Pinkie Pie looked at her reflection on the window. She was watching ponies leave from her recent party, but caught herself gazing at her large, blue eyes and pink curly mane. She looked different from other ponies, that large mane is no doubt. Difference wasn't a sin. To Pinkie Pie's personal opinion, difference was what kept her from being alike from other ponies. She thought that was good. She knew that if everypony were the exact same, then the world would be dull and boring.
She had always been different. Thinking about this topic made her think to her family back at the rock farm. She was the only one upon the Pies whom showed enthusiasm as...enthusiasm. She shown happiness very greatly opposed to her family. Heck, she was the Element of Laughter and made other ponies smile. Happiness was how she was known. What was strange upon it was that she came from a family of blandness.
It's a question that has always occurred to her; what was the cause of her being different as opposed to her family? Perhaps the strange science of genetics was the purpose, and maybe she had old ancestors from long ago who were as enthusiastic as she. Or perhaps she was adopted? It seemed nearly impossible to most that she, whom had a large amount of enthusiasm, could be related to somepony such as Maud Pie.
It took one reflection of herself to think upon all this.
One look at her own reflection and she was going off thinking of something probably not commonly thought. It seemed strange how the universe worked; a look at herself and a million thoughts suddenly erupting like a volcano in her head. She met the gaze of herself and there came out thoughts that would possibly change her future and existence overall.
She smiled at her reflection, and it smiled back. She knew that whenever or not it was genetics that made her differ, or perhaps it was adoption, she knew that there was a purpose for her enthusiastic ways.
Pinkie suddenly thought to her sight of the Sonic Rainboom as a filly.
Of course.
The Rainboom had evoked her depression to happiness, giving her the current personality in which she still held. It was the vibrant colors of the Rainboom that eased the sadness she got from working on the rock farm and turned her to a party animal. The Rainboom was the answer to all the questions she was asking.
If it weren't for that Rainboom, the consequences could be severe. She could've probably grown to have a familiar personality to that of Maud's. She would've never been the Element of Laughter after all.
She knew that the Rainboom influenced all of the Elements; if it were to of never happened, then there was a possibility that the universe would be in complete chaos and would explode! (It wasn't improbable, either.)
She sighed. It wasn't really healthy to continuously stare at herself as so. She was a little tiresome from that party, anyway. After one more quick glance at herself, she turned off and climbed up the stairway to her bedroom.
