When Extremes Meet

Sunset Shimmer stormed through the halls, looking much angrier than usual. "Move! Get out of my way!" She yelled at every student passing by. Running behind her were her two 'henchmen' Snips and Snail.

"Geez Sunset, what's wrong?" asked Snails.

"Yeah, you won the Princess of the Fall Formal for the fourth year in a row. You should be celebrating." said Snips.

"Why? WHY? Because, you idiots, I..." Sunset stopped herself from revealing the truth. While she had won the crown for the fourth year in a row, her recent trip to Equestria ended horribly. All the years she spent in the world of the humans, planning the day of her return, and Equestria turns out to have been taken over by a force Sunset had no hope of beating. Even worse, she had to wait thirty whole moons for the next time the portal would open. "Because I'm stuck with you idiots, that's why! Get out of my sight!" She yelled.

Snips and Snails felt so small, and did just as she said, just like they always had. The students around her found Sunset even more intimidated by her than they ever did.

"Sunset Shimmer, please report to the Principal's office." said Vice-Principal Luna over the intercom.

And now there's this. Sunset thought to herself.

Before entering Principal Celestia's office, Sunset put on the best fake smile she could. Despite her anger, she knew she had to keep up the façade of being little miss perfect in front of the faculty. She entered.

"Why, hello Principal Celestia. How are you today?"

"I'm fine Sunset Shimmer, thank you for asking. Please sit down." Celestia said. "Congratulations on your win at the Fall Formal again."

"Oh, I just couldn't believe I won. Although, I did feel bad I was running opposed. There are so many other girls in this school who were more worthy than me."

"You truly are one of this school's star students. Which is why I'm hoping you won't mind showing our new students around campus."

"What?"

"Yes. Tomorrow, three new girls will arrive, and they'll need someone to show them around campus. I trust you'll be able to, correct?"

Sunset wanted to say no, and many possible excuses flowed through her mind. But she thought back to when she was a new student, and how Flash Sentry got to skip the first period to show her around. Being able to skip class seemed way better, even if it meant having to be nice to three girls.

"Of course I will." said Sunset.

"Thank you Sunset. You can report here tomorrow. Now, have a great rest of the day."
