//-------------------------------------------------------// Your Human and You: Old Stitches -by Pixel Berry98- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Dear Journal //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Dear Journal ~Entry #001~ ~Season: Fall~ Dear Journal, Today is my first entry on my newest project that I have decided on starting. What is it you may ask? Well, my project is to bring a pony back to life! ...Well, not really a pony technically. But this a plan beforehoof around that. Since it's rather illegal to dig up a deceased pony from the grave yard, I decided to do the next best thing: humans! Why humans? Well, why not!? They seemed to be the smartest animal next to us ponies. They can be taught things, trained to be obedient and even to housework and chores if they're that smart! They kind of look like tall hairless monkeys that stand on two legs like the minotaur. Anyways, I decided that I rather do humans cause they seem like they hold a better purpose then some white bunny or a simple dog. Humans seem to be more of a mystery then the Everfree Forest itself. Nopony knows where they came from in all honesty. No matter how much we study and teach them, they seem to be at some barrier in their mind that can’t let them know more. Kind of like a dogs, only much smarter. Today, for now, I will just be studying the human books around the creature before I even get a human to test out. I mean, it would be rather crazy to just jump onto the resurrection and not know anything about the very creature you’re giving life to. That’s just a filly’s first mistake. Either way, I shall be writing my entries each day around five in the afternoon, right before the sun sets. Without anything else to say, I shall be ending this entry here until tomorrow. Signed, Atom B. ~Entry #010~ ~Season: Fall~ Dear Journal, Today is now my official first day of trying to bring a human back to life. I’ve spent ten days studying and writing down certain facts around the humans, from the way the eat and walk, all the way to how they behave around certain things. I’ve even done my own research with the approval of Mrs.Smith’s Father. He was greatly accepting of me studying on the humans that he naturally breeds and trains himself. Mrs.Smith is also a rather strange mare, but she’s a smart one at that. I also spent some time with her son Johnny. He’s an adventurous one I’ll tell ya that. Anyways, I’ve narrowed down to what age range I shall be picking out to use. My first option was to use an adult male, but after some research on how aggressive they may be and also territorial, I’ve changed my mind to much younger humans. The age ranging from ten to pre-teen that is either twelve or thirteen. Of course I could use the elderly that have passed on by natural causes, but I feel as if they spent enough time on Equis, while the younger humans who have been deceased by accidents, sickness or even unknown causes. I have my first human with me at the moment, and his name is Chris. His C.O.D., or Cause of Death, is one of accidental that had a lightning cloud and a long fall included. I have already did the medical procedures and even made sure that I casted a spell that would make the body hydrated and nourished so when he is brought back to life, he won’t quickly die of starvation or dehydration. Now, for this first attempt, I shall be using a powerful defibrillator that I, uhm, borrowed from the hospital. I will bring it back, I promise! Anyways, I’ll be back in a short while, the spell won’t last that long. *An Hour Later Hello again. It’s me again and it seems that my first attempt wasn’t a success. The only result I got was an unmoving body and some scorch marks on his chest. I’m not sure if I used too much power or just not enough. I could try again, but I don’t want to make the human body any worse. I’ll do some research around the human anatomy more and even some magic that the humans may have stored in their body. Until Next Time, Atom B. ~Entry #027~ ~Season: Winter~ Dear Journal, Today I am writing my second attempt on resurrection with a human body and I’ve got another young human male by the name of Rick. His C.O.D. is actually cause if an unknown disease that nopony could cure. It’s a shame really. I read in his file that he tried to make it seem like he wasn’t sick and tried to walk it off. But since the disease technically paralyzed his body slowly, the walking didn’t last long. I am really sorry for him. Either way, I might give him another chance if this works. I’ve done the procedures again and this time, I am going to use a powerful spell that ponies have only used to make a flower bloom faster. I made sure that the disease that ended his life faster was gone, but it seemed that the sickness died with him. I could’ve gathered some of it and maybe make a cure for it to pass the time, but I’m okay with not finding a trace of it. It makes it easier for me to bring him back to life without any worries. Now I’ll write back the results. *Thirty Minutes Later Well then, I never thought that this would happen. It seems that the spell doesn’t bring life to plants, it just makes the growth faster. So technically, I just aged the corpse to an adult. Rick would’ve looked like a handsome human if he was still alive. I’ll find a spell to reverse it and then bring him back to his grave. I don’t want to try a different spell that might not be reversible, or maybe make the body worse. Maybe Next Time, Atom B. ~Entry #078~ ~Season: Spring~ Dear Journal, It has been some time since I decided on this project and so far I’ve been having nothing but study sessions and failures. I have a feeling that some ponies are catching onto what I’m doing and I don’t like it. Maybe I should give up… no. I won’t! I shall not! So what if some ponies have spotted me with a wagon of stuff that is covered in dirty cloths. It’s not like they know what I’m doing. I’m a perfectly good pony and I’m doing this to make Equestria a better place, just like my teacher always