Author's Note

Just letting you know the first part of this is a reflection then I will make a line similar to this

Also...I don't intend to have characters talk so long at once like they will in this chapter, in the future but this is the very beginning so Nick needs to learn the basics Equestria.
Finally I might be write a little of these on my phone sometimes so spacing might be weird every now and then... but I will do my best and fix the spacing first chance I get!
Also an editor would be nice.... so if you wanna do a newbie a favor just let me know via PM

Chapter 1

Nothing is more relaxing than enjoying Summer Break before the next school year. Especially when Summer Break is close to ending and it’ll be time to sit in class and spend much of your free time on homework. Heck when I woke up this morning I thought I was going to enjoy a normal breakfast with my family before going out to enjoy the last moments of my Summer Break with some friends.

But then I got dressed and stepped out of my room...

"Freeze! Don't you dare move." I heard a male voice coming from somewhere behind me so I turned to see what I could only describe as a group of white furred anthropomorphic ponies in armor that were holding swords and spears rushing towards me.

In response, to show I had no ill intentions, I raised my hands over my head and crouched onto my knees. Looking at the approaching creatures with wide eyes, I began to panic due to both confusion and fear.

"Stop scaring our guest, all of you!" a new, female voice yelled to the guards with a somewhat scolding tone, as if the guards were her children and her their mother. Both the group of ponies and me turned to see a tall white furred pony with an elegant golden crown on her head as well as a..horn…? She also had a cool multi-colored mane that seemed to continuously flow as if caught in a gentle breeze.. And thanks to being a high school male student, I noticed her F or possibly FF cup sized breasts held within her gorgeous white gown with golden etching. The guards, upon hearing her voice, quickly halted and kneeled before her and apologizing. “Return to your posts, I will take care of our guest here.” With a quick nod, the guards dispersed, returning to their original stations as they apologized and referred to the white mare as princess. The woman in front of me that I could only assume was royalty of some sort due to the recent exchange returned her attention to me. “Please, if you’d follow me.” Her voice was gentle and caring, helping me to calm down somewhat from the confusion and fear I was experiencing from everything around me.

She waved for me to follow her with a gentle smile, prompting me to get off my knees and cautiously approach her. As I walked with her down the hall, we came to a HUGE door that was opened for us by a pair guards, one on either side of the door. As we both entered the room behind the door I gazed around in interest at the large room. It was full of various tapestries and stained glass windows, the ceiling way above held by large marble pillars. While I took in my surroundings I failed to notice that the white mare had continued walking forward and had sat at a throne with a sun at the top of it. When I finally notice that she had seated herself on the throne and was patiently looking at me and waiting for me to speak, I quickly bowed now knowing she was royalty. I then said, "Your highness, I assume you wait for me to explain myself… but I hardly know where I even am or what your are."

The princess then looked at me with curiosity in her eyes and said, "Of course, I myself do not know what you are." She then adopted her friendly smile yet again, easing my nerves as I comprehended what to say. “If you would be so kind as to enlighten me who and what you are, I would be grateful.”

I took a breath to ready myself as I thought on what to say to her, "My name is Nick Fitzgerald and I am a human. And based on what I see around me I am no longer in my own world, Earth. I have no clue as to how I got here however whatever took me here also took my entire room and made it part of the castle. And based on my observations you are some sort of pony, possibly a herbivore, and since I want no misunderstandings between us I am an omnivore just like any other human.. I personally want you to know that I also know how to fight with bladed weapons such as a sword or knife as a sign of trust and that I wish no harm towards you or anything else. I also know a thing or two about hand- to- hand combat...at your service, your highness."

