Despite the element's victory over Nightmare Moon, the nightmare entity remained. It roams over Equestria in search for a new host to possess, a host filled with hatred and anger, for if she did not find one it's power will fade away forever.
Luna was no longer an option because the hatred she once had was gone.

One day it found a Unicorn Colt named Odium.
He is in his adolescent years, his coat color is dark magenta and his mane is a Mohawk and it's color is black with magenta stripes.
He lived with his parents in an old cabin near the Everfree Forest and had lived there ever since he was a child. His mother was extremely abusive but his father was always their to help whenever he was hurt or scared.

However his father seemed to have just vanished on his 11th birthday and since his disappearance Odium's mother was more abusive then ever.
Odium hated his Mother. He hated being abused and he hated his dad for leaving him when he heeded him.

Every time the sun rises all he could do is hopes he doesn't die and when the sun sets he tries to think of ways to escape the monster that is his mom. But Odium knew it wasn't her fault she was like this, she had been taking a brew that was made to relief stress but it ended up changing her, she was once a sweet and kind mare but now she's a completely new mare. Despite that, Odium couldn't help but hate his mother no matter how much he'd deny it.

This colt is exactly what the nightmare entity needed.
