The Shades

Twilight was walking back home at midnight. Pinkie Pie had had a late party but Twilight had to get back home to study. As she got near the library she could've sword she saw something in the shadows moving away from her home. A slight uneasiness struck her. She heard whispers. Faint but consistent. They were saying her name Twilight.... Scared, the mare galloped into her home. "Spike?" She called. No response. He must be asleep... she thought. She noticed a strange book fallen from the shelf. Thats strange... I've never seen this book before. It had a picture of a grey, stone-like pony with glowing yellow eyes. "That's ominous" She said to herself. She had dismissed the whispering and the thing in the shadow as some sort of hallucination caused by having no sleep. The mare. opened the book which seemed to have one page no matter how many she flipped through. It was just three lines at the top of the page. Do not run. Do not hide. Go to sleep. She looked at the bottom to some sort of check list with a bunch of names. Names of her friends and people she knew. It was in an order. Spike, Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkamena Diane Pie--- If it has Pinkie's full name, it must've been someone close to her that wrote this Twilight though. She kept reading. Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle. Each name had a box next to it. Spike's was the only one with a check. Suddenly fear struck her. Had something happened to Spike. She ran upstairs quickly in her half asleep state. After going upstairs she saw Spike underneath his blanket. She collapsed on to her bed.

Twilight woke up yawning. She ran over to her bedside and sighed as she saw Spike's shape still underneath his blanket. "Spike! wake up!" She shook him. She sighed and pulled down his blanket. She puked. Spike was lying in his bed with his eyes ripped out, blood pouring. His entrails were gone from a gap in his body. Twilight broke down sobbing.
