Secrets Revealed

At the weather factory in Cloudsdale, a dark gray stallion with a light blue mane was waiting impatiently for a certain cyan Pegasus. Two mares then came around a corner to greet said stallion.

“Where is she?! She’s at least an hour late. She didn’t practice too much again, did she?” came the stallion.

“Are you KIDDING ME, THUNDERLANE?!? Are you aware that Rainbow Dash has FAILED her dream of becoming a Wonderbolt? You are such an IDIOT!!!” Cloudchaser came.

“Well, yeah. I knew that, but that’s no excuse to be an hour late,”

“Oh, yeah?” Chaser barked back. “How would you feel if YOU failed to achieve your dream?”

“Well,… I would be very depressed,” Thunder admitted to himself, lowering his head.

“Don’t worry about Dash,” Came Flitter. “She’ll come around eventually,”

“You’re right,” he said with a smile. Just then, the doors slowly opened to reveal a very exhausted Rainbow Dash. Her eyes were stained red with bags underneath, her mane was messier than usual, and she lost some air every now and again. She crashed on the desk that Thunderlane was working at.

“Uh, can I help you, Dash?” He asked unassumingly. She was out. The twins tried shaking her, shouting in her ears, and took a small lightning cloud and shot it off. Nothing.

“What should we do with her?” Cloudchaser asked.

“We got to find some way to make her work, but what?”

Eventually, they had come up with an idea. A ridiculous idea, but still an idea. They had doodled on her face to make her look like she was awake and attached sticks to her forehooves to make them move. Another Pegasus was coming through the building.

“Hello,” came Cloudchaser, trying her best to mimic her friend’s voice.

“Oh, hello Rainbow Dash,” came a very happy voice belonging to a certain gray Pegasus.

“Morning, Derpy. Finishing your morning route?”

“Yup. Ready for duty at the factory. Oh, before I go, I have a letter for you,”

Hearing the conversation stirred the rainbow pony from her slumber. She looked at her hooves and wondered what kind of prank she was in. She whipped her head around to see Cloudchaser behind her.

“Hey, what are you doing with me? And who’s that letter for?”

“Sorry, it’s for you, Dashie,”

“Please don’t call me that at work,” the rainbow pony was blushing mad at her cutest nickname. Only her closest friends were allowed to call her that, not that she wouldn’t blush if they did. She took the letter saying that it was her first day of class.

“Hey, Chaser? You don’t mind if I catch a few Z’s, do you? I’ve got to get ready for something this afternoon,”

“Sure. I’ve got something of my own that I need to do as well. Later,”

As the day at the factory came to a close, Dash made a beeline for home to prepare for rehearsal, but when she had got there, a pink unicorn was awaiting her return.

“ ‘Sup, Star. What brings you here?”

“A lot, actually. I was trying out Twi’s cloud walking spell to talk to you,” came Glimmer.

“What about?” she asked, nerves already taking ahold of her.

“Rarity. Has she been acting… Strange as of recent?”

“What, no! Why would I know anything about that?!” Dash blurred out.

“Is that so? Well then why would she ask me to see YOU?” Starlight shouted, pointing a hoof at Dash.

The cyan mare was under deep pressure as the cunning unicorn was determined to get answers. Her eyes were everywhere but on Starlight, desperately trying to conjure an excuse. “Nothing much, heh. She probably just sent you her to check up on me, yup. I’m alright and dandy,”

“Mmm-hmm,” Star muttered, giving Dash dagger eyes. The rainbow Pegasus would start pouring a waterfall at this rate. “Well, if that’s all you had to tell me, then I’m done here,”

Rainbow blew out a sigh of relief as the visitor had left her abode. She slowly walked in and turned around behind the door to see if Starlight was out of sight. Seeing that she was, Dash quickly got herself dressed for the later occasion. She arrived a few minutes before starting time to stretch herself out, unaware that a certain Pegasus was just passing by.

“There, primed and ready. YIKES!” Dash shouted, looking for something to hide behind. The Pegasus in question was the only male currently in the Wonderbolts and her crush, Soarin. Dash knew if he saw what she was doing, a few more dreams were going to get shattered. “What’s he doing? Oh, I just hope he doesn’t see me,” Just as she made her little prayer, the rest of the class was arriving.

“Okay, everypony, settle down. Today, we will be working in groups doing duets,” came the teacher. All of them quickly chose their partners and began discussing what dances they will be doing. Dash was left with a certain Pegasus with a turquoise coat and golden mane.

“Hey there, Dash. How you doing?”

Are you kidding me? The rainbow pony thought. “Hello, Lightning Dust…”

“Nice to see you after all these years. Didn’t expect you to be this girly,”

“WHAT?!” Dash shouted. “Excuse me, but can we step outside for a minute?” The teacher nodded. Dash suggested they talk at the back to make sure nopony saw her.

“What are you doing here?!”

“Well, after getting kicked out of the academy, I had heard of this place. With the agility to easily match yours, I didn’t waste a moment to sign up. They were really impressed at what I could do, so they took me up,”

“That’s……. nice to hear,” Dash replied with an awkward smile. “So, how have you been doing?”

“Quite well, thank you for asking, now just follow my lead and you will do just fine,”

Dash wasn’t very fond of following somepony else’s lead, but to ensure she didn’t look like a total noob, she played along.
