“Jacob! Wake up, you have school!” My Mom yells at my door to me, loud enough to wake a giant.
I let out a groggy grunt as I began to rise from my bed. I had gotten everything already ready for me to get ready for school. As always, I didn’t want to go, but I already missed too many days. As I finished combing my hair and brushing my teeth, I through on my trench coat and left for school. I wasn’t even outside of my backyard yet and I already felt the desire to lock myself in my room and read fanfics. As I walked to my school, my usual route was blocked by construction, so I had to find a different route. I then ended up at a park. It was late Fall so the trees were baran and brownish-red foliage covered the ground. I realized that if I took the walkway I would end up at the road to my school. I quick took a glance at my phone to see the time.
“It’s 6:58, I have time to take a quick walk.” I then walked past the trail and into the underwalk.
The underwalk was formed with stone and grass, and due to the season, was also covered by fallen leafs. I sat on a stone slab and pulled my sketchbook out of my bookbag.
‘I have some time to doodle.’ I thought to myself and turned to my recent sketch.
It was my own fan-pony. A unicorn stallion with a long, scarlet mane, a dark coat, yellow eyes, and a sharp, curved horn. (kind of like King Sombra’s). When I went to get my pencil, I noticed a small glimmer in the corner of my eye. About 20ft ahead of me was a faint, radiant glow, shining through a pile of leafs. I put my sketchbook back in my bookbag, and went to investigate.
The light was faint and small. I was surprised I was able to notice it. It looked like the source of the light was being muffled by the leafs piled on top of it. I hesitated but started to remove the leafs. As I removed each handful of the golden foliage the light was getting brighter and brighter. As I removed the last few leaves the light shown as bright as a star and burst into a bright aura around me so bright in fact I had to shield my eyes.
When I opened my eyes I looked around, adjusting my vision from the flash. To my astonishment, the park underwalk I was in was gone. The sky was brighter than before, the trees were lush and green, and the temperature felt like Spring rather than Fall.
My jaw dropped. “Why all of a sudden is this place so...peaceful?
I turned my head and saw I was sitting in front of a eerie looking forest, with roots covered in sharp thorns. As I looked at the forest more and more it started to look familiar.
“I swear I’ve seen this place somewhere…” The answer was on the tip of my mind, but I couldn’t piece it together. That was until I turned to my right, and suddenly the pieces came together.
“No. No this can’t be real. I must have passed out or something at the park. This must be a dream or something!” I said, barely containing my happiness at what I saw. I knew I recognized that forest, the beautiful scenery, and now this, this completed the puzzle.
“F-Fl-Fluttershy’s cottage! (gasp) then that means-” I could barely contain myself at what I was seeing. I then finished in a low, astonished tone.
“Ponnyville!”
I must have been really excited, because then the next thing I remember was everything going black. My last thought was,
‘Wow, I’m not being very manly right now…’
