware of the being watching over them and making sure their world stays safe. However he was looking for two beings in particular. After a good few minutes of searching he finally spots them. "It seems they moved, never thought they would ditch that forest but okay." he says to no one. POV Celestia The Solar Diarch was sitting at her desk looking over requests from the nobles. Out of the dozens that she's looked over only one was reasonable, and it came form the only true noble on the entirety of Canterlot. All the others were asking for tax changes and other things that would give them more power. In the back of her mind something was nagging at her, but she couldn't place what it was trying to tell her. She brushed it off thinking it was just her lack of sleep over the past few days. It wasn't until he looked at her calendar that her heart nearly burst from her chest. it was a few days before that fateful day one thousand years ago. The day he vanished without a trace. It was also the day she and her sister took up his mantle and duties. She briefly wondered weather or not to call the Elements an tell them, but she finally decided they were better off knowing the truth rather than finding out later that she had kept it from them. Turning back to her desk she fished out a piece of parchment and a quill and began writing a letter to her most faithful student. To my faithful student, I would like you and the other Element bearers to come to Canterlot tomorrow, there is something important I would like to discuss with the six of you. Spike may stay behind if he wishes to, he out of everypony needs rest. He is a growing dragon after all Twilight. With regards, Princess Celestia And with that she sent it off with a burst of golden light. //-------------------------------------------------------// A Story and Meeting //-------------------------------------------------------// A Story and Meeting Twilight and the rest of the Elements were currently on their way to Canterlot to meet with the princess about a mysterious topic. Not even Twilight herself was told what to expect... so naturally she had one of her freak out moments. A few hours later, the train pulled into the station and the six mares stepped off onto the platform. The sun shining brilliantly off the polished white marble the city seemed to be carved from. POV Celestia The solar diarch paced back and forth in the great hall. If one were to look around they would be told of past heroes and legendary battles through the ages. In each window there was a stained glass window depicting a scene of something that changed the course of history for better or for worse. In one window there were the two sister going up against a chimera of some kind, and if you were to do a little digging you would know that being is the self proclaimed God of Chaos, Discord. She had been pacing there all morning, the staff all worry she would put grooves into the floor at the rate she was going. After a few more minutes the doors at the other end of the room open and six mares walk into the room. At the front of the group is a purple alicorn with a dark purple mane highlighted with a pink stripe that framed a pair of magenta eyes that held an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Behind her was a unicorn with a coat not too different from the princess and a deep purple mane curled up accented with a pair of light turquoise eyes. Following the two unicorns was an orange earth pony with a blond mane tied back in a classic pony tail and tied at the end with a red hair tie which framed a pair of emerald eyes. The next are to enter the room is a cyan pegasus with a mane made of the entire color spectrum with a set of magenta eyes filled with confidence. After the flying rainbow there was a pale yellow, almost butter colored, pegasus with a long pink mane and a couple of light blue eyes. The last mare that entered could only be described as pink, she had a pink mane and a lighter pink coat, with light blue eyes being the only part of her that wasn't pink of some kind. The group made their way to the princess who had a look of brief relief on her face. Once they reach her she greets them as usual. "Twilight my faithful student, I trust your journey here was pleasant?" "Yes princess, may I ask why you asked us to come here?" The purple alicorn responds. "I'm glad to hear that, and as to why I called you all here... that is something I have to apologize for. I have kept secrets from you all, I see now that I should have trusted you all more. You see, today is a very special day indeed. Today is the day I lost someone very important to me and my sister a long time ago." "Princess did you just say 'someone' instead of somepony?" The rainbow maned pegasus blurted out before any of them could stop her. "I did Rainbow Dash, I said someone because he wasn't exactly a pony. But he was important to us anyway not because of what he was but because of what he did for us in our time of need." She continued, not breaking stride as she resumed her pacing completely oblivious to the mares who are now standing before her. "When discord threatened to turn the planet into his personal playground, we sought out a being who was spoken of only in legends. The being we were looking for was known then as The Guardian. He was called this because he would watch over the planet and keep it safe from harm when it could not fend for itself. Not much was known about him at the time, just a short description that was vague at best." "Luna and I began our trek to the last place he was rumoured to have been seen. The Badlands... and we searched for a trace of him for what seemed like forever. On the tenth day of our search we had run out of water and we were getting low on food as well. Back then there was very little food because Discord kept changing the time of day making it impossible to grow crops." POV Celestia(flashback) 'if we don't find some water soon we won't live much longer' the alabaster alicorn thought to herself so as to not scare her baby sister any more than she already was. To be fair she was starting to get frightened too, but not for the same reason as her sister. She was afraid of what would happen to Luna if she were to die... who would protect her from this insane world full of uncertainty? Another day passed and still no water in sight. Things were starting to become desperate, but there was nothing either of them could do for now. The much was