Patholis passed out in pain yet woke up to pure bliss.
‘Must be the meds.’ he thought.
His vision was blurred yet was coming back to him. He found himself in a large white room. Similar to the room which he spent his first night in, only in size. Everything else was different, the walls where sterile white. His bed was the only piece of ‘normal’ furniture in the room. The rest was probably medical.
Blurred out lines of white shapes came into view, and then disappeared at the appearance of a large blue shape. This blue shape turned out to be none other than Princess Luna. She stood by Patholis’ bed with her head bowed.
Then she spoke.
‘I’m not sure if you can hear me but I have to say something. And I’m not sure if I can tell you if you were awake.’
‘Crap, should I ‘wake up’ or just lay here until she realises.’
‘Last night when I kissed you, I did it on an impulse. I regretted it; I thought that you would think me desperate. Kissing somepony after knowing them for a day. But it’s almost like I’ve know you for years.
‘Time to tell her.’ Patholis thought.
Patholis opened his eyes, shifted up to be on eye level with Luna. The expected expression of surprise, embarrassment on Luna's face did not surface.
Patholis extended a hoof to Luna, their hoof meeting when she did the same.
‘Luna it would be an honour, pleasure and an adventure for me to get to know you for years.’
Luna's expression changed from one of confusion to a mix of delight, joy and happiness.
Despite the cheesy nature of his previous sentence it seemed to have worked when Luna pulled him in for a long hug.
Having discharging himself from the royal infirmary, Patholis joined Luna in wandering around the castle. Talking about random topic of each other’s life. Walking a little closer than usual.
They decided to have lunch in one the cafes in Canterlot city. Its owner was ecstatic to have Princess Luna visit his café, but gave worried glances to Patholis.
They sat outside, under the shade of a red parasol.
Patholis took a good long look at the menu.
‘Ponies eat flowers?’
‘Yes but not me I’m on a diet.’
Patholis gave Luna a bland look.
‘So…no meat?’
‘Yeah, but this hayburger looks like meat.’
Patholis’ bland expression was replaced with a laugh, which Luna returned.
After ordering, attracting a lot of stares from the rest of the café, Patholis and Luna, minus her princess etiquette, dug into their food
.
‘So path,’ Luna was cut off by Patholis’ confused face. ‘Oh stop that it sounds cute. Anyway where are you from?’
‘Hell.’
‘Really? Hell with Satan and,’
‘I was joking.’
‘Oh.’
‘I’m from a place called the daemondom. It isn’t a place but rather a title. Somewhere can be part of it but there is no one place called the daemondom.’
‘So who is the king daemon?’
‘My old mentor but unlike the title suggests he’s not the king of ‘all’ daemons.’
‘Yeah, I remember reading about that. Isn’t it some kind of caste system?’
‘Yes. There are many castes, each living in its own part of the daemondom. Each caste, dimension, has its own king, leader, emperor or generalissimo.’
‘So what about this dimension?’
‘This one is different, it is protected.’
‘By who?’
‘What?’
‘Eh?’
‘Not who it’s what. No one is protecting this dimension. Something is.’
‘What is it? Some kind of artefact?’
‘Dunno,’ he said with a shrug of his shoulders.
‘You’re helpful.’ Luna said sarcasm levels over 9000.
They ate their food and left, after paying of course. They walked through the city, Patholis attracting a few more looks than Luna.
‘Why do they stare?’
‘There’s something in your mane.’
‘Really? Where?’
‘Nowhere,’ Luna said before a small giggle. ‘They stare because there’s only supposed to be two alicorns in the world.’ Luna said in a more grim tone than usual.
‘Why? Why only two?’
‘We’re both female… and sisters.’
‘Ah. But still I don’t like people staring at me.’
‘They’ll get used to you in time. We could do an official announcement?’
‘Prince Patholis certainly has a ring to it.’ Patholis said while nudging Luna.
‘Not like that, I…err…I mean you know, if you want to?’ said Luna, blushing, quieter than normal.
‘I’m only teasing… lulu.’ With that Luna's face turned bright red, mismatching horribly with her dark blue coat.
Having nearly spent the whole day wandering around the city, Patholis and Luna returned to the castle.
Where a certain white alicorn was waiting impatiently.
‘Where have you two been all day?’
‘Out.’ Luna said matter of factly.
‘Good night Pathlu.’
Patholis and Luna, having ignored Celestia's comment, went to bed.
‘Separate rooms!’ shouted Celestia.
