Storm clouds
Prince Sun Dancer was six years old he was with young prince blue Blood. They were both trotting back to the palace coming from school with two guards trotting along by them. Prince Sun Dancer with his blue eyes, messy purple and black mane with his shaggy tail and he was smiling. Prince blue blood with his perfect blonde mane and matching tail, but his blue eyes focused on the cobbled street.
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “I can’t believe I got a ninety on today’s test.”
Prince Blue blood sighed, “Good for you. I got seventy I barley passed.”
Sun Dancer replied, “Maybe you should study more?”
Prince blue blood looked at Prince Sun Dancer then said, “I do study.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “Really?”
Prince Blue Blood turned his head “Well on top of performing my duties as a prince I have to keep my appearances.”
Prince Sun Dancer rolled his, “Well if you need help all you have to do is ask.”
Prince Blue Blood replied, “Why do you always help ponies?”
Sun Dancer shrugged then said “Hey remember when you got your cutie mark?”
Prince blue blood smirked “It was my first real galloping gala. I learned the names of all the royal stallions and mares, shook hooves, and presented myself, as I should. While you act a fool with Ocean Breeze,”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “Sorry but learning names and presenting myself is the last things on my mind.”
Prince blue blood replied, “It’s not about that night.”
Prince Sun Dancer looked at prince Blue Blood, “No it’s not about that night. I can’t even remember anything that happened that night. It’s about finding my cutie mark. I mean I’m good at school but I’m horrible with magic and your better at being a Prince then me.”
Prince Blue blood smiled, “I wish I had that to worry about. My mom is going to kill me when she hears my grades.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “Hey we still got the weekend though.”
Prince blue blood sighed, “Yeah we do, my mom is going to teach me how to actually dance.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “I was thinking of learning something too.”
They came upon the front doors of the palace and then they came through Princess Celestia was on her throne she smiled as prince Sun Dancer galloped to her.
She smiled and picked him up. “How was school?”
He replied “It was great I got a ninety on my test.”
She snuggle him, “That’s amazing.”
Then she looked at young prince Blue Blood he sighed and crawled up the stairs.
Then prince Sun dancer looked at his mom, “Well anyways I wanted to ask could I learn how to fight…”
100 years later....
Prince Sun Dancer woke in his bedroom, it had white walls his bed was huge with a giant blue blanket over it and his white carpet underneath a large window on the east wall gazed over the side of the palace. He was a lot older his blue eyes looked on the ceiling. His shaggy purple and black mane fell over his face. He was in shape with a stern chin and as he climbed from his bed, he looked in his side mirror and then sees his cutie mark a sword and shield with the sun and moon behind it. He looked up at his sword on the top of his room. It had a silver hilt and the pommel had a sun emblem on it. He also had a closet on the right side of the room. He goes across the room and goes inside his private bathroom he come out after taking a bath and combed his shaggy mane a bit, Then he opened his closet and started to dress up in his blue armor he placed it on piece by piece. He then lifted the sword off the wall with his magic and thrust it in a sheath on his side then he closes the closet and looks back at his mirror. He looks up smiled then opens the door and then closes it. He then see’s prince Blue Blood smiling in his perfect suit
He replied “Prince Sun Dancer you look more like a soldier then a prince.”
Prince Sun dancer rolled his eyes then said, “Thanks, you must feel great being a spoiled prince.”
Prince Blue blood said. “Please prince Sun Dancer we may be family but you still need to treat me with respect.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “The day I treat you respect is the day I grow two horns.”
He then started to trot down the steps and goes to to the dining room he then sits down together and toast with pancakes drizzled with syrup. Then he looks up to see princess Celestia come in she sits down across from him and eats her breakfast as well.
She replied“ You look handsome in that armor.”
He rolled his eyes and said “thanks mom,”
Princess Celestia replied, “I’m sorry to put this on you but I’m swamped here with trying to keep the budget steady.”
Prince Sun dancer smiled “It’s nothing just strange weather in our biggest settlement. Manehatten they’re calling it.”
Princess Celestia nods and said, “I like the pun.”
Sun Dancer then said, “Well I’ll find the source then I’ll report to you and see if we can fix it somehow.”
She then said, “Hopefully you’ll be back for your birthday party.”
He sighed and said, “I’ll be one hundred and five.”
She then said, “You say that as if it’s a bad thing.”
Prince sun dancer then said, “I just wish Ocean breeze was here to enjoy my birthday with me.”
Princess Celestia then said, “I’m sorry.”
He looked at her then said, “No I’m sorry I’m trying to cope.”
As he finished his breakfast.
Princess Celestia replied, “When Sugar Cube died I felt the same way but what hurt worst was Nebula’s death. I remember her coming in every day showing off her new tricks she learned. Then she grew older and all I could do was watch.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said, “Let’s not talk about it anymore.”
Princess Celestia replied, “Sun Dancer you need to learn to cope with her death and move on.”
Prince Sun Dancer looks back at her and said, “Alright, I’ll try.”
He then finished his coffee then places the mug back on the table with his magic.
He looked at Princess Celestia then said, “don’t invite to many ponies to the party.”
Princess Celestia laughed, “I’ll try.”
He gets up and then circles the table and hugs her then she hugs him back then he gets up and goes through the doors and back through the throne room.
Prince Blue Blood was waiting for him and said “You at least deserve a proper send off.”
Prince Sun Dancer hugged him he groaned
Prince Sun Dancer said “stop being so perfect you overgrown sunflower.”
He then separates himself.
Prince Blue blood replied, “You should at least have an escort.”
Prince Sun dancer then said, “If my mother gave me an escort I would just ditch them anyways.”
Prince Blue Blood rolled his eyes and said, “You’re a horrible prince you know that.”
Prince Sun Dancer looked back then said, “Well that’s why you’re here. To make up for what I’m not.” Then prince Sun Dancer went through the doors stretched out looks at the sun and flies into the sky.
A few days pass and he ends up at the entrance to the front sign that said Manehatten here he trots through and see’s the log cabins lining the path. Mostly earth ponies were growing fresh crops of corn fruit vegetables and wheat and barley.
They bowed as he past he smiles then said “Then storm clouds past over and then the rain came down. It poured hard then a Pegasus flew in and bows he has a coat was a light orange with orange eyes and a messy light red mane and tail with a cutie mark of a scroll and a tree growing behind it.
He shouted, “Prince Sun Dancer.”
Prince Sun Dancer bows then said, “Yeah that’s me.”
The pegasus takes out his hoof then said, “I’m Sunset.”
Sun Dancer then said, “So can we talk somewhere that’s not so wet.
“ He nods then leads him into one of the cabins. Then they enter and here in a small cozy cabin with a small hearth and a rocking chair and a cozy red couch then he sees a filly he’s red with a brown mane and green eyes.
He smiled and said “Daddy!”
He flies into Sunset’s hooves he kisses his head then said “Hey Bright Orange how are you doing?”
He then said, “Okay but mommy is still sick.” Sun
Set then said, “She’s going to get better but we got to be patient okay?”
He looks over to Sun Dancer then said “Your prince sun uh.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “I’m prince Sun Dancer.”
Bright orange smiled and said, “Are you really a Prince?”
Sun Dancer then said “Yep.”
Sunset sighed then said “Bright orange I’m sorry but you need to go to your room.”
He frowns then said “Why?”
Sunset then said, “Me and Sun dancer have some grown up talk. Look after we talk I’ll play chess with you.”
He then said, “Okay but I’m white this time.”
Sunset said, “Alright now go finish your homework.”
He nods, “Okay.”
He goes off down the hall Sunset sat down then sun Dancer sat down across from him then said “So I’m guessing that rain wasn’t natural.”
Sunset shakes his head then said, “This rain has been going on since we came here for no reason. Our pegasi here try to clear the skies but to no avail."
Sun Dancer replied, “I don’t see anything wrong. I kind of thought it would be wendigoes.”
Sunset shakes his head then said, “Every pony here is doing fine. We are building a stock with new crops we're raising cattle as well.”
Sun Dancer nods then said, “I can try to check the clouds themselves.”
Sunset replied, “No are you crazy! you could be fried by lightning.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “Well it might just be something simple. If not i’ll write to my mo... I mean princess Celestia and she will fix the problem.”
Prince Sun Dancer got up then said, “Look I’ll do it right now.”
Sunset then said, “Wait, are you sure?”
Prince Sun Dancer took off his helmet and placed it on the floor and let his mane fly loose then opened the cabin door and then he closed it behind him then flew into the sky. He flew up into the dark clouds. The strange echo like a far off cry then he turned and saw a town in the clouds like an image then he felt a intense heat and then he saw the lightning bolt come in and then he felt the ground coming to meet him he banked hard and braced then he felt the dirt met his face.
Sugar cube stood over Sun Dancer he was eight now he had fire in his eyes with his practice sword in his magic. Sugar Cube held his practice sword in his teeth sugar Cube was older with his white spiky mane with his white tail curled upward. Then he attacked Sun Dancer who blocked his blow for blow. Sun Dancer then sent the sword downward and then he sent a small blast of magic pushing him back then Sugar Cube flipped to the side.
Prince Sun Dancer held the practice sword on Sugar Cube’s neck and said “Yield.”
Sugar Cube got up and said “Alright.”
Then sugar Cube’s smile grew wider. Sun dancer who was sweating and his tail and mane was messy with his eyes full of focus then said, “What?”
Sugar cube then said “Your rear.”
Sun Dancer turned his head then saw the cutie mark; the sun and moon over a sword and shield.
Sun Dancer laughed and flew into the sky and shouted, “I got it!”
He then flew on the ground.
Sugar Cube got up and said, “I’m proud of you.”
Sun dancer flew back down then said, “You weren’t going easy on me were you?”
Sugar Cube shakes his head and said “Your good Sun dancer. I wasn’t using my full strength but your good.”
Sun dancer replied “Sugar Cube what does my cutie mark actually mean?”
Sugar Cube then said, “You want to protect others that’s who you are.”
Sun Dancer then said “Sugar Cube. I tried to talk about my dad with my mom she told me she’ll tell me when I’m ready. What does see mean?”
Sugar Cube bowed to him then said “Your like him and she’s scarred you’ll… look she just means that she wants you to grow have fun and take life a little less seriously.”
Sun Dancer then said, “Alright, I heard you had a new filly! “
Sugar Cube then said, “Yeah I did her name is Butter Cup.”
Sun Dancer then said, “Could I see her.”
Sugar Cube replied, “Well your mom wanted it to be a surprise later.”
Sun Dancer then said, “I’ll keep it a secret.”
