After a mysterious force disrupts the aurora over the Crystal Empire, a powerful unicorn arrives from a foreign land, and threatens to disrupt the lives of not just the Crystal Ponies, but everypony in Equestria.
A mysterious blast of magical energy is seen tearing through the sky over the frozen north. Shining and a squad of Crystal Guard head out onto the Tundra to try and find it's source.
They discover not something, but somepony, somepony from "far away". And this strange intruder carries with him what Shining can only interpret as a grave threat.
