Chapters Shining woke with a jolt. The cold, dark dungeons weren't exactly the quietest of places, or the most comfortable either. He shuffled uncomfortably and squinted around his tiny cell, trying to make out as much as he could of his dark surroundings. Sombra had been the new King for a week now, but all Shining had seen of his reign was from the cell he was currently sat in, with the occasional visits from a less than pleasant guard. The day Sombra regained power Shining had been dragged to the dungeon, stripped, gagged and chained sat down with his arms stretched above him. The cold, heavy chains had begun to feel like a part of him, digging in to his tender wrists. His jaw had become numb from the gag a few days back, the only relief from it given when the guard force fed him some horrible grey slop. That was one of the things he missed from before his capture, other than his wife, was a well cooked meal and soft bed...
Shining's reminiscing was suddenly interrupted by a bright light shining into his eyes from above, making him close his eyes and twist his head to the side to avoid the sudden exposure. The light burned his eyes that had become accustomed to the darkness as his least favourite guard slowly approached, a wide and uncharacteristic grin spread across his smug face.
"Good morning!" he pinched the Princes cheek and forced him to look up at his captor "It's your lucky day, boy"
Shining snorted out of his nose and looked his eyes away. He was used to the guards attempts at getting him to react, and when he did it usually ended in a punch. He'd learnt that quick enough. He was interested in why it was his so called lucky day however, so he decided to humour him with a raise of his eyebrow.
The guard let out a low chuckle, looking down the toned and masculine body restrained infront of him, running a hand slowly down Shining's muscular chest, much to Shining's disapproval "unfortunately you're not going to be my little plaything anymore..." he pouts, his hand making its way to Shining's flaccid yet impressive penis and giving it a long stroke "But I have a feeling you'll wish you could come and visit me again, right?"

The guard whistles and two more appear behind him, carrying chains over their shoulders and spears in their arms, pointing them at the Prince. He let himself chuckle a little. They must really fear him i it took this many guys just to get him from the ground to his feet...
The guard took a small key from his belt and removed the shackles holding Shining's wrists above his head, setting him free to rub his saw and raw wrists, groaning softly at the pain.
"Up" grunted the guard, his sword at the ready. They really were scared of the Prince they'd betrayed so quickly.
He slowly and shakily got to his feet, using the wall for support. His legs suddenly gave way, but he was quick to grab the bars to stay on his feet. The guard place a hand on his shoulder and the point of his sword on the small of his back. The sharpness and coldness of the blade made him skip a breath, his naked body making his cheeks burn lightly around the three other stallions as he was led to a small tiled room with a drain in the centre.
The guard pushed Shining hard in the back, sending him sprawling across the floor. "Stand with your palms against the wall, legs spread" he grunts, lifting shining by his hair and pushing him against the wall, kicking his legs wide.
The Prince shuddered softly, placing his palms flat against the cold tiles and spreading his legs. Shining shuddered. He would kill someone just to go back to his cell and be left alone. He never though he'd want that so much. However he definitely wasn't going to let them see too much submission, refusing to put his hands behind his back, instead growling at the guard next to him.
The guard looked at his two comrades, before all three of them burst into laughter at Shining's pathetic attempt at defiance. It was hard to take the stallion seriously, standing soaking, naked and gagged after willingly presenting himself to them. The guard slapped the prisoner hard over the back of the head, before forcing his hands behind his back and shackling them together. "Do that again, and I'll cut your horn off it and shove it where the sun don't shine"
Shining gulped and looked up at his already encased horn. They'd been quick to lock it up after he'd been captured. He decided to test the shackles, realising his wrists weren't parting anytime soon. He could do nothing as a thick, steel collar was placed around his neck and secured by a bolt at the back of his neck before being pushed again in the small of the back, this time towards the staircase up and out of the dungeon. He was suddenly filled with fear. Being marched naked and bound was humiliating, yes, but where was the destination? Was this it? Was he going to be executed?
The guard sensed his fear and prodded him in the back with his spear "Keep walking, scum"
Shining tensed and looked around. The corridors of his old castle were familiar, but unrecognisable too. Something about them seemed... Different... and not just the decorations. All around him was a chill and inbred natural fear, making him feel as if he should be running. He didn't know where, but he sure as hell shouldn't be here, his instincts were screaming. His blush grew as he passed guards and staff that used to be loyal, all of them taking a long look at their former ruler. It made him sick in his stomach to see these traitors around him, they were all so quick to abandon him and join Sombra.
The walk continued for a few minutes through the corridors and along staircases until the small group reached a large and extravagant wooden door with black metal features at the very top of the castle. A dark magic radiated from the room, a more powerful feeling Shining had sense walking through the castle. He really didn't want to be near this room, but he already knew what was on the other side of the door as the guards slowly opened the doors. Shining was lead in by a hand around the collar, before having the back of his knees kicked to sent him onto his knees on the floor.

