Long before the creation of the universe and all its wonders there was the void and the nexus; the nexus was a force of light and purity and the void was a force of malice and darkness; each force constantly in conflict with each other and neither strong enough to truly defeat the other with one being born from the death of the other. Over the eon's they'd battled and had chosen agents to take their power and battle where they could not and it was when the Nexus forged the elements of harmony and the stars of unity that they were together able to push back the darkness but not at the sacrifice of the stars powers to create the millions of stars that paint the galaxy, their light the only thing keeping the void at and its agents of chaos at bay.

But now over the eons the light of the stars has weakened enough and the darkness has amassed enough strength to make its way back toward the light but requires the negative emotions of disharmony in order to regain full power and thus to this end the void sends forth the spirits of chaos and darkness to find new hosts among the populace of the worlds where the elements and the stars exist: Equestria and Earth. Can the elements of harmony locate the stars and unlock their powers in order to light the darkness?