Sugar Cube laughed and said “alright come on go take a bath and get yourself cleaned up.”
Sun dancer then galloped out of the garden….
Sun Dancer woke again on the ground with the rain falling on him.
He looked up at Sunset who then said, “Are you okay?”
He sighed, “Yeah I’m fine.”
He gets up and then he flexed his wings, “There is something wrong here.”
Sunset then said “The south east part of town.”
Sun Dancer then said, “Why you know something?”
Sunset then said, “Come in side.”
He trots inside the cabin with Sun Dancer then the wife came from the the kitchen. She was an earth pony with a light green mane that fell around her shoulders with brown eyes, a light brown coat, and a cutie mark of an ear of corn surrounded by a circle of barley and wheat.
Sunset then rushed over to her then said, “Honey Wheat what are you doing out of bed?”
She then said, “I’m sick, not impaired I just wanted to see the young prince.”
She bowed then Prince Sun Dancer replied, “That isn’t necessary.”
She looked up then said, “Well at least I know my courtesies.”
Orange bright came from behind her then said, “I told you mommy prince Sun Dancer he’s so cool he flew into the storm.”
Sun Dancer smiled, “And I don’t think I’ll do that again anytime soon.”
He flexed his wings again. Then as he folded them back again then Sunset kissed his wife and said “Could you take Bright orange into your room what I have to talk about isn’t for fillies.”
She turned to Orange Bright, “Orange bright go in your room and I’ll be there to play chess alright?”
He laughed and said, “Okay I’ll set it up.”
He galloped away then she sat on the chair then she coughed then said, “I’m sorry I didn’t mean..”
Sun Dancer then said, “its fine you can take it I’ll stand.”
Sun Set said, “So you saw a vision”
Sun Dancer then said “More like a shape in the clouds a town but it was shattered and broken.”
Sunset then said “The east side of town.”
Honey wheat’s eyes grew wide, “No not there.”
Sun Dancer replied, “Tell me what happened?”
Sunset looked up and said, “Only my wife believes me but I swear I saw ghosts.”
Sun Dancer then said, “Keep going this storm is unnatural I felt it since I came here.”
Sunset nods, “When we first settled here we found a small abandoned town here already we call it east town. The thing is the ground is covered in ash and soot and nothing grows. We stayed away from it. I went there a couple of times trying to figure out what happened who settled there then .. I saw .. a pony with no fur just pink bloody skin its eyes were gone, its mouth was sown shut, and its ears were chopped off. It just stood there, then more came, no noise came from them either. I galloped out of there I didn’t stop until I reached the edge of town. I tried to tell others but they didn’t listen to me most laughed others thought I was just joking. My wife is the only one who believes me.”
Honey wheat added “we’ve been together for ten years now and I never saw him so scarred in his life. I donn't know if he saw a ghost...but he saw something.”
Then Sun Dancer said, “I’m going to write to my mot.. I mean princes Celestia and tell her what you saw then she’ll give me direction on our next move.”
He nods “Thank you.”
Sun Dancer then took a small pot of ink a quill and some paper and wrote his note to princess Celestia then he had teleported it.
Orange Bright came back in and said, “Who wants to play chess!”
Sun dancer got up and said, “I’ll give you a shot.”
Orange Bright then said, “Are you any good?”
Sun Dancer replied, “You bet I am, I used to beat Ocean..”
He paused and muttered, “Alright let’s go.”
He trotted off with Orange bright into his room then the whole family with Sun Dancer played chess the rest of the night.
As Honey Wheat tucked her son in his bed Prince Sun Dancer laid out his bedroll on the ground, then a letter appeared and then Sun dancer read it then placed it in his saddlebag with his magic. He then stripped off his armor and laid it neatly against his bedroll then with his magic placed his sword on the wall then he turned to Sunset.
Sunset replied, “You liked my stew?”
Sun Dancer nodded, “It was delicious thank you.”
Sunset then said, “Thank you.”
Sun Dancer replied, “Princess Celestia gave me her advice. She wants me to investigate and then when I find out that what you saw was something supernatural and real then I’m to report to her and she’ll come with the elements of harmony.”
Sunset then said, “You think they will help?”
Sun Dancer replied, “Hopefully, if whatever is causing there to be ghosts in this abandoned village then we can destroy it and maybe it will stop this unnatural weather as well.”
Sunset bowed,“Thank you.”
Sun Dancer then said, “Please stop bowing.”
Sunset got up then said “You know when I heard a prince was coming I never expected you would be so..”
Sun Dancer replied, “Different? Yeah I get that a lot. I don’t see myself any different from others. I try to keep a certain appearance but I really don’t like ponies treating me differently just because my mom is princess Celestia.”
Sunset then said, “You can’t just say she’s your mom?”
Sun Dancer then said, “Technically in a formal setting I need to call her by her title. But to me she will always be my mom.”
Sunset chuckled “How sweet of you?”
Sun Dancer then said, “Don’t think I’m too sweet.”
Sunset laughed, “From your attitude I doubt it. “
He then trotted down the hall then said “Good night.”
Sun Dancer bowed and replied “Good night.”
Sun Dancer got under his bedroll then he looked at ceiling, sighed, and said “Good night mom.”
He then fell asleep.
chapter 2 a past in the mist
Chapter 2
“a past in mist.”
Sun Dancer woke to Orange Bright crawling next to him.
Sun Dancer smiled then orange bright said, “How old are you?”
Sun Dancer then said “One hundred and four.”
Orange Bright then said, “No way you’re lying.”
Sun Dancer then said, “Nope.”
Orange Bright then said, “Well if you’re more than a hundred years old you’re older then my grandpa and grandma.”
Sun Dancer nods then said “Yep.”
Orange Bright then said “Is it cool to be so old?”
Sun Dancer looked at orange bright then said “Yeah a little.”
Orange bright replied, “Well I just wanted to know is it okay for me to be your friend?”
Sun Dancer then said “Yeah its fine.”
Orange bright came over and hugged Sun Dancer’s head then said, “Thank you for playing chess with me.”
Sun Dancer smiled and replied “No problem.”
Orange Bright galloped away then Sun Dancer got up and he yawned. He then placed on his armor piece by piece then he placed his sword on his side. He then saw Honey wheat come in she was smiling as she sat down on the couch she placed small tea set down on the small wooden table. With two small cups, she poured the small teapot over the two cups. She then sat down with her cup of tea in her hooves sun dancer sat across from her she then said, “I’m sorry if my son bothered you.” Sun Dancer then said, “No it’s fine.” He sat down across from her then lifted the other cup with his magic and drank it.
He then said, “He’s a nice filly.”
She replied, “He’s so curious about everything. He sometimes sneaks out it scares me half the time. I worry he might get lost.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “I used to be just like him, curious full of energy.”
She then said, “So you really are princess Celestia’s son?”
He nods then he drank more tea she then said, “How was she as a mother?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “She was amazing. She was always there for me. She scolded of course when I was wrong but she was kind as well and forgiving. When I had a problem, I could talk to her and she would always stroke my mane. I liked it when she does that.”
Honey wheat sarcastically replied , “She sounds wonderful.”
He looked up then said “Orange bright is lucky to have a mother that cares as much as you.”
She looked up and smiled then said, “I try.”
She then sipped more of her tea.
She then said, “So your heading out to east town today.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said, “I need to take a care of this problem. All this rain with no sunlight is bad for your crops.”
She looked up then said, “You have to be careful.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “I will.”
He opens the cabin door to the pouring rain outside closes it softly behind him. He then flies out into the sky.
He comes to a dirt path leading to an old bridge that crossed a large ravine. The wood was rotting and pieces were falling apart.
Sunset flew down and said “sorry but you’re not going there without me.”
Prince Sun Dancer smirked then said, “You sure you’re ready?”
Sunset nods then they start to cross the bridge sun Set then looked down and saw a small river rushing underneath them.
Sunset then said, “This Bridge gives me the creeps.”
Sun Dancer looked ahead and soon a mist started to come in.
Sunset muttered “Just great.”
Sun Dancer suggested, “We can fly across.”
Sunset replied, “Not with this rain it’s too risky.”
Sun Dancer replied, “You said you came here before?”
Sunset replied, “I did but not with this much rain and this mist."
Prince Sun Dancer folded his wings to his side, “We trot slowly"
They start crossing the bridge together. Sunset and Sun Dancer started to trot over the bridge then they heard voices
“Kill them they betrayed us. Used us destroyed us.”
It echoed over and over. Then he saw the image of a shadow then he heard the roar
A monster tore through the bridge the monster had tentacles all over his body and it’s head was turned backwards. It started to crawl at Sun Dancer and he flew into the sky. He then saw Sun Set do the same and they tried to fly backwards but then a giant brick wall was blocking them and the monster was now crawling across the bridge with half of its body a mass of tentacles then Sun Dancer flew across the sky with rain pelting both him and Sunset. They dodged the attack from the monster, and then Sunset was hit by one of the tentacles and was falling into the ravine below. Sun Dancer then flew at him and then he caught him with his teeth by his neck. Then flew to the side of the cliff and slammed his sword through the side of the cliff. Sun Dancer held on with his magic he turns his head to the monster, it was standing on the bridge then it collapsed and then it fell into the pit. As it grossly maneuvered its body and was readying itself to start climbing the side of the cliff, Sun dancer used his magic to lift Sunset’s body over the cliff onto high ground then Sun Dancer turned to the beast then he lifted his sword with his magic and then he flew down to attack the creature. He dodged the twirling tentacles and then slammed his sword through the neck then he flew in the air high enough to dodge retaliation from the beast then it spoke “False gods, false pride. We are one we don’t need. We are one we don’t need. Then the neck fell and then a blast of tentacles wrapped around Sun Dancer he screamed as he felt his body being pulled down then he took the sword and then he slashed through the tentacles and he screamed as he slashed and slashed he bit and tore. He had flashbacks of his mom ocean breeze, prince Blue blood.
He shouted, “I’m not going to die!”
He slammed the sword into the heart of the beast then the tentacles lost their grip then he flew up through the mist and then he clambered onto the dirt then he saw Sunset he dragged Sun Dancer across the ground and they both enter an abandoned hut. It was dirty and broken with no furniture only a small wooden room.
Sunset closed the door as sun Dancer galloped to the corner of the room then he collapsed on the ground then Sunset went over to
Sun dancer replied, “Are you okay?”
Prince Sun Dancer nods and said “I need to catch my breath.”
Sunset looked over Sun Dancer his armor was dented but other than that he was okay.
