Today's the Day
Rainbow Dash paced outside Twilight Sparkle's castle. Her mind raced. "Should I..." she mumbled. "No, I can't... Maybe..." Her fingers were moving rapidly around each other. She sighed and opened the door. "Today's the day." She said quietly. She marched down the hall placing one hoof in front of the other. "Today is the day!" she said assertively, trying to push all thoughts of future guilt away. She looked around. Where would Twilight be? Re-shelving her thousands of books? In the kitchen making a snack? Taking a nap? Reading? Rainbow ran around looking into every room she saw. Then she heard a thud at the other end of the hall. She raced toward the sound. "Twilight?" She asked. "Hey Rainbow!" Spike said. He was a kid, about 10 years old. Rainbow was 17 but still considered Spike one of her best friends.
"Sup! You know where Twilight is?" She asked.
"Yeah, what do you need her for?"
"I needed to ask her a question and it's really important and I need to tell her now." She said, getting slightly impatient.
"Can you just tell me? I know where she is."
"I want to ask her personally."
"Okay. Take a right. Third door on the left."
"Thanks!" She said already rounding the corner.
She didn't want to wait any longer. She wanted to know if Twilight shared her feelings. She was going to ask her. Rainbow exhaled and opened the double door Twilight was sitting at a desk reading a book. Rainbow approached her and smiled. "Hello... Um... I wanted to ask you something."
Twilight looked up and stuck a bookmark into the book's pages. She looked into Rainbows eyes. This was Rainbow's chance. "Would you... go out with me?" Rainbow blushed and looked at her hooves. Twilight stood up and said softly "I was waiting for you to ask that question for the longest time." She swiftly put her hands on Rainbow's shoulders and their lips touched. Rainbow felt as if she was struck by lightning. Twilight was the smartest pony in Ponyville and she was Rainbow's new girlfriend. After a year of wishing and hoping, Rainbow finally was able to consider Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship, her girlfriend.
