The Letters In Her Songs

Octavia's New Muse

Octavia sighed as she stood on the large wooden stage in the concert hall, she then placed her cello down on the ground and put her bow on top of it as she walked back stage and walked over to a desk with a small stack of sheet music on it. Octavia leaned her head down and keep her hand under it for support as she began to flip through the sheet music one page at a time hoping to find a piece of music that would spark her interest again as it once did as when she wrote it, but to no prevail. Octavia groaned as she said to herself "Ugh, it's no use. All of my music sounds exactly the same and are all played by the same bloody instrument that is played by the same dumb performer, Octavia Melody." Octavia suddenly swiped her hand across her desk causing all of the sheets of music to fly into the air and slowly fall to the ground. Octavia slammed her head onto the desk out of angry and sadness, but then she heard a vibrating noise coming from her bag that was sitting beside her. She looked through the bag to see it was her smart phone that was causing the noise. She looked at the phone's screen and saw a picture of the girlfriend, Vinyl Scratch. She clicked the green button on the screen, held the phone up to her ear, and asked in a tired tone of voice "Hello?"

Vinyl then said in response "Hey babe, it's me. I was just wondering what you were doing. You weren't at the apartment."

Octavia sighed as she said "Oh Vinyl, I'm sorry if I worried you. I'm at the concert hall writing a song for the audition I have coming up."

Vinyl sighed loudly and said "Ugh, your still working on that. Like it's been days, when I do a show or something I don't even practice, I just do it."

Octavia laughed as she said "Well, that's because your show consist of loud random music, I mean for god sakes you could play the same song five times in a row and your fans wouldn't even care because they'll be to drunk to even notice because the places you play at are clubs and bars. While me, on the other hand, my shows consist of finely played elegant music and if I play the same song I played from three weeks ago at my last performance I won't get paid and I'll won't receive another job from the owner of the place I performed at ever again!"

Vinyl laughed and said "Okay, Octea. Now your just being overdramatic and when you get like this I know somethings wrong, so just calm down and meet me at Coca Cafe so we can talk."

But before Octavia could interject Vinyl hung up the phone and Octavia knew that meant she had to do it and no excuses were to be made. So she cleaned up the mess of papers that were on the ground, grabbed her bag, and walked out the front door of the concert hall to meet Vinyl.

Octavia exhaled deeply trying to gain herself once again as she walked down the sidewalk to go to the town's cafe where she was going to meet Vinyl. She made it and walked in to see Vinyl was not there, she wasn't to surprised considering that the concert hall was much closer to the cafe then their apartment was. So Octavia walked over to one of the booths and sat down to wait. About five minutes pasted and Octavia began to get a bit bored, so she pulled out a notebook and begin writing down different songs that came to mind only for each of them to be crossed out because they matched her other songs to much. Octavia began to get frustrated and began shaking franticly as she wrote down different notes on each page but then crossed it out and said to herself nervously "No, this ones to much like that one that I wrote last month."

She shook her head as suddenly she began to heard music play all around her. She looked around for any music boxes or people who had instruments but she found no one. She began to focus further on the music and found that it matched no other one she wrote before. She smiled delightfully, total forgetting about finding where the music is coming from, as she began to write it down in her notebook. As she got midway down the page of the notebook, she was interrupted by a familiar voice saying "Hey Octea, whatcha doing?"

She stopped her work as she looked up and realized that Vinyl was standing there. Octavia smiled and put her notebook away before saying "Oh hey, Vinyl. I wasn't really working on anything important, just trying to write an original song that doesn't sound like anything else I've wrote in my six years of being a composer."

Vinyl laughed as she sat down across from Octavia and asked "Oh, could you mind if I took a look at it?"

Octavia cringed slightly as she felt like Vinyl had no right to look at her work. She quickly thought "She doesn't need to look at it! It's our work not hers."

"But it's my girlfriend. If she wants to look at my work, she can." she argued.

