Vengeance: Manehattan

Chapter 1.

Diamond dogs.

It had been six months since Sunset Shimmer's death Luna had made her way to the city of Manehattan. Luna carried her bags with her as she found a small abandoned building from which she could set up as her base of operations in. Putting her M-249 machine gun backpack on she covered it with a long black trench coat. Then headed out of the building to begin her hunting of the criminal element that was choking the life out of the city. Luna walked alone down one of the many streets in Hell’s kitchen the city smelled of piss and vomit. Cars trafficked back and forth on the busy streets of Manehattan. Sirens could be heard off in the distance blaring out their mournful callings. Another person had fallen victim to the many crack houses and gang members that plagued the city streets. People of many ages and walks of life could be seen going about their normal routines. Most were unaware of the stranglehold that the gangs had on the once peaceful city. Luna however was very much aware of the stranglehold that the gangs posed on the city.  As she walked down the streets of Manehattan past a green bench with a old woman sitting on it crying to herself. Luna suddenly stopped in her tracks then slowly turned around to look at the woman sitting on the bench when she heard the woman sob out.

“My beautiful little grandchild those monsters took you away from me.”

As the woman sobbed while holding a photo in her hands she failed to see Luna started to walk towards her. Returning to the bench where the old woman sat Luna looked at her as she said to her while the woman cried.

“Ma’am what you are you doing out on such a dark and lonely night by yourself?”

The woman did immediately reply to Luna’s question she sat on the bench crying hard as she held tightly onto the photo in her hands. Looking down at her Luna saw the photo in the woman's hands and gently said to her.

“Ma’am may I please see the photo in your hands I would like to see what your grandchild looked like if I may.”

The elderly woman looked up at her then through her sobs handed Luna the photo as she wiped away her tears. The photo showed a little eight year old girl with blue and red hair, pink bows ties in her hair and smile that would warm even the coldest of hearts. Returning the photo to the crying woman Luna said to her as she held her hand out to her to help her off the cold hard bench.

“Who would have taken such a beautiful child as this from you Ma’am?”

Swallowing hard the elderly woman looked at Luna as she took back the photo saying to her as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“It was those damn Diamond Dogs they took her…. my little Jenny from me. We had so very little and I wanted to get her out of this rotten city before something like this happened. Now it is too late.”

“What about her father or her mother couldn’t one of them helped?” Luna replied as helped the elderly woman off the bench.

“Their both dead they died three years ago when they stood up to the gang's leader Rover trying to fight to keep the crack that those monsters sell to our children off the streets. The gangs killed her mother and father to show what happens when you cross them.” The elderly woman replied as Luna helped her up.

Once the woman was off the bench Luna said to her as the elderly woman sniffed hard.

“Do you have any place to go tonight Ma'am you really shouldn’t be out here alone.”

The woman looked at Luna a bit confused as she began to dry her tears she said to Luna who stood watching her wipe away the last of her tears.

“Yes but, I wanted to be out here because this is where my grand daughter and I would come to watch the shops open up for business. She always loved watching them open their stores sometimes some of the shop owners would give her an ice-cream cone and would play music for her. ”

“Tell me how did your little grand daughter die?” Luna replied.

“She ate some food that was laced with crack I don’t know how it got into her food and the school didn’t even bother to investigate it. Now my little grand daughter is gone and I will never be able to see her smile or hear her laughter again. What am I to do?” The elderly woman cried in anger.

“Let me get you home.” Replied Luna gently.

Walking the elderly woman down the street Luna flagged down a nearby taxi. When the driver pulled over Luna approached the window handed the driver two one hundred dollar bills then turned to the woman as the elderly woman said while still crying to her.

“I prayed to God to send an angel to teach those monsters a lesson but, none came. Tell me please why are the guilty allowed to get away with things like this? While we the innocent are suppose to just sit back and watch as our loved ones are slaughtered in front of us?”

Luna looked away for a second saying to the elderly woman gently as she looked at the ground then slowly back up to her.

“I don’t know why the innocent are made to suffer Ma’am. But, you needn’t wait for God to answer your prayer Ma’am.Tell me where to find them and I will make them pay for this.”

Sniffing hard the woman looked shocked that this stranger standing before her would actually want to make the Diamond dogs pay for their crimes. The elderly woman took out her photo again and handed it to Luna saying to her as she held the photo out in her hands to Luna.

