LT: Belly Blues
I simply couldn’t concentrate, no matter what I did. My eyes followed my recruits and guards, but my mind stayed with Blue Moon all the time. Today was her last appointment before the final phase would start. She was over seven months, her belly had already growing quite big, but that wasn’t my biggest problem.
Since week one, Blue had problems doing her duty. She never told me, she was too proud for that, and I was not dumb enough to address it. After being married to her for quite some time, I knew better than to question her. She could be furious. Still, I could see it. The weight of her belly burdened her.
Her armor wasn’t fitting properly anymore, her flight was more than unstable with the additional weight and form. She grew tired and unwell far more easily during training. Those reasons, among others, were why I waited the doctors to forbid her from doing any work.
While I knew that Blue would scream, argue, and blow off steam, I also knew that I couldn’t concentrate or sleep well anymore without knowing that she would take it easy from now on.
“General!”
I blinked, trying to focus in front of me, just to see Moon Shield was glaring daggers toward me. “What’s wrong, Shield?”
“I think you are,” she replied coldly, before her gaze softened. “It’s about Blue, huh?” I nodded and she laughed. “Go home, I’ll deal with them.”
“Are you sure?” I asked, nodding to Midnight Flow who was busy tearing through the shield of her opponent. “I’m a bit worried about her. She’s developed… more differently than I thought she would.”
Moon Shield chuckled. “Not the scared filly she was a few months ago, huh? I think our Moon boosted her confidence quite a bit with the story.”
I snorted, shaking my head. “I don’t know how I should look at Luna anymore. At some point in history, she was… she is our origin, and that makes me…”
“Confused?”
“A bit, yeah. It’s like a friend, leader and princess suddenly turned, well... more,” I replied.
“Night, go home,” Shield sighed. “Everypony can see that you're not yourself today. Go home and wait for Blue.”
“I can’t!” I scowled. “I’m the general, I can’t just go home or take my time like I want.”
“Night. As a friend, your advisor and former Captain I’ll tell you for the last time: Go home!” She blinked as I still hesitated. “Night, go home or I bring our Moon in on this, I’m sure she’ll be interested how her general tries to lead her army distracted.”
“You wouldn’t,” I glared at her.
“Oh, I would. And I would also tell Blue all about it,” Shield smirked. “So if you value your flank, you better go home.”
I still glared at her, our gaze meeting in the middle as we tried to stare eachother down. She won, easily as I sighed in defeat. If it were Luna, I could live. But Blue would skin me alive as soon as she heard about it. “Alright, I’ll go home. Just watch over them and make sure Midnight doesn’t kill somepony accidentally.”
“Heh, I can’t promise that, she already destroyed four shields,” Moon Shield laughed.
I cast a last, side glance at Midnight, watching her shattering the fifth shield with her wingblades before turning and walking home. I knew that Moon Shield would be able to handle everything, I just couldn’t check out mentally. It was my destiny, it was what I do best.
The clatter of metal and the loud shouts of the guards silenced as I approached the castle. The two guards at the gate bowed to be deeply, one thing I never got used to since my promotion, and still hated.
I never thought highly of myself, something Blue always wanted to change. Truth to be told, I was awful clumsy and tripped over my own hooves on every single occasion it seemed. Where I shined like a diamond was the battlefield, leading and coordination of troops.
In my opinion, it was the only thing I was good at. No matter what the others always tried to tell me.
Just look at me, muttering like the clumsy and crazy mare I am. Blue would have my coat for this.
Silently, I entered the castle and made my way to the lunar wing, the part of the castle where Luna resided. It was also where Blue and I had our rooms since my promotion. Quarters fit for princesses.
Sometimes I asked myself what would've happened if my plan all those years ago had failed, if I had never gone on a date with Blue Moon. I was positively certain that I wouldn't be a general. Not even close.
I sighed as I reached the big doors to my home and opened them, stopping immediately upon the silent sobbing. “Blue, is that you?” I asked and walked in, looking to the bedroom. “Blue?”
I had expected everything. From a full fledged rage up to her tearing our home apart. Instead, all I was met with were her sobs and silence.