Shining winced as the large wooden doors slammed shut behind him, his eyes fixated on the armour clad feet infront of him. However these boots weren't the normal ones worn by Guards, these were black and embellished with rich gold leaf curling its way from the ankle and up the shin. Shining's gaze followed the gold up the shin, eventually making eye contact with a grinning King Sombra.
The King had wasted no time making himself regal, draped head to toe in black steel armour with the gold leaf trim features, including an extravagant and over the top crown resting atop his head. As much as Shining hated the stallion and all that he had done, he couldn't help but feel impressed by his confidence and the power he radiated. This didn't stop him wanting to beat the confidence out of him, and he was sure he would be able to if not for the restraints.
The King only chuckled, looking at his muscular prisoner "Why don't we just calm down, and have a little discussion?" Sombra seemed calm, but Shining knew he had a ruthless and brutal streak should it rear its ugly head. It was probably best for him to keep Sombra happy until he had a chance to figure out an escape.
Sombra poured himself a glass of wine and stood infront of Shining, removing the gag and drinking his beverage and taking in every inch of the stallions handsome body before finally speaking "So. How has your stay been so far? Not too bad I hope"
Shining glared at the king "How do you think?" he grunted, not wanting to humour the King.
"Well, they once were your dungeons, no? That's poor design on your part, not mine. Perhaps you should have done a better job"
Shining could tell the king was toying with him, so decided to just ignore the comment, instead deciding to look away. In a flash Sombra was there, a vice grip on the Princes cheeks and forcing him to make eye contact "It is common courtesy to look your King in the eye and respond when he talks to you." he growled.
Shining glared back at the bigger stallion, before spitting into his face "You're no King. You're sick"
Sombra's past calmness was gone, and an air of anger and viciousness descended on the cold, dark room. Sombra squeezed tighter on the stallions cheeks, using his strength to lift him into the air, legs dangling limply below him. "I'm more than you'll ever be! Just you wait. You'll be begging me to let you be my little bitch"
Shining suddenly felt himself being thrown, landing in a heap on the cold stone floor hard. Winded, he tried to at least try to defend himself and get up, but before he could even think of doing so Sombra was atop him again, holding his head to the floor with the sole of one of the metal boots as a gloved hand reached down and pulled his entire rear end up, leaving Shining in an extremely exposed position. "Lets have our little talk like this then, shall we?" Sombra pushed down with his foot, squeezing Shinings face against the floor.
Shining stopped squirming, squeezing his eyes closed and sucking in air through clenched teeth.

Shining's heart dropped. Sombra could do anything to him and he wouldn't care, but lay a finger on those two? He could never forgive himself if he let something happen to them. "You'd better not touch either!" He yelled "I'll kill you!". He began squirming again, getting nowhere fast.
Sombra only laughed. "Thats where you come in, Shining. If you're a good little boy, I'll make sure they're treated right. You may even get to see them occasionally. If not? Well... The guards are always begging me for a girl in the guard's quarters to have some fun with... Imagine their faces when I present them with two princesses"
Shining gritted his teeth and tried to look defiant, but he knew it wouldn't work. Sombra had him right where he wanted him, he knew Shining would never let anything happen to those two to the best of his ability. He sighed "W-what is it you want me to do..."
Sombra grinned. How perfect this had turned out for him. "I want a personal slave. Sure, I could have anyone of those lot out there, but you're special. The old Prince as my slave? Now theres a story" He grins, applying a little more pressure to his boot.

Shining had been in his position for three days now, but was nowhere near to being used to it. He was currently on his daily trek from Sombra's chambers to the kitchen to retrieve the King's breakfast, one of his many new jobs. He knew Sombra had maids and staff to do it for him, but Shining suspected the only reason he was made to do so was to humiliate him further, forcing the stallion to walk naked and in chains to the kitchens, past the hundreds of castle staff. His humiliation didn't end there, however, as he was forced to waddle with a thick butt plug firmly inside his anus and a thick brown leather collar around his neck. Many a time he had contemplated running away when he had the chance, but where could he go? Even if he could find a sympathiser, he knew he would almost certainly be condemning his wife, and maybe his sister if Sombra actually had her too.
The worst part of his position, surprisingly, wasn't Sombra. It was the way the guards, his former guards, treated him. But, again to Shinings dismay, they were everywhere and there was no escaping them.
As Shining was approaching the kitchens, a guard stopped him, grinning wide "9:02 Shining. You're late"

Shining gritted his teeth. There was only so much abuse he could take from such a traitor. "I can tell you she is enjoyable" He growled, trying to stay as civil as possible.