Octavia grabbed her notebook and opened it to her latest page and said "Of course, Vinyl." Vinyl smiled as she grabbed the book and began looking over the page of poorly, quickly written musical notes. Octavia then heard the replaying music around her get louder and more annoying to listen to. She covered her ears but found it did not help. The music seemed like it was coming from both around her and inside her. Octavia began to rub her temples as Vinyl handed back her notebook with a smile and said "This seems pretty good, Octea."

Vinyl gave her a strange look as she asked "Octavia, are you okay?"

Octavia could barely hear Vinyl as she lied "Yes, Vinyl. I'm fine." Octavia then placed her hand on her notebook and suddenly the music calmed down and Octavia sighed in relief and she didn't want to let go of the notebook in fear of the music getting louder again. She softly placed the book on her bag before turning back to Vinyl who said "Are you sure, Octea? If you want, we can just go home."

Octavia smiled and said "No, Vinyl. This is nice. I love being with you and I've missed you over the past days where I haven't come home." Vinyl smiled and the two grabbed hands as a waitress came over to their table and Vinyl ordered herself a meal but Octavia simply said "Oh, it's okay. I'm not hungry."

Vinyl laughed and said "Bullshit." She looked over at the waitress and said "You can get her what I'm having." The waitress laughed and nodded as she walked into the kitchen with the order.

Octavia laughed as shook her head and said "Vinyl, you didn't have to do that. I'm not that hungry and besides, I've gone on longer without food."

Vinyl sighed as she said "Okay, Octea. Whatever you say."

Octavia smiled as Vinyl squeezed her hand softly and stared into her eyes. Octavia then felt really awkward and she heard the music around her get louder which caused her headache to become worst. She looked to the side at her notebook and thought that it might be her relief in some way but she ignored it and looked back at her beautiful and loving girlfriend. After about thirty seconds, the pain became very immense and she found the pain to be to much to bare. Octavia felt a slump from in her throat as Vinyl smiled and asked "So would you be able to come home so we can have one of those nice nights alone like we used to have?"

Octavia let out a fake laugh and said shakily "Umm, ah sure."

Vinyl smiled seductively at her girlfriend but in only a few seconds, Octavia could not take the pain anymore and she jumped up grabbing her bag and saying quickly "I need to use the bathroom," and before Vinyl could even mutter a word, Octavia ran into the bathroom and locked herself inside. She quickly pulled out her notebook and pen and began scratching down the musical notes she heard echoing around her. She soon noticed the notes going by faster and faster causing her to have to write even faster which slowly caused her to become more stressed and she found herself not even able to understand the notes any longer. She started to twitch and move uncontrollable before she began to cry and she threw her pen and notebook at the wall, leaving a large spatter of ink on the wall because the pen broke on contact, as she curled into a ball on the ground as she cried. As she did that, the music seemed to get quieter but loud enough for Octavia to still know it was there. Octavia continued to cry, as she heard a knock on the door followed by Vinyl's voice asking "Hey Octea, you okay in there?"

Octavia wiped off her face with her hand and said in her most calm voice possible "Yes Vinyl, I'm okay. Just give me a second and I'll be out."

She heard Vinyl begin to walk away from the door as she said "Okay, your food is ready so hurry up before it gets cold."

Octavia grabbed some paper towels and wiped off her face and hands before she collected her notebook and cleaned up the ink mess on the wall and floor before she washed off her hands with water and made she her eyes weren't to puffy and red before grabbing her stuff and walking out of the restroom and sitting back in her seat across from Vinyl.

As she sat down, Vinyl laughed as she took a bite of her food and asked "You took a long time in there, Octea. Do you have some sort of "problem" I don't know about?"

Octavia laughed and shook her head before saying "No, I don't any kind of problems using the bathroom."

Vinyl laughed and said "Well, good." The two finished their meals and Vinyl looked outside and saw it was getting dark. She looked over at Octavia and asked "Hey Octea, you want to call it a night and head back home?"

