My Little Pony : The Next Generation
Have you ever wanted to accomplish something so badly that you'd risk everything for it? Have you ever felt like a peace of you is missing, like something is eating up your sol because of unknown answer? Have you felt like...like...your life depends on learning the truth? Have you ever felt the urge to tell somepony that what they believe in is a lie? even if that somepony is close to you? Well I have. In fact,I had to lie to everypony around me that I believe in something I clearly didn't. What made it worse is that the lie meant everything to my family, especially my mom. It wasn't easy, but all that's behind me now, I'm one step away from finding out the truth. Now, because of the unknown consequences of the truth being unpredictable, mining that I don't even know if I 'll make it out alive, I am writing this diary, so that everyone knows what I have went through, so everyone knows the pane I felt, the risks I took, the challenges I passed all for this...but boy was it worth it, and everyone will see that, just as soon as I finish this diary witch hopefully won't take too long. I'll start at the beginning, my name is Aurora Shimmer--sorry!--Princess* Aurora Shimmer, daughter of Princess Twilight Sparkle the Princess of friendship, and Sunset Shimmer. I also have a step brother, his name is Dawn Sentry son of my mom Princess Twilight and Flash Sentry who used to be married but got divorced five years after having Dawn. When mom got married to my other mom Sunset Shimmer, Dawn refused to take "Shimmer" as his last name witch is way his last name is still Sentry. Anyway, what had captured my interest back then is the so called "Magic of Friendship" witch had remind the talk of the town until today. I asked my mom about what it meant and her answer was one bit to superstitious for me to accept, I mean seriously! what was explained to me made no since at all! and I for one don't believe in anything that doesn't make since. So I started investigating the kind of magic the elements possessed. I started with my mom and her friends, and what I found out broth me to the theory that when the elements formed on there necks back when they first stopped Nightmare Moon, the magic the elements possessed passed on to my mom and her friends, something like a virus can pass from one pony to another. But I could only go as far as that with what I found out by investigating them, what I didn't realize back then was that I was looking at the wrong place, and that the real key to the answers to all my questions was staring me right in the face, and that was my brother and his friends, this is how it all went down...*
It all started on nice and worm spring morning. It was around eight pm when the morning sunlight hit Aurora's eyes. They slowly twitched, as they began to sutter open. The first thing she saw was Celestia's sun rising from the east, she had an amazing view of it from her window. Rory smiled as she slightly yawned and got out of bed
"Another day has begin, alongside new opportunities for me..."
There weren't many times of witch she wasn't thinking about the kind of magic the elements had and how it worked. She fell asleep with that same thought every night, and woke up with it in the morning. You can say she was oppressed. She looked towards the messed up bed sheets and yawned again
"Better fix that.." She thought
A light blue aurora formed around her horn as she used her magic to make her bed.
"Steady..all nice and easy...and...done!" she said to herself
She looked at her now made up bed with proud eyes. She smiled to herself as she slowly started walking away from her room and towards the dining room down stairs for breakfast. Down stares her mom, Twilight, had just made a fresh batch of chocolate pancakes with syrup for breakfast and was putting them down on the dining room table, alongside a glass of milk for everypony.
"Morning Twi" Sunset Shimmer, Aurora's other mom said as she too walked towards the dining room for breakfast.
"Good morning honey!" Twilight Sparkle replied as she planted a sweet kiss on Sunset's lips.
"You taste like cinnamon!" She commented with a slight laugh "I like it..." she added as she liked her lips.
The princess chuckled "Well in that case I'm going to eat some cinnamon every da--" Aurora interrupted her with her entrance the room
"--Oh! Good morning Rory!"
Sunset turned around to face her daughter "Morning Aurora! Ready for breakfast?" she asked her. Rory nodded her head
"Sure am" she said . Suddenly, the smell of freshly baked chocolate pancakes hit her "Umhm! Smells delicious ! Can't wait to dig in!" Rory said as she liked her lips and bounced up her chair, piking a fork and a knife with her magic, ready to start eating.
