"W-What?" Button stutters in his bedroom.

His mom has just given him 'the talk' and follows up with, "And that's why it's growing."

"Does... Does every pony do it?"

She smiles softly, "Only if two ponies feel a strong emotional connection." She tucks him in and asks, "Do you have any more questions?"

"Well," Button Mash pauses.

"Yes."

"N-Never mind."

She sighs and turns off the lamp beside the bed, "Well if you have anymore questions, just ask."

"Okay."

She gives the growing colt a kiss on the forehead and leaves, closing the door behind her. Button looks up to the ceiling as he lays. His one Pac-Pony poster with a cheesy grin stuck there by Button at Christmas.

"Well," He thinks, "I'm not comfortable asking you, mom. I still need to ask someone, but who?"

He ponders this for a few moments while twiddling his hooves together and then, "Sweetie Belle! I could ask Sweetie Belle. We've been friends for a while, but," He realizes, "would she be okay with me asking?" He rolls to his side and says quietly outloud, "Guess I gotta wait after school tomarrow.

The Next Day At School

Button sits at his desk with Sweetie sitting next to him. The teacher's speaking, but Button's mind was sadly focused on an inappropriate question. He looks over to Sweetie who his focused on the teacher. Something about that he loves about her. He just found knowledgeable girls so appealing, but wasn't sure why. She does enjoy games too.

"Wait," He thinks, "Why am I thinking of her in this way? She's my friend."

Sweetie looks over to him and he becomes flushed with embarrassment for staring and snaps his head back to the teacher.

"What's wrong?" She asks.

"What?" He asks. A lousy try on avoiding the question.

"Is something wrong?"

"Oh, no. Not at all."

"You sure? You're sweating."

Button takes a hoof to his face and actually feels sweat, "I'm fine. Honestly."

Then, like she knew somehow, Sweetie asks, "Is there something you need to ask?"

He hesitates, but answers honestly, "Yes, but can I ask you after school?"

She smiles softly and says, "Sure."