Octavia smiled at Vinyl and was about to say "Yes" but found that a strange unseen force was making the large concert hall in the distance seem even more appealing then it already was to her. Octavia looked back at her girlfriend as she fought the urges to go back to work before saying "Okay, Vinyl. Let's call it a night."

Vinyl smiled as she walked up to the counter and paid for their meals before walking out of the cafe with Octavia to go to their apartment.

The two arrived at their apartment complex and they walked upstairs and walked down the hall until they made it to their apartment. Vinyl unlocked the door and walked in with Octavia by her side and she noticed the place was a lot more messier then she had left it but that was to be expected if you live with Vinyl Scratch. The apartment had only three rooms, the bedroom, the bathroom, and the living room/ kitchen, so there wasn't much to see but it was enough for the two of them.

Vinyl lead Octavia into the bedroom and handed her her sleepwear and said with a smile "Here you go."

Octavia walked into the bathroom and took off her vest before hearing Vinyl say "I don't know why your being so modest. It's not like your packing anything I haven't seen before."

Octavia laughed softly as she changed into her sleepwear before she looked over herself in the mirror and walked out to see Vinyl in her sleepwear waiting in bed for her and she smiled as Octavia walked over to the bed and Vinyl said with a smile "Come on, Babe. Lay down already. I missed you."

Octavia grabbed her phone and said "Hold on one second, Vinyl. I want to call and talk to someone real quick before we go to sleep."

Vinyl groaned as she rolled over and said "Who do you want to talk to at this time of night?"

Octavia clicked on the contacts in her phone and clicked on one of them and the phone began to ring as she said "My friend, Rarity."

Vinyl laid herself out as she said "Fine, whatever."

Octavia laughed and shook her head before walking out the door into the hallway as Rarity picked up the phone and said with cheer "Hello, Octavia, Darling. How are you today?"

Octavia smiled and said "I'm doing okay, Rarity. I just wanted to ask you a quick question."

Rarity made a curious sound as she asked "Hmm, what is it, Dear?"

"I was wondering if you ever heard or seen anything that's helped you with your talent."

"Oh yes, Dear. I often look at other people and see them in a dress and it just speaks to me. That's what I've done for almost all of your dresses that you wear during your shows. Why would you ask such a thing?"

"Oh well, I've just been hearing music in my head. New music that I've never heard before and I was afraid I was going insane," Octavia laughed softly.

Rarity laughed "Oh, Dear. I believe musicians call that a Muse. Many popular and talented people have this. It's completely normal."

Octavia laughed again but this time out of embarrassment rather then just humor "Oh good, well thank you and have a good evening."

"Okay, you too, Dear."

Octavia ended the call with a sigh of relief as she took a quick breather before walking back into her and Vinyl's room. As she entered, Vinyl rolled back over and said "Ugh, finally! God, I've been waiting forever for you."

Octavia placed her phone down and walked over to her girlfriend and lightly poked her on the nose before saying "Well, look who's being overdramatic now."

Vinyl grabbed Octavia by the waist and say "Why you....!" She quickly pulled Octavia on top of her and rapped her legs over her before saying "Now I shall subject you to eternal love!"

Octavia laughed at Vinyl's stupid but funny jokes and humor and said played along and said with the back of her hand covering her forehead dramatically "Oh no, I don't think I could ever live through such a horrible punishment!"

Vinyl laughed as the two embraced each other in a kiss and Vinyl said "I love you, Octea."

Octavia brushed the side of Vinyl's face softly and said "I love you too, Vinyl."

Not a word was spoken as the two of them slept in each other's arms and fell asleep.

