After a millennium, Nightmare Moon has returned from the moon and effortlessly defeated Princess Celestia, whom she banished out of personal revenge. The sun is dead, and the world has been cast into eternal darkness.

I was one of Princess Celestia’s guards. After Nightmare Moon’s usurpation, I, and nearly every other guard in Canterlot, have become her guards. After a violent riot by civilians in front of a castle, I end up on a slippery slope that forces me into defecting from her regime with a fellow guard wanted for murder.
