Chapter 1View OnlineEveryone Needs Pinkie PieChapter 1I am not important... No pony likes me anymore... Even all of my friends have left me... These thoughts are what ran through the saddened, pink party pony's mind that day. Her room was dark and all of the balloons she had set up for a party were popped, the remains spread out on the wooden floor. All of her "extra guests" as she called them were slumped over, some laying on the floor and others toppled, in Rocky's case. The cake hadn't even been touched. That's how sad Pinkie Pie was. She wasn't enjoying a new pony's arrival in town. That new pony had taken all that she had loved and snatched it out of her hooves, taking over as the Official Party Pony of Ponyville! ...It was official. Pinkie Pie was old news. What happened to the parties that she used to throw? What happened to her? Her mane was straight and her cutie mark even looked as deflated as she did. And what also happened to her friends? They didn't even show up to Gummy's 5th birthday last week. Were they busy like last time or... did they really leave her for good? Ugh, so many questions to be answered and none of them had been answered yet. Why does this keep happening to- Ding dong! The doorbell rang and silenced all of her ongoing thoughts. Getting slowly to her hooves, she opened her bedroom door and trotted down the stairs, small tears dripping down her face and onto the cold floor that was once warm with hoof-steps from the bustling ponies that came in every day just to see her and what she could do with her treats and laughter. As she reached the door, she heard a distant voice from the other side. "Pinkie? Pinkie Pie, are you there? You haven't come out for days and it's starting to worry me! Are you alright?" It was Rainbow Dash. Pinkie grabbed the doorknob and twisted it sharply, then pulled the door open, the light from the glowing sun brightening up the entrance and part of the parlor. However, it didn't seem to brighten up Pinkie's mood. She just stood there with a stone look on her face, staring directly into Dash's magenta eyes. "D-Dashie, is that really you?" She asked, seriously curious. Her friend had come back for her... Rainbow just simply laughed, then replied with a chuckle in her voice. "Yeah, it's me, Pinkie. Are you alright? You look so... sad." Pinkie replied with a flat tone, which was highly unusual and this surprised the bright blue Pegasus. "Yeah, I'm fine. Why are you here? I thought you were having fun with Cheese Sandwich..." "Well, I was, but I decided to come and check on you. You don't look so good..." Pinkie's tone quickly changed into a sharp, angry manner as she shouted in her friend's face. "I'm fine! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!" Pinkie then grabbed the doorknob, nearly breaking it off the door itself, and started to slam it shut. However, a hoof stopped it in the process and Rainbow Dash let the door slowly swing open again. She stood there with a concerned expression, her ears flattened tightly against her head. "P-Pinkie, what has gotten into you? You've never been this way before! Please talk to me!" Pleading could be heard in Rainbow's tone and Pinkie could tell that she meant business. "There is nothing to talk about, Dashie. I am fine here with my friends and I don't need you or any pony else telling me what has gotten in! I am the same party pony that you knew and I have not changed. Now, I suggest you leave before I'm forced to shove you out!" This time, when slamming the door, Rainbow Dash didn't stop it in its place. She just simply let wood hit painted concrete as it closed on her. And it would stay closed. Pinkie Pie could hear the trotting of hooves going off into the distance as she cried in the darkness.