He then laid his head back then said, “What the hell happened."
Sunset then said, “I don’t know. I never saw that creature before.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “This town there’s more to this town. “
Then Sun dancer started to drift then he felt his head snap forward then it all went black.
He woke and he saw that he was in another world this world was grey and was full of white figures. He then saw a unicorn in white with ponies surrounding him with a hooded unicorn standing over him.
The hooded unicorn then said, “This unicorn has been found guilty for killing princess Esmerelda’s husband. As punishment by princess, Esmerelda is sentence of death."
The unicorn spat “That Alicorn deserved to die. Ever since she came here ponies have been disappearing it’s her and her husband they both deserve to die..”
Then the hooded unicorn blasted him through the middle then his body fell into the ravine.
The hooded unicorn muttered, “Blood for blood, now for the rest of you. Let this be a warning, princess Esmerelda is good and gracious and knows none of you were a part of his schemes. I urge every single one of you to go back to your homes and continue on your daily lives.”
The ponies clapped he bowed then they shouted “Abyss! Abyss! Abyss!”
Prince Sun Dancer woke in his small bedroom. He rubbed his eyes then he yawns as he gets up then he clambers out of bed then he opens the door. He trots down the halls and goes down stairs then he enters the dining room then the lights flashed open and princess Celestia came out with young ocean breeze with her light green coat green eyes and bright blue mane flowing overhead. She with a gust of wind blowing fall leaves for her cutie mark. She smiled then she flew into Sun Dancer as they all shouted, “Happy birthday!”
Ocean Breeze looked at him then said “Your fifteen now.”
He smiled and said “Yep.”
Princess Celestia came over then said, “I remember today fifteen years ago when you first looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes.”
Prince Sun Dancer blushed then said “Mom you’re so embarrassing.”
She ruffled his mane then prince Blue Blood came forward and said “Prince Sun Dancer I wish you a happy birthday.”
He bows then Prince Sun Dancer hugs him as he groans and said, “I’m glad you made it.”
Then he looked over the cake it was pure white with fifteen candles.
He smiled, “Alright I guess it’s time.”
Princess Celestia nods then prince sun dancer sat behind the cake.
Ocean breeze sat beside her and said “I’m so glad you came to.”
She blushed and said “Oh stop it and let’s sing.”
They sing happy birthday then he blows out the candles then they clapped.
princess Celestia said, “What did you wish for?"
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “If I tell it won’t come true.”
With his magic, he picks up the knife on the side and slices a piece of cake, and then placed it on a plate then he placed a fork in it and he moved it over to Ocean breeze.
He then said, “I want you to have the first piece.”
She blushed and ate some. “It’s delicious.”
Prince blue blood replied, “I’m not in a mood for cake.”
He then left the dining room then princess Celestia looked at Sun dancer and Ocean breeze.
She replied, “Well I should remind you the real party starts at noon.”
Prince sun Dancer turned to princess Celestia and said “Thank you mom.”
She comes over kisses him on the forehead then said “Happy birthday my handsome colt.”
He blushed again then she left the dining room.
Ocean Breeze giggled and said “My mom is just like yours“
Sun dancer turned to her then with his magic lifted a piece of cake and then placed it on a plate and he moved it towards him as he ate some.
He replied “I don’t mind it.”
Ocean breeze then said, “I think it’s sweet.”
Prince Sun dancer turned to her and said, “Are you going to stay?”
She then said, “Of course, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
He then said “Alright, so what about your new job?”
She then said, “I work in cloudsville now to help make wind.”
Sun Dancer then said, “Wind huh”
She nods then said, “I know it’s been hard for us to hang out more often. But this is my destiny.”
He looked at her then said, “I know. I just wanted to spend more time with you before you go.”
She then said, “Well we got today let’s make the most of it.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “Alright. I’ll try to make this a birthday you won’t forget.”
Prince Sun Dancer woke back in the cabin.
Sunset asked, “You okay?”
Sun dancer got up and said, “Yeah I’m fine.”
Sunset then said, “You don’t sound fine.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “I had a vision of a unicorn being executed. Then I had a flashback.”
Sunset then said, “You’ve had them before?”
Prince Sun dancer then said “Not recently. Anyways I am going to send a letter to princess Celestia tell her that our suspicions have been confirmed."
He then realized his saddlebag was gone.
Sunset replied, “It fell in the ravine.”
Prince Sun Dancer swore then said, “Alright let’s start investigating this town and destroy whatever is creating these monsters.”
Sunset nods then Prince Sun Dancer straightens his helmet then he takes his sword puts it in his sheathe then said “Sunset thank you for coming.”
Sunset nods then said “I got your back.”
Then they open the door of the hut and go back into the rain.
Chapter 3 The shadow of guilt
Chapter 3
“A shadow of guilt.”
Prince Sun Dancer and Sunset trotted through the rain. The ground was black with ash and the town was small a few scant broken cottages. In the middle was a small podium and further down was a ruined manor.
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “Let’s check the cottages together.”
Sunset nods then they trot to the first cottage on the left they opened it and they saw a broken room the chair was destroyed then he saw two skeletons on the ground one was a unicorn the other a pegasus. Then Sun Dancer trotted over then went down the small hall he saw two rooms he opened the left there was a skeleton of a small unicorn inside.Sun Dancer turned away then he trotted in the other room and then he found that the place was vacant the bed was rotten and destroyed. He then looks over a desk drawer then he used his horn to open the drawer then he found a diary he looked it over then he took it up and opens it and began Sun Dancer on the floor reading a diary.
Sunset then said, “I checked this place before. I tried to open that drawer and I couldn’t.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “This diary it explains a lot on what happened here.”
Sunset then said, “Well explain.”
Sun Dancer replied “Give me an hour or two.”
Sunset sighed“I’ll take these skeletons and bury them together."
Sun Dancer then said “The mother was the unicorn named Rosemary the father was a Pegasus named Rain cloud and the filly was a little mare named Rosebud. "
Sunset then said “I’ll make sure to mark their graves.”
The day goes by and Sunset brings some wild berries and placed them next to Sun Dancer.
He then said “Thank you.”
Sunset then said “The whole family murdered and for what?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “Over nothing. She placed this diary in here hoping to tell any pony about what happened.”
He threw it across the room with his magic.
Sunset asked “So what happened?”
PrinceSun Dancer had a tear fall down his cheek then he held himself, “It started with a few ponies moving west here when the founding six finished building Canterlot. They wanted to settle here and make this land their own. They found princess Esmerelda and her husband prince Mercury, they were hiding out here since the great cataclysm. They let the ponies stay and they lived peacefully for years. Then that all changed when Abyss arrived, since he arrived ponies began disappearing Rosemary suspected it was him, he would leave town for hours with princess Esmerelda for no reason. Then a unicorn named fire flash killed her husband and abyss then executed him blamed the disappearances on him as well. Then as expected the disappearances did stop and everything seemed to be fine. Rosemary and Rosebud here in this house raised her for three good years. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere the unicorn named abyss killed every pony in this village. Rosemary saw him blast every pony in the town square without blinking an eye and went house to house slaughtering them she said she could hears the screams and the cries for mercy. She tried to hide her daughter and she placed the diary in the desk. We both saw none of them made it."
Sunset sat down then said “Abyss.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “That’s what he called himself.”
Sunset then said “You heard of him before?”
Prince Sun Dancer nods and said “My mother she told me about him. He was a pawn used by Omega an evil Alicorn to try to take control of Equestia. He was a monster born from his own hatred for the Alicorn race and his blind loyalty to the evil Omega. He did this Sunset killed every pony in this village without cause, without hesitation. Even the fillies.”
He bows his head and then Sunset said “He’s dead though? I mean this happened over a hundred years ago.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “He’s dead. My father killed him.”
Sunset then said “Your father. I heard about prince North Star but never I don’t know what’s the truth and what are the lies.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “I remember the day my mom finally told me about him. I was seventeen. We met in her bedroom she closed the door I sat on her bed she sat by me stroked my mane and she started where she met him in an old barn way up in the crystal mountains. He yelled at her told her it was her fault for king Sombra’s war. After she defeated him he went with Luna to find something even further north. He was almost burned alive she came back almost dying from his wounds. He healed up and fought even more then Discord attacked helped her and Luna fight him then abyss fillynapped Luna took her deep into the everfree forest my father with my mother fought through that forest and returned her back to canterlot. Then he left east to find a power to defeat Abyss. He does and when he returns, Luna betrayed my mother to join Abyss’s and Omega’s plan. My father killed Abyss that day but, it was all a ruse for Omega’s soul transferred to a new body and he was going to use Luna to take the moon and control the entire pony race. My mother and father fought their way through chaos ponies and evil Alicorns to stop him and along the way my mother sealed away Luna to the moon and they both fought Omega together.”
He sighed then he looked up then said, “The thing is the power my father found it took a toll and he used all of it to destroy Omega. In the end he died.”
Sunset then said, “I’m so sorry.”
Prince Sun Dancer looked at Sunset then said, “Ever since I could remember before my mom told me about my dad. I wondered what prince North Star was really like. I talked to some of his old friends Lance, Obsidian, even my nanny and foster dad sugar cube.”
He smirked then said, “They were always careful to never say too much. However, the thing is I also hated him I felt like he abandoned me, left me. Then when my mother told me all of that her entire story, I cried. I cried for hours I was so angry at myself for even thinking of hating him. He would have been there for me, cared for me, but because of ponies like Abyss and Alicorns like Omega he had to defeat them and die to save the world.”
He looked down then sighed again then Sunset said, “I don’t know much and I’m not saying this for flattery. But from what you told me your father was a hero and you you’re a hero too.”
Prince Sun Dancer chuckles then said “Thanks.”
Sunset then said, “So we know what happened but we still need to know where these monsters are coming from?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied“I know in the diary it said princess Esmerelda and Abyss were working together let’s check out the manor.”
Sunset then said, “Let’s do it tomorrow morning. Let’s just soak all of this in.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “I may be older but I feel younger right now like I’m having a nightmare and I want to wake up and end it.”
Sunset then said, “We will.”
Prince Sun dancer nods again then said, “We will”
He then lifted some of the berries and popped them in his mouth then he chewed the slowly then Sunset then said “Want to keep a watch?”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said ,“I’ll take first shift.”
Sunset then laid down on the ground then Sun Dancer looked over his shoulder then said “Thank you.”
Sunset nods then Prince Sun Dancer goes outside and catch some rain in his mouth then he stays outside and allows the rain to fall over him.