Octavia suddenly woke up in the middle of the night to a sudden disturbance in the air around her. The beautiful music she feel asleep to now became louder and had now awoken her. It seemed as if the music now knew she was awake and it began to play even louder and Octavia knew what her Muse was trying to tell her. It wanted her to write it down. So she slowly made her way out of Vinyl's grasp before she dug into her bag and pulled out her notebook, which was now stained with partial stains of black ink, and a pen before she sat down at her desk. She quickly moved the mess of empty pizza boxes and other trash before she placed her notebook down and bean writing down the piece of music she's been hearing all day. When she finally wrote down the final musical note, she heard the music stop before playing the song one last time at the perfect volume and Octavia found it very relaxing and beautiful. After that, the music stopped and Octavia found herself very unused to the quiet she was experiencing, it was nice but seemed weird and kind of misplaced. Octavia placed her notebook back into her bag before laying back down next to Vinyl and drifted off to sleep once again. Octavia woke up the next morning to the thought of having a dream about music, just music. It was strange. She felt as if her whole life now was centered around music unlike ever before. She knew her career, hobby, and life were all music related but she also had other things in life. Her friends, family, and Vinyl were all the first things to come to mind but now, for some reason, one part of Octavia knew those things mattered while the other part didn't. She looked over next to her and noticed Vinyl was still sleeping soundly like an adorable little baby. Octavia looked down at her and smiled but looked over to her bag and suddenly heard a new melody play around her once again. She gasped her head in her hands as she said "Ugh, not now. Why now?! Please, Muse, let me have some time with my girlfriend." She felt the need to speak to her Muse as if it were a people or entity in and of itself but she wasn't sure why, she just did. She then heard the thought "Do you really need Your Little Vinyl Scratch? No, you don't. All you need is your music, your muse, and your cello." Octavia shook her head and said "No, I need her. I love her. She's supported me through out my career and I've done the same for her."

"But you don't need that support, do you? Support is just a boost for the weak. If you truly want to become strong, ditch your support and go out on your own."

"No, support is not for the weak! It's to help the weak and encourage the strong."

Octavia heard the music around her get louder as her thoughts said "Go and write music now!!" Octavia felt her brain milt away as she felt one lonely tear fall down her cheek and hit the bed. She stood up and said "Okay, please just make it stop." Her Muse lowered in volume giving her relief and she heard her thoughts say "Good, now. Go and get ready like a good little girl." Octavia lowered her head and obeyed her thoughts. After she was fully clothed, she grabbed her bag and gave Vinyl and kiss on the head before walking outside and to the theater.

About an hour passed before Octavia, who was sitting at her desk in the concert hall writing the music Her Muse played, relieved a message from Vinyl asking "Hey, Babe, where'd you go? I wanted to get some breakfast." Octavia picked up her phone and typed "I'm sorry, Vinyl. I'm at the concert hall and wanted to stay home but I didn't really seem to have much choice." Octavia watched as her other hand involuntary came up and started deleting the message she typed and instead typed "I'm at the concert hall, sorry. Had a great idea and had to get it out on paper."

"Oh ok, maybe I'll stop by later and we can get some lunch?"

Octavia quickly typed "Okay, where do you want to go?" But her other hand deleted it and typed "I'm not sure. This song's kind of long and I don't want any distractions."

Vinyl took a few extra seconds to text back "Ok, are you going to be able to come home today?"

Octavia smiled and thought "Of course," but she texted "I'm not sure, probably not."

"Oh, ok.."

didn't even close her eyes as she just stared at the clock as she continuously heard a loud song play through her head but this one Octavia never heard before. Octavia just couldn't take it anymore, so she made sure Vinyl was asleep before changing into some new clothes and running back to the concert hall. As Octavia walked through the front door of the building, she tried to remember that song she was hearing the whole way to the concert hall but for some reason she couldn't remember. She made it backstage before screaming out of anger "FUCK, WHY CAN'T I REMEMBER THAT FUCKING SONG! I WAS HEARING IT THE WHOLE WAY HERE!" Octavia ran over to the desk and punched it and she was about to continue screaming but then she heard another song and this one was new too. She sat down in her desk and was going to start writing down the song's notes but then a new instrument started to play and that instrument was the piano. Octavia never really listened to any music expect the cello so she was astounded by the beautiful sound the piano was producing. She was simply captivated and didn't even bother to write anything down as she listened to it. By the end of the song, Octavia felt abscessed with the instrument and she felt she needed to learn how to play it. So she ran over to the piano that was in the corner and began trying to learn how to play that song she heard.