"Not just yet Rory, Dawn hasn't woken up yet" Twilight said to her.
Rory's pupils shrunk, and the fork and knife I was levitating dropped to the table with a loud shatter her my magic stopped. Aurora turned her head towards them, wearing a shocked expression "Dawn's here?! Since when?!"
"Since last night, you went to bed early remember? he came an hour ore so after" Sunset said
"But way?! today is Monday! he stays here from Wednesday to Saturday!" she stated
"Were not sure...It came as a surprise to the two of us as well," Twilight said to her daughter
"He came rather late and when he did, he just said a blank hello, and went straight to his room, I came bay to check on him not to late after his arrival, but his room was looked" Sunset said
Rory razed an eyebrow "That sound oddly peculiar...I know Dawn isn't a guy of meany words, and likes to keep his privacy and all, but to just come so unexpectedly, late at night and not say anything but a flat hello? It makes no since! Something is definitely up!" Rory stated
"It sure is...and were about to find out!" Twilight said as hoofsteps were heard coming from the staircase. It was Dawn, he looked rather tiered. His mane was a total mess! and so was he...the normally grumpy stallion was looking worse then ever. But what was most surprising was the fact that he was wearing sunglasses.
"Dawn...?"
"A-are you okay son?" Twilight asked. He calmly passed by them both and made his way towards a seat at the table
"Yeah, I'm fine" he said as if everything was perfectly normal "Cool, pancakes" he said as he started eating his batch.
Aurora eyed him curiously, wail her moms gave a questionable glance at each other, then turned back towards Dawn. He remained chewing his food for a good minute before looking back up, still wearing his sunglasses, and swallowed his chunk of food before asking "What? Is there something on my face?"
"Um yes actually" Sunset said "Way are you wearing sunglasses if I may ask?"
He tuck a sip of his glass of milk before answering " No particular reason, just, I don't know... felt like it?" he gave an unconvincing answer.
"Mind if you take them off for a bit?" Rory asked
"No, I'm good" He said as he resumed eating his pancakes
"Dawn.Take the sunglasses off. Now." Twilight said in a serious tone.
He gave a heavy sight before using his magic to take the glasses off, reviling a black eye. The three of the all gasped
"Dawn! What happened?!" Sunset asked him with concern.
He groaned "Nothing, It was an accident..."
"Doesn't seem like any accident to me! Now spill it! who did this to you?" Twilight asked
"I told you! It was an accident!" he gave the same answer
Twilight sight "Dose your father know?"
He flopped his ears down and gave a pout.
"Dawn, I asked you if your father knows about--Dawn a-are you...crying?" she stopped, noticing tears forming around his eyes.
"He didn't do this to you did he?!" Sunset asked.
"No! Of course not! B-but we did have a fight, and I ended up accidentally hurting myself...I-i couldn't stay there for the night, not only was what I did embarrassing, but I was really mad at him, and I still am!" He stated
"Well that explains it, I'd still rather not have him here tho..." Rory thought
Twilight gave another heavy sight "Well...you enjoy breakfast okay? after that you should get ready for school and--"
"NO! I am not showing up in front of everypony looking like this! Please mom, don't make me!" he pleaded.
"Wow! I think that's the very first time he ever pleaded his whole life!"
"Dawn, that black eye will stay for at lest a week, you can't miss school for that long!" Twilight told him
"Just watch me"
Twilight groaned "Look! I don't have the time to deal with this right now! I have a meeting with the mayor in 15 minuets at town hall, you can miss school for today okay? We'll discus more on the topic when I get back, in the meantime, have breakfast and take Rory to school"
He rolled his eyes" I don't think there's anything to discus here, but fine" he agreed
"Good, now I have to go, bye everyone" Twilight said before kissing her daughter on the cheek and heeding towards the exit.
"Bye honey!"
"See ya mom!"
"What ever..."
"So...You got into a fight and out of frustration ran face first into a door?" Rory asked her brother. On his way to bringing her tO school, he told her the story of how he got that black eye.