“Please take this show it to the one called Rover he is the leader of that awful gang. If you are looking to find them you will find them in deep in Hell's Kitchen. Keep going down this street till you get to Red barn and kibble street. Turn left and head up that street you will find them standing outside of one of their crack houses. More than likely gloating about this.”

Luna took the photo then helped the elderly woman into the taxi and nodded to the driver saying to him sternly.

“If she doesn’t make it home safely I will find out then you will pay. Take her home make sure she gets there safely. Ma’am thank you for the information I must go now.”

The taxi drove off leaving Luna on the street alone with her thoughts dwelling on Rover and his gang of Diamond dogs. A few hours later Luna slowly emerged from a dark alleyway looked across the street and saw the crack house she was looking for. Ten Diamond Dogs were stationed out front all of them were laughing and generally didn’t see Luna until she started to walk towards them. When one of the Diamond dogs saw her coming near their, crack house he sneered to his friends saying to them as she approached them from the alleyway she had been hiding in.

“What's this, a new customer perhaps. Oooh, she’s a cutie. Spot go and get Rover he will want to have some fun with this little play toy.” One of the gang members said as another could be seen running off to get their leader.

Luna let him go as she closed her eyes then slowly threw back her coat revealing her gun to the Diamond dogs. Each the dogs looked from her then to the gun in her hands and they began to call out to her.

“What are you going to do with that little pop shooter girl. We’re the Diamond dogs no one is stupid enough to mess with us.”

“Yeah you think you can come here and start stuff with us you little fool we will eat you alive or sell you for prostitution.”

Several of the Diamond dogs threw empty bottles of apple cider at Luna who in turn ignored their comments to her. As she raised the gun up pointing it right at them Luna grinned. As she stared coldly at the gang members while they all taunted her by either throwing more bottles of Apple Cider at her or by yelling and swearing at her. Luna smiled as she pulled the trigger yelling out to them.

“Time to get your’s you bastards!”

The first ten fell where they stood. The other four ran into the crack house while Luna cracked her neck then gave chace. Getting inside the rundown derelict building Luna looked around as she saw the four she was chasing scamper up a flight of stairs. Firing a few shots at them she began to pursue them chasing them all the way to the top floor. As she got up to the top floor one of the four she had been chasing turned to draw his weapon. Luna saw this and dropped to the floor ducking just in time as the gang member fell to the ground when Luna shot him several times in the chest. Getting back her feet she continued to follow the other three members of the gang catching up them as they tried to get out a fire escape. Grabbing onto one of them by his leg Luna pulled him back into the building letting the other two go. Luna looked as she watched the other two get away. She then turned her attention to the cowering gang member on the floor in front of her and smiled as she began to drag him out of the room by his leg. As the gang member started to struggle Luna turned around shooting him twice in the hip and one in the left shin. The gang member screamed out in pain as Luna dragged him over to a nearby room then lifted him up to a broken window saying to him coldly.

“Alright you can either answer my questions or you can die here and now the choice is yours.”

The Diamond dog looked out the window seeing he was eight stories up lost control of his bodily functions saying to her as Luna pushed him ever closer out the window.

“Alright you win I’ll talk. Just don’t kill me please don’t kill me.”

“I want to know where you got the means to make your crack and where your other two friends are headed.” Luna replied as she held the Diamond dog closer to the window.

“We got them from the Scorpions I don’t know where they got the stuff from. Rover and Spot are headed there now to get back up. Who are you lady? Why are you doing this? We didn’t do anything to you.”

Luna smiled as she said to him coldly.

“Call me Nightmare Moon. And it is not me that you hurt, your drugs and your gang killed a little girl now you must pay for that.”

With that Luna pushed the Diamond dog out of the window as he screamed falling to his death. Looking out into the city Luna smiled as she heard sirens approaching the area she was in. Looking around the crack house Luna found a strong box sitting in the room adjacent to the room she was already in, opening it up she discovered much to her delight weapons inside of it. Taking out the weapons she armored herself up then set to work of putting several explosives throughout the building. When she was satisfied that the place was well rigged to go up she walked outside and headed back to the ally where she had come from. Taking out a remote from her pocket that she had found in the strong box she pressed the button exploding the building behind her as the police came up to it. Looking over her shoulder as she entered the alleyway she said to herself.

“And now it begins.”