By the time morning came, Octavia learned to play the intro of the song and was slowly learning to play more of it through self lessons. Octavia was writing down the notes that she learned were in the song when her phone buzzed. Octavia finished writing down the notes and looked through her bag for her phone.

She picked up her phone and looked on the screen to see a text from Vinyl that read "Where are you?"

Octavia rolled her eyes as she texted back "I left this morning before you woke up to practice my song."

"Oh okay, I just figured you'd stay a little longer before leaving or at least just wait for me to wake up."

"Well Vinyl, I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

Octavia tossed her phone into her bag before saying to herself "Where else would I be? This is my only prepose in life, writing and preforming music." Octavia continued learning the song and writing down each note that she learned. A few hours passed and Octavia now learned and wrote down half of the song that she still continued to hear in her head and she started to play the song again as the front doors to the concert hall opened and Vinyl walked into the building. Vinyl heard the music and was curious to who was playing it, so she walked onto the stage and walked around backstage to see Octavia playing the piano. Vinyl just stood there and listened to the wonderful music being played by her girlfriend until the song ended with Octavia ending it quickly and writing down a few musical notes in her notebook.

Before Octavia started again, Vinyl started clapping her hands and said "Wow, Octea. That was great."

Octavia quickly spun around and asked with a maddish tone "What are you doing here?"

Vinyl was taken aback by her mad tone and said cautiously "I was just coming by to see how you were doing and to give you something to eat."

Vinyl had out a rather large plastic container with something brownish in color inside. Octavia looked at her piano then back at Vinyl before slowly getting up and walking over to Vinyl and grabbing the container. Octavia removed the lid and saw three fluffy pancakes inside with a white plastic fork and knife on top of them.

As Octavia picked up the fork, Vinyl said "I know its not much but it will fill you up enough, right?" Octavia stared at the pancakes before cutting into it with the knife and picking up the small piece and eating it.

She then swallowed before saying "Yes, this will be enough but there's no need for you to bring me food. If I wanted something to eat I would have left to get some food."

Vinyl shook her head before saying "No, you wouldn't. The last time you went all crazy over a song, you starved yourself and you passed out from lack of food and water."

Octavia sighed as she continued eating the meal and Vinyl said "I didn't know you knew how to play the piano."

Octavia cut into the second pancake before replying "I didn't but I taught myself."

Vinyl smiled and said "Well, that's cool."

Octavia finished her pancakes and placed the plastic utensils inside of the container and closed it before saying "Thank you, Vinyl. But if you wouldn't mind, I need to get back to working on my song."

Vinyl gave Octavia a fake smile as she said "Oh, okay. But call me if you need anything."

Octavia didn't reply as she turned back to her piano and continued playing. Vinyl sighed as she walked off the stage and walked through the concert hall and out the front door.

Three day passed and Octavia has finished her song and is getting ready for her big show today. She's wearing an elegant grey dress and grey high heels and unlike normal she's wearing make up. She was well prepared for this day but for some reason she still felt rather scared.

Octavia began to pace back and forth in the backstage area of the concert hall but then stopped when the stagehand walked up to her and said "Miss. Melody, five minutes until the show starts."

Octavia smiled at her and nodded her head before the stagehand walked off.

Octavia inhaled deeply as Vinyl walked over to her and said "Hey Octea, how are you feeling?"

Octavia laughed softly and said "A little nervous."

Vinyl kissed her and said "Hey, it's going to be fine. Just don't sweat it."