"Yes" He nodded
"HAHAHAHA!" Aurora burst out laughing "Really?! Wow, I never knew you were so clumsy Dawn!" She said recovering from her laughter.
Dawn rolled his eyes "Yeah well, it happened okay? And I'd like to forget about it, so if you don't mind could you not mentioned it? Please."
Rory giggled " Hah, sure thing Mr. Clumsy" She teased.
"Ha-ha, very funny Auro--Ugh!" He got cut of as somepony bumped into him, knocking them both down.
"Ugh..." He started scratching his head "a-are you alright miss--" He looked towards the mare whom bumped into him only to gasp at who it was "WINDY?!"
The light cerulean known as Windy Skies shook her head to gain concentration before looking up at the gamboge stallion in front f her "Dawn?" She smiled "Dawn! Wow, it's been a wail since I have seen you! What have ya' been up to?"
"Studding at the Crystal Empire, you know, wizard in training and all...heh, Starburst has me doing all sort of tuff new spells recently" He replied, getting up on his hoofs.
"Yeah, how are he and Starlight doing? It's been a wail since I'we seen them, Starbeam too" She said
"Yeah, doing fine. Same old same old"
She giggled "Well that's good to hear!... Say, what brings you to Ponyville? I don't remember you going out of the castle during your stays...and what happened to your eye?" She asked
He sight as his ears flopped down "It's a long story, but I think I'll be staying here for a wail, I'm having some issues with my dad so...yeah. As for what I'm doing now, I'm just taking my little step sis to school since she clearly is incapable of doing so herself" He said the last part with sarcasm.
"Hey! I perfectly capable of going to school by myself! It's not my fault that moms over protective!" Rory argued
Windy chuckled "Don't worry Rory, I know how you fell"
"You do?" Dawn and Rory said in union
Windy nodded "I sure do!, when I was your age, my dad used to take me everywhere! I was almost never alone!"
"Interesting. I never took Soarin for the type, I always thought he was all laid back and cool, like aunt Rainbow" Dawn said
"Oh he was nothing like my mom, don't get me wrong he is by far the coolest dad ever! But he has this thing for being overprotective about things delicate to him until he is certain they are capable of going on without him,"
"Those he do the same things to Glider now?" Rory asked
"No, I'm not sure way but he's not as overprotective about my brother now as he used to be with me"
"Well you were his first child" Dawn stated
"Yeah I guess that makes since" Windy said scratching her chin.
"Anyway, how are the rest of the gang?" Dawn aked
Aurora looked at him with a raised eyebrow " 'The gang'?"
"Yeah, me, Windy, Sunshine, Crystal, Armstrong, and Coco used to be something like a gang" Dawn said to her
"Yep! we used to hang out at a tree house in the apple orchard" Windy said
"Way?"
"We gathered up every day at the tree house, and tried to find ways to earn our cutie marks" Dawn said
"Hehe, do you remember how impatient we were to get our marks?" Windy questioned with a slight laugh
Dawn laughed as well "Yeah! Oh remember the time I thought that we should tray getting our cutie marks at skydiving?!"
"Yep! I will never get Crystal Rhythm's screaming out of my head!" Windy joked
"Me nether!"
"Hey, speaking of which" Windy started, getting Dawns attention "The five of us are gathering up at Sugarcube Corner latter this evening, want to come along? I'm sure everypony will be very happy to see you"
Dawn thought about it "I don't think I--"
"Don't bother wasting your time Windy, my brother here is a total loner, hanging out with friends is not his stile anymore. Besides, he'd only ruin your evening with his negativity anyway" Rory commented
Dawn huffed "I'm not a loner, and I do not ruin ponies day with my negative behavior, witch I do not have! And as matter of fact I will go to meet my old friends, thank you very much" Dawn said
"Great! I'll see you at Sugarcube Corner at 2 o'clock then! Bye Dawn, bye Rory!" Windy said wail slowly flaying away
Dawn let go a heavy sight "Bye Windy...What did I get myself into?"