Prince Sun Dancer woke to a star filled night. He was twenty-three and he was looking at the moon in the middle of the palace gardens.
Ocean Breeze came by he then said, “I heard you got engaged.”
She nods then said, “I’m sorry but we were never going to work out.”
Prince Sun Dancer muttered “I know that, we haven’t seen each other for three years I kind of got the message. You only showed up for the party.”
Ocean breeze then said “Don’t you dare make me look bad.”
Sun Dancer then said, “I know you left because of your destiny. But I can’t stand the fact that you left me knowing how much I care..”
Ocean Breeze then said, “Sun Dancer you were an amazing friend but I never actual had feelings for you. I’m sorry.”
Prince Sun dancer then said, “Don’t be. But can you at least tell me why?”
Ocean breeze then said, “I thought about it and the thing is I don’t think you would handle my death.”
Sun Dancer then said, “What are you talking about?”
She then said, “Your over emotional I’m scarred if we got married and when I die you would never recover.”
Prince Sun Dancer laughed then said, “Are you serious? You’re only twenty-four we would have at least eighty years.”
Ocean Breeze “I’m thinking of the long term. On top of that I am telling the truth iv’e only seen you as a friend.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said, “So you love him right? Hail Storm?”
She then said, “I do and we’re getting married in the spring.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then pauses for a few minutes then said, “I’ll think about coming to your wedding.”
Ocean breeze sighed “Thank you Sun Dancer for being understanding about all of this and… happy birthday.”
She then few off then when she was nothing more than a speck in the sky Sun Dancer slammed his hooves on the ground then sighs and trots back into the palace.
Prince Sun Dancer woke on the floor to Sunset calling his name. Prince Sun Dancer then looks up.
Sunset said “Sorry to wake you but the rain subsided a little I thought it best if we headed out.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said “Yeah sorry, another damn flashback.”
Sunset then said, “You think this place is the reason?”
Prince Sun Dancer got up then yells, “I don’t know!”
Sunset steps back then Prince Sun Dancer looked up then said, “sorry I didn’t mean to yell.”
Sunset then said, “It’s okay I know your under a lot of stress.”
Prince Sun Dancer got up and straighten himself out then he said, “No I apologize that was wrong of me. Let’s just find whatever is causing the storm and get the hell out of here.”
Sunset nods then they leave the cottage.
Chapter 4
“Lost Souls.”
Prince Sun Dancer and Sunset galloped across the deserted town then they saw a horrifying sight. A dozen ponies with their pink bloody skin eyeless with their ears chopped off and their mouths sown. They stood motionless then Prince Sun Dancer starred at them so did Sunset.
Sunset replied, “Let’s fly over them.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied “No wait.”
One started to turn its head and pointed left of it. Prince Sun Dancer saw a barn and it was destroyed with the roof caved in and Prince Sun Dancer trotted up to it the mesh of ponies followed then Sun Dancer stepped inside. The mash of ponies came up from behind and the pointed to the ground. Then sun Dancer saw a shovel on the ground and started to dig within the hole with his shovel. Then after a few hours, he hit a long dent then he kept digging then he found an iron slab. Sun dancer dug harder and faster then uncovered an entire door it was steel plated and bolted to a hinge. Sun Dancer opened the door with his magic revealing a stone staircase. He then flew down within then he found long rows of six cells on each side and the cement ground echoed with Sun dancer’s clopping as Sunset followed as well. Each cell was connected to a tube and that tube was connected to a broken glass container. Sun dancer starred in the cells then he saw that inside each cell was a skeleton of a pony. Then he saw the mesh of ponies come down each one stood in front of a cell each one staring at a set of bones. Sun Dancer starred at the bones then at the mesh of skin then he started to tremble then he blacked out.
He opened his eyes in the grey world again and then he saw white figures in the cages all of them were motionless on the floor the glass cases were being shaken by the mess of ponies behind them. Abyss then looked inside each cell and studied them.
He then said, "The soul transfer spell is perfected, I’ll teach Hera what to do once I return.”
Then a voice echoed, “You haven’t tried it on an Alicorn yet?"
Abyss then said “I will master princess Esmerelda is desperate to save her daughter and I created the perfect body for her. It’s beautiful better then this bunch. I just need to make sure I got this right.”
He then took out a notebook and wrote something in it with his quill replied, “Subject one through three died the body rejected the soul but bodies three through six are dead as well but seven through nine are fine.”
Omega replied, “The bodies need a catalyst to sacrifice.”
Abyss replied, “Not just any sacrifice they need a sacrifice one who was willing to transfer the soul of course I lied to the ponies mostly husbands and wives wanting to see their spouses.”
Omega then said, “So who will sacrifice their body for me?”
Abyss replied “Hera will she told me herself.”
Omega replied “She better.”
Abyss then said, “Everything is going to plan. I’ll perform the sacrifice of princess Esmeralda's filly tonight and assure your return.”
Omega replied “Good.”
Sunset was shaking Prince Sun Dancer as he woke he got up then said, “These creatures they’re not evil.”
Sunset replied “what?”
Prince Sun Dancer starred at them Abyss transferred the souls of ponies into these bodies.
Abyss was experimenting on them.
Sunset then said “another vision?”
Prince Sun dancer then said, “Yeah another vision.”
He was silent for a second Prince Sun dancer shouted, “All of you stay here when I return with my mother princess Celestia she will try to turn you back to normal.”
They just stood there. Prince Sun Dancer and Sunset climb up the steps.
Prince Sun Dancer climbed out of the pit and then he saw Sunset puking in the dirt and Prince Sun dancer then went to Sunset.
Sunset replied, “I’m fine.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then he collapses in the rain then Sunset trots to him.
Prince Sun Dancer sighed and said, “I’m fine. “
He gets up then Sunset then said “The deeper we go, the worst this town gets.”
Prince Sun dancer then said, “It seems that way. I never even considered that a pony could kill another pony. Now that I’ve seen first hoof what Abyss has done, I’m starting to doubt everything I’ve been taught.”
Sunset then said “This was a hundred years ago look at far we’ve come there hasn’t been a murder in Equestria for almost one hundred years. Abyss lost and you need to get up and make sure something like this never happens again.”
Prince Sun Dancer gets up and then as he groaned he muttered, “You’re right I’ve been wallowing in my self-pity myself this entire time. This was the first time I felt vulnerable as if this town was trying to make me into Abyss pulling on my fear and my doubt. However, you’re right this isn’t just about stopping this rain it’s studying this town’s mistakes seeing that fear, and pain only causes more fear and pain. I’m done pitying myself and my failures I also need to let go of Ocean Breeze I loved her but she’s dead. I’ll never forget her but I need to move on, I should have come to terms with this years ago. It’s just been harder than I expected.”
Sunset replied,”Ocean Breeze?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied “An old friend of mine.”
Sunset nods then said, “Well now that you got that out of your system ready to go to the manor?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “Yeah let’s move out, and thank you Sunset thank you for coming I wouldn’t have gotten this far without you.”
Sunset nods then said, “Let’s stop this rain and thank me then.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then the two head in the direction of the manor.
Prince Sun Dancer and Sunset then open the doors to the manor then they enter it was old and rotting. The chandelier was on the ground rusted and destroyed the carpet was eating up and the wood was rotting. The stairs leading up to the second floor, Sun Dancer trotted up the stairs with Sunset then they enter the right side where they found two rooms one was smaller with a rotting crib and a broken down dresser and a the floor rotted through. The second room down the way was much larger it was the master bedroom and the floor was gone as well the bed was now downstairs and a giant wardrobe was broken and was rotten as well. Sun Dancer then went to the study across from the master bedroom. Here he discovered plans a large structure on the wall a giant orb with a small filly inside with a second smaller orb with a full Alicorn inside there was rotting paper scuttled all over the floor with a small rotten bed was on the left side of the room. Underneath was a giant sketch on the wall, on the desk was a tome Sun Dancer picked it up with his magic and carried it out. He then trotted down the steps and then Sunset settled next to him, and then they both sat down across each other than Sun Dancer said, “This book it may tell us where to go next.” Sunset nods then said “Let’s read it and find out where the go.” Sun dancer opened the book and then he started to read aloud:
Abyss: It has been exactly two hundred and seventy five years and fifty-five days since I betrayed Harmony. I came here for a Alicorn to test my experiment on but what I found was far greater a small village trying to make it on its own. I decided to make friends with princess Esmerelda lure her in a sense of false security. I told her I was a lost soul trying to find a place to call him she gave me this room food and water it has been a while since I found another to call friend. I laugh friend haven’t used that word since I killed Golden delicious. Friends their just a liability, Anyways I’m going to get some sleep start tomorrow.
Abyss: It’s been exactly two hundred and seventy five years and seventy-five days since I betrayed Harmony. Princess Esmerelda is pregnant her filly will be excellent leverage for what I have planned but the experiment is still only in theory. Years ago after many experiments with Oblivion on fillies and the pool of shadows it seems the soul has power but the body also needs to accept power as well. It must be the same with the soul transfer spell. This spell is under class dark magic. I will need to gather certain ingredients to create a body for an Alicorn a dragon a gryphon blood from certain creatures. I will be gone for a while when I return I will use some dummy bodies experiment on ponies first make sure that I can do this properly then star building my lab. After that, I’ll have to work to princess Esmerelda’s favor try to make her think I’m on her side. I keep distance from her husband he is getting suspicious. He may have to go…”
Abyss: it’s been exactly two hundred and seventy five years and one hundred fifty days. The first experiments were failures! I thought I had everything correct the spell was perfect I performed it perfectly. I am missing an ingredient, this all theory as well but I cannot fail Omega, not now. I’ll go back through my other experiments on animals, dragons, and gryphons. Necro is getting impatient as well I told him to stay at the tower. He has been experimenting with monsters as well trying to make a powerful chimera. Such a pathetic excuse of an uniron he wants to break Chaos from Tartarus he’ll get it and soon but his goal will to capture Luna. I still don’t have her location or Celestia’s. I’ve been putting all my efforts into this soul transfer spell I need to keep trying find some way to do it before princess Esmerelda gives birth. The villagers are also getting suspicious now that a pony disappeared luckily a uniron named fire flash is trying bring hate in the Alicorns. He will be a good scapegoat I will lure him to kill Prince Mercury and get princess Esmerelda closer be her shoulder to lean on. Everything will work. I just need to hurry.
