Chapter One: Wierdest experience in my life
Chapter One: Weirdest experience in my life.
As far as I know the Institute had the most advanced technology on the planet, I think they beat Japan too. Right now I'm heading to one of the Institute's most advanced bases on America because I've heard rumors that they were testing teleportation to go to anywhere in the world, but a couple of cases went wrong and they don't know where they ended up. I'm bringing my hazmat suit because this ''secret base'' is in the god damned Glowing Sea and I don't want to die from radiation. Going there is not going to be easy though, there have been reports of devilish monsters there that are three times the size of a Human Being and that being said, I'm bring my trusty 50. Caliber rifle to take care of any unwanted hostiles. That place does give me the creeps though, one time I saw a ghost in the middle of some plane wreckage and went to investigate and the being was gone because I stepped a foot on the charred ground.
As I'm walking I notice something wrong with everything around here, but I can't tell what it is. It feels like I'm being watched by something and it just doesn't go away. I do know that one of the Human senses is that you can detect what a pair of eyes lock onto you and that is what I'm afraid of. I saw some burnt bushes shuffle around a bit which just increases my paranoia to the surrounding enviroment. Finally I spot what was watching me all this time, after so much walking with the feeling I saw a Radscorpion just above the lip of the hill. I thanked what ever God there is to worship now because the beast did not see that I spotted it. I ran into an eroding building as my source of cover and set up my rife just above the wall. I took aim and set my crossairs on the Radscorpions face. Right when I thought I had the aiming right, I pressed the trigger slowly and the gun made a thundering boom and launched the bullet at above super sonic speeds. It felt like slow motion as the bullet went into the scorpions face with a sickening crunch and squish as the bullet barrelled through the scorpion and came out the other end.
The thing was defenitly dead now because if that didn't kill it, I wouldn't know what could. I started back up my traveling as I trudged through the dirt and mud. Feeling I was nearing the base I set up shop for the night and was going to go to the base in the Morning becasue my feet hurt and so does everything else. I got my tent out and my sleeping bag and set up shop for the night. It is going to be hard to fall asleep with this hazmat suit on. ''Fuck,'' I muttered. I didn't go to sleep until about a hour of trying to,'' well at least the night sky is beautiful as ever,'' I said to no one in particular.''This is going to be a long night,'' I said.
Waking up, I was conforted by the sweet smell of actuall air that went from the tubes from my back to my mask. The only real thing I can complain about is how achy my body felt. I tried to stand up, but my legs were to shaky and I ended up falling over. ''Well that's just great,'' I said to myself. I tried again and this time with much more success than the previous attempt.''Alright, time to get moving,'' I said. I satarted walking through the barren wasteland with much discomfort. It felt like you could actually hear the dead whispering to each other as the bombs hit.''This is starting to get creepy,'' I said. I made my way to an old broken down Red Rocket station to see if I can scavenge anything that I might need, but alas there was nothing there that I needed exept an old revolver that looked like it was about to fall apart. I stashed the piece into my bag and went on my way.
I was walking for a good four hours now, according to my Pip-Boy. ''I should be there anytime soon now,'' I said hopefully. I spotted what someone would say a bunker sticking out of the ground to the left of me.'' That could be the base,'' I said. As I neared the bunker everything just started to get quiet as if everything has a switch and someone turned it off. It felt so eary that my eyes would dart around because I thought I saw something. I grasped the lever to the trap door jutting out of the ground and lifted with all my might.''Damn that thing was fucking heavy,'' I said winded. I went down into the bunker and turned on my Pip-Boy light because it was dark as balls in here. I started walking aroun aimlessly until I would spot something that would catch my eyes. The thing that caught my eyes were a couple of monitors that brightend their entire area. I made my way over to them only to realize that the area surrounding the monitors were littered with traps of varying kinds. I think I saw a rocket launcher trap as well.
I started with the first trap which was a simple grenade trap with a trip wire. The second trap was a bottlecap mine that I almost activated, but thankfully shut it off in time. The other traps were your average little traps like pre-war mines of the likes of those. Finally reaching the final trap I realized that this one was the most complicated trap of them all. There were invisible lasers that my VATS detected and I almost walked right into them. They were being emmited by these small metal devices on either side of the walls and they looked pretty flimsy. I brought my Pip-Boy up and selected a Silenced 10mm pistol and took aim at the metal devices. I shot the devices rather quickly and made my way to the monitors. They seemed to be some type of security monitors to be the looks of it. I pressed a button that said play and the screen lit up to the laboratory below me on the 3rd floor. There in the center of the laboratory was some type of teleporter.
''What the hell is that?,'' I said in exasperation. My question was answered when one of the synths walked into it and never came back. All the people in the room and synths yelled in joy because the thing actually worked.''I'm going to have to check that out when I'm done here,'' I said. I checked my Pip-Boy to see if there was any rads sown here and I was some what suprised that there were zero rads down here.''Interesting,'' I said as I continued to stare at the meter. I cut my gaze of the meter as I heard what sounded like blood gurgling in the next room over. I quietly made my way over to the next room and peeked through with my gun raised. What I did not expect was there to be a feral goul laying down on the marble floor. I took aim with my silenced pistol and shot a round into its head spraying brain matter across the ground. there seemed to be a tamdem of shouts all across the base which gave me a sickening feeling that I was not entirely alone down here.
I snuck around the base hoping not to get caught by any of the gouls. I checked every corner I went to and I did not spot a single thing. I was worrying what made all those shouts all at once, but I couldn't find a single thing. I eventually started to walk normally again because there was no sign of anything here.''Well that went better that expected,'' I said quietly still weary about what was in this place. I was just about to turn the last corner to the stairs, but something cut me off and it was moving at an extremely eratic speed. It looked like a crossover between a horse and a Human and it did not look natural at all. I was about to pull my pistol out, but was cut off when it made a deffening scream that made my ears ring.''Well at least I know what made all those sounds,'' I said still covering my ears. After the ringing stopped I got out my pistol and took aim at the beasts head which was tiny compared to its body. I fired the gun and the bullet grazed one of its ears.''Great,'' I said as it spotted me with a very angry look.
The beast made another deafening screm and charged at me, but unlucky for the thing I was ready for it. I had my automatic shotgun out ready to blow it to smithereens. Right when it was close enough I pulled the trigger and the shell took half of its head off with its blood going everywhere around me. I made a silent prayer to any god that was out there to help him because I thought that there would be more of the things. I kept going down the stairs until I made it to the 3rd floor where the lab was. I looked at the door that was blocking my entrance and it was a very thick steel door that I could not pick.''I guess I'll have to do this the old fashioned way,'' I said while getting out my rocket launcher. I scooted back until I was about fifteen feet away from the door behind a table. I took aim and said,'' Hasta La Vista Baby,''. I fired the rocket into door and the sound it reverberated made me want to cringe so hard.
I peeked into the lab and what I saw made my skin turn white because there were so many gouls in there that it looked like a marching band.''Well there is only one way to solve this,'' I said.