Octavia brushed her hair back before walking over to her cello that was sitting next to a large piano which was the one she was practicing on for the last few days. She grabbed her cello and her bow and stood up next to the piano and waited for the red curtains to open. Octavia waited for what felt like hours but finally the curtains opened and she saw the huge crowd of over two hundred people sitting down watching her. She tightened her grip on her bow and suddenly the notes from her song began to float through her head and she began to see a clear vision of each note and she began to play each note she saw. As Octavia played, each note she saw disappeared as she played it allowing a new note to float into her vision. As the intro of the song came to an end, Octavia walked over to the piano and switched from playing the cello to playing it instead. Luckily, for her the transition from one instrument to the other was surprising smooth and didn't seem at all rushed. As she played the piano, she slowly started getting faster and faster and the notes in her mind began to fade away much quicker then they did before. Octavia ended the song on a very low note that echoed through the building for about five seconds before quieting down leaving the concert hall dead silent. Octavia was breathing heavily as she looked up towards the crowd with tears in her eyes and waited for an applause that came suddenly at a very loud volume. The applause continued for a good minute with Octavia already off the stage and receiving praise from the stagehands and others working backstage which she just ignored. Octavia walked to the back room of the backstage area and pulled her notebook and a pen out of her bag and began writing down a song using only the piano.

As she worked, Vinyl walked in and said "Hey Octea, you did a fantastic job out there. I mean that was amazing."

Octavia didn't even bother to look up at Vinyl as she said "Yes, I know. Thank you."

Vinyl looked at her confused and asked "Hey, what's that your working on?"

Octavia sighed and said "It's a song."

Vinyl walked over to Octavia's side and asked "But why are you working on that? You don't have another show you need to go to."

Octavia looked up at Vinyl and said in a deeper and madder tone "This show hasn't ended yet. The show never ends."

Vinyl gave Octavia a concerned look and said "Umm Octea, are you okay? You've been acting different for a while now and it's really creeping me out."

Octavia looked back down at her notebook and continued writing before saying in a melancholy tone "I'm perfectly fine, Vinyl. Now please leave."

Vinyl didn't want to argue with Octavia so she walked out the door and was about to close it but Octavia shoved the door close and locking it. Vinyl sighed as she walked through the concert hall but as she got half way through the building she was stopped by the conductor of a large orchestra widely known around the world.

He smiled as he asked "Excuse me, miss? Are you Vinyl Scratch?"

Vinyl wiped her hair back and said "Yeah, that's me. Why?"

The man smiled and said "I'm George Vinsey and I was wondering if you known where Octavia Melody is. I heard you two were close so I was sure you would know where she is."

Vinyl sighed and said "Yeah, she's backstage but she's not in the mood to talk to anyone right now."

George frowned as he said "Well, isn't that a shame. Well Miss. Scratch, when she is in the mood to talk to someone, give her this."

He hands Vinyl a white card with fancy silver cursive writing that read "George Vinsey- 845-112-4356". Vinyl slipped the card into her pocket and said "Sure, I'll give that to her later."

George smiled and said "Splendid, I'll be waiting for her call."

Vinyl walked away and walked out the door and headed to her apartment.

Vinyl walked inside her apartment and flopped on her couch and asked herself "Why is Octea acting like this? Is it because of me, am I a bad girlfriend? Do I not support her enough? Does she not love me anymore? Is it because I'm to pushy? What wrong with me?" Vinyl then shoved her face into a pillow and began to cry. After a few minutes later, Vinyl's phone began to ring and she sniffed before pulling it out of her pocket and seeing a face she didn't really know that well, it was Rarity. Vinyl pressed the button on the screen before saying "Hey, it's Vinyl."

Vinyl then heard Rarity say "Oh well, hello darling. It's Rarity here and I was wondering if you knew where Octavia was. I've tried calling her several time but she never picked up."

"Ugh, she's going through some stuff and *sniff*......"

"Oh darling, have you've been crying? What's wrong?"

"Just some stuff with Octavia." "OH GOD, did you two break up?"

"No, listen I don't want to talk about it over the phone."

"Well then looks like I'll just have to come to your place. I'll be over in a few minutes, darling."

Rarity then hung up the phone and Vinyl dropped her phone on the ground before shoving her face back into the pillow. About ten minutes passed, then Vinyl heard a knock at her door. She didn't feel like getting up so she just screamed "It's unlocked."