told me. Ponies will see my successful human, and ponies will want to help make ponies instead be brought to life. Little foals and mares and stallions that have been taken from this world too soon. I bet Celestia herself will approve of this. Mark my words I will make this work or the cutie mark that I bear is fake! Also, I did try again with a girl last time, her name was Zoe and her C.O.D. was some much bigger and older humans picking on her and beat her to death. Some humans are good, but others are like the harsh ponies that we have to live with as well. Anyways, I tried to bring her back to life, but forgot to check her insides ‘n such, so she didn’t last long. But she was alive for a moment! I was so close that my lazy flank forgot to make sure everything within her was okay. Some ponies make mistakes, but next time I won’t! I will promise that! -Atom B. ~Entry #099~ ~Season: Summer~ Dear Journal, Oh no! The ponies are catching on and asking questions! I don’t know how long I can keep this up. I think I have to move someplace far away, where nopony can find me and I can work on my project in peace. I’m so scared, I can’t even leave my home until it’s night. I’m losing some sleep, but nothing but an energizing spell won’t help. Either way, I’ll be moving my project to an old house that I only use for storage and useless files. I know this entry is a bit short, but I don’t really have that much time to write more. Next Time, Atom B. ~Entry #108~ ~Season: Summer~ Dear Journal, I have a crazy idea! So crazy, that I think I’ll be sent to a mental hospital if this comes out to anypony else. Have you ever heard of this story called “Franken Mare”? Of course I have! It was the very story that made me think of this idea! Anyways, I decided to try the way the story did: Using some body parts, stitching them together, and even doing the old lightning-for-power trick, but for different reasons. For this idea, I made sure that it was a young female. But I also used some of my own hoof-made things that I built myself. I made a robotic arm, leg, eye and even an ear since I couldn’t gather enough body parts that weren’t already ruined. But the greatest thing I made, was my very own robotic brain. Yeah, I know in the story they used another pony’s brain that was a bit wrong and made the creature a bit slow. So, making sure it doesn’t happen, I made my own brain that has it’s own learning chip. I also did this to make the human learn actual Equish! But also it’s own kind language. I just thought it’d be weird if the human knows Equish, but not its own type of language. Anyways, other than that, I made my own proper source of power, it being a strange stone that I found while in the Everfree forest. It is an array of different colors and shines bright in the sunlight. It is going to be the power source that I’ve stored in the heart. Granted, this isn’t really a fully resurrected human, but more of a cyborg, so I’m guessing I’m taking another step back in brining a pony back to life by using my own things instead of everything being actual living cells. Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah! Once the lightning strikes the stitched body, the magic within the lightning will quickstart the magic stone and bring the stitched cyborg to life. I’ve also done some other improvements in the body, but I don’t think that will be necessary to write down. Let’s hope for the best and maybe this might be my big chance! Hooves Crossed, Atom B. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Arise //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Arise 'Lub-dub… lub-dub… lub-dub… lub-dub.' The small sound of a heartbeat was heard in the darkness. A small yellow glow being shown by the rhythm of the beating heart. The being that is the source of the heartbeat and glow, groaned as they slowly opened their eyes… only to see darkness. The person looked around, seeing a small light shine a good distance away. They tried to get up, only to hit a curved sheet of glass with their head. They hissed at the minor pain as they placed a hand on the sheet of glass. It was cold, but not too cold. They then hit a fist at the glass, it doing nothing to it. They then hit it harder, some cracks being shown. One last hit and the glass casing around them was broken. They spread the open area further until pretty much the whole cover was broken to pieces. After that, they sat up and looked around, their vision becoming clearer as time passed. They were in a room. A dark room with old thing that were covered in dust and spider webs. They kept looking around as they saw old toys and furniture. ‘I need to get up.’ They thought. The being slowly lifted a leg, making sure they don’t touch the broken glass. They looked down to see a bare foot touch the cold dusty floor. A second one following after as they were soon up on their feet. They moved their legs a little, seeing some dust that stuck onto their feet. They then looked back up to see a naked female human looking back at them. They jumped a little at the sight of the stranger, the human doing the same. They then calmed down a little, the human copying. At this moment, they were curious as they slowly approached the human, she doing the same. The being reached a hand out, only to feel a flat surface to where the hands met. They-or more like she, looked down at her hand, seeing another one come to view. She flexed her fingers, seeing them move. She looked back at her reflection, seeing bright green eyes looking back at her. She also spotted brown hair atop of her head. She reached a hand out to feel how soft it was. She then spoke for the first time. “Human… I’m a human.” She remembered. “And… humans are like pets.” She rubbed her cheek as she felt some hidden stitches around her mouth. She rubbed it more to smudge whatever was hiding it. Her eyes widened as she saw that the stitches went farther than what she assumed. “Am I human?” She asked out loud. She thought about it more as she saw a yellow glow go over the stitches