Abyss: it’s been exactly two hundred and seventy five years and two hundred days. After many more experiments, I believe I found the way to transfer a soul. A pony who cares for the pony must be sacrifice to transfer the soul. They must be family or a very close friend anyways Fire Flash performed perfectly. He killed Prince Mercury in his sleep I pinned the disappearances on him as well of course after I executed him. He also hurt princess Esmerelda. She fears for her filly, this is perfect it’s going better than planned. She has no idea what I have been doing, but performing a soul transfer for a Alicorn will be more difficult. Necro insisted on giving him my info. I did, I know what he’s planning a difficult soul transfer spell one that would destroy me in my current state luckily he has the Alicorn amulet. That cursed thing has been keeping his rotting corpse alive for as long as I know. He seems familiar; he came to me two hundred years ago, thinking if I helped him, free omega Chaos will get a piece of the world. It doesn’t matter my experiments are a success everything is ready to go, I will feed princess Esmerelda poison try to destroy the filly’s insides make her have birth defects force her to use my experiment I need to do this soon I’m running out of time.
Abyss: it’s been exactly two hundred and seventy five years and three hundred and forty five days. As I expected the filly was born with heart and lung problems he skin is ale my goodness princess Esmerelda cried for hours. I of course am preserving her filly in a stasis placed her in my orb and told princess Esmerelda that I created it in case of this very problem. This is my last entry in this journal I remember when I wrote to Harmony. I actually have to thank her I used all that bullshit she taught me for my own gain turn to love to jealousy, turn trust to distrust turn magic to power, turn generosity to greed, turn loyalty to betrayal, kindness to rage, and turn joy into sorrow. I am the opposite of what Harmony tried to turn me into. Do I regret what I have done? No I don’t, using magic to help others that makes you weak and vulnerable. If you have no connections no emotions, you can’t be harmed. You cannot lose. You can kill without feeling anything, use others, and laugh as they stumble. This is my destiny to kill and destroy to create a better world. The old has to be burned and buried the age of the Alicorn will end. I swear to that.
Prince Sun Dancer closes the journal then Sunset sat there and said, “Tell me something why was he helping Omega if he hated Alicorns so much?”
Prince Sun Dancer shrugged then said, “I don’t know, but what I do know is that we no longer have to worry he’s dead. However, the journal it doesn’t say anything about where his other lab is.”
Then a dark shadow started to filter in the room and then everything started to become black.
Chapter 5 A father's grief
Chapter 5
“A father’s grief.”
The black clouds covered the manor sun Dancer and Sunset and get up then the black clouds covered the manor.
Prince Sun Dancer got up then said “Who are you?”
The ghost shouted, “I was once prince mercury murdered by fire flash.”
Sunset then said, “Look were trying to stop the storm and we need to know where Abyss second lab is.”
Prince Mercury replied, “I don’t know much but I saw my wife talk to the bastard known as Abyss I couldn’t talk to them or warn her. He planned it all he poisoned my daughter he almost killed my daughter."
Prince Sun dancer said ,“I know but did he perform the spell and if he did where is she and what’s causing the storm?”
The father replied, “There’s an island not far from here Abyss said he set up there as for the storm. It just started I do not know but when it did I retained this shadow form. But I can’t leave this manor I can’t leave I can’t go yet not until I see my daughter.”
Prince Sun dancer replied, “Your daughter could be dead.”
Prince Mercury then said, ”I know but I want to know for sure. However, promise me don’t kill her she had nothing to do with Abyss’s plans.”
Sunset then said, “Of course were not going to kill her.”
Prince Mercury then said, “If she is alive, that also means my wife is dead.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “It seems that way.”
Prince Mercury replied, “I had a feeling that something was wrong with him. I should of taken action earlier I should of killed him! My weakness allowed him to murder every pony! Then my wife and my daughter their suffering is my fault.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “It’s not. You can’t blame yourself you’re here not because you want to assure that your wife and daughter are alive. You’re here because you blame yourself, Abyss, from what my mother told me is good at feigning emotions manipulating feelings to get what he wants. The thing is your wife had no idea what he was going to do nor did you.”
Prince Mercury then said, “I’m sorry but I can’t accept that. Abyss took my wife to an island not far from the shore that’s what he told her.” Sun dancer then said “Is there any more of these monsters?”
Prince Mercury then said, “There’s more there’s a dozen or so. I can see their trapped souls screaming to be released.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “I also have been getting vision and flash backs what do they mean?”
Prince Mercury then said, “I don’t know. But all of this, this storm, my new form, now your visions something is happening I could feel it.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “Could he use the soul transfer spell from far distances?”
Prince Mercury then said, “Yeah he could all he needs to do is have the sacrifice in place then kill the pony or Alicorn then that soul will be bound to the new body Abyss created. All of it is dark magic. Stuff I only heard about.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “So how does it work? Can he himself die then have a pony sacrifice from somewhere else, would the spell work?”
prince Mercury then said, “I don’t know.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “Sunset, Abyss could be resurrecting himself.”
Sunset replied “Why? It’s been over a hundred years why wait this long?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “We need my mother I won’t be able to defeat him by myself.”
Sunset then said ‘What about the wall?”
The father then said “what wall?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “Some wall appeared when we tried to fly out of here yesterday.”
The father then said, “What if was just an illusion? What if abyss wants you two to go to that island?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied “Do we have a choice?”
Prince Mercury asked, “Who is your mother?”
Prince Sun dancer replied “princess Celestia.”
Prince Mercury replied, “You mean the little princess Celestia?”
prince Sun dancer then said “You knew my mother?”
Then Prince Mercury then said, “I only saw her once as a filly hundreds of years ago.”
Prince Sun dancer then laughed and said, “I could never imagine my mom as a filly. What was she like?”
Prince Mercury then said, “Happy, full of life, I only saw her a few days after she was born I smiled at her saw her small little hooves kicking the air. How old is she now three hundred and four right?”
Sunset then said, “We should head back to the village and tackle the island when she arrives.”
Sunset nods then prince mercury said “Good luck.”
Then Sun Dancer and Sunset leave the manor and they fly towards the broken bridge.
Prince Sun dancer looks down at the dead monster its body was slumped over and rotting. The wall was still there but Sunset and Prince Sun Dancer fly through it.
Prince Sun Dancer said, “Maybe prince Mercury is right abyss is baiting us.”
Sunset then said, “We don’t know if it’s actually him. Prince Sun Dancer let’s just go home. All I can think about right now is my wife and son. I want to hold them, tell them I’m still alive.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said “Alright.”
That night Sun Dancer and Sunset fly back to Manehatten Sunset and Prince Sun Dancer were back at Sunset's cottage. Sunset then opened the door and then Orange Bright flies into him. Sunset hugs him for a long time. Honey wheat enters the room then smiles and then she hugs him. Sunset cried he cried for a while. Sun Dancer went back outside and closes the door as he stood in the pouring rain.
he heard “Dad why are you crying?”
Sunset then said, “You know I love you both. You know that?”
Honey Wheat said “Orange bright it’s late. Say goodnight to daddy and I’ll tuck you in.”
Orange bright then said “But I want to stay up with dad.”
Sunset then said, “Honey, we’ll talk later would it be fine if I put Orange Bright to bed?”
She then said “Okay.”
Prince Sun Dancer heard Sunset trot down the hall with his son. Then Prince Sun Dancer opens the door and then he saw Honey wheat in her chair she was staring at the floor trembling.
Prince Sun Dancer then sat down and sighs then Honey wheat replied, “What happened?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “That east side of town has a dark history. I’ll let him tell you about it.”
Honey Wheat replied, “Should have guessed, are you doing okay?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “I’ll be fine, I’m just trying to recover.”
Honey Wheat replied, “So did you find anything else? How to stop the storm?”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said, “Yeah we did an island not far from here were going there. But I need something to write with.”
Honey wheat then said, “In my room there is a quill and some ink. I write letters to my family west from here.”
Prince Sun dancer nods then he trots down the hall he then heard Sunset from Orange Bright’s room. “He could hear Orange Bright’s steady breathing and Sunset’s heavy breathing and silent sobbing. Then Prince Sun dancer went into the master bedroom. It was small as well with its wooden floor a nice queen sized bed. On the left side is a dresser and a quill in an inkpot. Sun Dancer sat down and then he took out a piece of paper and the quill then he began to write.
Dear mother, I need to tell you we found the location of the storms. We need you now more than ever. Your old enemy abyss I fear is behind everything that what is happening here. I thought I understood what evil was when you told me what you had to face. Now iv’e seen it, I saw the destroyed village read about how he turned innocent ponies into monsters killed entire families including fillies. He twisted an Alicorn here her name is princess Esmerelda he poisoned her filly while she was still in the womb and forced her into one of his experiments. Both sunset and I are shaken at what we’ve heard, the soul of prince Mercury is still bound to the manor he died in. He’s restless, angry and full of pain. The mother is most likely dead as well, if Abyss’s experiment succeeded. In addition, a group of ponies trapped in monstrous bodies I don’t know but if you can please research a spell as long as it’s not dark magic to save them from this curse, maybe we could save others as well. Thank you for not telling me about my father when I was younger. I wasn’t ready I don’t think I ever was until now. I tried to understand death ever since Sugar cube died. With Ocean Breeze, I watched her from a filly to a teen to an adult. I went to her wedding, saw her twins be born watched Sugar Cube die, then I watched Lance die, princess Cadence watched Obsidian die. I watched Ocean Breeze’s husband die, then I watched her die. Soon I will watch her fillies die as well. Every time another pony I know dies from old age, I felt like something was torn from me. Every time I had to go their funeral, I felt I wished I could save them. It became harder to comprehend on what I am supposed to do. I know I can fight help the guard stay organized keep settlements like this safe. However, I still feel as if I could never repay those who I knew my friends and family, now I know how. I have to let go, those memories will never die the ones from throughout my life, but I can’t shackle myself to that pain any longer I need to move on. Prince Sun dancer then folded the paper and then he teleported it he then left them room and then he trotted down the hall then he heard two silent breathes slowly humming back and forth. Sun Dancer chuckled then he trots back into the living room the hearth was lit and Honey Wheat was sitting on her chair.
Prince Sun Dancer sat across from her. S
he then said, “My husband fell asleep.”
Prince Sun dancer then said “Both of us are exhausted I just can’t sleep right now.”
He then sat across from her then she said, “Tell me why my husband was crying?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “He saw not one but two families torn apart one was all murdered and the other the father was killed and he doesn’t know if his wife and filly are still alive.”
Honey wheat then said “Oh my .. No wonder.”
She then starred into the flames and said, “Ever since the rain started my husband has been under a lot of stress and we stopped being together then I got sick. I think my cold’s gone but he became more isolated. I started to think he doesn’t love me anymore maybe he was seeing another mare. Then tonight it felt like the first time I felt his love since before this damn rain started to fall.”
