On the planet called Equus, a major threat has constantly attacked the ponies and animals of the planet. Even in their primitive quadruped forms. Over the millennia when the races of Equus became anthropomorphic. Since their primitive times, all species have had to fight the dark beings called Grimm. The Grimm fed off of negative emotions from any species. Hatred, anger, sadness, and even war will bring them out of hiding. While the races of Equus scrambled to find a better way of killing the Grimm for good, a large spaceship crashed on the other large continent of Equus. Known as the Vulcan Sol Empire, humans and beings known as Pokemorphs came out of said ship, having arrived from a now ruined Earth. However, they had no land to call their home and the Vulcan Sol tried to enslave them. The resulting war, known as the Great War or the First World War, brought the Grimm to the United Planetary Alliance attention.

It ended the war and gave birth to the United Kingdoms of Realm, who were next to the Empire with an uneasy truce. Together all nations helped develop a magical powder called Dust. A powerful tool in the Hunter's’ arsenal.

Meanwhile the Dragonlands were still being plagued by the Grimm. Though the Dragons held their own against the Grimm without the need for Dust. But the UKR introduced them to the stuff. It almost started another war until a new Dragonlord, Princess Ember, came into power. She stopped things from escalating and welcomed her kind into a new era of science, magic and technology. Still the war against the Grimm rages on.

One thousand years after Princess Celestia has removed Nightmare Moon from her sister Luna, and banished Nightmare Moon to the moon. Nightmare Moon returns on the one thousandth Summer Sun Celebration, and the thousand year anniversary of the New Lunar Republics’ formation. The formation of this new government made Equestria into a continental kingdom like the former Vulcan Sol Empire. Despite the nations on this continent still remaining in power. This changed Equestria into the Union of Equestria. With the Princesses elected as rulers of the Union.

Anyway Nightmare Moon returned to take control of Princess Luna once more. However six mares used the Elements of Harmony and destroyed Nightmare Moon for good. One of them, Twilight Sparkle, became an alicorn Princess and heir to Luna’s throne. As Princess Sunset Shimmer is Celestia’s heir.

The Age of Light as it was called thrived. With Dust helping a lot against the Grimm. Princess Celestia opens a school to train generation after generation of Hunters to fight the Grimm. She called this place Beacon of Light Academy or known as Beacon for short.

However Pokemorphs and Humans have received unfair treatment in the Union. Mostly working as slave labour for the only Dust manufacturing company, Rainbow Corporation. This unfair treatment has caused all humans and Pokemorphs in the Union to protest. When their protest fell on deaf ears of the Rainbow Board of Directors. They went to the Union Council and successfully got the civil rights they wanted. Though it came at a costly price as the human and pokemorph workforce of Rainbow went missing, and later found dead. A royal investigation by both Luna and Celestia began, rumors abound called the company underneath Cloudsdale as the “Rainbow Factory”, after dark stories the children told of the Cloudsdale Weather Factory.

Right now the investigation is still underway, as even more rumors of a human/pokemorph uprising spread like wildfire. Threatening to increase the sightings of Grimm, and causing the Age of Light to end…