Chapter 2View OnlineEveryone Needs Pinkie PieChapter 2-Keep in mind! This is from Rainbow Dash's perspective and this will continue after the next chapter.- Rainbow Dash, her mind filled with worried thoughts, flew at almost the sound of speed through Ponyville to get to Twilight's castle. She didn't want Pinkie to sit around any longer in this depression. She couldn't stand to see her friend so unhappy. It wasn't normal for Pinkie Pie. It was never normal for Pinkie Pie to be this way, not now. Not with her birthday coming up. After all, Pinkie was the most excited out of all of her friends about her birthday and every year, she was the happiest bundle of pink madness. Being like this now wasn't right. Something had to be wrong. Something so horrible that Rainbow couldn't even imagine what had happened to make her this way. As she continued through the dusty yet grassy streets of Ponyville, and knocking down a few stands -and ponies- in the process, she saw the castle looming up ahead, coming into view. She was almost there. Almost there! Crash! And down went Rainbow Dash, running straight into Fluttershy. They tumbled and tossed on the ground, some wings, hooves and ears bending the wrong way in the process. Once the ruckus had seceded, Rainbow lay there on the ground trying to catch her focus. Everything was in a blur and she couldn't even see three inches in front of her. Though it took quite some effort, Rainbow finally caught her focus. However, she noticed one thing was wrong. Where was Fluttershy? The blue Pegasus looked around nervously, but as she tried to stand up, she felt a shifting weight bearing her down. She then titled her head up and saw the very yellow Pegasus laying right there on her back, her pink mane a complete mess and her wings extended out to her side. "Flutters!" Rainbow carefully shoved Fluttershy off of her back and got to her hooves then turned towards her shy friend. "Are you alright?" Fluttershy's eyes slowly opened, the teal color glimmering in the sunlight. "Oh, Rainbow Dash. Yes, I'm fine. The question is, are you okay? It looks as if you've got quite the injuries." Fluttershy pointed to her bent wings, feathers falling out onto the ground, her muzzle bent into a forced-derp look and her eyes a bit derped as well. Rainbow shook her head, turning herself back to normal and closed her wings, then nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. The Amazing Rainbow Dash will always be okay, even if I crash into the Canterlot Castle. S-Sorry about running into you, by the way. I was just trying to get to Twilight." "Oh. Are you checking out the latest 'Daring Do'?" "As much as I'd like to, no. I need to talk to Twilight. It's an emergency." "Goodness! What happened?" Worry filled Fluttershy's eyes as well as a bit of anxiety, but this was barely noticed. "Pinkie. She's... she's... not normal." "Rainbow Dash!" Fluttershy scolded her, anger now filling her eyes as she prepared for The Stare. "I don't mean it that way! Pinkie never has been normal, but this time, it's just worse. It's not... her. She slammed the door in my face. She yelled at me. She looked so gray that I couldn't even tell it was her." Rainbow looked down at her hooves, grief and sadness in the tone of her voice. "Oh dear. W-We must get to Twilight immediately." Rainbow looked up at her friend and too saw the worry in her eyes. She then nodded and rushed off with the yellow pony towards the bright, crystal and shining castle that shone in the sunlight.
Chapter 3View OnlineEveryone Needs Pinkie PieChapter 3Pinkie's perspective "Oh, yes, Sir Lintsalot, you can have some more tea." Pinkie spoke these words, hatred and sadness in her eyes and even a hint of insanity. She sat before her new friends, talking and laughing as if she had not just sobbed downstairs and making the floor a growing lake. It's as if she wasn't upset and was the giddy Pinkie Pie she was once again. Though she spoke in such a perky mood, inside her heart felt like it was tearing in half. However, she didn't have much care in the world anymore. Her friends had abandoned her for some orange, fluffy-haired, talking-like-he-belongs stallion who partied better than she did! It's like she doesn't exist anymore. Not to them, not to any pony! Pushing these emotions aside, she smiled and grabbed the tea cup with her hooves, pouring in the "tea" that she had "made". "No, Rocky, you can't have any more until you finish your first cup." Pinkie shifted her arm around Rocky, moving him slightly to make him seem like he were talking. "But I want more tea right now. I can't stand to have my mouth dry." Pinkie then went back to her position. "I said you can't have any more until you drink the rest of what you have now!" She slammed her hooves down onto the table, some of the mini tea cups falling to the floor. Rocky himself then toppled over, falling to the floor with a thud. His party hat rolled away from him and the rest of her new "friends" fell over once again. Pinkie then situated them once more and continued. "Rocky, of course you can have more tea..." Pinkie sighed. She knew that this wasn't who she was, but didn't want to deny it. She wanted to return to normal, but yet wanted to remain this way and always have amazing tea parties with her friends. She missed her old friends, but still hated them to the core for what they did. Why they did what they did, she wasn't sure, but she knew she was never going back. Not for a long time. She then continued to pour the tea for every one around her, smiling a fake smile that almost seemed real.
