It’s Hearts and Hooves Day! And that means I start the day off right with bringing mom breakfast in bed. At least, I would’ve if she was home. The academy will be open for students in about 2 to 3 more months, it doesn’t surprise me she’s swamped with work. I just really wish she was home more often. Wait, was that the front door? Mom! She’s back! Now we can spend Hearts and Hooves Day together like before!

Midnight, I know I said that this would be your own personal journal, and I apologize for writing in it without your permission; but I just wanted to say I’m sorry for being away for your lessons these past few days. You might be too young to understand, but the academy must be completed within the designated time I have been given. I know you’ve been annoyed with the fact that I’ve been ignoring your studies, however, this is not the case. I feel as though your ready for independent advanced studies, rest assured though, I will not leave all your studies up to you alone.

          Your my son Midnight, you mean all of Equestria to me; I don’t want you to ever feel like I’m not there for you. Even as I’m writing this, your fast asleep in my bed with your muzzle buried into my chest, just as you did when you were younger. You feel asleep just as I was beginning to sing you a lullaby, you never could stay awake until the end. Happy Hearts and Hooves Day Midi.