Since I still got no answer, I closed the door and walked into the bedroom, just to spot the familiar form and coat of my wife on the bed, her head buried in some cushions as she sobbed. I quickly approached her, touching her mane. “Blue, what is wrong?”
“What's wrong?” She asked, raising her head. “I'm not allowed to work anymore! I'm useless, just so useless.”
“You're not useless,” I scowled. “You are my wonderful wife”
She snorted. “Wonderful? Just look at me, Nighty. I'm fat and ugly, even too fat to work anymore!”
“Why are you saying this?” I asked her, opening my wing and silently pulling her close to me.
“Because it is true.”
“It's not and you know this!” I said louder then I wanted to, making her shriek in surprise. “You are my wonderful mare. And trust me when I say, that I still find you sexy and beautiful,” I blushed furiously.
“Beautiful? Sexy? Me?” Blue croaked.
“Yes,” I whispered with a soft kiss on her nose that made her giggle.
“That, you’ll have to explain to me,” she said, sniffing. “But first take a shower and get that armor off, you stink!” She added as she playfully shoved me off the bed.
I landed muzzle first on the floor and groaned, just to receive a small bite at my flank that send me yelping onto my hooves. “Blue!”
“What?” she asked with a grin. “Didn’t do anything. Now hurry up!”
As she turned, she lightly flicked her tail, and it was all I needed to rush to the bathroom and drop all my armor before hopping into the shower. It was a big one, made out of blue crystal, and the same style that Luna had. It was easily big enough for two or three alicorns, or five normal ponies.
The water splashing down on my head felt nice, calming. I just stood there for some time, only Luna know’s how long, letting the warm water massage my coat. It felt nice to just relax. But like every good thing, it had to come to an end. Sighing, I reached my wing for the shower-gel, just to grab empty space.
Blinking, I turned, just to look at the smug expression of my wife, the shower-gel in her right wing. “I hope you didn’t forget me,” she said. “You looked pretty spaced out.”
“You sneaky mare,” I grinned.
Blue smiled before pouring some shower-gel on her wing. “I had the best teacher,” she purred before starting to massage the gel into my coat with her wings. “Now, my love, you’ve got something to explain. Why do you think I’m still sexy with this?” She pointed to her swollen belly.
“Because you are,” I mumbled in bliss at the soft touch of her wings. “You are the most beautiful and sexy mare in both the known and unknown world for me. That’s something that will never change.”
“Then why didn’t you do anything the last six months? Ever since my stomach… well, you know, you haven’t touched me more... intimately,” Blue whispered.
I gasped, “Blue, that got nothing to do with that! You know how busy the trainings can be, and nearly every time I came home you were either sleeping already or tired and worn out. I would never take advantage of you like that, so I let it be.”
Her wing played over my skin, making me gasp as she gently whispered, “Night, you know that you can always talk to me, no matter what. It wasn’t easy for me to hold out either, since our past adventures were…” she stopped before leaning in, biting softly on my ear. “Really, really hot and messy.”
It had the desired effect as my wings poofed open, showing off their full glory. Something Blue seemed quite happy about, while I was just happy the shower was that big.

“What’s wrong?” Blue purred into my ear, served with a quick lick over it’s tip. “I thought you like it hot and messy?”
Slowly, without too much pressure I draped her around me and against the wall, being careful to not hurt her. “Mhh yes, but only if it involves you.”

“Nighty, there are a few rules for today.”
“Uh, okay?”
“There are two important things. The first is you can’t bite into my stomach, at least the doctors don’t recommend it. The second is, that you can’t draw too much blood from me. It could endanger our foal,” Blue was totally serious.
I smiled and nodded. “I understand. Don’t worry, I will be careful. Our foal is in the best hooves.”
“I never doubted that, it’s just that I want you to know everything,” she replied gently with a smile.
Before I could say more she caught me in a gentle, but firm and passionate kiss, leading me out of the bathroom and to our bed. I yelped in surprise and broke the kiss as my hind legs caught upon something hard and I toppled upon our bed.
My breath stopped in my throat as Blue slowly crawled upon me, her gaze showing nothing but desire and pure love. My wings hurt as they tried to press against the mattress of the bed and my whole body went stiff.