Prince Sun dancer was stunned then she looked up then said, “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said that.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “If you want my advice go to your husband and son don’t let all this gloom ruin your family.”
She nods then she said “Thank you for being with him.”
Prince Sun dancer nods then she left and Prince Sun Dancer continued to stare into the flames.
Chapter 6 A mother's fears
Chapter 6
“A mother fears.”
Princess Celestia came in with a saddlebag over her shoulder. She watched as the ponies still out and about in the rain, they bow before her.
She then said, “go on I won’t be here long.”
Prince Sun Dancer came out of Sunset’s cottage.
He then bows and said “Princess Celestia.”
She trots over to him and hugs him he bows his head into her.
She replied, “I was so worried about you.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “Don’t worry mom I’m okay.”
She separates herself then Sunset came out and then bowed and replied “Princess Celestia. I’m Sunset.”
She then said, “Rise Sunset you’ve done wonderfully here keeping the settlement intact even with this foul weather.”
Sunset replied, “Thank you and I hope you don’t mind my cottage.”
Princess Celestia then said, “Of course not.”
They all enter his cottage he has two more chairs around the hearth she sat down on the far left. Then as Sunset sat down Orange Bright galloped in and pounced on princess Celestia’s lap and shouted “How old are you?
Sunset cringed Honey wheat came in bowed.
She got up and shouted, “Orange Bright where are your manners?”
Orange Bright said “Sorry?”
Princess Celestia replied, “So how should you present yourself?”
Orange Bright got off princess Celestia’s lap then he bows as Honey wheat sat down across from the hearth with a set of tea and cookies set on the small table around them.
Orange bright bowed
Honey Wheat said “Okay now you can ask.”
Orange Bright looked up at princess Celestia,
Princess Celestia replied, “I’m three hundred and four.”
Orange Bright then said “wow!”
They all laughed.
Then Honey Wheat said, “Come here Orange Bright you can sit on my lap.”
Orange Bright sighs and then he galloped over to Honey Wheat and he plopped in her lap. Then Sun Dancer and princess Celestia lifted the cups of teas in front of them and they start to drink their tea then as Honey wheat let Orange Bright cuddle up in his mother’s lap.
Princess Celestia turned her gaze to Orange Bright said, “How old are you?”
Orange Bright looked up at her then said “I’m six.”
Princess Celestia then said “Six? I remember when you were six Sun Dancer.”
Prince Sun Dancer then chuckles and drinks more of his tea.
He then said, “Mom how was the trip?”
She then said, “Dreadful I had to convince the guard that I didn’t need an escort and I flew here as fast as possible without any real rest.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “I’m sorry mother for bring you here like this.”
She then said, “Its fine Prince Sun Dancer I’m just happy all of you are okay.”
Honey wheat replied, “When do all of you plan to leave?”
Prince Sun Dancer and Sunset starred at princess Celestia.
She then said, “Today as soon as possible.”
Sunset sighed and said “Well if you and Prince Sun Dancer are going to that island I’m coming too.”
Orange bright then got off Honey Wheat’s lap and then he galloped to Sunset and climbed up his lap then said, “Daddy I don’t want you to go. You’re going to cry again.”
Sunset then picked up Orange Bright placed him on his lap then said, “I promise I won't cry again okay. I will only be gone for a while.”
Princess Celestia drank more tea then looked at the floor then Orange bright cuddled up into Sunset’s lap.
Honey wheat gets up then said “I’m sorry princess Celestia my son he’s so.”
Princess Celestia held up a hoof and said “Sun Dancer was the same way it’s fine, it’s who he is.”
Prince Sun Dancer started to blush then Honey Wheat looks at her son shivering in Sunset’s lap then smiles and then she started to have tears swell up in her eyes then she trotted off down the hall. Sunset sighed and as he was going to get up.
Princess Celestia replied “Sunset I’ll talk to her. I think I know what she’s going through.”
Sunset replied “princess Celestia are you sure?”
princess Celestia replied, “Don’t worry about it. We mares have a code.”
She gets up and trots down the hall she sees honey wheat in her bed crying she looked up then said “princess Celestia!” she was going to get up.
Princess Celestia raises her hoof then said, "just relax.”
Honey wheat sighs and plops on the bed.
Princess Celestia then said, “I’m guessing there’s a lot on your mind.”
Honey wheat then said “Well for the last few weeks we’ve been trying to help ponies move crops into other cottages to keep something growing using the pegasi and earth ponies to create miniature gardens trying to keep this place together me and my husband fought all night. I told him if we don’t stop this storm if he goes to this island and you get nothing we lose this place and the years of work to build it. He won’t accept it he’s too stubborn I’m just seeing the facts.”
Then princess Celestia said “I’m not going to let that happen.”
Honey Wheat then said, “I’m sorry but I don’t put much stock in promises.”
Princess Celestia then said “You also fear something else you fear for your filly.”
Honey wheat then said “He’s too curious the other day when your son and your husband were out there he galloped across the village tried to follow them. I found him before he got near it. He was punished and now he’s using my husband for comfort.”
Princess Celestia then said, “You know I use to have that same problem with Sun dancer. He would go out of the palace and when I scolded him for it his foster dad would come to the rescue while I was the one punishing him. You fear for your husband’s safety as for your filly but both are under you and you keep them in line. You built Manehatten as much as your husband, you’re a strong mare and think ponies don’t say that enough about you.”
Honey wheat laughed and said “It’s so funny when you talk about maternal problems.”
Princess Celestia then said I’ve been a mother for a hundred years I know a few things.”
Honey wheat then said, “What did you fear most from your son?”
Princess Celestia then said, “I feared I would be so busy running this kingdom he wouldn’t even know I was his mother, like I would be a stranger. I would go this room after hours of work and find Sugar Cube his nanny putting him to sleep. I would come to his room hoping he was awake so I can talk to him hold him. I tried even if he was a sleep I would hold him and talk to him and sometimes he would wake up squalling and I would feed him or change his diaper. However, he didn’t talk not until he was eight months old he said his first word mom. I came home after another stress filled hell full day and I wanted to go to sleep but Sugar Cube with all of his effort could not quiet him. I took him in my hooves and he quieted I placed a bottle in his mouth and sat with him for hours staring at him. I thought of my husband, I thought of how strong he was, how morally obligated he was, and wished he could see his son and was hoping with all my heart that somehow I was a good mother as well as a good princess. After he finished the bottle and I was just holding him he spoke that word “Mom.” He said it without really knowing what it meant maybe he said gibberish and I interpreted it in my mind. That meant the world to me he knew me and he starred at me with his beautiful blue eyes I just smiled back. He giggled and I snuggled him and that whole night I just brushed his mane and told him how much I loved him. Since that day my fear grew from if he would know me and like you to if he would hate me, I was a hard mother I scolded him often sometimes more then I should. But no matter how I punished him he learned his lessons he took them to heart and he loved me even more later on in life. He’s even thanked for being hard on him because he knows that I loved him that much.”
Honey wheat then said “you know I also remember Orange bright called me mom it was in this room he was learning to crawl and I I right where you were standing urging him on and he laughed as he crawled up to me. From that day as well I felt my life change everything I’ve done wasn’t just for him but every filly in this village I’m doing everything I can to protect them but I feel fear like I’m going to fail them in the end.”
Princess Celestia replied, “You won’t keep them in line. Show them how strong you are and no pony can take that away from you.”
Honey Wheat looked up then said “Thank you I really did need a pep talk.”
Princess Celestia then said, “No problem come on let’s not keep the stallions waiting.”
Princess Celestia left then prince Sun dancer got up and then she smiled and said “Ready?”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then Sunset gets up then said “Now Orange bright you stay in the house and listen to your mom. If you gallop out of the house again without her permission you will be grounded understand?”
Orange bright said “Okay.”
Sunset then said “Alright,”
He gets up then Honey Wheat came into the room and then she knelt to Orange bright.
Orange then shouted, “Let’s go play chess okay!”
He nods then gallops to his room she looked over.
Then princess Celestia opens the door Sunset went over to his wife they kissed.
Then he said, “We’ll talk more when we return.”
She then said, “Just return alive alright?”
They kiss again then Sun Dancer said “Mom, what did you two talk about?”
Princess Celestia replied “Mare stuff like how you were as a filly.”
He sighed, “Do you still see me as a filly?”
Princess Celestia replied, “When I read that letter you wrote me I knew that you have matured a lot since you left.”
She ruffles his mane he nuzzled his head against her then hugs her. She hugs him they stay like that for a few moments then they separated. Then the three go out into the pouring rain and the she flies into the sky with Sunset and Prince Sun Dancer.
As they flew through the sky for hours and then they landed on the island then they came up to the beach and saw a large grove of pine trees and a solid building made of stone with a large door opening leading down stone steps then all of a sudden. A sudden burst of energy came forward and flooded the island then princess celesta opened her saddlebag then she focused the elements of harmony. She focused them and then blasted the energy into the shadow. The shadow regurgitated and then shot back at Celestia then she pressed harder than the shadow began to dissipate then Sun Dancer flew forward as a spike of shadow tried to stab princess Celestia but he blocks it with a small spell shield. Then as he blocked the next tacks the shadow fell and then it was gone sun Dancer was drained as he came forward then he saw the darkness dissipate and then the shadow was gone. Now that the shadows were gone she and Sunset and Sun dancer as they trotted down the steps they come to dozens of glass tubes inside each of them were dead or floating bodies of Alicorns. Princess Celestia was looking at them the bodies were twisted some malformed some were female others had male parts one had both. They came down the stone hallway and they came to a black orb it was in the center of the room incased in stone, and little vines of tubes were flowing from it.
Princess Celestia trotted forward then said “This orb this is what’s causing the storms what’s causing all of this. I believe if I destroy this orb then I can stop it."
Sunset then said “can you?”
princess Celestia then said “I can do this.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied “Mom be careful.”
She looked at her son then said “Don’t worry about me.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “Well.”
She smiled and said “Don’t worry Sun Dancer I got this.”
She then turned to the black orb then she sighs and then she takes out the elements of harmony and she blasted the black orb then everything started to blur
Princess Celestia woke in her bed in the palace.
She looked to see a white cloud it then said “You’re so lucky.”
Princess Celestia got up from her bed she swore see she got up then said “who are you what is this?”
The white cloud then said “I’m protecting my daughter as you would protect your son.”