obvious, they just needed to find the Guardian before it was too late. Why he hadn't already stopped Discord was plaguing her mind now more than ever. It was now the third day without water and she new that if a miracle didn't happen both of them were goners for sure. Fate however likes to wait until the last moment it seems because it was already nearing the end of this days cycle. The two sisters knew it was most likely their last night in the living world and had made peace with each other. That night they fell asleep expecting not to wake up. Celestia nearly jumped to a landing position from where she was laying just moments before. At first she was confused because the last thing she remembers is the last night of their search in the Badlands. It was then she remembered her sister and started looking frantically around to find her. When she was looking for Luna she took in here surroundings and noticed she was no longer in the Badlands, instead she was in a sparsely decorated room with white floor and walls. Then she noticed she was standing on a bed, which she was previously laying in. On the other side of the room stood another bed that her sister was sleeping soundly in. Breathing a sigh of relief she calmed down a little and took a closer look at the room they were currently in. There were small windows located high up on the wall, which after taking a closer look turned out to be slightly rounded. Just then a door on the other end of the room opened and a strange creature stepped into the room. The creature was almost as tall as her and her sister, and he wore what looked like red pajamas, on his feet were black boots with grey detailing on them. But the most interesting feature about this new being was his hair and eyes. Both his hair and eyes were a red color and his eyes seemed to pierce through your very soul when he looked at you. Who and what are you? I ask almost fearful. Well I am known as a great many things, but I believe my most notable would be Guardian. As to what I am, I am a Saiyan and that is all you need to know for now. Now I believe it is my turn to ask some questions." The creature said, it took a few extra seconds for the white alicorn to register what it said. She almost couldn't believe it, they'd done it! they had found the one bring who could truly help them in their time of need. Here standing in front of her was one of the most powerful beings on the planet, perhaps he would go down and defeat Discord right now? "Please, Guardian! We desperately need your help! A true monster has descended upon us and we don't have the power to stop it..." By now tears had sprung forth of their own accord and streamed down my face. "I know, I've known about Discord for quite some time in fact." He replied as he sat down at the table on the far side of the room. I couldn't believe what I'd just heard... he knew! He knew all about what we were going through and yet he did NOTHING! My anger nearly exploded once that thought had made its way into my head. "You knew!? And yet you did nothing!? WHY!?" I screamed at him. By now Luna was awake and was watching this all take place. "Why?" He repeated. "Well to keep things as simple as possible, I can't do anything. He's much more powerful than I am, it's just that simple Young one." I couldn't believe it. Our one last hope, and he says he isn't strong enough to help us. It felt almost light my entire world had shattered around me. POV Luna He can't help us? How can that be... I thought he was suppose to be stronger than anything else? "Is that why you were traversing the wasteland below? Searching for the answer to your problem, Which I admit was noble." He spoke, thought I don't think Tia heard it. "Wh-what do you mean?" I ask. "When something is too hard for any single person to overcome, a lot of them would be too stubborn to admit when they can't do something. They would continue to try until ultimately they were destroyed beyond any hope of recovering." He responded as he poured a glass of water from a pitcher that was on the table. Getting up he approached me with the glass and handed it to me. "Here, you need to drink some water." "Thank you." I say as I take a sip from the glass. "If you cannot defeat Discord then what will we do about him? I don't think anypony can beat him now." "Right now here is no one who can beat him, that may be true. But soon there will be." He said with an ever widening grin that made me feel uneasy Now Tia had finished her mental melt down and turned to look at him in a confused daze. "What do you mean?" She inquired. "Simple, I'm going to train you until you're strong enough to use the Elements of Harmony to seal him away!" He replied still smiling. POV Twilight "Wait, you needed training to use the Elements? How come we could use them without that training?" To say I was confused would be an understatement of epic proportions. Celestia looked at Twilight, "That was because you six each embody one of the elements, where as me and Luna needed to find those parts of ourselves in order to use them." She then looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it read seventeen minutes to ten. "I think we should continue this story in the morning everypony, don't want to be tired tomorrow do you?" And with that we all headed to bed in our guest rooms here in the castle. //-------------------------------------------------------// Knocking On Gods Door //-------------------------------------------------------// Knocking On Gods Door POV Twilight The world slowly came back to me as my mind swapped from sleeping to wakefulness. After I wipe the sleep from my eyes I look at the clock on the small table next to my bed. It reads eleven... just great. I doubt I'll be able to go back to sleep so I get up and get dressed. Once I'm all set I leave my room and begin to wander the halls of my foalhood home after I became Celestia's personal student. As I walked along the halls I started to feel something pulling me in a certain direction, Knowing the castle had several hidden rooms that even I hadn't found yet I let the feeling guide me. Eventually I came to a solid looking wooden door in a corridoor I had never seen before. Something was telling me to go through the door. Reaching forward I grasped the handle with my hand and pulled it open, immediately I'm blinded by a bright light. When I can see again I look at my surroundings and notice that I'm no longer in a dimly lit hall but a brightly lit