At the year 10XX,ponies were in danger of the dragOn threat.It WAS peaceful back then,but the dragon emperor wanted to have a valuable artifact that the ponies had.It's said whoever wields this artifact,gains immense power,enough to cross dimensions,universes,and many more god like powers.This artifact has the souls of many powerful ponies,alicorns,and many more powerful beings.They were even going to use the power of the artifact to create a powerful weapon,that will help spread friendship across the lands.Though,as you can tell,there won't be any more friendship...at least on the surface.

So...welcome to thy alternate world..of...

PONYTALE

Our timeline brings us to a battlefield held up to what used to be Ponyville.The once colorful,nice ponies,energetic fillies,was now dull,no more friendship was there,no children...just war,and cries of agony or enjoyment.

"Captain!Our troops are dying quick from those dragons!."A male voice yelled across the barren dark battlefield

"Ah know Private Forest Hazel,but we need to keep that artiFact safe,until they safely get that thing in the cave,we can retreat."

Cries of pain grew louder,though the soldiers did not give up hope.Some of them managed to get a few dragon soldiers,but it wasn't enough to stop the dragon army.Some soldiers didn't want to face their death,and ran.Some were overcome by anger,and fought without mercy.

Some were trying to keep calm,showing fierce strikes with their strength,and casting magical spells to kill,damage or weaken them at least.

Finally,the Captain got a message through her intercom.

"Captain of the Royal Guard,we have safely esCorted the artifact to the cave,retreat now!"

"Got'cha,everypony,retreat back to base!"

The soldiers in the front lines couldn't escape the dragon horde,but at least 50 of them escaped with the captain.The captain sighed in anger,sadness,and relief.She had lost valuable soldiers in the battle,she was agitated that the dragons killed with their blood lust,and she was relieved that she escaped not by herself,but at least with others.She walked into a cave that seemed empty,with no sound,and surely no living things would be down there.

Though,when she walked in far enough into it,it was bustling with ponies.However,all were doing work,trying to grow food,help the soldiers with wounds,or any other things they can do for the sake of their lives.

"Well...it beats being out there."The captain said as she sat in her small quarters,looking at a photo.

"...Ah will miss ya all..."

"ARRRRGH!"A lOud voice bellowed,causing the empty halls to shake.The voice came from a massive blood red dragon,with eyes full of anger and hate.A dragon with dark blue scales trembled slightly under his leader's voice,trying to calm his mind.

"W-We tried to get it,but the ponies were blocking the-"The blue-scaled dragon was interrupted by his leader.

"I DON'T CARE,YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO GET THE ARTIFACT!"The voice of the massive dragon boomed.

The dragon knew he was going to die if he didn't say any good things,then an idea popped into his head."S-Sir,d-despite us not getting the artifact...we can do another...option."

The loud,deep,and angry voice was going to answer him in vain,but took a deep breath,and relaxed slightly."...Tell me...now."A voice of impatience said.

The  aquamarine dragon cleared his throat"W-We can try to trap them in the place where they are holding out.We have a extremely powerful pony held hostage.If we force him to make a barrier that traps anyone of the ponies inside the barrier."

The dragon leader's eyes widened with curiosity,but turned his eyes back to it's original state."And what makes you think that pony will do that for us?"

The dragon responded after a second of silence."I already broke him,he's nothing more than a tool right now."

The deep voice chUckled quietly."Alright,but make sure he dies afterwards."

"My pleasure,sir."

A few more steps were heard,a door closing itself.It would not be long that the ponies will be trapped underground for a long time.TheRe would be no eScape from the underground if you were a pony,he just had to wait,but for how long will he have to wait?He sighed in irritation.He will have to wait,and let time tell.

"What's happening!?"A mare's voice of distress screamed.

"Didn't they say we were hidden?!"A colt's voice yelled in shock.

"They aren't coming in here for some reason."A calm voice spoke.

"T-They could be preparing a plan to torture us!"A filly's voice whimpered.

"No,they're casting a spell."The calm voice spoke again.

"W-why the heck are you so calm about this!?"A voice that spat venom at the calm voice in disgust and anger.

"Because they won't hurt us."The calm voice said without any difficulties.

"Are you broken or something,they ARE going to KILL US ALL!"A sobbing voice of a teen mare cried across the underground.

"They won't,because the magic they're using is a barrier spell."The calming voice seems to affect the voice around it.

"A barrier that would prevent us to use magic or our weapons?"The once shocked colt asked

"No,that's a blocking spell but it's...something else."The calm voice predicted what was going to happen soon.

"What is it then!?"A voice of impatience and worry spoke weakly.

"...To prevent us from seeing the surface again."The voice said,no longer retaining it's calming sound.

The ponies were sealed underground for a long time,however everyone just forgot about them,including the Dragon Emperor.They thought it was now pointless,they ruled the surface,what else was there to do?However,the myth of a dragon going down into Mt.Ebott will never return,was a certain kind of challenge to youngsters.Often young 'tough dragons' said that no one else can go into Mt.Ebott and come back alive.Though,a certain drake walked into a opening in the largE mountain.

A small purple-scaled dragon with green eyes walked slowly with precaution "C-C'mon Spike,you can do this."