A small crowd of servants were forming around the two, muttering between themselves. Shining suddenly felt very exposed, starting to make his way away from the crowd as a squad of four guards, fully clad in armour arrived on the scene, spotting the injured comrade and grabbing a standerby "Who did this?" he barked in her face
"S-Shining Armour!" She whimpered, pointing at the stallion trying to sneak away.
The guard dropped the mare with little care, grabbing Shining's collar and yanking him backwards "you've done it now" he growls, punching him hard in the gut and sending him to a crippled and winded heap to the ground.
Before long Shining was blindfolded, gagged and bound, a rough hand on his shoulder leading him to his destiny. He had no idea where he was going, but he suspected it was back to Sombra before a cold breeze hit his naked body. "Mmpf?!" he struggled.
The guard jabbed him hard with the blunt part of his spear, urging him on "Walk, slave!'
He cried out and complied, walking forwards and being directed by his captor. He was suddenly stopped and his arms stretched out above him, chained that way as his legs were kicked open and those too restrained wide. The light from the day burned his eyes as the blindfold was ripped off, taking his eyes a few moments to adjust to the surrounding. When he did finally realise where he was, it terrified him. He had been chained to a tall wooden post that had been erected below the balcony of the castle, designed for public floggings. Shining had never actually seen it, but had overheard guards exchanging stories.
There was a substantial crowd around the platform he was on, obviously a big occasion for the population of the captured city. Shining thought there could be at least 75,000 out to see him publicly beaten and humiliated.
A voice from the balcony made him snap out of it, instantly recognising Sombra's harsh and dominant tone.
"Today, we are all gathered here to observe the stallion that you once called Prince be brought to justice for the assault of a member of the King's guard!"
The crowd, surprisingly, jeered and booed Shining
Sombra grinned "Now. He has already agreed to be my personal slave, and is eager to please"
Theres an eerie silence in the square, people looking between each other. Surely that was a lie?
"But no-one is above the law. To demonstrate my care and love for my wonderful citizens I will give you a display of force and punishment!" He nodded to the guard behind Shining, who quickly lashed at Shining's back with a long whip, eliciting a scream from the stallion.
Lash after lash landed on the back of the poor stallion as the crowd watched on, and Sombra grinned from his balcony.

Shining cried quietly to himself. He was cold, wet and his back hurt like nothing had before. He'd been flogged, then left chained to the post overnight through a cold Crystal Empire winter night. He predicted it was about 7am by the position of the sun, but the courtyard was more or less empty, a few people passing by and entering the castle every now and then. He grabs his mane and pulls his head up "I wasn't expecting a perfect slave, but I was expecting you to care about your wife and sister. Shame they'll be executed by tomorrow"
"W-WHAT?! N-no, please! I'll do anything" He looks pleadingly up at the King
He shakes his head "You disobeyed, and they shall pay the price. That is how the law works" He grabbed his horn and held eye contact "Unless..."
"Unless what? I'll do it!"
He grins "I want you to declare yourself as my slave, and pledge allegiance to me infront of my court"
To Shining, pledging allegiance meant a lot. Doing so meant he would follow every order, and do everything in his power to serve and protect whomever he pledged to. It was an easier decision though, if it was what he had to do to protect his family he would. "Y-yes... I'll do it"
Sombra grinned. This was excellent. Having Shining as his own, and having him pledge allegiance was perfect. Shining was a stallion of his word and wouldn't break it before he died."Very good Shining. I trust you will keep to your word, or face death"
"Of course. As is the soldier's code"

Shining frowned. This Sombra was scarier than the other, even though he was being... nice "uh... Thanks?" he could tell Sombra was planning something. "What is it you want? You're being nice"
He laughed "I can beat you if you want. But you're being good. So you get rewarded, and so does your family" Seeing Shining's curious look he decided to explain. "When you're bad, like earlier, both you and your family are punished. But being good? You can earn rewards" He chuckled, ruffling Shining's mane "Keep it up and I'll let Twilight and Cadence have a nice room in the castle"
He nodded. Shining was beginning to understand. Although it was extremely humiliating and degrading, he wanted the best for the two mares so he'd just have to play along "Ok... I get you"
"Good. Now lie face down"

