Scootaloo stared out the window of her apartment room, the coldness of this new world wrapped around her and wouldn't let go. The sun was beginning to rest behind the tall building, she watched it leave as though it were a never returning friend. Why had she wanted to come to the city again? To find herself?
Scootaloo began to pull down the curtains, the room didn't become dark until she turned off the lights. She curled into bed, the softness of the pillows seemed to welcome her kindly. She closed her eyes, sleep come slowly to her. She missed everything from her childhood, her bed, her room, her parents.
Her mother had died from cancer a week after Scootaloo turned a year old, it had taken her dad nice years to start dating again. Rainbow Dash had been her choice for a mother ever since she had met her, and now the cyan mare was her stepmother. Scootaloo had been deeper with joy during their wedding, she loved it.
Scootaloo snuggled up under the covers and then fluffed out her pillow. The fridge in the apartment made loud motor like sounds. The annoying sounds would soon become a humble melody to her the long she stayed here, she yawned and drifted off to sleep.
Scootaloo awoke to the sound of loud knocks at her door. She yawned as she crawled out of bed and then walked like a zombie to the door. She stood their and watched several letters fall from the mail slot, the knocked continued. Outside the door stood a stallion with dark hair and a red coat, he handed her a small cardboard box and smiled.
"Sleep well?" He asked, being friendly.
"Yeah sure." Scootaloo paid no attention to him, she shut the door without looking away from the box in her hooves. She read the return address, the box was from her dad. She opened the box forcefully. A small book lay in some bubble wrap, there was a small card next to it, she opened the card and read it mentally.

Your mother had this book as a journal for her in the hospital, I'd given it to her to write anything in. It had been with her things that I'd left in a box in the attic, I'd forgotten about it and never thought to read it. I began reading a few pages and realized she was writing to you, she was giving you advise for how to handle your life should you face troubles.
So, my dear daughter, please enjoy this book and may it find you well. I hope this book will help you! Whenever you need advise just open up this book! (Or call me...either way you should be fine.)

Scootaloo smiled as small tears escaped her eyes. She sat the card down and brushed her hoof over the face of the book. Fake gold paint looped across the cover in a small rectangle, and inside the rectangle were the words, My Personal Journal. She opened the book and read from the beginning.
My dear Scootaloo, I have no doubts your father will forget about this book as time continues, I only hope you read this book one day. I'm in the hospital right now, looking at a picture of you, I believe you'll grow up to be a beautiful filly and mare. What ever job you decide to have is the one I'm ok with, I trust you will honnor your father's wishes however.
By the time you receive this book, I will be in heaven, watching you fondly. Your my sweet little Angel and I love you. Read this book whenever you have a problem, or are confused and just maybe I can awnser you.

Scootaloo squeaked as more tears rolled down her cheeks. She closed the book and sat it on the table tenderly. She wiped the tears from her eyes and then looked back to the book.
Weeks turned into months as Scootaloo lived on her own, snow feelef the streets and melted away as quickly as it had come. When almost two years had passed since she'd been on her own, Scootaloo found herself alone and possibly pregnant. She had no idea how it happened, one minute she had been at a party, the next she was in a motel room by herself, and now she was soon to be a mother.
Scootaloo shook as she stood in front of bathroom mirror in her apartment. She tried to not look down at the small test strip that lay in the sink, the red plus sign staring up at her. Taunting her.
Sometimes these things could be wrong, maybe it had been wrong. With that thought in mind she sighed and walked to the phone, to see about getting a check up, just to be on the safe side. She dialled the number, as it rang her eyes moved to look at a book. She hung up the phone and walked to the nightstand were the book sat.
She needed guidance, wasn't that what the book was for? She picked it up and opened to the first entry. A gasp caught in her throat as she read.
The road you walk will have many bumps, no mater what road it is. Just remember that your beautiful and that everypony makes mistakes, forgive yourself and everypony around you. If you stumble, remember that there are ponies everywhere to give you some help, no mater what.
Even if you've done something wrong, home is where you should be if you want the most help. Even if you disappoint anypony at home, they still love and care for you, always go home. That's my advise Scootaloo, always return home for the best support.