Rarity opened the door and said "Vinyl, where are you, dear." Vinyl raised her hand over the couch and Rarity closed the door before walking over and sitting next to her and asking "Darling, what's wrong?"

Vinyl raised her tear soaked face and said sorrowfully "I don't know."

Rarity looked at her and said "Oh my god, you've been crying a lot more then I thought. But darling, what do mean you don't know?"

Vinyl wiped her face with her arm and said "I don't know. Just Octea has been acting really weird and creepy lately and her passion for music has turned into this crazy obsession. It's been like this for a while long before she was told to preform for this show, she just feels the obsessive need to create new and original music. She doesn't sleep, eat, nothing."

Rarity gasped as she said "Oh my, she needs help now."

Vinyl shook her head as she said "If we tried to get her help she'd need to see the therapist and talk to him and she would not want to do that willingly."

Rarity sighed and said "Well darling, do you want to talk her about it?"

Vinyl laughed to herself and said "You think I haven't tried. She doesn't want talk."

Rarity stood up and said "Then you make her talk to you. Come on, Vinyl. We're going to the concert hall to talk to Octavia."

Vinyl didn't want to ague so she just followed Rarity to the concert hall.

Rarity opened the front door to the concert hall and she heard creepy victorian style piano music. Rarity walked onto the stage and Vinyl followed her and the two saw Octavia playing the song on the piano. Rarity walked over to Octavia and said "Octavia darling, we would like to talk to you."

But Octavia didn't respond, she just continued to play her music. Rarity looked over at Vinyl then tapped Octavia on the shoulder but she still didn't respond. Rarity then started to get a little mad, so she grabbed Octavia's arm causing her to stop playing the piano and Rarity said "Darling, stop."

Octavia didn't move as she said in deep yet still somewhat like her old voice "Why have you disturbed me while I was playing my music?"

Rarity still held firm onto Octavia's arm as she said "We would like to talk to you. We think you have a problem."

Octavia suddenly twitched as she asked "What kind of problem?"

Rarity scoffed as she said sarcastically "What kind of problem?! You're addicted to playing music. Sure, your music is beautiful but this is ridiculous. Octavia, you sent your girlfriend into tears."

Octavia just sat silent for a second but then said "Well, if you'll like to talk then talk but let me play my music while you do so."

Octavia tried to pull her arm out of Rarity's grip but failed causing Rarity to tighten her grip. Octavia exhaled deeply as Rarity looked down at Octavia's arm and noticed a lot of blood was staining her sleeve. Rarity released her grip but Octavia just turned and continued playing her music.

Vinyl sniffed as she said quietly "Octavia, please just stop and come home. I want to be with you."

Octavia turned so one of her eyes could be seen by Vinyl and she said "I am home."

Vinyl looked up from her crying and looked into Octavia's eye but Vinyl saw fear and sadness in her eye. Octavia turned back to her piano fully and put all of her constriction back into playing. Rarity and Vinyl stayed there for a few minutes but Octavia didn't say anything more to them and her song never seemed to end. Rarity soon coaxed Vinyl into leaving and the two went their separate ways.

Months pasted and Octavia still haven't left that concert hall and the only reason she haven't died is because Vinyl would bring her three meal a day everyday and she would force her to eat them. Octavia never seemed to sleep, she just sat there playing a song she heard in her mind then she would write it down on paper then place the paper next to her in the large stack next to her piano. Every time Vinyl came to the concert hall to give Octavia food that stack grew and by now that stack was probably about three feet high. One day Vinyl walked into the concert hall and was surprised to hear no music was playing. She walked around back excepting to see Octavia passed out on her piano but she wasn't even near her piano and the stack of music sheets were gone. Vinyl looked around the room and saw that the door to the back room was opened so Vinyl walked in and saw Octavia stacking her music sheets into a butch of small stacks that seemed to form a box in the center of the room. Vinyl knocked on the door and Octavia looked back with one eye and said in that same deep voice "Your here with food again, aren't you?"