The Allegiance

However, he wasn't left thinking long as the doors opened, revealing what looks like a court room, at the far end sat Sombra on a throne, and the sides leading up to it were full of lines of people there to spectate and contribute to whatever the days issues happened to be. Shining's heart sank as he was pushed in the back, encouraging him to step forwards. The entire room was silent as the naked stallion, the ex-prince, walked towards the now King of the Crystal Empire. The hundreds of people followed every step of the Princes embarrassment until he finally reached the bottom of the stairs to Sombras throne.
Sombra grinned, looking around the room and finally at his slave. "Approach, Shining Armour... Slave to the King"
Shining took a long breath and slowly ascended the steps to the foot of the throne, looking over the King with defeated eyes.
"Kneel before your king"
He gulped, dropping to his knees and bowing his head.
"Good." Sombra nodded "Now. We are all here today for one thing" He slowly looked down at the stallion on his knees before him "Your old Prince, Shining Armour, is here to pledge his allegiance to I, King Sombra, and accept his position as Slave to the King, devoting this day, and every other day to the servitude of myself" He grinned, bringing an armour clad boot to the stallions balls and resting them on it.
"Y-Yes my King..."
"Get on with it" He waved a hoof dismissively, keeping his foot in place.
Shining closed his eyes to prevent anyone seeing his tears, his body shuddering slightly "I... Shining Armour, pledge my allegiance to you, King Sombra of the Crystal Empire, until my very last breath"
Sombra suddenly had a wicked grin, his horn lighting up as he stood, removing Shinings old collar with magic and replacing it with a black and purple one tightly around his neck. "Excellent! Now that you have stated it, the collar will ensure you follow it" He grins mischievously. "Refuse an order and go against your king? then you'd better prepare yourself for more pain than you can ever have imagined" He laughs, slapping the stallion hard and pushing him backwards "Now show yourself to the court! Let them touch, feel, see what a Kings slave is! For that is all you are, Shining"
Shining cried openly as he made his way to the crowds, hands all over his body.

Shining sat silently next to King Sombra as he took court. It had been a few weeks since he'd sworn allegiance to Sombra, his life becoming a constant and unfiltered routine. Wake up, have to lie there as Sombra teased and mocked him whilst using him as he saw fit, retrieve the kings breakfast, receive another rutting if Sombra was especially horny that day, then follow him about on his daily ventures whatever they may be. Ive just got it redecorated" He chuckles and sits up, leaning forwards "Heres my proposition. You leave and never come back. Forget Shining Armour, forget Cadence, forget this Empire... The Prince found his way to the edge of town and took a breath of fresh air, looking out into the cold, dark snow desert lying before him. The next two days were going to be long, hard and painful, but worth the reward. He could already feel Cadence's lips - taking the first step onto the thick snow.
Suddenly the Prince felt a splitting pain coursing through his head, as if someone had poured acid onto his brain and it was slowly eating away at it - he was swiftly on his knees, the curled up on his side in a ball in the snow, blinking hard and crying out as the pain intensified, focusing behind his eyes, which went blurry, seeing double... triple... quadruple... The white stallion could just make out a tall, impending black figure above him before blacking out.
Shining woke as a bucket of ice water was thrown over him, the prince instantly awake and kicking. His chest rose and fell rapidly as he took in his surroundings - he was in a dark, cold brick room, what he recognised as the Crystal Empire dungeons. He was naked, suspended in the air by his wrists, shackled and chained to the roof, his legs held apart by similar chains. On his head was what made him freeze. Before him stood a grinning Sombra, flanked by two guards, one holding a mirror. In the reflection he saw himself, except his head was encased in a heavy iron mask, welded shut on one side - he could only see out of thin eye slits for now, but noticed a visor that was presumably to cut off his vision. There was no mouth hole on the mask, and his tongue was held down by a mouth full of metal, his teeth resting in a mould cast of his mouth.
Sombra took one step forward "I'm disappointed, honestly. However I always knew that no matter how hard I tried, you'd attempt to leave." He lifted the small bust of himself that had been attached to Shining's collar, the amethyst eye glowing "You should've appreciated what you had, not got greedy and gone looking for more" He sighed and nodded slowly, turning and leaving, the guards following on his flanks as the door closed and the room was returned to pitch black.
"Goodbye, Prince Shining Armour"

I am so sorry to those that have followed this story for taking so long to write this chapter and the sudden finale, but I got back from holiday, then moved to uni! This means I'll either have loads of time to write or none at all, coming and going. I hope you've all enjoyed this 'story' as much as I have enjoyed writing it - however I cannot stress enough that I write because I enjoy doing so, and can only apologise if anyone wants otherwise.
I'm probably going to finish off Pegasi First, and have another idea in my mind focusing on Spike and Twi, and maybe even a sequel to this if I can!
