Chapter 1
Load Full StoryLong ago, in the land of Equestria, there were two sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land. To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn; the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects.
But as time went on, the younger sister became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night. One fateful day, the younger unicorn refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn. The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young one's heart had transformed her into a wicked mare of darkness: Nightmare Moon.
She vowed that she would shroud the land in eternal night. Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed the most powerful magic known to ponydom: the Elements of Harmony. Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger sister, and banished her permanently in the moon. The elder sister took on responsibility for both sun and moon and harmony has been maintained in Equestria for generations since.
But she didn't go without a warning, on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal.
1000 years later after the fall of the younger sister on the day of the summer sun celebration, a young unicorn student of the eldest sister heard of this warning. The student tried to warn the eldest sister but to only have it fall to deaf ears.
‘My dearest teacher, my continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster! For you see, the mythical Mare in the Moon is in fact Nightmare Moon, and she's about to return to Equestria, and bring with her eternal night! Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response.’
‘My dearest, most faithful student. You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely, but you simply must stop reading those dusty old books!
My dear student, there is more to a young pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year's location: Ponyville. And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete: make some friends!’
The young unicorn student was not happy about this for she did not want to make friends, but throughout the day she met five other ponies. Two earth ponies, two pegasi, and a unicorn.
Unaware at the time, she slowly started to enjoy their company.
The six ponies made their way towards the ancient castle of the Two Sisters and by using the power of the elements, they unlocked the ancient magic within them and freed the younger sister from Nightmare Moon.
Many years later after the students coronation into godhood, the Royal princesses and the bears of the elements of harmony…. vanished.
After their disappearance a new pony rose to power, Queen Nubilus.
Her presence brought a new age to Equestria, an age of technology and war. Strange yet fascinating creations swept through the industry and factories were created. Slowly but surely ponies started forgetting the meaning of harmony and the Princesses.
Things were, nor will ever be the same...
Thousands of years later
My hooves were shaking and I brought my gun closer to my chest. The long dark Corridor before me seemed to taunt me as I slowly moved forward, I just can't give up now after all I've been through just to get to this point! There's no way in hell I'm backing away now!
BANG
My heart skipped a beat, raising my gun I slowly turned around just about to shoot the brains out of my attacker when-
Suddenly, the controller was snatched out my grip by my brother, Robin Song. “Crimson, it's my turn!” The dark grey Pegasus said as I glared golden daggers at him. He landed by the door and sat down on his hunches with a satisfied smile. That sly fox!
Getting off the soft couch I slowly made my way towards him, it took all my strength not to pounce on him right then and there.
“Give It Back,” I said slowly as my pale yellow wings unfolded ready to take off after him if he even attempts to get away “I'm serious Robin.”
His smile fell instantly off his face and was replaced with a surprisingly serious appearance. Huh, that's new. No matter, I’m going to get that damn controller whether he likes it or not, I got zombies to kill!
“No” and that's when everything turned to hell.
Hooves, fur, and feathers started flying everywhere. I was blinded by it all so I’m not really sure what happened but A few times I swore I heard something shatter. Eventually our fight was cut off when Robin few up in the air.
“Haha!” He cheered.
“Robin, get down from there,” I growled, he was pretty much dancing up there and it was making me even more angry “You know I can’t fly!”
He smirked “That's the point.” He swooped down and booped my nose causing me to scrunch up my muzzle “Besides it's not that you can’t, it's just that you won't.”
“I don’t know what your talking about.” I turned my head away from him.
He landed and started walking towards me slowly, like a predator stalking its prey “Don’t play dumb, Crimson. Do you really think that I’ve forgotten? I’ve seen you do it.”
Images for fire danced across my memory, I shuddered and started twitching. Darkness crept into the corner of my eyes as I started mumbling something under my breath.
I dimly heard Robin calling my name before passing out.
Yup, just another day in the Spark household.