Vinyl sighed and said in her now depressed and tired tone "Yup."

Octavia turned her attention back to the stacks and said "Just place it on my piano. I'll eat it later."

Vinyl sighed as she did as she was told but walked back into the back room and said "Well, I know your not going to eat that so I'll bring you an early dinner but what are you doing?"

Octavia sighed as she said "I didn't want that stack of papers next to me anymore so I've moved them back here."

Vinyl rubbed her temples as she said "Oh okay. Well I know you want me to leave so I'll go."

Vinyl walked out the door and was about to walk off the stage but then she heard Octavia softy say in her normal voice "No, Vinyl. Don't leave."

Vinyl walked back to the back room and asked "What's wrong?"

Octavia turned her head slightly and asked "What do you mean?"

Vinyl rolled her eyes and said "You told me not to leave."

Octavia laughed softly and said "No, I didn't. Just go home."

Vinyl sighed as she walked off stage and walked out the door of the concert hall and went home.

Three week later, Vinyl walked to the concert hall and walked into the concert hall to see all the lights were off except the stage lights and no music was playing. Vinyl was a bit fearful because of the creepy environment but continued to the stage despite her fear. Vinyl walked over to Octavia's piano and noticed that the keys were covered which was highly unnatural. Vinyl placed the container of food she had for Octavia down and walked over to the back room to see if she was there. Vinyl opened the door and right as her eyes met Octavia's she fell to the ground crying. Vinyl looked up one more time to see if her eyes weren't lying to her and she was sad to know that it was all to real. Octavia was hanging over her large stacks of music sheet by a rope tied around her neck. Vinyl could stop crying as she walked over to Octavia's body and saw a note sitting underneath her.

Vinyl picked up the note and read it aloud "Dear Vinyl, I wanted you to know I've always loved you and I didn't want to do this but I just couldn't live having to deal with the pain I was going through. If you want to know more just read my music it will tell you everything you need to know."

At the bottom of the note was a butch of strange symbols with a letter written above each of them. Vinyl picked up one of the pieces of sheet music that was underneath the note and looked over it but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Vinyl looked over the sheet music again to see if she missed anything and she noticed a small black line with two dotes next to it written over the first note. Vinyl looked over Octavia's death note and saw written at the bottom was a matching black line with two dotes next to it but it had the letter D written over it. Vinyl looked at the second note written on the sheet music and noticed a circle with a line in the middle of it and she looked over at the note and saw that the symbol had a E written over it. Vinyl grabbed a blank sheet of sheet music and wrote down that letters that the symbols represented until she had written out a secret note.

It read "Dear Vinyl, if you are reading this that means you've figured out what the symbols meant which doesn't surprise me considering that your smart and I knew you could do it but let me get to the point of this letter. I wish I can tell you this in person but my music won't let me. My music is taking over me to the point I'm no longer able to control my own body, as you could probably tell by my actions throughout the pass months. The only way I can communicate with anyone is through the small symbols I wrote on each of the sheets of music that I play. My music is slowly taking control of me and it keeps playing these loud songs in my head causing me sever pain and it is taunting me causing me to slowly lose faith in my abilities as a musician. I just can't take this anymore I'm done. I love you Vinyl. Please forgive me."

Vinyl began to cry even harder as she looked up to Octavia's body and said the best she could "Why didn't you tell me?! I could ha-ve helped you! We could have went through this a-a-as a team!"

Vinyl fell to the floor and cried.

Pretty much all the sheets of music consist of love letters and day by day letters on how Octavia was feeling. How do I know this? Well because I was there and I was the one having the letters written to her and the one that's girlfriend died. Yup, it's me Vinyl Scratch. Now your probably wondering why I'm written this. That's simple because it's the day after Octavia died and I'm still sitting in the concert hall crying with Octavia still by my side hanging. No one has shown up yet and I haven't called anyone. But I'm written this because the police need some sort of explanation on why there are two dead women in the back of a concert hall. Why two women? Because the music is calling me, telling me to find Octavia.