The princess responded by saying, "Thank you for telling me all of this about yourself and informing me of what you are. My name is Princess Celestia, the race of my kingdom and I are ponies just as you correctly observed. And of us ponies there are three kinds; the Earth Ponies which are very strong able to manipulate the land and great with agriculture, the Unicorns that are born with horns and able to utilize various spells and magic, and the Pegasi who are born with wings and the ability to fly and manipulate the weather. Of course there is somewhat a fourth though it is rare and mainly prominent in royalty, and that is the Alicorn which is what I am. Alicorns are born with the abilities and traits of all three kinds of ponies. The kingdom which I rule and you are currently in is called Equestria and is mostly ponies." She paused, giving me a bigger smile before she continued. “And don’t worry, I don’t think you are a threat. I can sense no dark intentions or powers within you.”

I bowed yet again before Celestia, “Thank you for trusting me your highness.”
“No thanks is needed, Nick, and I will look into how you came to this world. For now I think it is best that we keep the knowledge of your presence to a minimum. There is...a student of mine who is going to a town called Ponyville. She is a lavender colored unicorn and her name is Twilight Sparkle. Go with her, the small town is will be easier for you to keep a low profile than my castle.” Celestia than gave a quick chuckle. “However do be prepared, she can sometimes ask a lot of questions.”

"Okay, I’ll trust your judgement, you know more of this world than I do. Where should I meet her to leave?" I asked.

"Right outside of the castle, a flying carriage will be waiting for the both of you. I was actually sending her there today. I’ll have one of my guards show you the way."

I politely thanked her for her assistance and made my way out of the castle with the help of a guard. Celestia had also given me a note that she had written that basically said that I am ordered by Celestia to accompany Twilight Sparkle to Ponyville and that no guard is to deny me of this trip and if they do the princess shall personally and severely punish them. Once outside and beside the carriage, I took a seat within it and waited till I saw a lovely looking, lavender colored unicorn with an about size D chest walk out towards the flying carriage I was waiting in.

"Hello." I said in a calm and even tone as she approached the carriage hoping to come off as an friendly individual. However the unicorn nearly sprinted at me causing me to brace myself for possible impact as I expected her to tackle me, unfortunately what I could never have braced for was what felt like millions upon millions of waves of questions it felt like she was throwing at me. The ones that stuck to me the most were the ones like "How come you arrived in the castle of all places?" "How did you even get here, and where are you from anyway?" and "What do you plan on doing while you are here?" While Twilight assaulted me with questions, the carriage took off and we were flying in the skies as the Pegasus guard towing the carriage flew us. I would have been amazed and staring at the ground below if my attention wasn’t focused on comprehending the onslaught of questions from the mare beside me.

After a few minutes of trying to answer a single question I snapped and yelled, "AT LEAST GIVE ME TIME TO ANSWER A QUESTION BEFORE YOU ASK ANOTHER ONE!" at this Twilight would have jumped back...but we were in a flying carriage so she hastily scooted to the other side of the carriage.

After that we were both completely silent for what felt like hours, and feeling bad for my outburst I found myself being the one to end it. "...sorry about that, I was just annoyed and a little frustrated" I said, ashamed with how rude I had just been to the mare who was just overly curious for her own good. "Let me just tell you a short version of who I am Twilight, allright?"

"Yes!" said Twilight almost immediately, regaining her excitement at the prospect of learning something new.

"Ok...My name is Nick Fitzgerald and I am 19 years of age. I come from a world called "Earth" where my omnivorous species,humans, are the dominant species. Also, as far as how I got here...I honestly am as clueless as you are...one night I’m in my world sleeping in my bedroom then the next morning I wake up, get dressed, the walk out said bedroom door into a hallway with guards rushing towards me....does that satisfy you?....At least for now?"

"Yes! Thank you!" Twilight said very enthusiastically with a squee.

I noticed Twilight was finishing up on writing something in a notebook as she beamed a smile at me, spiking my own curiosity. "Hey Twilight...who are those notes going to.....Celestia?" I asked jokingly.

At this Twilight almost completely froze ".....How did you know?", she asked.

" ..I...I guessed." I said somewhat dumbfounded. The mood of the carriage was getting way too awkward for my taste so I decided to break the mood but then I noticed we were approaching a small town..

"Oh look, I think we reached Ponyville." I said feeling the awkwardness fade as we began a descent to land.
