Tough Luck

The purple baby dragon dusted his claws as he slid in the last book on the shelf. With a sigh, he turned his scaly back against the wall of books, and headed for the kitchen to retrieve some gems. His alicorn friend then trotted upstairs, inspecting the bookshelves. She adjusted a book, then smiled, eyes locked on a certain book.

"Spike, can you get that?" Twilight asked, hearing the book from downstairs vibrate loudly. Spike grumbled, mouth full of red gems, as the assistant opened the magical book.

"It's from Shunshet," Spike tried, gulping down a load of gems. Twilight winced in disgust, then trotted over to the book.

Not long later, after answering a three page-long response to her friend in the human world, Twilight sat on her rump and eyed the same book her eye had been caught on earlier. With her magic, she levitated the book from the shelf, then opened it with her hoof. The book was stolen from warriors in Equestria that had taken the book from the other world. It was given as a gift to Twilight from Celestia herself, and the lavender alicorn's had been extra careful with it. It was labeled "Bronycon", which bothered her a lot, since the word had been mentioned many times on Earth.

Feeling absolutely worthless, Twilight headed for bed, sleeping on the book. Literally.

Something pressed against her chest. She was sure of it. Something soft and silky, like her fur, yes fur! And... A little muscular, though the figure resting on her chest seemed tense, like in a trace. No, sleeping? Or was it just Twilight's imagination...

"Wakey, sleepyhead!" Rainbow called, startling the sleeping mare.

Twilight popped open her eyes, then huffed. Rainbow Dash sat upon her furry chest, smiling in a weird, yet cute manner. Her hooves then lifted off Twilight's chest, into the air, landing around her neck in an adorable bear hug.

"Finally, you're awake!" The raspy voice cheered. Twilight playfully rolled her eyes, then hugged back. Rainbow released her grip soon enough, grinning. A knock came from the bedroom door as it slowly and carefully opened.

"S-sorry to interrupt, but, um, Twilight called me here last night, and... I, um came... Sorry I'm late," a yellow pegasus apologized, hanging her head as usual. Out of nowhere, a pink earth pony popped from the ceiling.

"ME TOO!" She yelled in usual happiness, jumpscaring the mares in the room. Rainbow flicked her tail, turning her gaze to Pinkie, now on the floor.

"Not cool," Rainbow huffed, folding her hooves. Pinkie smiled wider, putting a pink hoof over Rainbow's back.

"Yeah, I get that a lot. So, what are you doing Saturday?" Pinkie smirked, Rainbow tensing again.

"Girls, focus! I called you all here for something very, very important!" Twilight stated, stomping a hoof. The ponies turned their gaze towards the former unicorn who sighed.

"We're going to travel. A place with many places to, well, see!" Twilight stated, Rainbow perking up. She grinned again.

"Many new species and creatures to see and meet," Fluttershy then took her turn to smile.

"Oh, How lovely!"

"Tons of food, drinks, and friends to meet," Twilight stated, staring at Pinkie Pie, then turned to the book beside her hooves.

"AND, so many new things to learn and see!" Twilight said, hovering over her bed. With her magic, she once again levitated the book, turning to page 36. With her horn glowing, the others shielded their eyes, then found themselves floating above the floor. Blue and purple swirls surrounded the four, as Twilight's eyes went glowing white, and their element forms over their heads. A white orb engulfed the book, which dissapeared in magic, the ponies being sucked into the book, too. The magic stopped, seconds after Spike entered the room in awe.

"So..... They're ALL alicorns now?"

The light vanished, the quartet landing in front of a building, on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. Rainbow was the first to become conscious again. The sight before her was enough to wake her in a sleeping spell.

"G-guys, look!" Rainbow pointed to a crowd of two-legged 'ponies' walking about. The other three opened their eyes wide, Twilight giggling a bit.

"Oh, Rainbow. They're dressed as ponies, not a pony! It's called "Bronyism", I think. Fans of our show," Twilight stated scratching her muzzle with a hoof. Rainbow smiled