and made them hidden once again. She then felt a small breeze go through the area where she was standing, making her goosebumps show. “S-so cold.” She mumbled. She turned her head to see a large closet nearby. Without a second thought, she opened the closet… only to be greeted by ruined articles of clothing. Either by the unknown amount of time being left in the closet or maybe some moths that she also spotted some that were most likely dead on the bottom. She moved some of the ruined clothes to see if any were saved at least. She saw that the least damaged article of clothing's was a large white short sleeve shirt and some tan cargo pants. The only damage from the two was that one part of the short sleeve was torn to shreds, while the cargo pants were ruined around the waistline. “Maybe… I can fix it?” She said out loud as she brought a green long sleeve shirt that the right sleeve was the only thing that wasn’t ruined. She also brought out a small yellow shirt, only to rip out the end. She also noticed that a small blue rag was untouched. She took that as well. “Now, to find some sewing supplies.” She spoke once more before she started looking around the dusty room. After what felt like fifteen minutes, she found a needle and very little amount of thread. With how much there was, she could only sew up the hole around the green sleeve part. She looked around the room some more to find a pair of brown sandals and a broken belt. ‘This might do.’ She thought as she went back to making her own clothings. When thirty more minutes of sewing, finger pricks, and patching things together, her outfit was finally done. She had to use more rags and small quilts to make the pants fit better. The ends of the cargo were tied and she even added a fluff of fur on the sandals for extra warmth and comfort. But since the sleeves of her shirt didn’t cover her whole arm, she used some flex wrap to cover her wrist and the rest of her arm. Even though she couldn’t cover her entire arms. She now felt much warmer and comfortable. “Much better.” She rubbed her arms a little before she went back to looking around. Most of the things were ruined by mother nature and her creations as it seemed nothing was left to scavenge for. She decided to leave the room, only to enter another one. Like the room before, there was nothing worth keeping since everything was ruined. She came across what she assumed was a photo album. She opened it, only to see most of the photos were ruined by mother nature again. She only spotted one and saw it was a picture of a human that looked like her, but younger and smiling big, and a male pony with a hoof on the tiny human’s shoulder. The pony was a unicorn with a yellow coat while his mane and tail was black. “Is he… a friend?” She asked out loud. “No… it looks more like a family photo. Is that even me?” She took the picture out of it’s spot and brought it closer. She gently placed a hoof on the stallion’s chest before she folded the picture and put it in her pocket. She looked through the photo album more, but only saw blurred photos or more ponies that she didn’t know about. But she soon saw two pictures that she couldn’t look away from. The first one was of a grown stallion and a little colt that seemed to be racing each other. The stallion’s coat was a light green while he had a blond mane and tail. He also had a bit of hair around his chin and blond sideburns. The colt was instead red with white freckles and an orange mane and tail. The stallion had a mark on his flank of a red apple that was bitten and some seeds were showing and even out of the apple bite as well. She also noticed that the two ponies had the same eye color, which was green. The other picture was of a mare and what she assumed was a foal that was just born. The mare was laying on a bed of hay, laying on her back as the tiny foal was laying on her stomach. The mare’s coat was a brownish-orange while her mane was three different colors, two being different shades of orange and the last being yellow. Her eyes were also a bright blue. The baby foal was a bright orange while her mane and tail were yellow. She also noticed that both the mare and the foal had freckles just like the colt in the first photo. The human couldn’t help but feel a small negative emotion in her heart. Was is pity, or maybe jealousy over the photos, seeing that in every photo was a smile on the ponies’ muzzles. She also took the photos from the album and folded them, having a feeling that maybe if she find these ponies, they might help her find out more about herself. The human girl kept on exploring the house and came across what seemed like a lab in the house. She saw all the dusty machines and more ruined books that she didn’t even decide on opening. She then came across a large table that had something on it that was covered in a dusty tarp. She wanted to take the tarp off to see what was under it, but felt that she shouldn’t… at least, not yet. Once she saw there was nothing else in this house. She went on and tried to find a way out of the house. Once she saw a glint of light, she ran over to it and was met by the bright sun. She winced and she shielded her eyes. After some time, she opened her eyes again and blink a few times before she could see clearly again. She saw that she was in a rather rural place. The old house being the only house she saw. She spotted a lot of trees, and looked up to see a clear blue sky. She reached her hand up to feel the wind blow through her fingertips. She smiled as she watched a bird fly overhead. But soon that smile faded as she asked one question to herself. “What do I do now? I don’t remember anything about me, but I do know about where I am. Equestria, a world in which humans are mere pets. Maybe I can find this pony, or someone else that might tell me what I am and what I am here to do.” She said. “And I will find out, or my name isn't Feronia.” She said without thinking. “And it seems like I remember my own name. Thank Celestia.” Feronia said to herself.
