A Fight Scene
Previous ChapterNext ChapterA Fight (just because)
Dark Stalker spread his wings and took a stance. His brown wings, armed with wing blades that were sharpened to beyond a razors edge, stood still in the breeze.
Light Wind stood on the grassy hill, peering through a scry portal he’d made, watching the the pegasus flutter his wings and prepare to take flight for him.
Testing a basic spell, Light Wind snapped a blade of grass at the ground level and canceled the scry spell. He peered at the blade of grass and tore it to shreds, letting its pieces float away in the breeze.
The starlit sky was peaceful, as was Light Wind’s mind. He let his ears twitch at the random sounds of the night life lived around him.
The memory of his sister began to form in his mind as a noise caught his ears, focusing them both behind him.
Without moving he lowered his head to take a bite of grass as Dark Stalker swooped in low. With a spin his wings he sliced through the grazing form of Light Wind, flailing as he flew through the image and glided along the grass.
The sound of air being displaced startled him, as he looked up Light Wind fired a blast of mana at the shadowed pegasi.
With a grunt and flap Dark Stalker turned and let his right wing slice the grass and into the dirt as he angled up and spiraled toward the falling unicorn.
With a green flash Light Wind disappeared from view.
Dark Stalker’s eyes caught the return flash across the wildflower fields, nearly a half mile away.
Light Wind blinked and sighed at the thought of missing a target. He backed a nearby bush and winced at the thorns that hurt his leg.
With a smirk he yanked it from the ground and held it behind him and waited for Dark Stalker to attack again.
A minute later the pegasus’ silhouette flew overhead, blotting out Light Wind’s favorite constellation before diving silently, like an angel of death.
Twirling the bush, Light Wind threw it at Dark Stalker with a grin that turned to shock as the bush flew through the air where he should have been.
With a sudden shout Dark Stalked backed Light Wind from the side, sending him rolling several times and coughing hoarsely.
“What the-- How’d you-?”
A right hook to the face sent Light Wind to the ground spitting blood as a tooth fragment as his head hit the firm earth.
A flash of green light from Light’s horn pulsed, sending Dark flipping back several lengths before his wings opened and he stopped mid flight. He sneered at the unicorn in the shield.
Standing and wincing at the taste of blood in his mouth, Light Wind yelled, sending his shield into the form of a square ahead of him he charged ahead.
“Heh,” Dark Stalker mumbled before zipping ahead and striking the smaller shield. His wings clanged and dinged against it as both ponies held their stances as Dark landed and flexed his wings.
