Chapter:2 Welcome to Equestria

Celestia had raised the sun hundreds of times…no thousands of times before. Every time she did she could feel those who looked upon sun, felt its warmth and thanked for its arrival. But this time something was different, she could feel something new feel the warmth of her sun. She couldn’t put her hoof on it but it bugged her all the way on the flight back to Chanterlot.
It was almost as if something alien had arrived in her Equestria.
After seeing the alicorn raise the sun Patholis pushed himself to his feet. One half of his basic tunic now wet due to the due covered grass.
He looked around seeing a long plain of grass extend on for miles. Two mountain ranges came close together but separated by this plain. On the horizon he could see trees and wildlife.
Next to him was a small body of water only the size of a pond you would find in the gardens of the fish lovers. He walked over to the pond; he got close enough to see his own reflection in the water. That was what he looked like now but in his right hand he held the larthorlite which would turn that reflection into a memory.
With a quick squeeze the energy within the black stone flowed into his body and with a second of blinding pain Patholis’ body started to change.
He woke. His vision was a daze and he felt lightheaded. He pulled his hand to press it against his forehead but what responded was not his hand but a grey hoof.
‘ARRGGG!’ Patholis knew what an alicorn looked like but to him it was still quite a shock. Quickly he turned his head to face behind him, he saw not what was behind him but.
‘Wings? A tail? A horn? What’s that?’ Patholis’ eyes were drawn from his grey wings and tail but to a small picture where the top of his back legs met his flank. As if a part of his skin was a half sun and half-moon as a crest on a shield.
‘Some one better explain this?’ He turned to the pond and realised he was talking to himself looked at his new reflection in the water. What looked back at him was a male alicorn with grey wings and tail plus coat.
‘It’s ok. Don’t panic everything is under control. It’s better this way if they see a daemon offering help they may misunderstand me.’ Patholis talked out loud to hear a smirk from his audience at his recent remark.
But none came for he had no audience, he was alone here in this world but he had a job to do.
It had been nearly an hour since Celestia had risen the sun but she still stood on the balcony where she landed. She looked out to the long plain below and while blocking out the dim of the hustle and bustle of Canterlot city, she tried to locate the alien in her world. Only to be interrupted by her sister Luna. Celestia had told her of what she felt but she thought it to be another of her sister’s ‘phases’.
‘Tia? What are you still doing out here, come in and have some breakfast.’
‘I can’t lulu, I just sense something weird. It’s like…’ Luna cut her off as she had heard this before.
‘There something new in the world and it’s alien and doesn’t belong here?’
‘Yes, it’s exactly that. I can feel something and I’m going to find out what.’
‘Well not without something to eat you aren’t.’
‘I’m fine; I’m not even hun…’ Celestia’s stomach rumbled in protest.
‘Looks like someone disagrees.’ Said Luna while playfully poking her sister ribs with her hoof.
‘Ok I’m coming in.’ Luna allowed her sister to go ahead to wait one more second on the balcony she too could feel the presence of something new.
After looking over his new body Patholis was quite impressed with the results. Big strong wings, but he didn’t know how to fly. Long powerful horn but he didn’t know any magic he was sure this body can perform. He looked at the pile of torn rags that was he previous attire and remembered the larthorlite.
Crap, how was he to take it with him. He looked at his hoofs.
‘How do they carry anything with these?’
Patholis was not sure if it was safe to carry the shard of rock in his mouth. So he tore the rags of cloth and made a kind of band which kept the larthorlite attached to his back right leg.
Now the only thing on his mind was his mission.
Now that alicorn flew off in the direction, over the mountain. How do I get there, walk? He looked at his wings neatly tucked in at the side of his body.
Yes defiantly walk.
The sun was about a quarter of the way in its journey over the sky.
So with his mission in mind he set off in the direction of the alicorn from before.
It being difficult at first now having four legs now. It reminded him of babies crawling on the floor. But he would have to get used to that as it was going to be his main form of transport from now on.
It had not been long for Patholis to find a dirt road leading to the right mountain range what the alicorn disappeared behind about two hours ago now. He didn’t mind the walking; it was not knowing where he was going which what was really getting to him.
Fate seemed to be almost stubborn as to not send anyone which Patholis could ask for directions or where he was for starters. He walked along the road for ages finally reaching the base of the mountain. He noticed that the road went around the mountain where a thin mountain road led along the range, until it turned right an unknown distance away.
The sun was in the centre of the sky now and was now unleashing it full heat at Patholis’ skin. Can I even get a tan? He thought. As the right turn approached he tried to think of what he will say to this ‘Celestia’ and ’Luna’ when he finally got to where ever they were.
Err hello I’m here to protect you so just let me do that and are we good? No he would have to plan how he was going to tell them.
Then he looked ahead to see the right turn was only a few metres ahead. He walked or trotted a little faster as he rounded the turn to see a small valley where the road had cut through the mountains. Then he stopped to see finally where he was going.
It was a city made of white rock. Towers rose up and seemed to stretch out over the cliff which the city is built on. The roofs where gold, domed and at their peak a flag waved carelessly in the wind. A water fall came down next to the city from the mountains. The water flowed under a lowed drawbridge which revealed a golden archway and raised portcullis.
That’s where they are. Finally Patholis could start on his new job as this world protector weather ‘Celestia’ or ‘Luna’ wanted his help or not.
