Rainbow Dash paced back and forth in the locker room, she was thinking hard on why Spitfire had that nickname. Rainbow Dash raced down the hall and to the captain's office, she noticed the door was slightly ajar, so she stepped inside. Spitfire didn't seem to be bothered by her, she was looking down at a clipboard.
"What ya want Crash?" Spitfire said, her eyes still glued to the clipboard.
"I was wondering how you got that nickname..." Rainbow trailed off as she looked at a wonderbolt poster.
"You have time for a stupid story?"
"Yes ma'am!"
Spitfire raced across the clear blue sky, Soarin was trying to catch up to her, "Dude, if you don't hurry we'll be late!" She called, She didn't want to be late for their first day as Wonderbolts!
"Sorry!" Soarin flapped his wings faster until they made a buzzing sound.
Spitfire did several loops in the air, the wind passing through her main in rushes. She turned around to see Soarin as he grew closer to her with each second. She laughed as she turned and landed on a cloud just above the Wonderbolt HQ runway.
Soarin landed next to her and tried to regain his breath, this was why you don't practise your entrance for seven hours. She looked away from him and to the pavement that made up the runway, Earhart, the Wonderbolt captain motioned for them to come down. Spitfire shot to the ground like the first bullet from a brand new gun, Soarin followed slowly behind.
"Ok you two Newbies, we'll start with a tour of the compound." Earhart replied as she turned around and motioned for them to follow her.
Spitfire stared in fangirlish wonder, Earhart had been her idol ever since she could possibly remember! Most ponies thought she idolized her dad, as he was the co captain of the wonderbolts, but Earhart of one of the first female captains! Spitfire wanted to be the second one.
"Can we do the tour later? My dad showed us around last month. I wanna fly!" Spitfire grinned.
"Alright then, we can wait for the others to get here and then you both can show just what great fliers you are." Earhart seemed a little bit annoyed.
"You think she had a bad day or something?" Soarin whispered to Spitfire quickly. She nodded in response.
Suddenly six ponies flew into the HQ, they did super crazy swirls in midair before landing gracefully. Spitfire grinned at Soarin as Earhart walked to the other wonderbolts. Earhart turned around to face her and Soarin.
"Ok, we'll start with Soarin, show us what you got." Earhart said.
Soarin flew up slowly, his wings must have still been a little sore He raced across the sky, suddenly he gasped when his wing was clipped by a flag poll, he flew to the ground and knocked over a trash can. Once everypony was sure he was ok, everyone but Spitfire laughed.
"Good going Clipper." Spitfire's dad, Eagle joked.
"Oh hey that's a good nickname." Spitfire grinned.
"Lets see if you can do better." Her dad returned the grin.
Spitfire jetted into the air, a fire coloured trail lead behind her. Spitfire dive bombed the other wonderbolts as a tese. She then flew to the ground for a perfect landing, suddenly instead of resting her hooves on the cold pavement, she felt the soft and squishy peel of a banana.
She was to confused to fly away and slipped, she flopped onto the grass. She blinked as she looked at the sky for a few minutes. Soarin helped her up and smiled. Spitfire began to dust herself off, she then looked at her dad, his face held a grin.
She sat down, waiting for somepony to give her a nickname. Suddenly Soarin grinned, "How's about Slipfire."
"You're a jerk." Spitfire growled.
"Hey don't judge me Slipfire."
That night Slipfire snuck out and tried to practice a stunt that would rid her of that nickname. She flew in circles and destroyed clouds with force. Suddenly Soarin stepped outside and waved to her. She ignored him.
"Spitfire come on!" Soarin flew next to her, "If it makes you happy I won't call you Slipfire anymore."
"That doesn't help!" She growled, "I though we were friends, but you gave me that dumb nickname."
"You laughed at mine."
"That's different!"
"How?" Soarin glared at her.
Spitfire tried to think of an answer to that question, she looked at the floor. Soarin held her chin and smiled, "Hey, I'm sorry about the nickname."
"You sure?" Spitfire tried to not look him in the eyes.
"Yes." He leaned forward and-
Rainbow Dash uttered a low growl that interrupted the story. Spitfire stared at her with confusion, it took her a moment to understand, "Oh yeah...you and Soarin are dating now..."
"You could have warned me."
"Yeah but this makes it funnier." Spitfire grinned.
"It does not!"
"Does too!"
"Does what?" Soarin came into the room.
Rainbow looked at him and then to Spitfire. The cyan mare grinned and then kissed Soarin hard on the lips, he stood there in shock. The kiss lasted for about a minute, once it was over, Rainbow Dash raced out of the room.
Soarin looked to Spitfire for some explanation, she fell out of her chair with laughter, "What's so funny?" Soarin asked.
"Its not important now." Spitfire stood up and climbed back into her chair.
Soarin raised an eyebrow before walking back into the hall to look for Rainbow Dash. Let's just say, long story short, ever since Slipfire became captain, nopony is allowed to call her Slipfire again, unless they wanna lose their jobs. And that's how this narrator got fired.

she gave the nickname, I wrote the fanfic!
The soarinfire in this is really somewhat a joke, but I do have some friends who like it...it's not my ship but hey, it was fun to add. I can see myself maybe enjoying this ship in the future...
And then I realized, I'm possibly good at Spitfire fanfics...what do you guys think?