room. Looking behind me I see an exact copy of the door I entered from, I wanted to say it was the same dor but somehow it didn't feel like it was. Ever since becoming an alicorn I've learned to trust the feelings I often got about things around me because more often than not they were correct. Looking back in front of me I notice another door set into the far wall, walking towards it weaving my way around the covered pots on the floor. Opening the door I walk through and find myself in a rather large common room of sorts, it had tables and chairs scattered around with a fireplace off to the side. The sound of china clinking together brought my attention to one of the far tables and what I saw nearly made me faint. Sitting at the table was a bipedal creature, but what startled me the most was its appearance. It had red hair and red eyes and wore red pajama like clothing, exactly like what Celestia described the Guardian to look like! "Hello young one, What brings you to visit little old me... hm?" He spoke, glancing up from the book he held in his hand. "W-well I was just wandering the castle and then I found this strange door I had never seen before, I opened it and then I found myself in the room through the door behind me." I said in a nervous voice, which he must have noticed. "You don't have to be scared around me young one. Come and sit for a while." He said motioning to the other chair at the table he was at. Making my way over to the table I sat in the chair he pointed out and waited patiently for him to speak. "So it seems that door still exists even after all this time eh? Good I wasn't looking forward to making another one. But let me ask you something little filly... what is your name?" "M-my name is Twilight Sparkle" I respond still a little nervous, from what princess Celestia had told us he was a very powerful being so I thought it was best not to upset him. He seemed to jump a bit when he heard my name. "So the sparkle clan is still kicking as well? That is most interesting indeed. Now miss sparkle is there anything on your mind that you wish to talk about?" He said not looking up from his book except to take a sip of what I can now tell is tea. By now my nervousness had almost completely faded away as a calmness seemed to radiate from the being in front of me. "You're the one known as the Guardian aren't you?" I ask trying to make sure I wasn't just seeing things. "Hmm, you could say that yes. Though I haven't been around for quite some time. Now I get to ask a question, How do you know that title?" He replied setting down his book for the first time since I had entered the room. "Well Princess Celestia told me and my friends about you. She hasn't told us everything but she told us what you looked like and when she first met you." I said as he raised a brow at the mention of the princess. "And how does this Princess Celestia person know about me? I don't recall ever meeting a pony by that name. The only ponies I ever interacted with were my two students." He said taking a sip of his tea. "What were your students names?" I ask hoping he would tell me. "They were known as Sunbeam and Starshine, they were alicorns not unlike yourself, Sunbeam had a white coat with a pink undertone to it and a pink mane while Starshine was a cobalt blue and lighter blue mane. However once their training was complete their manes changed to an ethereal form, Sunbeam had an aroura borealis and Starshine had a starry night sky for manes." "Thats exactly what Princess Celestia and Luna look like!" I exclaimed. "So they are known as Celestia and Luna now? I figured they would have passed on a long time ago but it seems even they are meant to stay." He said with a smile on his face. Now miss sparkle is there anything else you wish to talk about?" "Well I would like to ask you a few questions about this place if you don't mind." I say as I look around the room. "Do you mean this room or the structure?" He replied with a slight smirk. "I meant the structure if you don't mind." I say not noticing the smirk. "Well currently we are in the sitting room of my home, where we are is a little hard to explain without you freaking out." He said dropping the smirk and replacing it with a calm expression "What do you mean?" I ask almost afraid of the answer. "My home floats in the upper atmosphere miss sparkle, I wasn't sure how well you would take that. I know Starshine wasn't very receptive when I told her. She hyperventilated and passed out." He said with a chuckle. "Really? How do you keep it up in the air like that?" I ask not really sure i believe what he just told me. "I don't honestly know how it happens miss sparkle" He said draining the last of his tea. "But as with anything on this planet... it can probably be explained through magic or something like that. Now before we go into other things... I have to know something, What is most important to you?" I close my eyes and think for a moment, the first things to come to mind are my studies and magic. But then my mind passes one of the many happy memories I have of me and my friends going o the park for a picnic or having a sleepover at the library. "The most important things to me are my friends and family." I say with a wide smile. "Impressive, and how did you come to that conclusion miss sparkle?" He continued. "I thought about all the good times we've had together how happy my life has become since I met them all." I reply still thinking of them. "I would give everything for my friends." "I'm happy to hear you say that, Element of Magic." I look up and see him smiling almost as wide as I was. "I have enjoyed our chat young one, but I believe the others will start to worry if you aren't back for breakfast on time." I look at the only clock on the wall and it reads half past seven. "Oh no! I'm going to be late!" "Just go back the way you came young sparkle, the door will get you back to where you came from in time to meet with the others. Though I ask of you to keep quiet about our little session until I make myself known to my pupils again." He states as he picks his book back up and continues reading. "Why though?" I ask confused as to why he would want to remain hidden for any longer. "Because if they knew I was back they would come storming up here demanding answers that I simply don't have right now." "Oh... ok." And with that I head back through the two doors and find myself back in canterlot castle. I guess it's time to start my day.