Princess Celestia laughed and said “This is an illusion a battle of wits I’ll win you can’t destroy my mind. There’s nothing you can show me that’s worse than what iv’e already witnessed.”
The white cloud then shouted “you will fall no Alicorn or pony touches my daughter abyss will assure her safety and security.”
Princess Celestia then said “Were not here to destroy her.”
She then said “I know but my filly needs a mother and even though I was sacrificed. Abyss placed my soul here and he said to wait until my new body was finished. I did, now your son will be the sacrifice a Alicorn who will be willing to save me.”
Princess Celestia then said “No you won’t.”
The white cloud replied “You can’t leave this place I will make sure of that I’ll make it look likee you’ll be unconscious the storm’s rage will end and you will be here forever trapped here. However for your sacrifice even though this isn’t real Abyss can leave you here and give you a wonderful false world here.”
Princess Celestia calmed her mind she focused she rose and said “Listen to me I know you feel pain right now. I can feel your anger but abyss is the one who poisoned your daughter, killed your husband he’s only using you. I don’t think he’s going to resurrect you. I believe he will use your soul. The thing is your dead, you need to accept that I know it’s hard but you need to accept your death. If you don’t then you will never be able to free yourself. I don’t know if I can raise another filly but I will if she is still young. I will care for her as if she were my own daughter. Please listen to me leave this world.”
The white cloud then said “I.. I.. Abyss I know what’s he’s done I hate him more than anything but he’s dead. He told me the last time he came was to wait until you were here or another Alicorn it’s the only way for me to be resurrected I waited this long and I can’t just abandoned this resolve.”
Princess Celestia replied, “Then accept that fact that Abyss has used you before tell me why would this be any different? His words are poison there is nothing good he does he doesn’t care if you lived or died. If you do this your falling in his hooves and we all suffer including your daughter because if he is just using you then he will kill your daughter or use her as a weapon.” the spirit then said, “Your… your right why didn’t I see all of this before? My daughter’s new body has been in a stasis. Since she was born her soul has been trappped here. Please take care of her tell her that I loved her.... Tell her that I’m sorry.”
The white cloud dissipated then the world went black.
Princess Celestia woke and then she saw that the black crystal was shattered and broken and the elements of harmony surrounded her she got up.
Prince Sun Dancer helped her up he then said “are you okay.”
She nods then as she gets up then said “I‘ve been playing therapist all day. Hopefully it payed of.”
Sun dancer replied “well I for one say you’re good at it.”
She smiled then said “Thank you.”
She pauses as Sunset breathes slowly then said, “That crystal it was holding princess Esmerelda’s soul it was released. I think it stopped the storm.”
Prince Sun Dancer then galloped down the lab and entered the through the door then he saw the sunlight stream down from the sky onto the sandy beach. The cold grey water and the coast of Equestria could be seen with the settlement of manehatten a small brown speck the cheers could also be heard from the ponies.
Princess Celestia came out and smiled as did Sunset
Sunset replied, “Well we solved one problem.”
Princess Celestia then said “There’s more princess Esmerelda’s filly. She told me the soul transfer worked she’s downstairs underneath this rock.”
Prince Sun dancer replied, “We find her and get her out of this hell hole.”
Sunset nods then said “I won’t abandon any filly to this dark place.”
Princess Celestia then said, “Alright let’s go.”
The three starred at the coast for a bit longer then the three enter back into the lab.
Chapter 7 monsters and the innocent
Chapter 7
“Monsters and the innocent”
Prince Sun Dancer, Sunset and princess Celestia were now deeper in the lab. Princess Celestia picked up the elements of harmony as they passed the Alicorns in the test tubes and they enter a second chamber. This one had a large antechamber it was filled with a red liquid not blood it felt like water with red dye.
Floating above them was against shadow it spoke “Princess Celestia it’s been a hundred years.”
Princess Celestia replied, “So Abyss looks like your nothing more than a shade.”
The shadow then said, “I’ve become more powerful than all the Alicorn born before me and those yet to be born. I have gained true immortality. Now witness the beginning of the end.”
Then they heard screams and giant splashes echo throughout the chamber.
Then Prince Sun dancer shouted “Mother! Get behind me!”
Princess Celestia stepped forward then she took up the elements of harmony and blasted them at the creatures the arena filled with light hit them but as they were blown back they were revealed as pony creatures with red meat like bodies covered in scars. For hooves were claws they screeched as they clawed where their eyes should be,
Princess Celestia starred at them one shouted “Help me kill me!”
The shadow above then said, “They were once ponies but I forced their loved ones to sacrifice themselves when they tried to save the ones they loved. Instead they unintentionally forced their souls into these twisted bodies."
Princess Celestia shouted, “You were going to do the same to princess Esmerelda weren’t you!”
As the monsters attacked Sunset tried to blast of wind sending them back.
Prince Sun Dancer cut one of them and then severed the claw.
Then Prince Sun dancer replied “mom did you find a spell to save them?”
princess Celestia then said “No I didn’t I don’t think I can.”
The shadow above them chuckled and said “Their bodies are gone they have nothing left. You’re going to have to kill them to save the filly beyond this door either way you kill them or leave them in this cursed state.”
Prince Sun dancer shouted “listen to me”
the monsters screamed then they attacked again the prince Sun dancer stabbed one through the arm and threw it aside.
Then he shouted, “There has to be a way we can’t just kill them.”
As the monsters got up, one was screaming another was bleeding out and was still crawling forward princess Celestia starred into the red water.
Then the shadow said, “The answer is simple. The way to save them is to kill them. They’re not bound by shadow and their loved ones are dead tell me do they really want to live any longer? give them release show them your mercy.”
Prince Sun Dancer shouted, “Mom please tell me you found something, anything!"
Princess Celestia replied, “I’m trying. I need to focus can you somehow keep them still?”
prince Sun dancer watched as the monsters got up.
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “I’ll keep going.”
Princess Celestia got up with the elements of harmony focused she then focused on one she slammed her power into it. Then as it screamed she then stripped it of its rusted claws as the hooves appeared and then it’s eyes turned blue and his hair grew blue as well.
Then she swore as a horn appeared and then he fell into the water he was still screaming “Kill me! Kill me!”
He gets up as princess Celestia turned her attention to the rest. Prince Sun Dancer swung his sword with his magic keeping them at bay holding them off trying not to kill them. Prince Sun Dancer watched as one by one princess Celestia turned each creature into a normal pony. They all watched as the last monster’s body turns into a normal pony body. Then they got up as prince Sun Dance helped a female Pegasus.
Then princess Celestia then said, “all of you I know that’s it’s been a hundred years take some time get out of this cavern and try to get use to your bodies. The ponies all trotted out of the room. Then prince Sun dancer looked deeper into the darkness."
He then shouted “You did it mom!”
He looked back at her she was exhausted but as she got up she then said “I’m fine we need to keep going. “
Prince Sun dancer nods then said “Alright let’s go.”
Prince Sun Dancer leads them down into the tunnel he could hear the rushing of the water like a waterfall. He came forward and saw the steps that lead to the final room a circular chamber with three giant orbs one was a deceased body of princess Esmerelda rotting in the far left. On the right was a new body one that had a pure black coat black mane and tail. And it’ eyes were closed in the middle was a small filly. On its other right was a tube with the body of a rotting body.
Prince sun Dancer saw the shadow hovering over them all then it said “princess Celestia and Prince Sun Dancer you both proven exactly how I expected you would.”
Princess Celestia then said “I knew it you would of used princess Esmerelda infect her soul into that new body.”
Abyss then said, “Of course I would of. I didn’t think princess Esmerelda would have succumbed to you.”
Princess Celestia then said, “Yet again you underestimated the will of other ponies. and Alicorns. We are one you can’t defeat us.”
Abyss then said “Yet I can. Prince Sun dancer I tried to make you see no other way forced you to come here use your selfless nature to save princess Esmerelda sacrifice yourself so she could be with her daughter and now I see that your mother decided to choose you over her.”
Prince Sun dancer then said “You killed her you used her tortured her and her filly! Tell me what else was left of her! Maybe I would have saved her maybe if your perfect plan worked I would be dead now and you would of won. But you didn’t because you underestimated her strength she saw your plan and knew what would of happened my mother convinced her I see it clearly now. Princess Esmerelda’s resolve to keep her daughter safe that’s the reason it failed.”
Abyss then said, “Yes I failed but now it comes down to one final choice I cannot enter this body I created I’m bound by this shadow that sustains my soul. But you can’t save any pony you know what’s going to happen you saw it.” Sun Dancer then said “what the hell are you talking about.”
Abyss then said “The pool of shadow is’nt evil it’s the force of nature that pulls from light it grants those who crave power knowledge and the means of understanding the universe. Sun dancer almost one hundred years ago you saw what ‘s going to happen and when it does the reckoning will happen and you will fail.”
Princess Celestia then raised the elements of harmony into the air and shouted “Enough! I’m going to send you back to Tartarus where you belong!”
She raised them then she shot the power into it then the shadow hit Sun dancer then his eyes went wide then he saw a planet while another world was being built. While their world was, being destroyed.
Then Prince Sun Dancer starred into the shadow then he saw it starring back with red eyes.
It then said, “Sun Dancer.”
Prince Sun dancer blinked then said “We met before?”
the shadow then said “when you were three I told you I killed your father. Destroyed cities burned civilizations to the ground and I will do so again. This time Abyss my greatest acolyte will succeed his plan is flawless.”
Prince Sun dDancer then said, “I don’t care how flawless his plan is I won’t allow it to happen.”
The darkness chuckled and said, “It won’t be up to you.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “What are you saying?”
The darkness replied “The elements of harmony will soon be given to others they will be my enemy. I will destroy them omega’s demise prolonged my plans but soon Abyss will finish them. What I ask is simple, give in let me in let me save your family and friends give them to me and they will be immortal. No other pony you know has to die I swear to you a life with no more pain, no more suffering, why do you still deny it?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “Sugar Cube told me how you offered him the same deal. Unlimited power with no consequence, he told me he wanted it he really did. But he met a pony named pinkie pie, he thought of his friends, and of his grandmother and of his parents who loved him. He even gave me a photo of pinkie pie and her friends. he told me that he realized that power can’t buy love.”
The shadow then said, “Sentimental garbage, power destroys love happiness and joy. That filly’s life was bought by the blood of dozens of ponies her family is dead and the world she will be born in will not understand what she is. Just like Luna she will fall.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “That won’t happen. I’m going to care for her with my mother we will raise her like our own and she’s going to enjoy a life where she will no longer feel the pain you put on her. I swear to that.”
The shadow snickers then said, “Alright you win this round Abyss will leave this place the visions will end your flashbacks will stop. But one day you’re going to regret forsaking my power.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “And I will continue to fight against you.”
The world became light and then everything went into focus.
The darkness faded away then the world went back into focus Sunset was in the corner motionless princess Celestia was standing over him in tears.
He asked, “What happened?”
Sunset replied “He’s alive!”
princess Celestia looked up, “Sun Dancer are you okay?”
He then said, “Yeah, I’m fine.”
Princess Celestia helped her son get up, “You went unconscious after I defeated Abyss”
Prince Sun dancer then said, “Mom its okay I’m fine.”
Princess Celestia separates herself from Sun Dancer and said “I know I… was scarred you were..”
Sun Dancer hugged her she then hugs him back then he separates himself.
As Princess Celestia wiped away her tears then stowed away the elements of harmony then they all starred at the test tubes. Prince Sun Dancer turned to the one with the black Alicorn then he took his sword and slashed it through the body of the Alicorn and the glass broke and the body collapsed and the water drenched the ground with its dead corpse.
Prince Sun dancer said, “I bet he has more labs. I’m not going to stop, I’m going to make sure Abyss and the shadow fail.”
He looked over to the orb with the filly inside he then slammed his sword into the middle of it then as it opened the water fell out and then it opened all the way and then he saw her. She was a small thing with a grey coat, a small wisp of grey mane and grey tail with two blue eyes. She woke and started to cry.
Her cries echoed throughout the chamber and sun Dancer sheathed his sword picked her up with his magic then as she came close to him he then said, “Hey it’s okay.”
She cooed as he placed her in his hooves. He sat down with her. He looked at her for a few minutes as did Sunset and princess Celestia then he cried and held her close.
Princess Celestia replied, “Prince Sun dancer you want to be her father?"
Prince Sun dancer then said “I don’t know.”
Princess Celestia replied, “If you do, you have to accept all responsibility for her. I will not get involved with her upbringing only if you want me too."
He looked at his mother then said, “I want to do this I want to be her father and you can help me whenever you want.”
Princess Celestia smiled, “Well what are you going to name her."
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “It shouldn’t be up to us. We should go back to the manor prince Mercury is still trapped and we should ask him It is his daughter. No matter what I’m going to tell her who her parents were, tell her of this place when she’s ready and I’ll help her through the pain.”
He looked at his mother she then said “that sounds like an excellent plan.”
Sunset said, “Prince Sun Dancer a neighbor of ours just had fillies as well. I can get you some diapers and bottles of milk for her.”
Prince Sun Dance replied, “Thank you that would be nice.”
He continued to stare at her and said, “What about this lab?”
princess Celestia replied, “When were all clear of this place, I’m destroying it.”
He then gets up and he held the filly with his right front hoof.
Princess Celestia said, “I’ll teleport you two back to town then I’ll come back for the rest.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then they teleport.
A day passes by Sun Dancer was no longer wearing his armor holding the filly in Sunset’s cottage sitting on one the chair on the left side of the hearth. He had a bottle in her mouth and she was wearing a diaper. She was fast asleep and he was just looking at her.
Princess Celestia came back inside the cottage then she smiled and said, “How’s she doing?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “She’s been napping most through the afternoon she should be waking up soon.”
Princess Celesta then said, “I went down the cellar the one at the barn. They’re all normal as well.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “Good, there’s one more thing we need to do.”
Princess Celestia then said, “You want to do it now?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “After she wakes up.”
Princess Celestia nods then she sat across from her son she sighed and then said, “How are you doing?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “Fine.”
He just looked at the little filly as she kicked her legs then he took the bottle from her mouth then he placed the bottle on the table. He placed her on his shoulder.
Princess Celestia said, “She’s so adorable.”
Prince Sun Dancer chuckled then said, “So if I’m going to be called dad. I guess you’re going to be grandma.”
Princess Celestia laughed then said, “I don’t look that old?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “You don’t look a day older than three hundred. “
Then then the filly started to cry again then Prince Sun Dancer laid her across his hooves again then said, “Did you just wake up?”
He nuzzled her she giggled then she placed her front hooves in her mouth.
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “Let’s go see him.”
Princess Celestia nods and said, “Alright.”
She gets up and then the two teleported.
Prince Sun Dancer and princess Celestia enter the manor and then prince Sun Dancer looked around then they saw the black shadow.
Then it said “Is that her?”
Prince Sun Dancer then said “Yeah it is.”
Prince Mercury said, “She’s so beautiful.”
Princess Celestia then said, “I have to say how sorry I am for what happened to you and your family.”
Prince Mercury replied, “Thank you, princess Celestia and Prince Sun Dancer. Thank you for caring for her, for my filly.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “We haven’t named her yet we thought it best if you should.”
Prince Mercury then paused and he said, “Astra. My wife and I we though if we had a mare we would name her Astra.”
Prince Sun dancer nods then prince mercury replied “Prince Sun Dancer, are you going to be her adoptive father?”
prince Sun Dancer then said, “Yeah I will.”
Prince mercury said, “I just want you to know how thankful I am that my little mare is in the hooves of an Alicorn like yourself. You were right I was not trapped here because of what happened to my wife and Filly I was bound here because of my hate and anger. I now can finally rest in peace and it’s thanks to you and Sunset.”
Prince Sun dancer nods and said “Prince Mercury your wife she waited for a hundred years to try to return she wanted to raise your filly and I would have sacrificed myself for her. I had no idea that in actuality that Abyss would have cursed her soul and use her I do not deserve to ask you for your forgiveness it thought you should know."
Prince Mercury replied, “Prince Sun Dancer my wife and I are dead. Our lives were taken and we need to accept our deaths. All we can ask is that you treat our daughter as we would of giver her life worth living allow her to grow and when she learns of the tragedy that happened here. Tell her don’t let what happened here define her. If you do that then you have my love and my thanks.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then said “alright.”
Prince Mercury replied “Astra you’re the love of my life. You may not understand what I am saying but I love you, I wish I could hold you and feed you and raise you. I just want you to know that I love you your mother loved you and I want you to be a good mare and listen to prince sun Dancer. He can be the father I wish I could be. All I can ask is your happiness and your love."
Astra babbled something and held out her hooves and kicked against Prince Sun Dancer.
Prince Sun Dancer chuckled, “I will raise her as my own as if she were my daughter and I will make sure that she knows what her parents sacrificed. I also won’t allow this gloom and sorrow to define her she will know the truth I’ll help her through the pain and she will be able to lean on me and my mother for support.”
Prince mercury nods then Astra started to cry prince Sun Dance hushed her then as she settled down.
prince mercury then said “she’s tired isn’t she?”
prince Sun dancer then said “She just woke up and is a but cranky. I just wanted you to see her.”
Prince Mercury replied, “How is she though is everything fine?”
Princess Celestia chuckled then Prince Sun Dancer said, “She’s perfect. Abyss may have taken her original body but her soul is as bright as ever. Your daughter is a happy filly right now she burps and laughs she cries, last night I barely got sleep, she cried all night but I didn’t care. She’s everything to me because I can never repay you and your wife for everything you’ve sacrificed.”
Prince Mercury replied, “Prince Sun Dancer, you’re going to be a great father.”
He then said “princess Celestia you’ll be a great grandmother.”
Princess Celestia chuckled and said, “I’ll try.”
Then the black clouds dissipated and then he was gone.
Prince Sun Dancer felt the tears coming down his face.
Princess Celestia hugged him then he said, “We should go back to Canterlot. Let’s set up my old room for the filly’s room.”
Princess Celestia nods then said, “We’ll have to buy a new crib and redecorate that room.”
Prince Sun Dancer then said, “It’ll be fine. After that we can finally adjust and I’ll just have to adjust my duties as a member of the guard and my duties as a prince and a father but being a father is going to be my first priority.”
Princess Celestia replied, “I’ll support you. You know that?”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “Thanks mom. “
He then teleported with her and they went back into town.
That evening he had on his armor and, he was putting on his helmet he had a carrier on the front of him with Astra inside and a saddlebag full of diapers, bottles filly toys and gifts from the villagers. As he was looking at Astra who was cooing Sunset come in through the door with his son Orange Bright.
Orange Bright got excited and shouted “Sun Dancer how is Astra!”
Prince Sun Dancer smiled, “She’s doing great.”
Prince Sun Dancer bowed to Orange Bright’s level then Orange bright hugged Astra softly then said, “Bye Astra I’m going to miss you and you Sun Dancer.”
Astra babbled gibberish then Orange Bright laughed and then he galloped off to his room then Sunset came forward as Sun dancer got up then as he shakes Sun Dancer’s hoof.
Prince Sun dancer said, “ Thank you Sunset for everything.”
Sunset then said, “No thank you, you and princess Celestia are the reason our village survived.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied “well now on to my next journey fatherhood.”
Sunset smiled and said “You’ll do fine.”
Prince Sun Dancer nods then Sunset bows.
Then Sunset looked at Astra then said “bye princess Astra be a good little mare.”
She giggled then he brushed her mane then Sunset got out of his way as he got out of the cottage.
He saw Honey wheat she was coming down the road. She then light up when she saw princess Astra.
She went up to her then said, “Who’s the beautiful little mare.”
Princess Astra giggled again then Honey Wheat made faces and was making princess Astra laugh.
Then Honey Wheat got up and then said “prince Sun dancer good luck on being a father.”
Prince Sun Dancer bows then said “Take care Honey Wheat.”
She replied, “You take care as well.”
She went back into her cottage then prince Sun Dancer came to his mother who was talking to the villagers as they dispersed.
She came forward, “I was just telling them that storm was caused by dark magic and the power causing it has been destroyed.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “The lab is destroyed correct?”
Princess Celestia nods
She looked a princess Astra and said, “She is cute.”
Prince Sun dancer replied, “Yeah she is. The villagers were nice on giving us these gifts for her.”
Princess Celestia nods then said, “Is something else bothering you. You’ve been distant.”
Prince Sun Dancer replied, “No nothing is wrong I’m just thinking about everything that’s happened. I have learned to let go and I have learned to understand that my life affects more than my own. I learned that I have to be more than just a prince I need to understand that I can’t wallow in my self-pity and move forward to fight the darkness and love my family at the same time.”
Princess Celestia smiled, “You really have changed.”
Prince Sun dancer looked at princess Astra then said, “I have to learn to be a good father.”
The chariot came down from the sky with two guards and then she as they parked in front of them Prince Sun dancer and princess Celestia got on and they flew through the air together with princess Astra.
